Unfortunately I dident check reviews before hand as I was busy. I can confirm worst Chinese eve spring rolls split open full of grease went in bin, salt n pepper chips greasy cold soggy went in bin.crispy chicken was tough chewy went in bin, rice tasted odd ate most of it wish I chucked it away now my fingers crossed I don't go down with food poisoning. Places like this need shutting down!

Ordered from here last night. Since then, everyone that ate has been unwell. Vomiting, cramps, feverish. Young child very unwell. Will be reporting to Food Standards Agency as previous reviews have also had issues.

Never tried this before but saw it on just eat. Huge portions which was great! Food pretty good too! Salt n pepper bit salty but hey that's the name of the dish! On time too n friendly driver

great atmosphere and fast and convinient service. the staff where extremely friendly providing a smooth experience and best of all the food was still piping hot and delicious tasted as if i ate it straight away.

Was reasonably priced and they gave me a double portion of duck however! It was covered in 5 spice which isn’t a great seasoning at the best of times especially when duck is full of so much natural flavour

Don’t bother. Customer service terrible. Son of owner clearly doesn’t want to work there and his poor attitude exudes from him on the phone and in person. Food substandard to Top Wok just up the road so I’d recommend going there as they really value their returning customers and the food is best in the area.

Absolutely the best Chinese take away about, i have been ordering from here for about 5 years now. Always amazing food. Ribs and duck with mushrooms is the best.

Appetisers were over cooked, couldn't even chew the ribs. King prawns were soggy and extremely salty. I think there was a mistake with the seaweed, like accidentally spilled too much sugar into it, was pure sugar. And the rice & chicken was solid in the shape of the tub. Ate a few mouthfuls and unfortunately threw the rest away. Didn't feel too good the day after either. The lady who delivered was nice though.

Good service, polite and friendly very convenient however not the best just our local ,however we ordered food again from here, my partner was well all day but the second we ate the food within half an hour my partner had severe cramps (thinking it might be something that he reacted to like a sauce) but the next day he has been bed bound, cold, severe sweats, fever, shaking, no energy and nausea. All the classic signs of food poisoning... Unfortunately this will be the last time we order here as cannot risk this again. I think this needs to be checked out.

I just recived the special chow mein from here, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. As someone with a mushroom allergy, I was disappointed to discover mushrooms in the dish, especially since the regular chow mein does not contain them. This unexpected ingredient can cause an allergic reaction, which put a damper on what should have been an enjoyable meal. Typically, the chow mein is known for its dry and tasty flavour, with more emphasis on the noodles rather than a saucy consistency. However, the special chow mein I received had an excessive amount of gravy-like sauce, transforming it into more of a noodle and gravy mixture. This departure from the usual style was unexpected and detracted from the overall taste and texture of the dish. Furthermore, the absence of chicken was particularly noticeable. In the regular chow mein, I've always enjoyed the tender and flavorful chicken pieces that complement the noodles. However, in the special chow mein, there was not chicken at all. As a result, I regretfully cannot recommend the special chow mein to others, especially for a chinese lover. I hope the restaurant takes note of these issues and considers refining their special chow mein to meet customers' expectations and authenticity.

Ordered a takeaway they said had no drivers so be about an hour phone several times kept being fobbed off. Called 2 hours ten mins to be told it's no where near ready. Absolutely disgusting and now we are without food. Would Def not order again

Fresh food that taste just as good as it sounds. Meal prep time was fast aswell as it was ready as i got there!!!

I have been using this takeaway for several years but I won’t be going back again after tonight’s meal. Ordered about 8 dishes and had them delivered. Every dish was under cooked and the coating was sad and soggy. When we complained, we highlighted that some of the meat was poor quality and the reply was they use SPAM. !!! The last time I ate this was 50 years ago at school. It was rubbish then! The whole meal was an insult to real Chinese food and they refused to discuss our complaint and would not refund our bill of almost £60. Their compromise was “ We’ll do better next time” Well guess what…..there won’t be a next time. Shocking customer service skills. Have they changed chef or just complacency.? 30% of the food was large slices of onion. Whole meal inedible. Took photos but they weren’t interested. AVOID.

Was a bit dissappointed that no chow me in on the menu but chop suey was quite nice. The mussels had a nice taste but way over cooked they were quite chewy so won't be ordering them again. My partner had pork which was also quite nice

Southbourne struggles for a good and dependable Chinese take-a-way and so after some complimentary local social media posts about this one I thought I'd try again. I was impressed. Great fresh food this time. The Shredded Beef was superb - crispy and moist as it should be.

