Brilliant Place food always top notch

Food was soggy, BBQ sauce didn't taste like BBQ, seemed very bland and strange tasting. Just not your usual Chinese. Definitely won't be ordering from here again. Gave it 2 stars because the relative who also ordered from here with me said they enjoyed it.

Been here an embarrassing number of times in the span of 6 months. Food is excellent. Chow meins are delicious. Chicken balls are the best I've had around here. 10/10 would recommend. 2 year review. S tier Chinese. They are so consistent it's incredible

Been ordering for year just had a set meal for 1 chips n s barbecue sauce order 23 pound with delivery chicken under cooked mushrooms all slimy thick paste curry n ribs full of fat said it before and I'm saying it again never again will I order disgusting ?

Bit of an issue with delivery times but the food is well worth waiting for...a portion of prawn toast is a meal in itself, thanks guys

What’s the point in having a phone if you don’t answer it for 45 minutes. Waited for you to deliver food and putting it bluntly I could have gone to my local back in chesterfield by the time this lot of jokers arrived. Oh well suppose I will spend my Saturday night trying to get hold of you! Ps still not arrived. Expensive and not even here

We’re a regular customer because the food is lovely and the portions are worth the price. However recently the food has been arriving over an hour post order. Tonight for example, we received our £80+ order after 1.5hrs post order with a main course missing. It’s a shame that they wouldn’t even pick up the phone after back to back calls over the span of an hour. The food is great however the customer service require serious improvement!

Good food, service is good but the person taking phone orders needs a customer service course, manners cost nothing she's quite abrupt.

Ridiculous….order on website, 1hr delivery which is fine….1.5hrs no food….guarantee we’ll have it in next 1/2hr so that’s now 2 hours!!! Now told it’s on its way so that’ll be 2.5hrs…seriously bad service! Food great but customer service is so bad! Collection is the only way to get food at a decent time! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

We ordered food at 6:20pm we rang after a hour and was told 20 minutes still nothing so we rang again to be told our driver was on the way. It was 8:20 and still no food so we cancelled our order after waiting 2 hours!!

Food was excellent, portion size was spot on, deliver time between estimated so overall 5 stars🌟

Never again ,beef curry was congealed rice also all stuck together ,chips like cardboard .wish I kept my money

If you ever order from here do not order 1/2 a duck you won’t get anything worth £17 worth! Our total order was £52….Our order was delivered and we tried to call to complain but no one answered, called this evening and apparently if you don’t complain on the same day they can’t do anything (but they don’t answer the phone)!!!!! Duck wasn’t even 1/4 of a duck and was full of bones and just skin….ordered from here numerous times but never the duck, the food is usually good but take my advice unless you want bones and skin and no actually duck meat DO NOT order duck

After our regular Chinese take away changed hands, we tried quite a few other local ones. This one was recommended to us by a friend , and we are so glad we tried Hong Kong Delight! The food was absolutely gorgeous, piping hot and very generous portions. We have said that this our new Chinese from now on! Would highly recommend this place 👍👍

Ordered beef curry &chips food arrived in 25 minutes. Sauce in curry congealed chips looked and tasted like they were from day before sorry but once bitten twice shy .(have been using this shop for years but no more ) do not recommend to anyone

Very disappointed in tonight's delivery order Placed with just eat at 6.20pm quoted a delivery time of between 7.05 and 7.25pm which was fine (I know it's busy) at 7.40 I rang the restaurant to see what was happening with our order to be told it was just being prepared and would-be delivered in 15 to 20 mins which I said was disgusting. I waited 25 minutes more and rang again to see what was happening to be told it was now with the driver I have 2 complaints 1) why do just eat quote a delivery time that is not going to be met 2) why do the restaurant give just eat unacceptable times I enjoyed the food when it arrived but and very upset with the bad service

The food is good, but the delivery time is abysmal. We ordered at 19.10 on a Saturday and it was delivered at 21.20. The food was piping hot, but they need to increase their capacity to deliver it on time. Over two hours to receive food is not acceptable by any measure.

