Honi Poke - Hawaiian Poke Bowl Restaurant in Manchester

I had the most incredible katsu curry from Honi Poke yesterday. I have eaten there a few times and never had a bad meal. It’s consistently excellent. The Katsu Curry is particularly good. It’s become my go to place for a mid week lunch. Special shout out to the manager, Piotr, who always greets me with a smile and goes out of his way for his customers. It’s rare to find a lunchtime spot in Manchester City centre that delivers both excellent food and service. Would highly recommend!

I got lunch for me and my partner here, so good!! Food is great, great selection on the menu. Quick service. I have an awkward intolerance which the staff were really good about. They were super generous with the portions, and it's really tasty. Thank you

Opening hours are incorrect. Arrived at 20.30 looking forward to trying after the gym. Doors closed and locked with staff just sat on phones. After knocking on the window we were offered takeaway only because it takes an hour to clean, cleaning which was evidently not happening when we arrived.

Portion sizes have gone down, I had to go back into the shop to claim another scoop of tuna as I was only given 8 or 9 tuna chunks and the website shows 20 or so.

First one ever and it was beautiful

The only reason why I'm not giving one star is because the food is usually good, however, my last two orders have been extremely disappointing. This time i ordered sriracha salmon poke with quinoa. It arrived hot! Why would you serve raw fish over hot quinoa?? It was disgusting. Could not eat it. Also, topping portion sizes have significantly decreased in size recently.

Poor service and overpriced. I went yesterday for lunch. The place was empty and when I went to the counter and ordered, the member of staff asked me to order on an iPad. I went to place my order which was literally just the teriyaki tofu bowl, so I was confused when my food came and it had chicken on it. I explained that I’d ordered the tofu bowl and the staff member told me I had ordered extra chicken. I told her I didn’t as I don’t eat chicken and this is why I would have preferred to just order at the counter. She just looked at me confused so I had to ask her to make me another bowl which should have just been offered anyway from the outset. She never offered to refund the difference I’d apparently paid for the extra chicken either. They also don’t have WiFi which was a bit of an inconvenience as I was hoping to get some work done while I ate. Experience and service is everything and while the food was nice, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Hit by shrinkflation. Prices gone up and protein portions gone down. Not worth it for me any more.

This is used to be my go to on ubereats, but they recently limited the topping options to just 5 for build your own bowl. This is ridiculous for a poke bowl. I remember having the option to choose more than 9 toppings. While I always chose honi poke over others exclusively because of the massive selection of toppings (taste wise it’s not that special, I’ve had better poke bowls in my life), I probably will not order from here again unless they do something about it. Disappointed

Can we just talk about how amazing was the food?! It was our first time trying this place, we had a Groupon voucher. We ordered Katsu chicken curry and Teriyaki chicken, both highly recommended! We wanted the shrimp tempura option but unfortunately it wasn’t available. Staff was really friendly.

Was really looking forward to trying the chicken katsu, but everything in the bowl was inedibly cold. It can't have been being kept at a safe temperature. Quality was underwhelming— sauce tasted nasty and cheap (probably not helped by being stone cold). Shame, considering the price. The Wasabi Katsu microwave meals are half the price and far more delicious. Staff seem lovely though.

Overpriced for what is ultimately rice and a tiny bit of fish.

Never have I been in a poke shop where they actually bring out a scale to measure the toppings they put in the bowl. Good that they did because they didn’t even put enough according to their measurement manual. This is ridiculous customer experience. I’m a usual customer and I will never be back.

I don't know if it's bc it's a Friday night and you guys are to busy but my poke came with a very messy presentation, literally 3 cubes of mango, a lot of rice compared to the others topings, and it's nothing like in the picture (in my case I'm writing the review in time I got the food). Apart from that, the food is tasty.

Just wanted to share my recent experiences at Honi Poke. The seating area is often dirty with people not cleaning up after themselves and staff leaving it that way. In addition, the staff are related friendly however, there is a gentlemen tallish, bold, who isn’t very friendly. Not to mention that the food is slap bang average, better off going to Pret if you can.

loved finding a place in mcr for poke bowls!! nice options and you can build your own bowl. had the chicken katsu bowl and the rice, chicken and sauce were gorgeous - the slaw that came with it wasn't amazing though, and very very dry. Will try another dish next time!!

I got some things I didn't order (an extra juice and cakes) but none of the cooked food is ordered. The bag says 1 of 2 but the delivery rider only had the one bag, so we're now left hungry.

Daniel and Saadia are lovely and made me feel very welcome. My food was made quickly and looked great, and tasted incredible. Will definitely return next time I'm in town, especially if they are working.

