ordered quite a few dishes, staff were really sweet and accommodating. The beef ho fun was bouncy and the sauce was nice however the beef in the noodles lacked flavour and didn’t hold the sauce very well. The chicken chow mein had very thin noodles which i loved and the chicken was soft and tender. the dumplings in chilli oil were amazing!! the chilli oil was fragrant and delish and paired well with the prawn dumplings. The fried green beans were mediocre - didn’t have much flavour but just a kick, felt quite oily too. The spring rolls were okay too - the sauce paired with it tastes almost like ketchup and would’ve preferred a sweet chilli dip. Overall the food was okay with some things being really good.

It’s good to have a dim sum restaurant in the area. I would have liked more selections, as we found the selections a bit limited. I’ve been here a couple of times before and the food is decent but the portions aren’t huge. The plate of fried soft-shell crab for example is covered in batter and some onion, there isn’t actually that much crab in the dish.

Me and my brothers went here last year for our birthday in 2024 and now we came here again for our birthday in 2025. The atmosphere is a tranquil yet pleasant and calm place, not too loud, you could hear each other speak! The food is ace - every single dish we ordered was so delicious. Quality and fresh food is what you are getting every time, so I would 10000% recommend this place. What you pay for is what you get, well worth it! What makes this place stand out compared to other Chinese restaurants is that they serve HALAL food, which is rare in my opinion for a Chinese restaurant to offer this. I will be visiting here again soon

I came here today with an ex colleague but I'm sad to say it was highly disappointing in terms of quality of food and lack of choice. I understand it's marketed as a halal restaurant but it wasn't clear that there wouldn't be items for non Muslims so when I wanted char siu baos, I was saddened to be offered tiny chicken buns, which were tasteless. They also gave us cheung funs without any sauce which was strange. Don't bother if you are looking for authentic Chinese food! Go to Chinatown

I had to give it 5 stars despite the service which I’ll get into later. This had to simply be the best selection of dim sum I’ve had in my life! It’s up there with Din Tai Fung and even Hong Kong itself which I recently came back from. The nuance of flavours, the texture, amazing! We ordered beef and ginger fried dumplings, crab and chicken siu mai, sea bass roll, steamed prawn and chive dumplings, prawn wontons in spicy sauce but the stand out for me were the crab xiao long baos! So much so that I ordered another round of them. All halal, which is a real treat because that’s hard to find in the UK with Chinese cuisine. OK, so the down side, they were slapping on that “service charge” I asked it to be taken off as it was a discretionary service charge and not compulsory, I got asked “why do you want it taken off?” Erm because I’ve paid for your services and the food and I do not wish 12.5% to be added on top. It should be MY choice if I want to tip. Call me whatever you want, but because you’re making me do something, I don’t want to do it even more. She reluctantly took it off after saying she will have to explain to her manager why she took it off and next time I can pay cash and get 10% discount (do the math, still some service charge in there with 10% off). Do whatever makes you happy? If you don’t like that conversation, pay it. I don’t mind the conversation and am always polite and explain my reasons. Know your rights also, service charges that are discretionary or voluntary are not subject to taxes. If they are forcing you to pay it, ask if this is compulsory because if it is, it will be subject to taxes and you can report that to HMRC to make sure they know it’s a compulsory service charge. Otherwise, it’s just a tax free benefit for every single meal they get. I’m not saying do that, I’m just saying no one should MAKE you pay a discretionary fee of any kind. Will I be back? Yes because the dim sum is incredible. And I may or may not leave a tip which will not be dictated by them, but me. Like the good old days. 👍🏽

The food was really flavoursome but unfortunately service was slow and chaotic, which is a shame (despite a 12.5% service charge being automatically added to the bill); all food arrived at the table just the acceptable side of lukewarm where I would expect it to be piping hot. We were not offered glasses for our drinks but were left to drink from a bottle and a can with a straw in it. It would also be helpful to have a spoon for each dish to be able to serve onto each person's plate. The team may have been having a bad day on the occasion I visited, but it definitely had an effect on my dining experience and may influence whether I go there again.

