Hong Kong House Chinese Takeaway in Central Bedfordshire

the wait is too long about 10 people have ordered after me and got there food hefore me and its almost been an hour

1st complaint for me, this is where I normally order from but tonight food was well below par , too much salt in all of the food, king prawn chow mein, king prawn in oyster sauce, salt & pepper chicken, all too salty. Might be a one off but may avoid in the future. Shame really

Got a takeaway whilst staying at a nearby campsite. Had a meal for one which was a decent size portion. The food was good.

After recently moving to Shefford this was our first time going to Hong Kong House and the food from here is so lovely. I've eaten from New Ray's and this IMHO is better. We shall be using Hong Kong House again very soon

This is one of my local Chinese takeaway, never had a bad experience of the food or service.

Reliable, enjoyed every dish I've had so far. Less glutinous than other places.

The food is delicios! This is my soul chinese take away! I was never disappointed with whatever food I 've ordered. Staff is pleasant and quick!

Pretty gutted in myself! When it comes to food, only a food safety of 5 matters so god only knows why I sank to a 4! When it comes to food folk, DO NOT SETTLE for ANYTHING LESS than 5!!!! Spent just under £14 for some of the most pathetic food I have ever had the misfortune to pay for, never mind order! Food tasted and despite all the MSG in the world, it couldn’t and didn’t help! Price, I must have had one two many because no stone cold sober person would order food of such poor quality and quantity, (how can egg friend rice be barely luke warm?) Portion size is pathetic! Have had many a Chinese takeaway over the years and 90% of the time, I have been unable to eat everything and felt guilty for leaving uneaten food because of the generosity, this place left me making cheese on toast because I was still hungry. Would not recommend and I’d rather starve than use again. Save your money, stomach, avoid.

Always good food from here. Pick up only. Had a large order at the weekend for friends and everything was spot on. No omissions and ready quickly.

We are ordering noodles with meat/etc from time to time but only from them it's always good.

Bit pricey, but the foods pretty good all the time.

Ordered king prawn curry, very watery bland and not even a hint of spice, chicken satay was hard dry and very bland, dumpling where a small portion with no dipping sauce, chow mein was okish. Definitely won't be returning.

Really fancied just dunking some chicken balls into some sweet and sour sauce so ordered randomly here last night and honestly they were 10/10. Best chicken balls ive had in such a long time. Proper chicken, not too greasy and the sauce wasn't too tangy. Will defo order from here again!

Not what i thought it would small portion and the taste well by a ready Chinese from Tesco Morrisons etc and save your money

Our local favourite - love the food here every time. Chow mein dishes and duck pancakes in particular! Staff very friendly and orders are very quick.

Ordered from here for the first time today and was really impressed. Food was fresh, hot and not at all greasy. Generous amount of prawns in the black bean sauce dish and nice chicken breast in the chicken chow mein.

The food I’ve tried here is faultless. If you want a greasy drunken Chinese , then this will be wasted. The food is fresh, hot and tasty. The chow mien was grease free with white tender pieces of chicken. Really enjoyed our meal , definitely didn’t finish eating and felt like I wasted my money. Excellent food 👍

We’ve recently moved to Shefford and thought we’d try out the local takeaways. I can confidently say, that this is the worst Chinese food that we’ve ever had! All meat undercooked. One star, do not recommend.

So I phoned at opening time and gave them 1hour and 30 mins to prep food. We turned up and they hadn't a clue. Waited half an hour for the food. I genuinely think when I placed the order they just didn't bother preparing it. We had the set dinner for four and in all honesty the food was greasy and bland. Wouldn't bother again and each dish tasted pretty much like the next.... Shame

Our go to Chinese in the Local Area. Food is always Fresh, Hot and tasty what more can I say. The Chicken balls are very good, the sweet and sour sauce is yum too 😋

Food is good unfortunately has got very expensive. I’m sure they dodge a lot of tax so there’s no need to raise the prices so much.

Our go to local take away: the food is consistently great, and just what you need when you have a good take away craving! Great prices and lovely staff, too! Highly recommend (and even though they don't deliver, the pick up is definitely worth it!!)

Don't be put off by the shop front, i was! as I've recently moved into the area and it looks a right mess and outdated, but I just gave in and thought ill try it once if its rubbish I won't bother again. Turns out its great.

Best Chinese Takeaway around, consistently fantastic food, lovely staff, usually short wait times around 15/20 mins , never had to wait over 40 mins to collect. Always recommend.

Great food, well priced, efficient ordering on the phone and ready for collection when they said it would be ready. Only downside is no delivery.

Delicious food. We had Crispy Beef, Pork w Black Bean and Chicken Chow Mein. Will definitely be back for more.

Went to the Hong Kong House for the first time on Sunday and will definitely be returning. Firstly the service was excellent and on time,. Secondly the portions were large, so plenty for lunch the next day. Lastly the food, it was all very well cooked and very tasty. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Micro small portions, set meal for one is tiny!!!shocked, not worth the price

Terrible takeaway from Hong Kong tonight, Singapore chow mein which tasted like dried packet noodles, absolutely zero taste. Very disappointing.
