Ordered from here for the first time yesterday, service was excellent nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, very good value for money.

The dishes were usually cooked in 20 minutes. Overall a VERY GOOD service and GOOD food.. My thoughts of dishes sampled in May and June 2024: [4] Pancake Roll Large, battered Pancake Roll full of beansprouts, sliced onions and pork strips. Quite salty, but nice crunchy batter, without being too greasy. [11] Salt & Pepper Spare Ribs Plenty of small juicy ribs (some on the rack), with sliced green peppers, white onions, spring onions and red chillies. Nicely salted, falling off the bone Pork. Delicious. Served in a Cardboard box. [48] Chicken Curry Loaded with big chunks of stewed chicken, half mushrooms & big onion petals in a "Moreish" THICK dark brown, Salty, hot curry sauce with hints of madras or something? DELICIOUS Served in a DEEP Container. [Options] Fried Rice Awesome, slightly overcooked (just how I liked it), light brown coloured rice with reasonable egg content, not greasy or clumpy in light salty soy glaze. [65] King Prawn in Satay Sauce About 8-10 Big prawns, sliced onions, peppers, carrots, & bamboo shoots in a fiery hot, yet thin peanut flavoured sauce with chilli flakes. [82] Chicken Kung Po Stewed chicken chucks, big onion petals, carrot diamonds and green pepper chunks in a thin, hot and sweet pleasant red sauce. NOT an authentic Kung Po as I know it.... [87] Beef with Szechuan Sauce Soft beef slices, sliced onions, green peppers, carrots & bamboo shoots in a super spicy, sharp, but salty notorious aromatic Szechuan pepper sauce with additional chilli flakes. WOW!. [98] Beef in Black Pepper Sauce Plenty of delicious big slices of soft beef, sliced green peppers, onions & carrot diamonds in a thick dark rick peppery hot (Lip tingling) salty sauce. Only ½ full Shallow container. [147] Young Chow Chow Mein A DEEP Container, rammed full with thin noodles, stewed chicken chucks, small roast pork cubes, pink Shrimps, sliced onions, spring onions and plenty of beansprouts in a light salty soy glaze. DELICIOUS. I ordered online and collected as delivery charges seems high. Always a friendly and welcoming greeting. Polite, efficient and well run takeaway. ..  Just be mindful of the salt content (both customer and the chef) Gromit Stanley Rating: 89.0% RECOMMENDED 😀😀😀

Very friendly and welcoming, we always get great service here, the food is always fresh hot and tasty. Just eaten the chicken omelette and chips was very yummy thankyou Hong Kong!!

The best salt and pepper prawns! Asked for extra crispy and they were lovely, staff were very friendly and chatty and a comfortable waiting area. I'll certainly be ordering again soon

Best chinese takeaway! Great portions, food is delicious and very friendly people! Especially Salt and Pepper king prawns and chips are very tasty.

Worst Chinese I have ever eaten - called to complain and took the food back and was only given half a refund because I had eaten some of the food before realising that it wasn’t edible.

I would avoid! Order arrived lukewarm borderline cold also so dripping in grease so all went in the bin

We ordered set meal and were shortchanged with one missing item. Food was very very average. Only saving grace was the spring rolls …phew. Won’t be going back …

This is the worst take away I've ever experienced. Recieved hostile, threatening customer service after simply stating about poor portions and the lack of qaulity food. Do yourself a favour and stay clear!

One of, if not, the best Chinese delivery in Barnstaple! Always prompt delivery, great looking and tasting food, wouldn't go anywhere else!

Unfortunately I am having to lower my rating for Hong Kong house. Last night our order took 2 hours to arrive. I called them up after over an hour and I was told it would be the next one to leave the kitchen. From that point it was another 50 mins. 2 hours is totally unacceptable. The food itself was ok, but I have a bad stomach today since eating it. Sorry but won’t be returning, no discount or freebies were given for the extremely long wait

Always loved this Chinese! Always had a good meal from here and the staff are very friendly. My go-to Chinese. Would definitely recommend!

Fast and friendly service, lovely food

Curry sauce was extremely salty, pancake roll was marvellous. Ribs was meaty but really wasn't a fan of the sweet bbq sauce sorry it was rather vinegary. Egg fried rice was spot on and the chicken batter balls was nice wasn't over keen on the pork batter balls was really fatty and chewy. Wish they had of been separated from the sauce and bigger sized. Found the portions rather small compared to most around here. Unfortunately won't be retrying.