Visited around 3pm on Friday 9th August 2024. Member of staff was super friendly and helpful explaining the concept. Opted for build your own. Thoroughly enjoyed half rice half slaw option. Feels much lighter for a hot day. Excellent value for money. Delicious food. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Came into this place, looks very clean always and the service is perfect, especially from a member of staff called ‘Daniel’, their food is amazing and i feel welcome, 100% will come again!

Food is sooo good but quite expensive

very good bowls with a lot of meat (I would have preferred more veggies but that’s a personal preference) and good service. I just wish they had reusable plates for when dining in, hence only 4 stars.

I love Honk Poke but the food at this location was a bit lacklustre. It wasn’t as flavourful as usual and they didn’t have quite a few ingredients that really made my usually dish fall short. The staff were really nice, polite and helpful but it was lacking atmosphere as it was very empty and no music was being played.

Food portions shocking & the food we received was cold. Won’t be ordering again.

To the girl serving us at 3pm Saturday, great service.Originally went for Avo/Mango, but wanted Salmon. Recommended Sriracha Mayo Poke, was delicious! And resolving the bubble tea problem quickly. Will be back.

Dear Honi Poke Management, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent visit to your Manchester location at 1 St Ann St, on April 18, 2024, at approximately 13:35. Upon arrival, I encountered a disorganized and disrespectful environment. Despite being the next in line, I was rudely shouted at by one of your staff members, who insisted I was not in the queue. This behavior not only embarrassed me but also reflected poorly on your establishment. Furthermore, the lack of basic customer service etiquette displayed by your staff member is unacceptable. Allow me to provide further detail regarding the queue situation. Upon entering, I observed one long-haired staff member behind the till and another short-haired staff member behind the fridge. A gentleman with a carry bag was at the till, waiting to pay, while another lady stood away from the till, observing the short-haired staff member prepare her bowl. When the gentleman left the till, the long-haired staff member proceeded to take my order. However, the short-haired staff member abruptly shouted at me, claiming I was not in the queue, despite two individuals standing behind me who arrived after I did. Even after the gentleman behind me confirmed my position, the short-haired staff member dismissively insisted she "couldn't see it," exacerbating the situation. Furthermore, I am deeply disappointed by the decline in food quality. While I previously enjoyed ordering from your establishment via Uber Eats, my recent in-person experience was subpar. The taro boba milk I ordered was not only chemically flavored, but the portion size had significantly decreased compared to previous orders. I have attached photos for your reference, highlighting the stark differences in quality and quantity. It is evident that there are significant shortcomings in both the training of your staff and the consistency of your food preparation. As a long-time resident of the UK and a frequent patron of various establishments, I expect a higher standard of service and product quality. I urge you to address these issues promptly and implement measures to improve both the training of your staff and the quality control of your food. I absolutely love these poke bowls. They are the best in town. I have tried quite a lot of them but I find Honi Poke to be the most authentic and flaversome. This is such a healthy good, can't recommend enough. The staff is amazing, the girls are so attentive. The place is always spotless.

I’m a regular costumer and I start by saying that Monika and all of the stuff are just fantastic. They always give me the best welcome and service ever always putting a smile on my face. The food as well is always fresh and tasty. Definitely a must try !!

We ordered our own bowl with salmon tuna and prawn with veggies coleslaw. It arrived without any prawns and Cole slaw and tasted very bland. Disappointed

Hmm not exactly sure how to rate this place. At first was pleasantly surprised when I saw they threw in other ingredients for free but the bowl was unbelievably spicy even though I hadn’t opted for it to be. Made it slightly unbearable 😅

Tried a salmon honi poke bowl, a katsu curry chicken and a teriyaki chicken. The teriyaki was great. The katsu curry was good too - although I expected a bit more chicken. The poke bowl was not that great, I did not feel the little salmon cubes were that good. At least it was not expensive given the location, around 11 quid a plate.

Overpriced only a tiny portion asked if eating in and charged more! Despite the place being empty! Won't waste money again!

As we were on a self-made food tour, my friend and I shared a bowl. There were plenty of ingredients/toppings to choose from, and it’s presented very prettily, but it’s simply not good enough value for money. By the time the exciting fruit, veg, fish etc has been eaten, what’s left is a bowl ¾ full of rice. They rather sneakily charge you a fair bit more to eat inside, too.

I ordered the Avocado & Mango Bowl. Paid for extra mango, crab salad and BBQ jackfruit. They sent me a small portion of rice, adamame and crab, less than half the bowl. No mango, avocado or jackfruit. It was an end of the night order, so they just threw whatever and sent it in a messy presentation. I didn't eat it cause I wouldn't trust them with food after that terrible service.

