Gourmet Peri Peri in Exeter

Most expensive chicken shop I visited. £6 for 6 nuggets alone, not even a meal. That’s £1 per nugget. 3 chicken strip cost me £3.45. All I could taste was lemon while I asked for spicy.

Nice halal place. Got peri peri burger here. Price is normal, clean sitting area, easy to order, friendly guys. I think peri peri burger was a wrong choice for me because burgers should either be with deep fried crispy juicy chicken or beef patty. Peri peri chicken tightened with buns was a bit dry. Next time I’ll try peri peri wings and fried chicken. Chips were delicious.

witnessed something while eating here. The employees there are very rude to the delivery guys. Several delivery men came and they were all very rude. Their only mistake is that they said they came to order. Be respectful of the delivery people, they are on the same team as you. They deliver your orders to your customers.

The food was alright, not amazing nothing special ordered on just eat and the food took almost 2 hours to arrive. every time i called they’d say “it’s coming in 5 mins it’s coming in 5 mins”. awful service

Really Really bad service. They insisted I ordered for collection (which I never do). When I phoned, he was quite rude and not helpful, very dismissive. This is not the first time we have been let down and had to chase our order. Will NOT be going there again!!!!!!

Can safely say this was the worst burrito I have ever consumed. Really really nasty, gave me an my partner instant upset stomachs so I would 100% avoid. Ordered a chicken burrito and it had zero rice in it?? And the chicken tasted like prepacked cheap stuff from Tesco:( My partner had the gourmet beef burger and it was SO chewy and you could feel all the tendons🤮 The vibe in this place isn’t very nice either, didn’t even get a thank you. Won’t be coming again Would not recommend!!

Today I tried to order food for collection over the phone 4 times with no success! I spoke to the same person who could not take my order over 10 minutes. After asking to speak with someone else phone hung up again. The most pathethic service I have ever had. I decided to visit in person to see who serviced me and speak with the manager/owner, but unfortunately he couldn't even say his name?! Pathetic and poor service. Think twice before calling them!

Food is just terrible. The chicken was dry and had a smell. They lack basic hygiene - The grill isn't cleaned at all. If you want to get sick eat here I guess.

10/10 food and the service steals the show, owe them big time. The food was great, but I was blown away by the kindness of the guys there. I messed up and ordered for collection, I called to let them know and they amended it and delivered so quick, across town too.

Another place that serves food in town but what a place. Worth visiting. Great burgers, wraps. My children said that they prefer to walk and eat here rather to take something from Mcdonald.

came here after a long drive down the country with a group of 10 people and were starving. The food was exquisite and the service was excellent would definitely recommend if ur looking for some chicken or beef to end ur day overall 10/10 experience

Delicious food at affordable price.

We had been travelling for almost 5 hours and we didn’t have any breakfast before we set off and we were expecting something good out of the restaurant maybe the food will be really good as they are expensive, but no, this was terrible. Our first time in Exeter we prayed our Friday prayers and looked around for halal options, they have a few other restaurants but this one sounded the best but when we got there it was alright and clean inside but the food we ordered was for the whole family and they said around 20-30 minutes which we waited without any problems but they started bringing out our food one by one and we opened them and everything was barely warm. We got the peri peri burgers which for at least the price should be a good size but this burger was very thin and the it was completely dry and we also got loaded fries which was poorly presented and we also got a burger called spicy lamb kebab which is just a minced lamb kebab put between buns. We also got one toffee milkshake just to wash down the miserable food but it was normal bottled milk in a Coca Cola cup with some only god knows what flavouring, the only thing that was good was the canned drinks which they just bought and didn’t have to do anything other than keep it cold. Overall I would give this place a 2/10 and that’s only because they had the place clean and had a available toilet

NEVER BUY FROM THEM. Received a delivery today the food was under cooked and smelt very bad, spoke to the manager instead to help me out with the situation got a rude attitude in response, Me and my friends are never going there again. Plenty of new food places around we gonna stick to them. Also complaining to council as they sell soiled chicken which can effect ppls health.

Freshly cooked. Offers different level of spiciness to cater for all palates. Reasonably priced, staff were good and friendly. Fries were good and not cooked in old oil thankfully. Loved the beef skewer, chicken wings and burgers. Only thing would say is the toilet area needs to be cleaner.