Cheung fun was the best bit of food there, but the rest was a just ok, and the shallot pancakes were deep fried and cold in the middle. The vegetable dumplings fell apart when picked up. I literally saw the TikTok video today and decided I had to come and try it. The service was excellent—friendly and helpful. The food didn't take long to arrive, and they were quick to provide everything we asked for. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious—a true explosion of flavors. We started with the chilli prawn dumplings, they were filled with king prawns and the chilli sauce was delicious.. There was 4 for 6.50£ we forgot to take a picture as it looked phenomenon so there are 2 in the picture 😅 but it was worth it.. It was my first time trying mapo tofu, as it’s usually made with pork, but this version with beef was incredible. The beef was cooked to perfection, melting in my mouth. The sauce was spicy and numbing with the Szechuan pepper. I loved it! My husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken along with the chicken chow mein. The noodles were thin but packed with flavor, and the sweet and sour dish had a great balance of tanginess and sweetness, complemented by plenty of vegetables. The chicken was crispy and soaked up the sauce perfectly without becoming soggy. I would definitely recommend this place, and we’re already planning our next visit! ❤️

This is from Saudi Eats in London, with 80k+ followers across social platforms. Instagram & Tiktok: saudieats.ksa London has so many Chinese restaurants but an authentic fully halal spot is really rare to find. Hong kong got some of the best dumplings in chilli oil and cheung fun. Each of the dim-sums were just so fascinating. We would come back even if they only sell that. 🙈😅 Their Roast Duck was another masterpiece. Having lived in Hong Kong for 4.5 years, I know authentic Cantonese food and dim sum when I eat it. The Hong Kong Restaurant menu looks impressive but that’s where it ends. The food was lackluster and loaded with garlic and sauces to cover a lack of fresh, quality ingredients. Two dishes were made incorrectly and had to be sent back and prepared again. The menu is way overpriced, too. There are some excellent Cantonese / Hong Kong style restaurants in London but this is not one of them.

I really wanted to like this place... halal dim sum are a rare find! But it just wasn't great. The place smelt like stale water and we noticed that as soon as we walked in. The waitress was clearly sick - I don't blame her, but the management shouldn't have had on shift. And then the food was just 'meh'. The noodles were a bit too salty, the dumplings were very basic - had the prawn and chive and there was no noticeable flavour, and the spring rolls tasted like the ones you get in the freezer and not home-made. Overall a very average experience, wouldn't say its worth travelling to.

Let’s talk about the food first. Crispy duck: Fried and crispy, not dry at the same time, very juicy, top quality👍 Red oil dumplings: This sauce is not just "spicy" and boring, it is spicy with a bit of sourness but not too salty. It is very layered, with visible shrimp meat and real ingredients. Poplar nectar: There are too many shops selling poplar nectar in London. This one is full of sincerity, with fresh grapefruit slices and mango pulp, and the sago is not soft in texture. Tiramisu: The low alcohol content and the perfect softness of the bread make it the best value for money at this price. The waiters are very enthusiastic, patient and talkative, and take great care of me. Environment: A very relaxed and pleasant dining environment, perfect for dates or small group dinners. A very recommended restaurant.

I recently visited HK Cuisine and had an absolutely delightful dining experience! We got the following as it was recommended by my friend. Chicken & Shiitake Mushroom Bun: The bun was perfectly soft and the filling was savory and rich, with a great balance between the chicken and shiitake mushrooms. You will definitely need soya sauce with this as the bun is dry. Steamed Prawn Dumpling: These dumplings were fresh and delicious, with plump and juicy prawns encased in a delicate wrapper. It's very good when it's fresh and hot so definitely don't let it just sit there and let it get cold. Beef with Ginger & Onion Dumpling: These were a standout! The beef was tender and flavorful, with the ginger and onion adding a wonderful aromatic quality. You can definitely get the taste for the ginger which adds good flavour to the dumplings Chicken & Prawn and Bean Curd Rolls: These rolls were crispy on the outside and filled with a tasty mix of chicken, prawn, and bean curd. The combination of textures was fantastic. Sweet and Sour Chicken: This classic dish did not disappoint. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. Deep Fried Prawn Dumpling: These were delightfully crispy and packed with juicy prawn filling. A great option if you’re a fan of fried dim sum. The venue itself was welcoming and well-kept, with a pleasant ambiance that made for a relaxing meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and super helpful explaining to us everything on the menu. I wish google had the feature of giving zero stars to restaurants, as this was quite literally the worst food I have ever had the displeasure of tasting in my entire life. I can deal with mediocrity, which was the best way to describe the chicken chow mein, flavourless and plain. The crispy beef was way too hard to consume, but as I was hungry, I ignored it. The thing I could not ignore however, was the literal rotten prawns in the prawn fried rice that was served to my friend. She told me to taste one, and my face dropped from sheer shock and horror. I immediately lost my appetite, and had to spit out the mouthful (something I have never done, mind you.) When I say rotten, I mean left out of the fridge for 3 days, disgusting, vile, rancid ROTTEN. I have no choice but to believe people are being paid to post good reviews, as my experience was treacherous to say the least. OBVIOUSLY won’t be returning. If you choose to believe ANY review, I implore you to take this one into deep consideration. Waitress was lovely though.

