My husband and I ordered several different dishes, some vegetarian and and some with neat. All of them were excellent. Very impressed.

Excellent and delivered in under thirty mins

Cancelled my order after taking payment. Avoid.

The food was delicious and they delivered in 30 minutes. I was really surprised by that because I made the mistake of reading the comments and I was expecting the worst. I’m glad I had a good experience tho 😎

It arrived an hour and half after the delivery time I was given I called the store 3 times to check what was happening. I was told to call again at 9pm if it still hadn’t arrived! I called again at 9pm and the girl told me she would speak to her boss. I could hear the girl talking to the boss and all he said was tell her 10mins. I asked if I get a partial refund for this as it’s beyond ridiculous that you are excepting orders you can’t meet. The girl asked her boss and he said no he wouldn’t give us anything! The girl had to relay all this information to me as the boss wouldn’t come on the phone. It arrived 9 mins later (close to 3hrs after ordering), almost stone cold with stale prawn crackers, definitely won’t be ordering again!!

Ordered at 19.30, it’s been 3 hours and food has failed to arrive. Called after 2 hours and told it would definitely be 20mins, it’s now been an hour and they aren’t answering the phone. If they cannot deliver they should have cancelled the order hours ago, we have spent the whole evening waiting now it’s too late to order from anywhere else. Do not order from this takeaway.

Order food at about 7:30 on a Thursday evening at 10 pm I’m still waiting for delivery and they won’t answer the phone tried over 20 times and it’s now just going straight to answer phone. £50+ worth of food and still waiting. Will not be using again

Do not order. Soon as they’re busy you’ll get radio silence! Regardless of the food, expect to have your evening ruined and no food turn up 😅

Prawns were to die for!! And my bestie absolutely loved the stir fried veg, and the spring rolls are bloody amazing

The final order: Ordered from here recently and still hadn’t arrived 2 hours later. Such a shame as the food is good but unfortunately that was the final straw. Waits of 1 to 2 hours for food is the norm now and therefore we won’t be ordering again.

My go to Salt and Pepper Ribs with Thai style spring rolls. Never disappoints. Delivery does take some time when ordering online (Uber eats) so definitely order 45mins to an hours before you want the food.

I could have driven from Bristol to Exeter and ordered some food in Nandos and eaten it in the time it took this food to arrive. Absolute jokers. I hope you look forward to my bank reversing the charges.

Appalling. I’ve now been waiting over 2 hours for food. Been calling the restaurant who keep saying “5 minutes” but it isn’t arriving. Should have read these reviews.

Ordered delivery £50 worth of food. Kept putting the delivery time back. When I rang they said it would take 15 minutes but then 25 minutes later the driver was stuck in traffic from around a mile away at 9pm! Customer service awful, no point ringing as they don’t care. Won’t use again, which is a shame because the food is usually okay!

Ordered through Uber Eats. Honestly the most disgusting Chinese I've ever had. The chow mein was bland, the sweet and sour sauce had a chemical taste to it and the spring roles were massive but just full of bean sprouts and a tiny bit of meat. I also ordered a portion of satay chicken, instead we got some other random chicken dish. No way I'll ever order from here again.

Have ordered from here as well as several other local Chinese takeaways over the last 10 years. This is my go to choice. Never had a bad meal from HKC. Always get any alternatives or requests correct. Occasionally (1 in 10) I have had to wait for delivery longer than I expected but never massively so. Just had a delivery as I was typing this review! 15 minutes early. Food was fresh and hot. Char Sui Curry was great and without onions (as requested), chicken chow Mein was great with a little extra sesame oil (as requested), salt and pepper chicken wings were hot crispy and spicy, egg fried rice was enough for two easily but not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s just how they do it at HKC and chicken spring rolls were freshly cooked, piping hot and wonderfully crispy. All in a solid 8/10 and more if they changed their EFR. I am another reviewer who can’t understand the numerous 1 star reviews for this restaurant. Some are clearly malicious and some are obviously from people that believe that a restaurant deserves 1 star because Uber/Just Eat took too long to deliver! Some are definitely from people that just like to complain about anything they can but the genuine ones complaining about the quality of the food or service from the actual restaurant seem unfathomable to me! JMHO. 🙂

Delayed, delayed and delayed again. No explanation, no answering the phone. Rude driver.. Cold food, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Ordered my food 3 hours ago and their number does not work it just stays busy and no one answers, how do I get my £60 family order back when I have no food!!!!

