Gourmet Peri Peri in Exeter

Over 90 mins, no food yet. Was the same last time. Ordered from this place by mistake then I realised to regret it😅

terrible! food never arrived. driver couldn't find our house after 5 calls with him he still didn't understand that he wasn't at our house. after the food was an hour later than promised the we called the restaurant to be told we should get the food in a ffurther 20 mins! so i said I'd like to cancel the order, was told to mark it as cold food and we'd get a refund. which hasn't happened! pretty sure they are scamming people based on the amount of reviews here of non delivery!

Cold, dry generally not very good 🙄

Took an hour and twenty minutes to arrive. Good quality but was cold. Needs to sort their delivery service out.

Avoid delivery from them; took almost 2 hours for delivery. Won't be using again unfortunately.

I know its hard to judge heat of food but this was overley spiced i tried a vindaloo once never again and this was the same on both meals which one was hot and one was medium both tasted the same very disappointed as was looking forward to a takeaway

Well I had to call the restaurant due to ot telling me my food had been delivered in fac it hadn't. when it was delivered not even a sorry it was late he was very rude.. the iteams where cold and missing DIP and salad. the chicken was very bland and dry my wrap was very soggy. it went in the bin. we'll not be rushing back to eat here. first time getting it from here dispointed.

Unfortunately the chicken was completely inedible, I ended up giving it to my dog because it was so dry. Won’t bother again!

Shocking. Food was over an hour and a half late and arrived 2 and a half hours after we ordered. Tried to ring the restaurant but you’re just left in a queue for someone to answer. After 5 minutes on hold you just get an answer phone. I tried twice and so wasted 10 minutes trying to get through to someone to find out where it was with no joy. Won’t be ordering again

ordered at 12:30 and now 15:15 and still hasn't arrived. told it would be 15 minutes 45 minutes ago.

Very good service food was excellent delivery man came out of his car through the rain to bring us our meal and made a great effort to locate where we were considering we were working in a car wash.

I've been having food here for the last 10 years, but it's time for a review.. The quality of the food is excellent and consistent.Service always good and the staff is super polite. If you like chicken, this is the place to be. Specifically for peri peri, you can't get better than this. I've tried this in a lot of other restaurants and it's not the same. Try their half chicken(lemon n herb)plus their gourmet rice. 10 out of 10 every time.Thank me later!!

I visited Gourmet Peri Peri by chance, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. The dishes were exceptionally tasty, especially the garlic options, which were bursting with flavor. The pizza was a standout—soft, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. Service was quick and efficient, and what really impressed me was how the staff took great care regarding allergies, making sure we had a safe and enjoyable dining experience. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Overall, a great spot for delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommended

Yummy food should concentrate more on hygiene

I ordered my food 2.5 hours ago and who wants to eat dinner at 10.45 pm and it still isn't here!! it is disgraceful it was ordered at 7.30 and they didn't seem to care at all do not order here they are useless and not even an apology!!

I was disgusted to have to wait over 2 hours for my food I ordered at 8:30pm and it arrived at 10:48pm, there website says that delivery is 50-65mins however it isn’t the case I called multiple times and was told it will be 2mins I then waited another 10mins and called again and they stated that it would be delivered soon we just have to wait, it then got to 10:30 and by this point who wants to have dinner at 10:30?!? My food got here lukewarm my burger was very purple and the wrap was soggy, they then gave us about 10chips to share for 2 people!! The chicken nuggets were pink and chewy. I then found that in my burger I had a few very long black hairs, at this point I threw all the food away I’ve contacted them and said I want a full refund! I feel unwell after only taking 1/2 small bites of the burger I didn’t touch the chips but my sisters chips were dry and rock solid (frozen). I won’t be ordering again!!!!!!!!!!!! Many thanks I wish there was zero star but 1 star will do and this review

Food was amazing they way they serve with love and care was absolutely great and overall staff was so humble will definitely go there again.

Cold special chips , cold chips with the burger meal and cold chicken nuggets and pop corn chicken i had to re-heat majority of the food. Burger and wrap was nice

Don't read the comments, when requested no onions or tomatoes due to allergies.. forgot my kids drink and food arrives late then cold and only excuse I get is they only have one driver, well maybe employ more

placed order at 17:21 and after the times were given for original delivery it still hadn't arrived. after over an hour the restaurant called me and said it was ready and would be with me in 20 minutes maximum, That was at 18:32. At 19:10 I phoned again I was then told it still hadn't left the restaurant and would be another 20 minutes. food finally arrived at 19:39 and over half the order was cold and had to be reheated. extremely poor service and I do expect some compensation for this order.

Food was late. Zero communication. Stone cold when it arrived. Had to put wedges in the microwave. Ate chicken cold. Ice cream a melted puddle.... Definitely not 2 scoops as paid for. No colds law2as paid for. Will not order again.

Food was three hours late so I cancelled. Still not received a refund.