We have ordered from Hong Kong Delight many times over the past couple of years and can honestly say they have not let us down. We have a lactose intolerant daughter and I'm gluten intolerant and they are always so helpful! The lady who answers the phone is so lovely and very patient as I don't always know what I want/can eat! She has recommended some absolutely delicious meals for me. We will definitely keep ordering from here. 😊

Food is lovely but why bother being on just eat or uber with delivery times.....NEVER when it says it'll arrive, request update on uber....no never any update....phoned them everytime to get an update shouldn't need to.

The last 2 times ordering from here the food as been terrible . Chips was soggy and the prawn crackers was stale . Their food as always been good but something as happened at this place recently as its gone downhill so fast . I will never purchase from here again . Delivery took nearly 2 hrs and at one stage they took their phones off the hook or didnt answer because they couldn’t cope . Ps the delivery driver told me that as he didnt want the blame . AVOID AT ALL COSTS NOW , PITY AS IT USED TO BE MY FAVOURITE CHINESE TAKEAWAY . 😭

We have ordered several times from here as the food is of great quality, but unfortunately the last couple of times we’ve ordered from here has been disastrous ! 3 weeks ago we ordered our food and it arrived after 2 hours( apparently was supposed to be a 40 minute wait) when it arrived the order was totally wrong and took another hour and and a half to be re-delivered. Tonight we ordered food at 5.30 and told it would be 1 hour to 1 1/2 hrs. It finally came at 7.30 after chasing them up , only to be told that they were busy with people’s orders who turned up physically in the shop??? Surely they should take orders in priority regardless of wether it’s by phone or physical orders? Online orders are just as important, in fact that’s what most restaurants have relied upon in the pandemic. Management need to get their act sorted , it’s no fault of the delivery driver or the person taking the orders ! Very disappointing.won’t be getting our custom ever again

Food is satisfactory but the staff don’t know how to run the place. Food regularly takes over two hours to be delivered. It wouldn’t be so bad if you knew it would take two hours at the outset, but you are given the standard 45 mins estimate. Won’t be ordering again what a shambles. Edited to add the food has now arrived and the order is wrong!!

2hr wait for delivery, called after 50 minutes, to be told hadn’t even started preparing our food and it would be at least another 30 mins. Jokers!!

First time ordering from this restaurant via uber eats, best chow mein we have had. Arrived when it said It would, tasted great. Highly recommended

Food is good and big portions but delivery is shocking. Over 2 hours wait. Fourth time. Called and told food will be out in 15 minutes. Half an hour later.. called again and food being sent out. It's shame because food is good but won't be using anymore. Will tell people to order for 5 to get it for 7!

Ordered deliveries 3 times now and the food has always been delicious. However like so many writing reviews about this place, waiting over two hours for a delivery is disgusting. Ordered at 5.20 and estimated delivery time was 6.45. This was updated to 7.20 and was delivered just before 7.30. They wouldn't even give a discount for the long wait. Why aren't they listening to their customers and getting this sorted. This has got to be the worst service I have experienced

SHOCKING- Ordered meal for family at just before 5pm via ubereats...initial uber eat estimate apx 30mins, once order was confirmed by restaurant updated to 45mins-1hr which is fair enough....after 1hr 15mins started communicating with the shop...was constantly lied to about the status of our order, totally wasted our time and evening which was naturally planned around the food time.. Especially with 2 babies routines to account for...after 2hrs15mins food finally arrived but we turned it away and got chippy. Only gave it so long as they constantly lying that driver was lost and ten minutes away which went on for the entire time...absolute debacle! They Couldn't care less on the phone!

Food is good but the service is appalling..Every time you order to collect it's never ready and you have to wait for at least 30/45 minutes and on one occasion an hour for them to make order up. When my wife called them to.ask why it's taking so long the lad she spoke to was very rude to her .. Wont be using again as they have had several chances and failed miserably every time....if I could give a negative review I would . This seems to be the normal. As they obviously dont care what the customer thinks. Avoid ...........