For order we gad to wait 2 hrs. Even expected delivery was still too late. Food was not fully fried and chicken raw. Strongly not recomended.

Satay chicken (main) was good however all the other food was too sweet. Ribs (salt and chilli) were well cooked but not spicy and very sweet. Crispy seaweed was so sweet, tonnes of sugar I think there must have been a mistake. Got free spring rolls which was nice

Arrived late, the plain chow mein I ordered came with chicken in. I'm vegetarian so can't eat this. Hope they can do better in the future.

Don’t bother with this takeaway unless you like waiting 2 hours for lukewarm food. Used to be good but the last few times have been awful. Have emailed a complaint but they’re clearly not interested.

Great delivery experience and well priced. Noodles looked burned but tasted good. Chicken curry was a mess in the box, looked more like sweet and sour and tasted bland. I think the chef forgot to season the curry as once seasoned at home, it to was decent. Probably 3.5 stars but not a 4 hence my rating of 3

Some of the best noodles I’ve ever had, and I’m Asian. Excellent timing, the food was delivered earlier than expected and was still nice and hot. Prawn crackers, noodles, and siao mai all exceeded expectations. 100% will try again!

We have used Hong Kong Kitchen for 13 years but no longer. The first thing we noticed was the sauce pot for the special appetisers was almost empty. I thought it had leaked in the bag but when I phoned they seemed to think this was normal. See the pic and judge for yourselves. Ribs were virtually meat free, crackers were stale, duck was clearly yesterday’s (definitely not fresh). One main course was fine but the portion of chips was the smallest we’ve had from here. I think we’re off somewhere else 😞

The Hong Kong kitchen was recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed! The food was the best Chinese that I have had for years. The duck and pork dish (#83)was sublime, and the mixed,special chow mein (#87) delicious. The restaurant is spotlessly clean which was a big plus for me. I picked up our order but they do deliveries.

Apart from the reconstituted chicken in the Chinese chicken curry, it was delicious. The dim sum was particularly superb.

As a family with teenage boys we have tried most of the local Chinese takeaways. Some are very poor and most just selling very average food. Hong Kong kitchen seems to be the only one with consistent quality at reasonable prices.

Really good food with very gloopy plum sauce for the crispy duck. They delivered quickly but hadn't warned us they wanted payment in cash.

Went to order some food and saw that one of the chefs was not wearing a mask when he was cooking our order. Everyone else had a mask on apart from him and I would have expected that in the current climate, people in the catering industry would be a bit more hygienic when they prepare food!

First time we’ve tried here, very impressed! Great portion size, dishes absolutely delicious and piping hot. Will definitely be ordering here from now on.

Had a take away from here recently. First time we’ve tried this place. One of the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a few!) We’ve tried a few locally and have always been left a little disappointed. We had noodles and the Vegetables were very fresh and not mushy. Spring rolls really crispy. My husband’s chilli crispy beef in sauce was apparently crispy (rather than soggy as he’s had countless times from other places) with a great chilli kick. Delivery quick. Well done!!

October 11. We visited this place for a takeaway, only it was on our way home and this was after 9pm. The aromas were lovely but when we tucked in, it was clearly the most awful meal we had ever had, either commercial or homemade. Special fried rice had luncheon meat and was blade and dry. The king prawn noodles were burnt blade and dry. Spring rolls had clearly been made in advance with burnt fillings. To be honest it was so horribly disgusting that the Labradors wouldn't touch it. We phoned, they said oh, no apology. Taking back would have cost more than the 'food'.

Sweet and sour balls....very sweet sauce. unable to eat and thrown away, chicken "balls" are chicken nuggets... pork "balls" could break a window nicely, hard and dry. Chow main...sloppy mush. Small pancake rolls for the price and not sure what exactly was in them. 1st visit not impressed, thought would try again and still rubbish, this will be last time, luckily other lovely takeaways in the area, Top Wok, Dragon Palace to name a few.