DO NOT USE!! Ordered for delivery through Just Eat at 8:30pm and was given a delivery time of between 9:10-9:30pm. By 9:50 our order still hadn’t arrived. Tried calling them multiple times (17) but no answer. Food eventually arrived at 10:05 however the order was wrong and the food was cold. Tried to call the them again but still no answer. Ending up having to drive to the take away ourselves which completely defeats the point of paying for delivery. When we arrived and raised our complaint with the staff member he seemed completely disinterested and didn’t even offer an apology. Ended up cancelling our order and got a refund via Just Eat. Meanwhile there were multiple delivery bags with orders in still waiting to go out. After we left I called them again while outside and could hear the phone ringing inside and still no answer. Absolutely appalling service and will not order again.

Chips cold, hard and had obviously been cooked more than once. Money is tight for us all, so if you are planning a treat, spend it on something that is edible.

Order declined/cancelled despite meeting minimum order value, waste of time.

Tried to order, but they cancelled with no explanation. I then called them and they said they didn't have any drivers to deliver to my area, which I find odd because it's not them delivering, I ordered the food on Uber Eats.

Cancelled an order as ‘too busy’. Hey, heres a tip, don’t take new orders if you’re too busy - m0rons. Now have to wait a few days for a refund from Uber Eats. Having read the below reviews, look like I may have swerved a terrible meal anyway.

This was hands down the worst Chinese I have ever ordered. The chips were completely soaked in oil. The fried rice is rock solid. Two of the 6 BBQ ribs were literally just the bone, the meat wasn’t even loose in the Tupperware, it was just gone. The curry sauce was congealed & inedible. The sesame prawn toast was compatible to tectonic plates in texture. On top of all that it was an extra 45 minutes late on top of their “latest delivery time” Serious waste of time and money if you intend to eat here.

Just had to throw away £41 worth off takeaway and order from somewhere else which works out to be an expensive night. Absolutely disgusting! The worst Chinese takeaway we've ever had. Felt sick after a few forkfuls. Never again.

AWFUL Must be new people taking it over.

We have been ordering now for over 7 years as we are just up the road from them. Food quality has dropped and delivery times increased. They even forgot to close their online ordering when they were closed resulting having to visit to find they were closed. The final insult is their huge price increase to the entire menu, they are now more expensive than the 2 other Chinese takeaway 2 mins walk away. Sorry you have lost a long term customer.

Have regularly ordered from here over the past few years, but service has gone way down hill on the last two orders, both times given a delivery estimate of about 30 minutes, which was then amended to 1-1 1/2 hours, no further updates, and still not turned up. Had to ring both times to ask and told it's just gone, no apology or explanation. Won't be using them again.

Girlfriend ordered food and after 2 hours the useless buggers changed the status of the order from "on route" to "how was your order?". Well unfortunately we never saw the food and we are disgusted by the fact that we spent the next hour on the phone trying to get through and they kept hanging up the call. Worst experience ever. Will never use this place again. Appalling service.

The mixed meat crispy noodle dish was inedible, the honey chilli chicken and salt and pepper chicken were, at best, passable.

Everytime we place an order they end up cancelling it. What's the point of offering delivery if you don't even except orders.

2 nights on the trot I have had food from this place and I can't fault it one bit, can't wait for the weekend to order again

Chinese food cooked well but unfortunately vegetarian food not labeled. Chips obviously reheated hard and inedible.

Poor cooking - all of the chicken raw! 2 members of the house got food poisoning and had an awful reaction! Luckily these where our starters, as we had to chuck the rest of the £50 order as we didn’t want to risk the chicken in the other 3 dishes. When ringing the kitchen they did not seem to care, put us on hold and could hear them all talking and shouting in the background. He said there is nothing we could do and put the phone down.

Very good food. Looks very clean out front of shop and good prices. I would recommend it to others.

Update, came but 3 hours later, got a small refund

Would like too give people heads up Iv Just ordered from here and the chicken (chicken curry) was pink. I have contacted them and they didn't at all seem bothered 😕 just said they will let the kitchen now.