I used to always order from here whilst at university because of its affordability and amazing flavour of their chicken peri peri meals. Now I’ve left I have not been able to find any thing that compares. Highly considering coming back just to get food from here again 10/10

My daughter and I ordered through Deliveroo. We had The Falafel Burger. It was the nicest Falafel I've ever tried as sometimes can be dry. Delivery was quick and food was a good temperature.. We would definitely have again . Thank you.

We’ve ordered from here twice now, the first time it was lovely but the second time we were very disappointed, our wrap meals turned up with no chips and the rest of the order was cold. I feel like we completely wasted our money.

Highly recommend, food was simply excellent. So tasty and take a A* in presentation! Food tastes very fresh, we ordered a tikka burger, peri peri burger, chicken strips on rice, and a Mexican pizza. All was top notch!

I ordered food, received confirmation email, they took the money then a few minutes latet emailed me again to say they couldn't honour my order and would refund me within 3-5 working days!!! Never ordering here again!

19/09/22 ordered food, delivery was over 2hrs late after many phone calls and being palmed off many times by the rude operators. I finally got my order. Unfortunately on this occasion was very poor quality and the call handlers were rude and dismissive. I requested to have a replacement meal but request was denied. I asked the driver why it was so late and he just shrugged his shoulders then left. I have ordered many times through gourmet peri peri Exeter many times before and usually great service. But this has massively changed my opinion on the company. Now will not be using again sadly.

Had not expected to like this chicken more than KFC, it blew me away. The chicken was perfectly grilled and seasoned, I will come back soon!

We have used Peri Peri on multiple occasions. As yet they have to deliver within their 55 minute deadline and nearly on every occasion have had to chase them up on delivery time.....when ordering allow at least an hour and a half instead of 55 minutes allotted...food is good, but won't be ordering from them in the near future..... disappointed ☹️☹️☹️

Just came here for the first time and simply loved the food. Well cooked and taste is good as well. Staff is helpful and cheerful which is the one more plus about the shop. Surely this will be my favourite stop for every weekend now.

I’m not sure I like this place any longer.appalling customer service.waited 5 minutes before anyone took my order even there was no queue.Chicken was undercooked.We couldn’t eat it all and left disappointed. This was my favourite food spot not any more. Really frustrated wasted money&time.

I have a lot of good to say about this place. To start with the food quality is good here, I think it is my favourite place to get a chicken burger in Exeter, hands down. I normally always order the chicken burger meal deal for £5.99 but I have tried wings, finger licking good. Chicken isn’t dry fresh salad in the bun, fries aren’t dripping with oil, and you have to add the peri peri salt.

I ordered a takeaway from this place yesterday via ubber app and what a disappointment! Their satay is 1 x meat on bbq skewer. The meat was tiny and you could see skewer throughout. I ordered both chicken and beef ones. The beef looked literally like some scraps taken from someone else's plate. The meat itself looked so old and dry or overcooked. The chicken did look better buy not what you would expect to get for 3.99. I could go on and on about my order but there is no point. Will not return there for sure.

This is not the place to go in Exeter. The chips that eventually arrived were cold and were not very nice. We spent £66 through deliveroo in celebrating our daughters good results. But the restaurant failed the night by only giving the rider half of the order. Followed up by the worst customer service i have ever experienced. The manager is rude and thought it was funny.

Ordered just under £60 worth of food, all arrived cold, the chicken breast was hard and dry… everyone threw it away, aweful and never again.

Lush food, love this place!! Meats are superior quality and not defrosted like many places, you can definitely taste the difference. Always freshly prepared and short wait times. Never had a bad experience in about 50+ orders since opening, highly recommended 👌

I order from here a lot, (currently waiting for my order as I type this!) it is my absolute favourite and have never had a bad meal. I recommend to everyone I know and cannot fault the food. Delivery driver is always cheery and helpful. I cannot recommend highly enough!

Delicious food. I tried the wings and garlic bread - and my friend had a fully loaded wrap with halloumi. We sat outside and the staff inside were very friendly. Spiced so nicely and tender succulent with amazing punchy flavor. Great food - on a side note