This is my first trip advisor review ever !! but I am so upset with the customer service and apparently I am never allowed to order from here again because I complained that my order was incorrect we have used this takeaway several times and I order every time crispy lamb ordered the same this time as soon as I arrived I opened it and it’s crispy duck !! I ring them I am wrong apparently it’s definitely lamb !! Why would I bother ringing back and telling them order is incorrect but unless I take it back to the takeaway and they can taste it !! The clue bring in the word takeaway after long day I ordered food to be delivered !! No solution offered at this stage I eat half of it it’s duck !! Ring back again as I took photo you can see it’s duck from photo offered to email this at this point manager after getting very fed up with me they say they will refund me but I am no longer aloud to order from there !! That’s a first banned for daring to complain to a takeaway the shame is the food is excellent and I have done nothing but recommend this takeaway even though pricer than others ...I was not interested in a refund and as I am not aloud to order from there again not sure how that’s going to happen all I wanted was my correct order not much to ask we all make mistakes funny my order was 2a on menu and the duck 2 so could be entered wrong I don’t mind ...this btw second time I been told I am wrong ..I am guessing they must be so busy and doing so well it does not matter and that the customer is never right......I was going to take some back to them so they can see it’s duck in next few days but with attitude like I just had I rather spend my money elsewhere .. btw I have been in catering industry for 30 years so been told they look and taste similar really

Had a lovely take away meal here. Menu boards as you walk in has limited choice and at first glance you think that’s all they offer. I asked if they do chow mien and was told yes, to look in the menu (leaflet) the leaflet menu was quite extensive but it’s availability wasn’t readily made known. Anyway, lovely meal, very quick service and very tasty result and piping hot. Will definitely return.

Nuestra última experiencia aquí no fue buena, pero Southbourne está luchando por conseguir una comida china decente y, como el asesor de viajes se ve saludable, pensamos que intentaríamos nuevamente. La comida estaba bien, excepto por el pato cristy. Vino con 'trozos' de pepino y ya sin hueso en una caja de cartón. La carne era pobre y nos preguntábamos de dónde había salido el pato: graso y no crujiente. Si ordena un pato de cuatro patas, espera obtener un pato de un cuarto, no un cartón de carne sospechosa, mucha grasa.

Overall a great Chinese- only issue I had was the sweet n sour chicken balls. The batter didn’t seem fresh and was not crispy- chicken was dry and didn’t taste fresh. Everything else was hot and tasty.

Volvimos a este plato como lo habíamos usado en el pasado, pero esta vez la comida era extremadamente pobre. Los panqueques que acompañaban al pato crujiente estaban secos y polvorientos, el pato también estaba seco y la salsa Hoisin era espesa y pegajosa. El plato principal era terrible, sin sabor y el pollo no sabía a pollo y el arroz debe haber sido cocinado por un largo tiempo, ya que era bastante pesado. Ahora no es una comida para llevar que recomendaríamos.

Hong Kong Kitchen have just relocated to Iford which is closer to home. Called my order in as we left Bournemouth in a cab, and it arrived as we did. Perfect timing 👍👍😀😀 The food is always, MSG FREE, well cooked, fresh, plentiful and delicious.

Back in May we thought we'd found our new regular Chinese takeaway. We were wrong. Something has happened in the past few months - the food is now average or below average whereas before it was excellent. Soggy food. Not tasty. Try somewhere else.

We rented a house in Southborne with 18 guests and ordered a takeaway meal from Hong Kong Kitchen, it arrived within 20 minutes, was hot and very tasty! Great service with sensible prices and free delivery!

Parece que puede haber encontrado un nuevo regular para llevar chino. Excelente comida servida rápidamente. Sin embargo, pierde un punto porque algunas de las porciones eran pequeñas, un montón de espacio vacío en el recipiente (crujientes de pollo ternera frío/azúcar). Intentaremos de nuevo, pero también en otro lugar si las raciones nos decepcionó de nuevo. No sé por qué tantas llevar hacer esto, seguramente una economía falsa en el largo plazo.

This is the best Chinese takeaway I have ever been to! Their menu suits the entire family. The only downside is that they aren't on Justeat or hungryhouse although they do deliver and take card over the phone.