Best Chinese with delivery by far always come here when dont want to ho out only issue is cannot order curries on the website keeps frezzing and just eat a good £5 - £7 more expensive

I haven't used this place for some time and wished I had not bothered. They refused to take a card payment when we are encouraged to go cashless - and the food was awful and we binned it as it was really unpalatable and not worth the money. There are other good Chinese takeaways in the area and regret not going to our regular places date of visit 6/3/21

The food was ok but I've been waiting for delivery so long.

We ordered £34 of food on Saturday 10th March 2018 via their website - nothing was delivered. No-one answering the phone - Drove up there - turns out they are closed for refurbishment! ruined our Saturday night .

Brilliant service. Ordered on their own website as cheaper than on justeat. Arrived within the hour and hot. Got a mixture of dishes to share, all were lovely, especially the sweet and sour Hong Kong style.

Ordered last night and the service is awful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was told it would arrive a hour after order time, it took over 2 hours! No update from the restaurant and no apology. Phone was also disconnected so I couldn’t get through! I ended up driving to the restaurant to check it was even a real place! Now when I spoke to restaurant they have blamed the driver? Yet the restaurant is at the end of the road? How could he take over a hour to get to me! Ridiculous?!?

I would give no stars if I could, order delayed and late after the delayed time given. Could not get through on their phone line, the line was either busy or I was hung up on. Crispy seaweed was soggy and there was a bone in my pork chow mein.

I found a hair in our food!!! We threw the whole lot away incase there was anything else, absolutely disgusting!

If I could give 0!! I placed an order through just eat and was taking 2:30 to get the order. Lines was constantly busy and couldn't get through. No information that order will be delayed, I cancelled my order and after 1 hours driver turned up, no apology or what so ever. I said that order is cancelled and he left with my order. Very unprofesional place, never again!!

I gave them the benefit of the doubt last time they showed up late (2 hours late) and forgot items from my order (and the food was stone cold). They've done it again today without seeming to care. Avoid them like the plague. Deserve to go out of business.

Don't bother Ordered at 7pm via just eat told waiting time one and a half hours order was a no show rang twice half hour apart after being lied to both times saying "it's leaving now" and "its on its way " turned up at 9:40 I'm less that three miles away.

Ordered food at 5.30pm with Just Eat. 45 to 60 minutes. Placed order and delivery time went up to an hour and a half. 2 hours later I cancelled through Just Eat as Hong Kong Chef's phone was obviously left off the hook. 2 and a half hours later the food arrives! I refused as I had cancelled and ordered elsewhere. Useless, and won't be ordering from them again.

Taking money for orders when not even open! Absolutely terrible would never use again

Not our local, but local to my mother-in-law. My wife decided to treat her to a Chinese for her birthday, so we stopped here en route. My Sweet and Sour King Prawns (Hong Kong style) was very nice, as were the ladies' dishes. A large egg fried rice was ample for the three of us, especially when complemented with mini spring rolls and a bag of non-greasy prawn crackers.

Awful and aggressive delivery driver. This is now the second time the same man turned up demanding made up delivery costs. Food is good but do not order delivery from these people. Horrible.

Dreadful meal. Order several items which were all lukewarm apart from the chips which were stone cold. Paid £2 delivery charge through just eat but when the driver arrived he said I had to pay an extra £1. When I asked why he just shrugged and told me I had to pay. Disgraceful behaviour and I only live 1.2 miles away!! Will not be ordering from here again and good luck to those that do!

Wpuld never reccomend. Ordered food after 1hr 25 no order called the takeaway who.told me the driver had been no answer. Not true as we had door open to listen out. They told me.they received another 15 mins maximum. After yet another 15 minutes still no food. Called them again they said driver was on his way and they wpuld give it half price. I explained the food had beej with driver for.too long and I didn't want cold food. I was told to call justeat and they will refund. After justeat had a.couple.of conversations just eat refunded my money and said the refund would.be back on my card in around 20 minutes. Wi wait and see

Absolute joke of a place, spent over an hour on the phone trying to ask where our food was, they lied twice and said it was on the way, then they told us it had already been delivered, trying to explain that it had not been delivered was pointless, called just eat to try and get our money back, just eat called them only to be told they were cooking it now. Go to the Feng Shung Chinese takeaway better service, better food and they don’t lie 😁

Been using this Chinese since it opened. Never had an issue. Food is always hot and always delish!! Fair prices too. Going by the bad reviews on here it's mainly to do with the delivery service. Clearly that needs improvement (I've never had an issue with this) but I absolutely love this place and would recommend it to anyone.

