I'm devastated, I didn't know about this place before. Bang on F n C. I love my F n C with lots of vinegar.

They do Gulten free fish and chips. It was very nice

Great little chippy in Nelson. I bought a fish butty with chips at a bargain lunch of £4. Large fish and chips are under £8, which I would call a medium size. I always think that these small chippies undersell and should modernise with lighted backboard menus and generally showcasing more of their products. So whilst I think the decor needs a but of a lift, the food and service is very good. Knocked down 1 star as gave food without asking or placing in bag, some curry sauce was seeping put of the paper package so really should have asked or placed in bag. But let me tell you it's great great food, fish batter coating is crispy and the chips were wonderful, go get a bite. You will not be disappointed.

Best chippy in town! Brilliant fish and chips with amazing customer service. Enjoy going here and being served well. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Situated in a prime location. There is no indoor seating but the food is well packaged to take home or work. The workers are super hardworking and friendly, providing great service each time. Would definitely recommend 10/10

I used to use this chippy all the time as it was so good especially the fish. I feel like it has changed hands potentially as the food is poor and recently I’ve been disappointed. I went there at the beginning of the year and thought I’d try again this month as they may have been having a bad day. I was still disappointed, the usual staff are still lovely especially the lady with the glasses but the food is just poor especially the fish. Fish scones aren’t cooked through and the fish is very small. I probably won’t go back now.

Always good there. Kebabs are always amazing. Fish and chips are also very good. When we are up that way alway pop in.

Chips - which already tasted like they'd been sitting for a while - might have been better if the salt and vinegar had gone on them rather than just on the fish which was unceremoneously chucked on them. The batter on the fish was a bit thick and could have been fried a bit lighter but was tasty. I think this is a decent chippy but just needs to get some basics right. Price is a couple of quid higher than what I've paid elsewhere for same order and received better quality tbh. If I'm in the area and want a chippy dinner I would try elsewhere first. Staff were friendly and very nice to customers.

Not at all bad - fish was fresh. Batter wasn't too thick and was nice and crispy. Chips were ok but could have been a little crisper. Friendly staff

I have been going here for Years, as it was the best chippy by Far, Went 2 weeks ago for fish, chips & curry sauce, Couldn't belive how awful they Tasted! the fish & batter tasted off! the chips were not cooked & the curry sauce tasted Powdery! Such a shame as I used to love the food from here! Definitely will not be returning

Been going here for years and always top drawer. Been disappointed lately as both the fish and chips just don’t taste right batter not right and chips under cooked

The service was extremely fast and friendly. Chips were under cooked and curry portion was too small.

I’ve been going years to this chippy staff are great always have a laugh food was always impeccable but now new owners the chips tasted earthy and the fish (batter was good) was hardly cooked inside not the white fluffy texture as before in fact slimy in parts the batter I ate the fish I tasted and threw away I won’t be returning at over £15 to throw away

Probably worst chips and gravy / curry ever had. Chips tasted like they had been warmed up. Ordered large chips and gravy and large chips and curry to find out only had been given small portions of each. Next to nothing of both the gravy or the curry on. Very dry. Very disappointing.

Can’t wait to try to fish as the chips are amazing. Best Ive tried locally

Freshly cooked fish. By how do we stop fish getting soggy bottoms - surely if the batter's cooked through then it shouldn't happen? Gravy and chips: so so gravy, but then gravy is subjective.

Great chippy, visited today for the first time, don't really know Nelson so just stumbled upon it. Nice and clean, comprehensive menu & all the staff were friendly and helpful. Ordered fish and chips, fish was a quality cut and was cooked to order, lovely texture and the right amount of batter. Portion size was very generous - I couldn't manage all my chips - but the fish was too nice to leave any! Price was very reasonable, given the quality and decent portion. I'll definitely be calling again when I visit Nelson.

Probably the worst set of chips I’ve ever had. Usually this is the go to place for fish and chips. But the woman that served my mum Was moody. Dark chips, no salt and vinegar on them and the fish was dark and very rusty. Been going here for past 10 years and this will be the last. I hope the owner can look into his staff because I won’t be returning.

The BEST chip shop around by far. The food is always of the same standard and delicious. Very clean shop and very friendly staff. We wouldn't go anywhere else, even though we have to travel quite a distance to get there.

Would rate you good but that service was fing disgusting, 4 people who came in after me got there food before me will walk to the Barrowford chippy next time extra 0.3mile but rather have good service and good food not one or the other, the young lad whome was work he was very polite and was clearly just following orders even his face expression as he passed the food was im so sorry I said thank you to the young lad and ignored the rest of the staff didn't deserve a thank you

I've had Holts Fish an Chips four times and not once have I found them to be of same standard as the local chippy when I lived in Saltfleet, Lincs. If I want owt from a chippy now. I drive over to Eastburn in Yorkshire.I find. them more to my liking.

Went there a few times when 1 of the ladies that works there was serving i wear the lanyard to show vulnerability and dispite that was told to wait outside in heavy rain so i would recommend if your vulnerable ir live with someone that is then AVOID at ALL costs

i live in burnley and travel to nelson just because of the quality.everytime i go there are queues but believe me the fish and chips are the best and believe me ive tried a few locally .

My husband is diabetic and does not like a lot of batter but here they are so good and make his fish with hardly any batter but still enough to make taste great. Thank you

Visited at lunchtime for fish and chips.Whilst fish and chips are not the most healthy meal, there are far more healthy oils on the market not to be used in frying food.Which will result in a much more crisp and lighter batter.The chips were coated in dripping,and as a result were not crisp and dry.Check some of the local pubs, fish and chips should be a crisp and dry meal.Sorry I am not a food freak but there is a limit to how greasy food should be served

Went for lunch today had fish and chips excellent food and reasonable prices staff very friendly in these pandemic times very clean premises and covid rules apply here which is good.

Excellent service, hygiene practices and, of course, product. Highly recommended. We visit weekly and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This is the best chippy I know, the chips are always nice and chunky and the haddock is beautifully cooked to perfection, excellent food and service.

If you are disabled i would say dont go here unless you are ok standing outside in the cold or rain to wait for your food i was told to take a buzzer and wait outside even tho i have severe arthritis and COPD

This is a takeaway with great standards and good quality food. Have visited several times and fish fresh and chips done just right.Very pleased to advise this is a great one to visit. Parking is a bit tricky, just go around corner near roundabout and there are several places on street.

What can I say about this fish@chip shop.for a start I don’t understand how someone can leave a bad review about Lee upsetting someone that I don’t get as Lee is the upmost likeable person on earth he is always nice with everyone when I come in the his shop always has a smile on his face and even puts a smile on your face.i have been going to lees shop for over 1year now and I have never had any bad food. The food is outstanding quality and you always get plenty for your cash. All the staff are very nice you. I will only got to this chippy as it’s the best in Nelson and the wider part of Pendle. all I can say Lee is if you sell 100 fish 🐟 on a bad day then in my mind you’re doing something right.keep up the good work take care lee and all your staff from Eddie ps I told the wife she had put 3 fish not 4 what did I say about ladies being all the same lol 😂
