Lovely food ( not greasy) friendly staff, spotlessly clean. Relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place, ideal if your on a long journey.

Very nice cafe which I didn’t know existed. It’s tucked behind a petrol station that I never use. Lovely views across the countryside. Very nice (and reasonably priced) breakfast, nice coffee. Lovely staff. What more could you want.

In the area and a friend had mentioned this place. What a lovely surprise when we walked into restaurant/bar, lovely setting and views. The staff are friendly and attentive. Amazing choice on menu and the food was outstanding. My sister and I shared a couple of tapas dishes and the ploughman’s board , delicious and good helpings. Thank you to the wonderful team working there

Looking up opening times for a Friday afternoon and seeing it was open until 8.30pm my friend and I decided to meet here for a coffee after work for a catch up and chat. On arrival to the Hollol Cymraeg eyes glaring at me by a young female member of staff I asked if they were open to which she said in a sharp form voice “we are not serving food” I said “only coffee we want”. She said “but we are closing in half an hour, you have half an hour!!!” But I said on your website it says closing at 8.30pm .She said we have a break before the next lot of food is served at 6.30pm. She reluctantly let us stay giving us a choice of selected tables. Whilst sitting she came up to the table to ask what we wanted. A tea and a coffee was delivered with a bang on the table. I said to her it doesn’t state online that it’s closed at any time in between. It just says opens 9am -8.30pm She said it says on the door . To which it wasn’t. After about an hour she comes up to the table to ask if we wanted anything else we said no and I said to her I guess you want us to leave to which I was rudely ignored!! The service was very rude and unwelcoming. The only reason I/we decided to stay is because I’d arranged to meet my friend who was already on her way! Otherwise I would have left. This is such a shame as the food her is delicious but staff attitude especially by her was disgusting!! Hollol Cymraeg if you close in between opening time and closing time this should be stated on the website!! As this isn’t the first time this has happened. I certainly will not be going back to Hollol Cymraeg again and I certainly will not be recommending it either!!

What a lovely little find, a friend and i booked in for Afternoon tea, it was one of the nicest Afternoon teas I've had, warm savouries were sausage rolls, 2 types of quiche, warm oozing scotch egg..we were given a choice of sandwich fillings which was a lovely touch and then could choose which cakes we wanted..given automatically were scones..clotted cream..jam and a Welsh cake. The restaurant area is really pleasant and comfortable and there's an outside decking area with picnic tables & benches with beautiful uninterrupted views over the valley. Can't wait to return to try their other meals..licenced too with a good choice of reasonably priced drinks.

Excellent breakfast & staff. There were 5 of us, I had Veggie breakfast which was huge and delicious. 3, had small breakfast which they said were delicious and satisfying and 1 had the loaded breakfast muffin again delicious. We weren't rushed by the staff, even though they were very busy, they were very attentive, and friendly as usual. But sorry forgot to take pics!

A great choice of lunches on the menu, all homemade produce, generous and extremely tasty! The desserts were a bit special too. We will definitely visit again and can highly recommend this place.

I went here for my evening meal whilst I was working in Wales. The food was home cooked and really nice. The thing that made the difference for me was the gentleman who looked after me while I was there. It was greatly appreciated, especially when dining alone all week. Thank you!

If you like a nice beef steak then look no further! The chef buys his meat from a small Swansea butcher and it’s both great quality and well cooked at an amazingly low price! It’s a pub as well as a restaurant so whether you are looking to eat or just have a beer, it’s great! The only downside is that Doombar is the only ale they keep, you would expect a local welsh beer.

We recently booked and visited this establishment for a Sunday roast / 93rd birthday party, (not me by the way!) as we were staying locally for the weekend. Well what can I say!!, as soon as I arrived, the outside looked like someone’s house in this tiny, yet beautiful village, however once over the threshold it became apparent how large and beautiful the inside of this pub was, even Doctor Who would’ve been impressed with this tardis! I and another family member were greeted by a warm and friendly faced landlady, and she was a lady! Asked where we were from and made us feel incredibly welcome, then she let herself down by undercharging us for our pints £4.50 each!! At home in Wiltshire I pay £6.50 for the very same pint. We were shown to our own large table (11 people), set on our own. This restaurant was impeccable. The food was perfect with some difficult family members dietary requirements, even the chef came to the table which turned out to be the landlord, what a nice guy he was too. This place was so good, I felt only obliged to buy the landlord and landlady a drink to say thank you for looking after us. After giving the 93-year-old the bumps to celebrate, we left happy and fulfilled. Thank you guys!

Not been here before, what a lovely venue. Food was delicious, well presented and served by a lovely friendly server. It is rare I leave food but I could not of eaten another bite. The lovely gentle piano music in the background was so nice and relaxing. We eill definately be returning here.