Worst Chinese ever, ordered Beef Chow Mein and Chips. The Beef Chow Mein had no taste whatsoever it was reminiscent of Iceland ready meals and the chips were stone cold. Avoid Avoid Avoid. There is no delight in Hong Kong Delight, the owners should go to Hong Kong to see how its done properly.

Worst take away ever!! If I could leave a negative star review I would. I ordered food from here on just Eat and waited the estimated time for delivery of 50 minutes . 15 minutes past the delivery time I called to find out where the food was and was told it will be half hour longer, so grudgingly I said OK but if its any longer Ill want a refund. Half our passes and still no food. I call again still very polite but seething inside. Wheres the food? I'm told they are waiting for a delivery driver and it would be another 15 to 20 minutes. I litraly live 10 minutes away, ever the optamist I agreed. I waited and waited and still nothing so I called again and told them to forget it, I jumped in the car and went down to the shop where what appeared to be a young teenage boy taking the phone orders. What kind of place is this! A lady appeared from the kitchen and I explained iv been now waiting over 2 1/2 hours for food. She seemed to care very little and came across as this is normal and yet acceptable. Aparantly the money has been refunded to my debit card so we will see though I won't be holding out much hope for it to arrive in a timely manner. If I was you I'd avoid!

Ordered from here first time last night, was told 35 minutes for delivery it arrived after 1 hour 10 minutes. Then the food was horrific, we've all been ill since and I can honestly say it's the worst I've ever tasted, the duck was extremely pale, a meat that is supposed to be dark, nothing tasted right. waste of 35 quid

Placed order by phone for delivery. Was told it would be an hour. After 1 hour 10 mins rang to find out where it was only to be told they were only just cooking the food. Terrible service. Cancelled the order straight away. Won't be ordering from them again.

Food OK, can have a wait as they seem to get very busy

A regular customer with a massive order about once a week and this week we waited 2 hours and were lied to twice on the phone about the status of our order. We cancelled and they phoned back after 15 mins of cancelling to ask if we wanted it at a discounted price. Joke with children waiting for food never going there again.

We seem to be running out of good takeaways in our area. The Hong Kong Delight has never failed us yet, and it is worth the short drive away to enjoy their meals!

Was very nice but we was missing our chips when we got home

I have been ordering from here over 5 years. OMG. ... 1hr 35 mins to receive chicken fried rice which only had 8-9 small bits of chicken. They forgot our chips and when I called they said I didnt order chips... then asked if wanted to get chips delivered. No thank you... didn't want to wait another hour. To be fair my partner enjoyed his Cantonese chicken minus the chips. This was the 3rd time in a row of not being happy.. and the last time I'll be ordering... please check our there scores on the doors. - 2.

Ordered a curry on Thursday. When eating the some bits of chicken were cold not only when eating but to touch. Stopped eating it straight away and now 2 days later have miracously come down with food poisoning symptoms. Cold potentially reheated chicken is not what is expected when ordering food!

Ordered food at 7.45pm and 2hrs later still no food arrived and when it finally arrives its the wrong order and delivery driver decides to drop money we give him so had to give him more money and when u phone them up they dont seem abit interested in the complaint DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REALLY BAD ATTITUDE TOWARDS CUSTOMERS

Every time I have ordered you get told an hour- an hour and a half wait then your having to call them 2 hours later asking where your food is. There is never an apology and the comment os “it’s with the driver” when your food does eventually come it tastes like it has been with the driver for over 2 hours as it comes cold. Very disappointing when you have to microwave your meal after over 2 hours later

Had to wait 1hr 30 minutes after being promised a 40 minute wait. Food was mediocre at best - beef chow mein standard but starter box was cold and congealed- Very unpleasant. No discount or apology for wait - would have been quicker to go out to eat! Or cook ourselves. Poor service and poor food. Will not order from here again.