I have been using this takeaway restaurant for a few years now and can honestly say that I haven't had a bad meal from there, generous portions and good value for money, very friendly staff and delivery team

I eat a lot of Chinese food and never have any trouble, however I ordered my usual order from this restaurant and have had food poisoning, stay away from them

Very average at best, recommend a different Chinese place to be honest on the same street. I think the online experience could be a lot more better. Food quality I'm going to give it a three star. Cost of the food is slightly cheaper than most Chinese set at a very good price.

Had a Chinese that was full of black hair. Everyone eating the Chinese was brunette and didn't match the length. Rang up politely to inform them and ask for a refund and was made to send a photo and was then told none of their chefs have that kind of hair. The owner was extremely rude and told me I was lying and to never order their again. As a chef I am disgusted at their hygiene practices and will be reporting them to EHO.

Ordered this evening came very fast at first we all thought it was lovely to then discover 5 hairs. We phoned up the restaurant to explain that we didn't want a refund or anything just letting them know that we found the hair. First lady on the phone was lovely and apologised for the chef swearing about the situation in the background. They phoned us back and this is where they turned very rude and we were told we were lying and to never order here again. Very disprectful and rude.

Super gross, don't order, there was black hair in all our food. And when we rang to let them know, we were met by a man swearing about us in the back ground and the poor lady was trying to sort something out, she got the other boss to call us back and she was very rude and said we were lying after showing her all the photos of hair sticking out our food. Disgusting

Great delivery and speed arriving but my god the food was horrendous. Worst Chinese I have ever tasted. I chose shredded chicken and chili and spicy chicken and both were the same dish consisting of dry chicken in a vinegar type sauce. My husband had beef and was equally disgusting. We essentially paid £40 for prawn crackers and a bottle of tango as we had to throw the rest in the bin.

Slimey chicken, food took over 2 hours, no taste, not even an apology, when i rang the restaurant after an hour and a half they couldnt even give a time frame of delivery. Will not order again

Phoned up and ordered at 1630, come 1930 still nothing, phoned up again and was told would be 30 mins. At 2015 phoned again as nothing had arrived and was told another hour. Cancelled. Absolutely shocking service. Very rude

I had my food delivered early which was good but on delivery of my order I was missing a bottle of fanta/tango. So I called the restaurant to enquire about it. The guy that answered the phone did his best to help but just sounded like he really didn't want to be there. They phoned me when the driver got back and questioned if Im sure I didn't get the bottle and was literally accusing me of lying.. Takes the piss really, no customer service at all, if I could have given a 0 star rating I would have but fortunate for them I can't!!

Phoned up to order as just eat advised to if you suffered from an allergy. I have a shellfish allergy. I phoned up and explained fully about my shellfish allergy and asked that none of my food be cooked near shellfish. Good arrived and my noodles were covered in prawns. Luckily I saw them! Phoned up to complain. They said they would collect the one dish with prawns in and deliver a fresh one in half an hour. I asked for my whole meal to be collected and a fresh one delivered. Because why would I eat half my meal and then eat the other half of my meal half an hour later? Also, if they were that careless with one dish, who knew what else had been contaminated with shellfish? They said their driver couldn't collect or deliver as he was busy now. We offered to sort a taxi to collect if they would pay the fare. When my partner got there to collect the food the staff were extremely rude to him, didn't give him fresh food and we had to pay the taxi fare! Disgusting!

Not impressed just had a takeaway from here took an hour and a half to arrive although we were told this on ordering however the batter on the chicken balls tasted of old grease and our order of prawn crackers where missing and really not very warm

Unbelievable customer service. Item missing from order. No apology just an interrogation over the phone. They didn't bother to send out the missing item just hung up the phone.

5star food hygiene rating eh?? If you like flies in your food go here! Dripping with grease aswell. Threw all the food away could not face another bite after the flies. Gross. Don't think we will go here again..

Average food, I’ve had better but I’ve also had worse. Polite staff. I personally found the bbq spare ribs sauce a little tangy. The food was okay just lacked flavour. However the chow mien was great! Would possibly return.

Wow! Just perfect, have ordered from here before but had forgotten how good it was. Friendly and polite service, always able to meet our fussy requirements and bang on time still scorching hot. Outstanding Thai Curry as well as all the Chinese food we had with it. Thanks so much and keep up the amazing work, we were totally satisfied and will call again and recommend to all x

Food arrived late with items missing and no sign of the rest of it an hour after complaining

14.2.2018 Valentine's Day.. This takeaway came recommended...wish I did not listen...food cold...hardly any meat in meal...House special chow mein...rang to complain but they did not care. Would not recommend....Avoid Avoid.
