Had a sunday lunch recently and it was very nice.The service was very friendly and the location is excellent.Parking is either in free council car parks ir a chargeable park around the corner. I would book a table as it seems to get a steady stream of customers. We shall return at a later date, highly recommended.

The food was excellent, as always. Service was very good too. We went at 4pm on a Wednesday in January, so understandably it was quiet, so quite cold on arrival (the room NOT the staff), but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Love this place. It will be my 4th visit tomorrow as its not local to me but worth the travel. Food is delicious and well presented and the staff are very friendly.

Can honestly say I've never had a bad, or even mediocre, meal here!

Hollathans used to be one of our favourite restaurants but I feel that over time standards have deteriorated. We had a meal there on the 12th October and after settling the bill we noticed that there was an offer of discount vouchers If we pre booked and put down a deposit for a Christmas meal, so we did. I enquired about when we would get the vouchers and was told that we would get them when we turned up for our Christmas meal. On 14th December we had our Christmas meal, it was okay, there was plenty of food, it wasn’t as good as the first Christmas meal that we had there a few years back though. The problem came when I had my Christmas pudding, it had some red berries on top which I removed and gave to my wife. The first bite of the Christmas pudding tasted odd, other parts also tasted odd yet other bits were fine, it became clear why when my wife tasted the berries, they tasted of garlic and smelt of garlic. We could both smell garlic on these berries but apparently the Chef couldn’t, however the price of the dessert was taken off the bill (this time). However, the deposit hadn’t been taken off the bill so we had to pull up our credit card statements in case there was a problem proving we had paid a deposit, fortunately there wasn’t and the bill was adjusted. What happened next was really disappointing, I hadn’t at that point handed over a tip, it was only after my wife had been to the toilet and I had found some change for a tip that we approached our server again. Immediately after handing over a tip, he produced the discount vouchers. He could have produced them when he verified that we had prepaid, he didn’t, it was only immediately after receiving the tip. The reason that we stopped going to Hollathans so often was because of their “chips”, I recall being served these horrible thick soggy battered chips with an enchilada, I left them and told our server they were horrible, his response was to say that he would inform the chef. That was it, no feedback, no apology, nothing. I did have these “chips” again on the 12th October but at least this time the coating was crispy and I ate them.

Worst Christmas meal I have ever had. Couldn’t cut the meat. Needed a sew for the Yorkshire puddings. Vegetables half raw half over cooked. The only thing I ate was half a roast potato. Absolutely awful for the price I paid! 👎🏽 won’t be returning!!

My partner and I had a fantastic evening here. The staff have exceptional customer service. Never once had to wait a long time to be seated served or topped up. The food it absolutely gorgeous. Cooked so perfectly and presentation was outstanding. I we can't wait to come back soon and try something new on the menu. AND to top it off we had a beautiful bottle of white wine and 2 for 1 cocktails. Very happy customers

I want in for a spot of lunch and soft drinks but was a bit miffed when they kept trying to sell me alcohol and for a Italian restaurant they didn't have much choice in Italian food it was nice but am not going back as it was a bit on the expensive side

We have been going for a while now and the staff are all lovely, food is good quality for the money and very tasty however my partner had mussels the last time we went and he said some of the tasted a little funny, it’s the first problem we’ve ever had with the food. We haven’t had a problem with anything else

We had been recommended to eat here by a local and were so glad we had! Really friendly staff and the food was delicious! Wine Wednesday was an added bonus together with the two or three course deal! If only we lived closer so we could visit more often 😁

We have been coming here for years, food has always been top quality and full of flavour with good size portions and good value. But unfortunately the last two times have not been the same. I can’t fault the waiting staff, but unfortunately the quality of food has slipped, the portions are smaller (half a chicken breast instead of a full that we used to get, in a meal which we paid a supplement) the prices have sky rocketed (especially the drinks) there are supplement charges on most items on the happy hour menu. and the restaurant was pretty empty. I don’t mind paying a little extra for quality but when the food is just average I don’t and would prefer to go elsewhere. This is the second occasion where there has been an extra drink we did not have added to our bill (we didn’t realise until checking the bill on leaving). Unfortunately we won’t be back.