I'll start by saying after having lived in Bournemouth for years and having tried many takeaways this one is definitely one of the best. For several reasons, the staff are really nice and patient and good at explaining what certain dishes are is you're not too sure and they always say please and thank you which is vital. The food itself is so good that I have recommended it to multiple friends who now don't go anywhere else. I find most chinese to be sludgy and low quality as well as sometimes reheated which is unacceptable. All the dishes here are always and I mean always freshly cooked, the pork is of high quality in my opinion and gristle is hardly ever found. There is also no MSG which means they aren't masking rubbish food with flavour enhancers. I usually go for a noodle dish some sweet and sour balls and a tub of rice. This usually costs around £10-£12 depending on which noodle dish chosen and the meat quantity in it. I think this is more than reasonable as you easily get enough noodles and rice for two I just have a massive appetite. Having said that I usually stick some in the fridge to reheat the next day. The set menus are also very good with the duck dishes being my favourite and all are very generous on the pancakes which is VITAL. Pancakes cost pennies and the amount of places I have been to where they give you maybe 8 pancakes for a whole half duck is ridiculous. Also the garnish that comes with the duck (sliced spring onion and cucumber) you can tell is freshly prepared when you order as it is moist and the hoi-sin sauce to accompany it is second to none. Also with the set menus you also get tons of rice which is brilliant. One last point to summarise is that the delivery is always speedy and free so in short I will always come back to this place, as will all my friends.

Due to family circumstances we had 3 takeaways from Hong Kong Kitchen over 4 days.My partner who is very ill loves there soups and veggie spring rolls.We ordered a variety of dishes from salt and chilli prawns ,chicken in black bean sauce,rice etcAs usual it was outstanding,arrived quickly and piping hot.We always use hong kong kitchen, its local and just round the corner.The ingredients are of good quality. Please can you do little short ribs.

My partner had his 50th yesterday. Two weeks before we'd received a flier and I'd ordered a delivery for my birthday. It was gorgeous and I decided that get the same for him. Unfortunately I didn't realize they don't open at lunchtimes until a week ago. I called them and because there were 14 for lunch they agreed to do it for us and it was again brilliant. They made changes i asked for and rounded down the price too. Top woks ribs are better in our view, but overall, for food and service Hong Kong Kitchen are the best in the area. Thank you.

I order from here on a regular basis and have never had a bad thing to say about their food. Delivery is always prompt and if it is going to take longer than they've said they will call back and let me know. They are very flexible and allow you to change things to how you like. I have tried a number of different chinese takeaways and restaurants in Southbourne and Bournemouth and I personally think that this one is the best.

My wife loves this place along with my kids, I personally prefer Lucky House but they don't deliver. The food is always fresh and well cooked, I personally don't rate their fried rice but that's my personal preference and my family would totally disagree with me! Delivery service is swift and always with a smile, if they sorted the special fried rice to MY personal preference I would use them solely! Give them a try, good value and fresh food.

I am really shocked that people think this is a decent Chinese !!! I should of guessed when I saw how cheap the dishes were but I wasn't from around this area and it was near by. Either the reviews are made up or those that wrote the reviews have no taste buds what so ever. The food was full of colouring. I have a bright red 'yellow bean chicken' that tasted of sugar . My husband had the Thai sweet and sour, the sauce was like water. Bad, terrible waste of money . 1/10.

I only ever order from this takeaway and have recommended to over 20 different people who now don't order from anywhere else either.Staff are absolute gems and can't do enough for you. It would be brilliant if they could open a restaurant, as I could almost guarentee that it would be packed day in, day out. I'm local to the takeaway so delivery is always very fast and efficient. I have visited friends and also ordered from here on countless occasions and again, still fantastic service.I really can't recommend this place enough. Most recommended dishes are the Smoked Shredded Chicken (Everyone LOVES THIS!), the vegetable spring rolls and the spicy chicken wings (all round crowd pleaser) among a whole lot of others.I've tried 90% of the menu and everything is loooovely! I was motivated by the first reviewer to visit this establishment last night and I am pleased to say I was not dissapointed. The food was fresh, tasty and very well cooked. I have eaten many Chinese takeaways over the years, across a number of counties, and will say this is one of the best I have ever tasted.The food was ready quickly and the gentleman behind the counter friendly and helpful. Hidden away between Southbourne & Tuckton and parallel to the main Cranleigh Road is this fairly anonymous looking takeaway. No enormous stone effigies or strings of elegant lanterns here, this place is all about the food and the speed at which it gets delivered. Phone ahead to collect and you may as well get straight in your car, turn up unannounced and place your order at the counter and you will not have to wait longer than 10 minutes.Food is prepared in full view of the waiting area and in my opinion it's the freshest, most authentic Chinese in the area. The menu is extensive including Chinese, Thai and chips for the less adventurous patrons. My vegetarians always go for the tofu in black bean sauce with broccoli & chinese leaves, whereas I tend to favour duck with green peppers although I have recently switched to the Thai green curry with extra chillis!This is a friendly, family run business serving the local community and the quality of the food and value for money is simply exceptional. Seek out this hidden gem, I guarantee you will be back for more again and again!