Fresh poke bowls made to order. I had the Honi poki bowl with salmon and mango, I liked the balance of textures and flavours! I liked the option of Japanese rice or brown rice. Great quick stop, casual place for lunch!

Ever since I tried a poke, always hoping to find somewhere good. Love this place, I chose honi poke but added seaweed, because I love seaweed, if the add ons weren’t so pricey I would have usually got the crab salad too. It was really refreshing and would definitely order it again! I would recommend the salmon over the tuna. I would definitely recommend the salmon over tuna.

I just made and order off Uber eats and it’s has no option for me to tell you how great your food really is I’ve been a chef for 12 years and I can honestly say it’s some of the freshest tasting light and healthy food I’ve tasted in a long time flavour combinations are amazing i basically just have everything i can fit in a bowl. Really tasty poke, clean and nice. Girls who work there are very friendly, one of them brought me a free cup of tea when I had caught, just because she was kind and attentive. I would recommend this place.

Best poke in Manchester - generous portion sizes, fresh ingredients, and lots of choice!

The salmon Honi Poke bowl was one of the best poke bowls I’ve eaten. Great portion size and they allow you to have half and half sushi, brown rices and veggies as your base too.

Loved the katsu chicken here, the cashier even gave me extra chicken when I liked it for free, definitely visiting again

My only complaint: cucumber is a bit over-pickled and overwhelming sour! Overall a great place for fresh, high quality healthy lunch, friendly service too.

I love poke and was pleased to see another poke cafe opening in the city. The staff were friendly and asked what I wanted and didn't want in my bowl. I tried the namesake Honi Poke, and it was tasty with just a hint of spiciness (even with the chili's - your chili tolerance may vary) My only gripe is the price at £10.95, but to be fair the other options were under a tenner so may be just because it's the namesake poke bowl. Would come again

I had the teriyaki chicken bowl here and it was not bad. I’m not a huge fan if Poke Bowls but this place looked pretty nice so decided to try it out. Service was good, staff are friendly here and the environment is nice and casual, not overly crowded. I think next time I will try a different bowl as the teriyaki sauce wasn’t to my liking. I do like the way they have all the nutritional and calorie information for every topping near the counter, which is useful personally as I like to know that. Price is the same as most other similar places.

Always come here and came today and the lady didn’t seem to know what she was doing. I asked for extra tuna with my honi poke which is salmon, she charged me but didn’t give me the tuna :( minimal on the salmon side too

I had the best experience here! Food AMAZING. Staff AMAZING! I felt extremely welcomed. Sat in aa cool little sun spot by the window to enjoy your bowl and do a bit of people watching. Blissful eating 10/10

Popped in for a work lunch, very relaxing environment. Simple food but fresh and tasty. The best part is the price, if you keen on to have some fresh made food but doesn’t want to spend fortune this is the place!

I had the falafel bowl to go as I didn't want to pay extra to dine in. I added an extra sauce, wasabi mayo to give it an extra kick. I ordered it with sushi rice. I could barely taste that the cucumber was pickled. I've never had this combination of food before but it was very nice especially the pineapple which was very fresh and the broccoli which wasn't crunchy. The wasabi mayo is hot and only a little is needed and the portions were big. I would say it was on the pricey side for a vegetarian dish. Would definitely try the chicken options if they are halal. The dining area is clean and spacious and they were well staffed to deal with the lunchtime crowd in the area.

Working my way through the menu, so far I have not found anything I don't like, have loved every bowl, my new go to place when working in the office. Everything is fresh and all put together in front of you,

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, wir waren heute zu viert in der Stadt unterwegs und probierten diesen Poke Store. Es war gut voll, dennoch ging die Zubereitung relativ schnell von statten. Es wurde eine Pappbox mit frischen Lebensmitteln gefüllt, ein Deckel drauf und ab ging es damit in die Stadt. Der Verzehr vor Ort brachte einen Aufschlag von 2 Pfund, was bei 4 Essen den Preis eines 5. Essens ausmachte. Daher ein Stern Abzug. Wir waren super zufrieden, es hat allen geschmeckt, von daher kann ich diese gesunde Alternative sehr gern weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank fürs lesen euer Gordon

The mix was bad for the falafel 🥙 They said to me the mayo is not hot but it was too hot for me 🥲 The falafel was not tasty

8 out of 10 times they are out of stock/ not offering bubble tea. I thought this is part of the normal menu not an ad hoc addition to it? Very disappointing. When they do serve it it’s brilliant. Poke bowls also nice and fresh.