Booked in for 6.30..4 of us.our foot order wasnt taken till after 7pm..restaurant downstairs where we were was.busy.The young staff were trying their hardest but we had to ask the waitress to take our order as we could wait no more.The food was exceptional as always (we have been here a number of times )..but this was the first time we have had to wait so long to be served .Hopefully just a blip on this occasion

Great night in Hollathans. Food delicious as usual but extra special as Keith and Eleanor were in the kitchen! Callum was his usual amazing self! Attentive, funny, professional. Couldn’t ask for better front of house host.

There was a major cricket match on in the town so the restaurant was very busy, yet we still got very good service, and the food was excellent, as always.

Been here many many times and it is excellent! Vegan menu and offers. The lot! Tonight we were ‘that’ table where things went wrong and I was the ‘Karen’ It was a laughable affair as you couldn’t write the craziness of things that went wrong! It never had before as this place is lush! Excellent wait staff and bar staff etc When things went awry tonight, the supervisor Callum was as dreadful as usual but Catherine the manager was amazing. She was all I needed as a vegan being served dairy. This place needs her to move it on. Personable and relatable - what more can you ask for when it goes a awry? A very good appointment! This place is still lush and I’ll be back soon (maybe tomorrow)

Perfect local place for food and drink

Great food with pleasant service. Plenty of gluten free options, even Yorkshire puddings. The mushroom brushetta was very tasty with a bit of a kick in the salsa. Just the right sized portion before the main course. I opted for a roast beef Sunday dinner, which was really nice. Beef was tender, nicely cooked veg and homemade Yorkshire pudding. All very tasty. My daughter, who is coeliac, had an amazing halloumi burger with chunky chips-all gluten free. Service was good and all reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Issues with the booking system, so a full restaraunt meant no table (initially). They apologised for the issue and said its a brand new system, food took a long time coming but my 5 star review is for the exceptional staff during a very busy period. No stress, all smiles, very attentive. Complimentary round of drinks as a way of apology before it even got to a state of complaint. Just ahead of the game in customer service. When the food did arrive it was delicious. We will be back, well done to the amazing staff.

Nothing special about this place… atmosphere is lacking, the staff seemed miserable and the food was only ok. Had the sticky beef and it was very underwhelming, nice but nothing worth shouting about.

Good quality food. Bit lacking in the veg department, and please stop putting pepper in the swede, it ruined it for me. Some may like it, but with the grinders on the table, people could add their own. Good selection of dishes and desserts for those with food allergies (GF). There was a nice atmosphere and service was good. Great that the touring cars were on the tv instead of the likes of football too. 4 out of 5 for the veg and not having a full sugar coke/pepsi offering on postmix.

It was good of them to fit us in however, The wait for our food was beyond acceptable and then got one meal wrong . Some of the food was not the warmest and some had been reheated. The staff were lovely though and we did get a reduction off the bill for the meal that was wrong . Would I visit them again? If I’m the area and not as large of a group then , yes, I would give them another try.

What a fantastic experience for me and my girlfriend. Servers were always on hand to offer new drinks, bill was promptly served and they all had time for everyone! Chefs were amazing and the food was perfect. Definitely coming back!

Advertised as a bar and restaurant however however if you just want to call in for a drink you will struggle because the tables are always reserved, can't comment on the food because did not eat there.

Lovely place although service was a little slow. It was the first time we had been and it was busy but waiting over 20 or 30 mins just for a drink was a bit much.

