Holy Chinese Take Away in Islington

Ojalá hubiera leído las reseñas antes de ordenar 😟 y me enojaré mucho si mañana estoy mal. ¿Dónde está el huevo en el arroz frito con huevo 🫣 y por qué se ve así, gris? En general, soso. El gusto y la calidad era mala. No fue como esperaba. Sé que las comidas para llevar variarán entre sí, pero me decepcionó mucho ☹️. No voy a pedir desde aquí de nuevo o recomendar.

¿Qué puedo decir que hemos utilizado el Santo durante los últimos 30 años el año pasado desde que los nuevos propietarios han tomado el control ha visto un rápido declive le dimos el beneficio de la duda un par de veces, pero esta noche fue la última vez que la comida era horrible salsa de curry tenía un sabor divertido huevo arroz frito no tenía huevo solo arroz crudo como balas las galletas de langostinos estaban viciados ninguno de nosotros (3) comerlo se fue a la papelera por lo que no vamos a pedir de nuevo y he tenido un malestar estomacal desde comer tan definitivamente la última vez para nosotros.

The people here always look after me. I can call and the food is ready when I get there. Very reasonable pricing and although cash only it’s a lovely tasty take away . I’ve never complained and I always leave a nice tip. My favorite dish is egg fried rice with a curry sauce and prawn crackers . After 7pm you can find free parking nearby . Highly recommended if you like Chinese food

Me and my family have been ordering here for years and it’s honestly one of the best takeaways in Holloway . The food Is great , the portions are also great and the staff as well . Just wished they would add new things to the menu like spring rolls , fried dumplings, sweet and chill items just more starters.

This little old school Chinese takeaway is a hidden gem. The shop front doesn’t look all posh and stuffy but don’t let that put u off. The food is so delicious and is not greasy or over soyed or over salted. They do not deliver but is so worth a walk to collect. Lovely staff too. I have tried a few Chinese places in the area but none are as nice as their food. Prices are still cheap and portions are big. I will not go anywhere else now for my Chinese food treat. Try it out, you will not be disappointed and be hooked like my family.

I tried this place on the off chance after driving past and I must say it was one of the best Chinese takeaway's I have had. The chicken balls are superb and there is hardly any oil on any of the food. I have been back twice and the staff are really friendly and the standard of food was the same. This place is my new favourite Chinese and I will be a new regular

Annoying they don't do delivery but for the price it's worth picking it up and although its cheap it still tastes really good.

(This is a takeaway, not a restaurant, and they don't deliver.) This was a local takeaway when my partner lived in Holloway for a few years, and we regularly got food here. The last time we got some was last October before he moved to another area (although we still frequently play with the idea of ordering some, picking it up, and getting a taxi to the new place! -- sometime when there's some spare money it will happen!). I am a vegan, so the amount of the menu I have eaten is limited. I cannot speak to the meat dishes. Their vegetable dishes tend to be fresh and nice. Perhaps fresher and less MSG/fake-tasting than your standard Chinese, but not standout. My partner might differ, but that's my view. Their Singapore noodles stand out a bit more. My other half gets them as they come, with all the meat, and with egg noodles, only without prawns. I get them with rice noodles, no meat, and no eggs. And we both always finish them, often (at least in my case) despite resolutions to save some! We've had their spring rolls and fried seaweed and other vegetarian starters at times as well, and those, and sides like steamed rice, are always perfectly fine. I don't remember ever having a bad experience with this place. Once or twice I will admit to being slightly underwhelmed -- just not finding everything amazing and moreish. But never a bad order. That's for the food in general. But they have one standout dish, which is their salt and chilli tofu. The pieces of tofu are small and soft cubes, but the outside is a perfect supple crust of salty, spicy amazingness, and they come with fresh onion, chilli and salt surrounding them to add extra seasoning. Unlike many places, the tofu is soft, not firm, and the seasoning is in a coating around it, as though it's deep-fried in it (no, health food it is not!), rather than having been marinated or otherwise made to absorb it. I can't praise it highly enough. We have tried upwards of a dozen other restaurants trying to find salt and chilli tofu as good, and we have also tried several different recipes and techniques at home. We've never found it matched (let alone excelled) or matched it ourselves . If you are in the area you MUST have this tofu. Drop everything! Go and pick some up!

The staff are nice. You can't sit in, it's only take away. It's quite cheap. The food doesn't stand it from any other Chinese take away.