We were reassured that the dim sum was cooked fresh and we had no complaints. The food was excellent. We’ve sampled dim sum all over London and this was up there. Fresh, flavoursome and beautifully cooked. We recommend the prawn cheung fun, xiao long bao, Vietnamese spring roll and Singapore noodles. The main complaint is that the portion sizes are on the small side. You’ll get three small dim sum per serving for around £6.00. However, for two people we got four plates of dim sum and a portion of delicious Singapore Noodles for £22.50pp (excluding drinks) and that was plenty. Be warned, some of the other dishes in the à la carte menu look disproportionately pricey.. £12.00 for some green vegetable for example?! So check the menu ahead of time for prices.

Arranged to meet up with my cousin in Islington to visit Hong Kong and just from looking at the menu(with visuals) it was evident that this dining experience would transcend the ordinary. The seamless fusion of impeccable service, and, above all, an orchestra of flavours, made it an evening to remember. The quickness of service at Hong Kong Restaurant deserves a standing ovation. The staff's efficiency in delivering a delightful dining experience without compromising on quality is truly commendable. It added a dynamic element to our evening, allowing us to savour every moment without unnecessary delays. Now, let's delve into the symphony of flavours that graced our table. The starters, featuring the delectable Xiao Long Bao and Prawn and Chive dim sum, were a splendid introduction to the feast that awaited us. The salt and pepper squid, a culinary revelation, set a new standard for this classic dish, and the fried shredded crispy beef was nothing short of superb. Moving on to the mains, the signature Roast Duck was a masterpiece in tenderness and taste. Each bite was a journey through layers of flavour, leaving us in awe of the chef's expertise. The Singapore noodles, both flavourful and delicately spiced, allowed us to appreciate the true essence of the dish without overwhelming heat. The Morning Glory Greens, expertly prepared with a delectable garlic sauce, showcased the chef's mastery in bringing out the best in fresh produce. The choice of garlic sauce was indeed a stroke of brilliance, enhancing the overall dining experience. The King Prawn Fried Rice lived up to its royal name – the prawns were not only colossal but also juicy, making each mouthful a succulent delight. The perfectly cooked rice served as a canvas for the rich flavours, creating a harmonious marriage of textures and tastes. Our culinary journey was further enhanced by a delightful bottle of Pinot Grigio Rosato. This blush wine was a revelation, one of the nicest I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Its subtle notes perfectly complemented the diverse array of flavours on our table, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the evening. In conclusion, Hong Kong Restaurant is a culinary gem that flawlessly combines swift service with an unparalleled gastronomic journey. From the first bite of dim sum to the last forkful of King Prawn Fried Rice, every dish was a testament to the chef's dedication to perfection. As I sipped the last drops of the exquisite Pinot Grigio Rosato, I found myself already planning my next visit to explore more treasures off the menu. Hong Kong Restaurant has left an indelible mark, and I will most certainly be back for another enchanting experience.

We turned up and they never had any space as they were packed so we ordered a takeaway and even though the time limit for dim sums had passed, the staff member was kind enough to accommodate and give us dim sum

The staff do not have table manners in serving. They got our order wrong twice and did not believe us. Few staff members require training in taking orders and communicating across to others. They had double counted few items we ordered when we only had 1. The manager expected us to pay service charge and was begging us because they work hard. If you provided a good service I don't mind paying service charge. Its the customers discretion and its a choice of the customer. learn to do a job properly first.

My food was clearly cooked earlier and thrown into the oil to be reheated! You could taste and tell it was cooked earlier. It was overpriced as well. Please don’t come here. It was also freezing.

Good food at very reasonable prices! We made a reservation for a Saturday and we're really impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff. We ordered the dim sum and enjoyed it all with our favourites being the prawn and chilli oil dumplings. We also got the crispy duck pancakes fir which the portion was 6 pancakes which we thought was a little small but my personal favourite dish. We ended with the peanut noodles which were very good. Overall, we were really happy with the food considering we paid £25 pp. The food is also halal so would highly recommend if you want a halal and authentic Chinese food

i barely give reviews and they never asked me to either but the food was so good that i just had to. The only negative i can say was that it was extremely loud and busy but then again that is telling of how good this place is.. the service was great and the chef was SOOO lovely and made us feel special. he was very humble and accommodating. They dont serve any pork which made me feel very comfortable, eating halal. Lastly, the food was 10/10!!!! I got the kungpao chicken, cripsy beef, mongolian beef. Highly recommend!!! 🤤🤤🤤

We live in the local area and have enjoyed many a meal at Holy Pitta throughout the years. However sadly it has gone rapidly downhill lately... Firstly the food is not as good as it used to be. The fresh cut potatoes used for the chips have been replaced with subpar frozen ones. Secondly the staff are not happy and it rubs off on the customers. We didn't feel welcome like we used to and it was not a fun experience. Thirdly the new menu is super confusing, too big, and doesn't feel Greek anymore. It's such a shame as we used to love visiting here!
