Our 2nd visit to this place, recently been refurbished to a lovely fresh standard. We come here with our mum as she lives in the care home up the road. The staff are lovely and very accommodating to mums needs. The food is fresh traditional and tasty at a reasonable price too! Mum enjoyed her lager and a Baileys to finish. Definitely be a regular visit here from now on

Popped in for a quick spot of lunch and must say the food is really nice, good value, and the staff are really friendly and friendly,i had chicken gyros with chips & salad and cheesecake for dessert,all was tasty and reasonably priced

Was very pleasantly surprised by the varied menu.. offers a lot more than just burgers and fish and chips , although that is also available 😉myself and my friend had the pork and cabbage dumplings starter and to be honest(pardon the pun) I was sceptical about receiving frozen food but no!!! I was wrong. Freshly made dumplings with 3 different dipping sauces and packed with freshly made fillings.. excellent 5x⭐️ brand new menu so excellent start..I look forward to trying other options 😋😋

Went to try the new food menu and was delighted. Home cooked food at great prices, I could not fault it. Friendly staff made it a really enjoyable evening.

This pub is a no no just finished work going for a pint to chill and find it full of screaming kids parents and bar staff not interested

The guy doing the entertainment guitar and singing great. Bar staff friendly . Unfortunately for me big group of scooter club members vaping only a table away. I thought smoking and vaping indoors was a no no

The honest lawyer( a contradiction in terms ) is a very friendly pub, I've never eaten there however the food looks nice and is well presented, it has a pool table, nice atmosphere,and helpful staff. KEITH.

Had a Family Members wake here today 5/5/23 ,we couldnt of been more looked after The 2 Barmaids went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly The buffet was lovely really fresh

We recently had our wedding do and after party at the Honest Lawyer. Nice sized function room with it’s own bar, outside smoking area as well as more seating, use of table and chairs and lovely and friendly staff. They catered for everything and everyone at short notice for me and my husband and made everything easy and relaxed for us. The disco we also had by Standard Entertainment was also perfect and definitely made the event a party! Would highly recommend thank you for everything xx

It's alright, friendly barmaids, not too expensive drinks, what else could you ask for.

Been here a few times but was very rudely and ignorantly spoken to by a member of staff when trying to make conversation. Appalling customer service, clearly doesn't want to be there. Just want to clarify this is something that happened recently. It was a member of staff behind the bar who was serving us so please don't jump to conclusions. There was no landlord or distractions around to be how he was with me, but thanks for your reply - still don't seem very scrubbed up on your customer service skills.

Awful staff behind the bar. Making rude comments for no reason. Not bothered about their customers at all. Place is in decline and won't be around much longer. Not worth the visit.

Still 5 Star I was in THE Honest Lawyer twice last week. I was in THE Honest Lawyer 3 weeks ago.

Try the Haddock and chips, you won't taste better

A first visit to Guilty Gourmet with my Dad for Sunday lunch and not disappointed . Good choice from a three course menu . We chose Pork loin roast and Turkey roast dinner . Although our main course was delayed due to a mishap in the kitchen , we were kept informed as to how long we would be waiting , which was only about 5 minutes . When they arrived both meals were hot , as were the plates , and there was plenty of everything we had requested . Dad was full after his meal but I had a dessert which was very enjoyable . When the bill was presented it had been reduced due to the delay with our main course , which was a lovely surprise and not something I was expecting . The staff were very pleasant and courteous . Overall we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely return .

Booked room for a surprise party. Paid for a buffet and cannot fault what we got in the way of food it was plentiful and well presented. Everyone commented on how good it was. I highly recommend the Honest Lawer to have your private function no matter what the occasion is. John the barman on duty was brilliant no one was kept waiting to long to be served. Thank You Honest Lawer for making our daughters party great

Food all dry at. 13.30 sprouts all mushy the Yorkshire pudding could be used as a spare tyre soft inner rock hard on outer only good things new pots and roasted only thing good stuffing balls the army have taken what's left as cannonballs. VERY DISAPPOINTING. ESPECIALLY AS THIS WAS A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. NEVER WILL GO AGAIN.

It is a lovely pub the staff are polite and friendly. You value for money with the meals and they do meals every day. You can here is entertainment on mainly at weekends. There is a free function room to higher for any ocation.

we have been twice now for sunday lunch, and i must say the food was spot on, and the prices are so reasonable £1.oo for coffee and tea make your own, the decor is smart clean and tables well laid out, times are 11am to 2pm byt aim for 12 as when the food is gone its gone, well done to staff.

Went to a birthday for a family member,they had hired private room for the night.The beer was rather price considering not in town centre,the room was a good size and staff served everyone quickly.The bar has changed considerably in layout and decor since we last visited some years ago.Overall a decent place for a drink,just a pity it's so far from town centre,so if your at the Lawyer it's a pricey cab fare to head to where there are more pubs to frequent(town centre)

We’ve just enjoyed a lovely Sunday carvery at the Honest Laywer, Grimsby. Fourteen of us. The place was very busy but we were served quickly. Good staff, friendly service.

A brilliant pub for entertainment, friendliness and service. Had a great time this evening, I even won the 1st prize in the meat raffle. Ian Marshall had two spots plus a disco. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
