First time trying this place was very impressed. We only ordered Pea Fritter and Quorn Sausages and chips take away, but they were good quality. A nice cafe with plenty of space for dining and spotlessly clean throughout. Nicely designed interior as well which created a warm atmosphere. Cannot wait to try their fish products.

Very good quality and reasonable portions. Very good fish. survived the journey well and wasn't soggy or anything when it arrived. restaurant were very helpful with allergen advice when I called them regarding a nut allergy.

driver rang, he was on the wrong road explained he needed next road over, he then went 2 roads over. Food cold on arrival had to warm it up, hence the bad scoring, normally very good. Drivers need to understand English better.

Beautiful fish and chips - the best in the area in my opinion. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Chips were very over cooked and tasteless and the pot of curry sauce was only half full! Very expansive for what you get it’s ridiculous!

Well if that’s the large cod and chips very disappointing I expected a large cod not bits normally you’re goods are very enjoyable to eat but this was the worse I’ve ever had from you very disappointing definitely not worth the price I payed

Not a terrible visit but I’ve had better fish and chips. Small fish is about the same as a regular so don’t make the mistake I did by paying extra for a regular. Chips were nice but wish I had more for the price I paid, the Fish was nice but the batter was soggy and not cooked enough. Friendly service and very clean.

Hands down the best fish and chips in Exeter. Not sure why other reviews say it’s expensive. Two large cod and on large chips…easily enough for two, £19.95. I think that is more than competitive with elsewhere in Exeter. Excellent quality….very busy for a reason.

gentleman dropped my moped on my motorcycle and neighbours car.

the delivery person messaged to say they were here so I came to the door and waited outside but no one came. they messaged again they were outside but they weren't. then when I then messaged them to say where are you. they said they were outside so I had to go hunting for them and they were across the road. I cant be wondering the streets I have two children in the house and I'm by meself. they obviously hadn't seemed to make an effort to look around because I had been keeping an eye out.

Ordered two large portions of fish & chips & one curry sauce which were extremely overpriced at a cost of over £30 not including delivery & service charges, so getting on for nearly £40 in all. Specifically requested to be delivered at a certain time. Food delivered fifteen minutes before I asked it to be. Good portions of fish but inadequate portions of chips for this price. I will never order anything from there again. I could probably do a week’s shopping for £40. Outrageous prices.

The best fish and chip restaurant I've ever been to. I chose to eat in this time and it was served on a clean plate with a real knife and fork. I chose a small battered cod and chips with their homemade mushy peas, which was lovely! Tissues and condiments e.g. salt and vinegar. Extremely good service and the food was amazing! Remember when fish n chips was a fiver? Then the price crept up to 8 quid and everyone was like WHOA! Eight quid for fish n chips!!! Well now ... I had spent all day in A&E with a friend. We came home starving and opted for food from Hook. One large cod, chips and a small portion of mushy peas; one small haddock and chips. Here come the capitals to represent the shock horror .... THIRTY-FOUR POUNDS!! It was ni-hice ... but not £34 worth of nice. Never again.

Order was later than requested when ordering which wasn't a problem. The chicken burger didn't seem the best quality. My main problem was that the burgers and the fish and chips were almost cold and were cold before finishing eating

Whilst visiting Exeter for the Christmas market,we tried the Hook for lunch, prices very reasonable and my word, it was the BEST fish and chips I've ever had, we sat inside and it was very clean and tidy and the service was very quick, well worth a visit, they even do battered Mars bars, didn't try them as we were filled up from the chips

Usually these arrive hot and intact. Unfortunately this time the gravy was spilt and the chips were cool. Unusual as i said, but a shame.

with the traffic in Exeter the food arrived a little later than the app said it would but it was still hot and delicious. defo recommended

My order was completely wrong, I received wrong items,. I've opened the packet and found that al was wrong and binned it as there wS no direct number to call, so I've binned the whole things

Very rude staff. Polite at first but when you have issues that act like a child throwing toys out of a pram Food sloppy and overpriced. Overrated hype . Try clock tower chips or any krispies chips. You'll be blown away by there chips. Worth every penny. In my opinion just like to keep the tills ringing.

Honestly, the best battered cod I've had for a very long time. This place is run by a chap who knows his craft and is looking for perfection. Tea was good too. Kudos. 5 years later... Still just as good 👌🏻

After a long day of traveling Hook Fish & Chips hit the spot. My husband and I shared a large fried Cod and chips. It came with a tarter sauce that my husband said was very good. I used the lemon slice and vinegar and was impressed with the flaky fish and crispy yet fluffy chips. A recommended stop when in Exeter

Chips were undercooked and the cheese on the just tasted of tasteless rubber and didn’t resemble cheese at all and the curry sauce was only fill up half way but the chicken burger was really nice. Definitely much better chippies in exeter!

Top fish shop with amazing and friendly staff + manager. Food is always amazing and would highly suggest anybody to give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

I ordered a takeaway on Sunday. The food was very bad and cold. The customer service was very poor, especially a person wearing glasses who looked European he treated me in a racist and bad way when I spoke to him in order to get my money back. I do not advise anyone to try this unhealthy place.

Haddock and Plaice all beautifully cooked with a crispy light batter. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will certainly order again.

Overall the food was good here the only thing that let them down was the fish had freezer taste to it and it is just a little bit pricey.

Great fish and chip shop in the centre of Exeter. Clean, efficient and welcoming - the Haddock that I had was spot on and the Grandson’s choice of Cod was as good.

The battered sausage wasn’t to great but the rest was pretty good, like the chips and gravy, the onion rings come in multiple different sizes but are very good.

bit miffed only 1 pickled onion as it does say "onions" so feel £1 bit pricey for 1 onion. otherwise no problems with ordering or delivering and food always hot and tasty.
