We went shopping at Hoo Hing (North Circular Road - Park Royal branch) and then went upstairs to its restaurant/cafe to have our lunch. All the foods (dim sum, noodles, rice, etc.) were reasonably priced and yet they were very delicious. The staff at the restaurant were cheerful and helpful. Although it is a self-service restaurant, the dining tables are big and the chairs are very comfortable, with traditional Chinese design. It is really worth every penny, considering the good quality of food. The Chinese tea (Jasmine) was cheap too, compared to other restaurants.

This is for the one in hanger lane. It is a canteen rather than a restaurant, the food is basic but tasty, really cheap you can get full for less than a tenner!! Certainly worth a visit , and much better than a mc ds,you also have the benefit of being able to walk round Hoo Hings warehouse, and see the fish. It shuts at 4pm . We go there regularily, you can even get a take away!!!

We were staying at the Travelodge and could not check in until 3 so decided to head out for lunch. We were actually going to head towards Hanger Lane tube station but stumbled across the supermarket and decided to look in and thank god we did! As soon as you walk into the main entrance there is a stairway on the right leading to the cafe. It's simple and no frills but offers de net dim sum, noodles and rice dishes at a bargain. There's limited dishes but sufficient choice, you simple go to the counter order, pay take your ticket and wait for your number to get your food. I had roast duck and rice with tea for under £5 and got a free tea refill. Sister had noodle soup with duck and char Sui similar price and fried wanton dumplings. Total cost under £15 - see photo for menu. See attached photos for pricing. We were happy with the no nonsense service and affordable prices. The cafe is only open 12-4pm but did get busy even in the time we were there 2-3pm with families, solo diners, couples, friends and colleagues. Solo diners can eat here without feeling self aware if that's an issue for you. Located about a 10 minute walk or less between Hanger Lane and Stanbridge Park and only 5-8 minutes from Travelodge. There is also a free customer carpark. Added bonus is you can shop whilst you are there in the well stocked supermarket which is reasonably priced, brought some crisps for £1.00 that cost £1.50 in Birmingham Chinatown supermarket. What would be great is if you could buy dim sum or fresh fish etc downstairs and have the staff cook something for you upstairs. Suggestion to management to consider maybe to branch out. Recommended.

Yet another romantic and lavishly expensive meal at our newly adopted favourite dining venue! A little under £13 for two people, bring your own candle for the "romantic" touch. Great place to stop over for a bite of good Chinese food, inexpensive and informal. This is where the Chinese takeaways n restaurants get their supplies from. It is like a staff canteen but none the worse for that.

Stopping off to shop at the North Circular Road branch (near Hangar Lane) to shop discovered there was a small cafeteria upstairs. Quite a busy place, with a small but very reasonably priced menu all freshly cooked on site. The staff were clearly very busy and somewhat harassed but remained efficiently calm despite.

We often stop at Hoo Hing when we are in the area it is a wholesale supermarket which is useful to stock up on Chinese and thai food, also very fresh bean sprouts. The upstairs has a canteen style eatery very basic, the dim sum is cheap and tasty definitely worth the money.

The food is cheap and so is the quality. We bought a large variety of food and ate just 10% of the food we ordered. This is the one off Hanger lane. In london. This is not a restaurant but a store like and there is a canteen at the top. The food arrived very quick. The place was really smelly. A world of difference between the outside view and the inside view.

First things first, this is not a "restaurant"! Hoo Hing is primarily a wholesale supermarket selling fresh, dry and frozen oriental food. The "restaurant" is a canteen, located on the mezzanine floor the supermarket. The canteen has a nice atmosphere with clean surroundings and you'll have a seat with panoramic views over the supermarket - quite enjoyable to dine and gaze down on the supermarket ins and outs and its shoppers if that's your kind of thing! The dishes/dimsum served are all items that are sold in the supermarket. So yes, the majority of the dimsum dishes are from the frozen food section of the supermarket. BUT, before you turn away at the mention of frozen, you should note that the frozen food dimsum sold in this wholesale supermarket are of the best quality frozen food dimsum items on the market. The "cook" was very friendly and greeted us with a smile and prepared the food in timely manner. We enjoyed the dimsum there and as the venue isn't a typical 'restaurant', the low prices meant that the food was of great value! We have since then returned on many occasions to buy the dimsum items from the supermarket to enjoy by steaming/frying at home. Recommended!

Hungry and want something cheap? This is the place to come for your Cantonese lunch. The food is no where near the quality of a standard restaurant but if you want a quick and "informal" lunch this is the place to be in.

If you are stuck in Hanger Lane (that is pretty much all the time) and need a quick meal, then detour to Hoo Hing supermarket and go upstairs (before 4pm) to their cafe which is their staff canteen - however it is an amazing staff canteen with proper wooden tables, and panoramic view over the supermarket. Order the food from the hatch and pay silly prices (£2.95 for wontun noodles, £3.95 for roast duck rice, between £1.99 and £2.50 for dim sum, 50p for tea) for excellent Chinese food. Then shop downstairs before returning to face the traffic with a smile on your face.