Really don’t know what to say.. I ordered food at 7 pm and was told food would be there by 8.15. No food arrived so I called. They apologise and said it would be there by 9.30. At 10 pm, still nothing. I called again to cancel the order. They told me the driver was outside. I said it’s too late for me to eat and can I just have a refund. 10.30, after I’m in bed, I get a call from the driver saying he’s outside. I said I’m in bed so have cancelled the order and want a refund. The next morning, I received a message saying they are refusing to refund me.. terrible place! I will not be using them again..

Food never arrived, I asked for a refund and was told to speak to the delivery guy when he turns up. No one turned up.. It’s not 10.25 and food was ordered before 7pm.

I absolutely love gourmet peri peri however the past 4 times I’ve ordered it has told me the order has been delivered yet will not turn up for atleast another 20-30mins

Overpriced , took over an hour to arrive . Food arrived , small looking portion for what was supposed to be large. Chicken was chewy and overcooked, all of it was cold. Won’t be bothering with this place again .

Tonight's food is absolutely shocking. We used them a lot in the past and they were amazing. Then they put there delivery up to £10. Tonight we had noticed they had put it back down to £5, so thought we used to love the food. Put the order in about 20:30, did not turn up until 22:35. All the food cold. Single burger is not worth £11, cheesy chips couldn't eat due to paper tray stuck to it, the very little falafel they give you in the pitta had absolutely no flavour. shame I can't write more :(

after not arriving in the estimated time, contacted and received new time of 30mins later, still not arrived phoned restaurant and was told it was with driver, total time waiting for order to arrive 2 hours, no apology no offer of compensation,

ordered from here twice. 1st time the food was late and cold. this time (2nd time) food was missing & late to arrive. not sure il order from here again to be honest

Lush food, love this place. Meats are superior quality, not defrosted like many places, you can definitely tell the difference. Always freshly made, short wait times and tasty for many many meals since it opened👌

I’ve given this place plenty of chances but they keep letting me down. Food was cold on delivery. The chicken was drier than sand from the desert that had gone through a dehydrator. Chips were a mix of undercooked to extremely overdone. Until this place improves, I shall not be ordering here again

Food was good on a whole, chicken strips a bit dry and garlic bread chewy but the wings and quartered chicken were fantastic. Late delivery but at least I was notified about the delays. Will happily order again but I hope the service improves.

2 hours late! A shame as the food is lovely but really wouldn’t recommend if you want something quickly. Also had to call the restaurant twice to ask where my food was, will sadly be considering elsewhere from now on.

It was our first time in Exeter and tried here since we needed halal food. Friendly staff , nice atmosphere and easy to order. Grilled chicken was really nice and pizza was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. Highly recommended !!

Most expensive chicken shop I visited. £6 for 6 nuggets alone, not even a meal. That’s £1 per nugget. 3 chicken strip cost me £3.45. All I could taste was lemon while I asked for spicy.

Nice halal place. Got peri peri burger here. Price is normal, clean sitting area, easy to order, friendly guys. I think peri peri burger was a wrong choice for me because burgers should either be with deep fried crispy juicy chicken or beef patty. Peri peri chicken tightened with buns was a bit dry. Next time I’ll try peri peri wings and fried chicken. Chips were delicious.

Food 30 mins late items missing paid for a large wrap only got a small used to be a great takeaway

witnessed something while eating here. The employees there are very rude to the delivery guys. Several delivery men came and they were all very rude. Their only mistake is that they said they came to order. Be respectful of the delivery people, they are on the same team as you. They deliver your orders to your customers.

Really Really bad service. They insisted I ordered for collection (which I never do). When I phoned, he was quite rude and not helpful, very dismissive. This is not the first time we have been let down and had to chase our order. Will NOT be going there again!!!!!!

Can safely say this was the worst burrito I have ever consumed. Really really nasty, gave me an my partner instant upset stomachs so I would 100% avoid. Ordered a chicken burrito and it had zero rice in it?? And the chicken tasted like prepacked cheap stuff from Tesco:( My partner had the gourmet beef burger and it was SO chewy and you could feel all the tendons🤮 The vibe in this place isn’t very nice either, didn’t even get a thank you. Won’t be coming again Would not recommend!!

Today I tried to order food for collection over the phone 4 times with no success! I spoke to the same person who could not take my order over 10 minutes. After asking to speak with someone else phone hung up again. The most pathethic service I have ever had. I decided to visit in person to see who serviced me and speak with the manager/owner, but unfortunately he couldn't even say his name?! Pathetic and poor service. Think twice before calling them!

Food is just terrible. The chicken was dry and had a smell. They lack basic hygiene - The grill isn't cleaned at all. If you want to get sick eat here I guess.

Food is great. Delivery time is not. Order placed at 7.45pm, didn’t receive until 9.40pm. Phoned twice, was told he would be 10 minutes but it was more like another 25 minutes. Delivery really let’s this place down. Won’t be ordering again because of this.

Definitely not as good as it used to be. Chicken dry, service slow, no sense of urgency to satisfy customers.