Visited as a group of 15 for lunch & drinks. Very well looked after by all staff, made to feel so welcome by everyone. Extensive and varied menu. Food was hot, flavoursome and large portions. Fantastic cocktails. All very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend xx

We were there for 20 minutes and had not even had a drinks order taken. When we told the staff we were leaving and the reason for this the response was apathetic at best. The service was frankly embarrassing

Been for the bottomless brunch today. We were served by a very polite and helpful lady who happened to be the Manager. Highly recommended. Very prompt with food and drinks and well worth the money for £40 for the cocktail brunch. Food was hot and fabulous. Will be back again. Thank you.

Beautiful interior, good atmosphere. Enjoyed the food........good value for goid food. Staff were excellent, well mannered, professional and handled the situation very well...( due to staff shortage our main course took 2 hours to be served) No complaints otherwise.

My daughter booked for my birthday 4 adults and 2 grandsons Lovely atmosphere as soon as we arrived Food menu is a very good choice. 4 starters all different came out same time plus boys main meals Then 4 main meals arrived soon after. We all said how fantastic the food was even the grandsons enjoyed it. 4 desserts was ordered next they looked brilliant. 2 cokes 2 orange juice 2 lemonades 1 pinot 1 gin and tonic Plus 4 free glasses of wine with choosing food from main menu £110.00 excellent value We will be returning Amazing staff very efficient Only 1 negative point was a group behind us using fowl language

Food is delicious, very nice atmosphere

This place is an independent gem. Arriving without a booking, my sister and I found the place nearly full early on a Saturday evening. The staff were lovely and found us a free table in advance of a later booking. We enjoyed a range of tapas. The patatas bravas was spicier than I've enjoyed when in Spain. The cocktails were superb. Everyone in the place looked happy - it's well worth a try.

Me and a friend had bottomless brunch yesterday, food was lovely, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Disappointed with the set up of drinks, should be able to decide what to have and not have to have the same, not a massive cocktail fan and my friend doesn’t like Prosecco, room for improvement.

Bottomless brunch at hollathans. £40 for tapas and cocktails. Drinks were served quickly and were plentiful. Only point for improvement would be to allow the table to choose their own option...because my friend wanted cocktails I couldn't then choose prosecco. Good atmosphere.

Lovely girls night out last night. Set on 2 floors we were seated downstairs. Most of us took advantage of the £16.99 2 course + drink. My mussels starter (50p extra) was delicious and the meatballs that a couple of friends had were pretty spicy! Other dishes like pizzas, pasta and garlic bread also were tasty.They also have a 2 cocktails for 1 offer on. Service great and apart from some confusion turning music down (they thought we wanted lights dimmed!😆) we really enjoyed it .

Returned to Hollathans with family and enjoyed excellent service from making reservation, walking through the door and throughout our stay. Diverse menu with plenty of choices and even a happy hour with meal reductions. Did not have to wait long for drinks and food order. We all had something different (5 of us) and everything was perfect But I must recommend the muscle starter or main course. Fresh, large and with a beautiful sauce. Obviously will continue to return

Hollathans Last minute trip to this spot after work this morning. Quick bit lunch and can I just say I was very impressed with the menu , had lots of variants. Good drink selection, 241 cocktails on Thursdays. Starter and main fir 9.99... plenty options Potato skins bit thick 5/10 Pizza was lovely bit of a thin crispy crust for my liking but unreal flavours 7/10 BBQ parmo- had better parmos but have travelled far for them 🤷‍♀️ still a decent one tho 7/10 Service was 10/10 Will be back. We went here last week on a recommendation and weren't disappointed, so we booked the same table again for last night. When we arrived the table had a reserved sign on but we were told it had been reserved by someone else, this later changed...

We visited here last night for a family birthday meal after hearing some good reviews, we weren't disappointed! They were short staffed so not everything went smoothly but the staff who were working did a fantastic job, they worked non stop all night and nothing...

Probably the best fillet steak (apart from a wagyu one) that I have had. Everyone enjoyed the food. Only downside was that I tried to reserve a table via the website and did not get a response so had to call. So 4* overall, but food 5* plus!