Don't order anything from that Chinese we just had a delivery and all the plastic cartons melted into the food I rang them to complaint and he just hung up on me absolutely disgusting behaviour

Don't use them. Wouldn't deliver to the door said they was outside when they wasn't and took the order back and cancelled it and refused to give the money back.. and so rude.

Be careful ordering through just eat because the delivery distance isn't accurate and they are very quick to demand extra money from you. £3.50 for delivery and service charge is a little steep when you live 3 miles away.

Not impressed. Delivery was ok and in plenty of time. However food wasn't good. Ordered duck in orange sauce which is served with very sweet pineapple cubes! Why? Should be orange slices, surely. The spare ribs were dry and overcooked, almost burned. Not a good experience, won't use this takeaway again.

Don't order or especially through just eat! no pre warning of extra delivery charges then they ring you to ask for extra money once the order has gone through and confirmed! They proper mess you about. takes ages to refund (3-5 working days, when you're told it'll take 15 mins!!) and just out right rude.

Ordered through Just Eat. Food was ok, nothing special though. Despite only living 2.3 miles away and the website stating that delivery would be £1 extra for delivery over 3 miles the printed receipt charged us an additional £1. On top of that, scribbled at the bottom of the page was another £1 which I strongly suspect the delivery driver added on himself considering the attitude I got when I disputed it. Won't be using this again.

Had a few deliveries so far and have never been disappointed. Always quick, drivers are very nice. You get generous portions of tasty food that isn't too oily.

I've ordered from here loads of times (more than I probably should have). I've never had an issue with the service, it's never been late and usually arrives much sooner than the time given. It's always my first choice when I fancy a Chinese as their food is consistently delicious (not too greasy like a lot of places). I've recommended to friends and family, and would recommend to whoever's reading this too. Can't understand why there are so many bad reviews on here?

Food is above average, and well cooked as they don’t overdo the oil and salt. Delivery is infuriating though, so don’t bother even trying, just collect it yourself

Appalling delivery service... Delivery driver rang our intercomm service 4 times before I had to go down 3 floors to the main entrance, only to find him sat in his car with a young lady, too busy to actually deliver the food. Upon greeting him, he got out the car, got my food and not looking where he was going, almost walked into me. Took my food, walked back to my flat only for him to call the intercomm again. This time he came to my flat and agressively told me it wasn't my food and accused me of taking someone else's food. Demanded proof and on showing him my order confirmation, said thanks and walked off. No apology. Shocking that he wouldn't deliver to the door but happily comes up to confront me when it suits him. Food was bland and greasy. And as a lone female, I'd say the experience was rather disrespectful and frightening. NEVER again. Food has gone down hill and delivery, well say no more.

Used to be good but has seriously gone down hill. Forgot half my order so called right up and was told it was on the way. 35 mins later i called back to be told I didn’t even order it. After telling them I have the receipt as ordered online they said they would refund. They didn’t so I put in a claim though Paypal and the guy called me back and was extremely rude down the phone telling me he was going to come back to the house to take the food back! He was very arrogant and rude!I He then slammed the phone down on me - after he called me!!! WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN - AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

Ordered through Just Eat, 20 mins later got a call from them asking for more money in cash for delivery so cancelled. AVOID! Just Eat wouldn't let me review the resturaunt if the order was cancelled so their ratings are probably worse than it looks on the site.

Received text asking to sign up to new app. Offering 10% discount + free food based on spend level. Ordered online and was looking forward to Saturday night treat. Was sent confirmation stating free delivery within 3 miles. As only 1.5 miles away I called to query as charged. After 10 minutes of trying to explain you cannot charge delivery if you have offered 'free' to be told the website is wrong and if you dont pay for delivery we will cancel order. Disgusting customer service over £1 whilst they would have made 50% plus profit on food. Reading other reviews there seems to be a common factor. Never got our takeaway!!!

Order was over an hour late and still not arrived. Called to chase and told driver on the way and would be 10-15 mins. 30 mins later called again and told food would be ready in 30 mins. Appalling service.

Only just moved to the area arrived within 20 mins with a 45 delivery time everything was cooked perfect very hot and not a drop of grease in sight ... will order from here on a regular basis
