I did not expect to be upset by visiting Daisy Green restaurant in Holland Park. I went to investigate the new restaurant with a view to using it regularly if it turns out to be as good as it sounds. Ordered my take away coffee, and was offered a card machine to pay. It turns out, you only take cards. I was furious. You won't take my money ????? I had about £200 with me. So there are 3 million people in the UK who don't have bank accounts, let alone credit cards. This is for many many reasons. Some of which is that they are vulnerable or have had financial difficulties. They are not pariahs , but according to you they are. So you are an exclusive establishment. You only serve those who suit you ? Then there is the fact that you are encouraging banks and credit card companies to hold you , and therefore us to ransom. Once cash is not used in society, they decide how much to charge you for taking their card payments .... and who will ultimately pay ? US, the customer. You and other businesses are responsible for this . Trust me, once there is no choice you will HAVE to pay what they want. Many companies are now refusing Amex cards because of this exact reason. Do you not realise that once there is no cash in society , they will all work together ??? You won't take my money , my legal tender, the money I might give to my grandchild when they start to learn to go up to the counter with money to gain confidence and learn how it works, or maybe it's their pocket money ? oh but how can they spend their pocket money ....you have to get a 5 year old a bank account with a card for them to tap ? learn about change and what money they get back ? no need I suppose . So i will not be coming back, not to buy a take away OR use the restaurant. I have a company that helps and supports clients in the area. Well they are not going to be guided and referred to you. One of whom had seven children up to 25 years old and lives very close by, I will explain my thoughts to them. I did not expect to come to the park and was upset this morning. Not something I will forget. My thoughts will be shared on Google ( I am told by them that my reviews have reached tens of thousands of people , though i find that hard to believe). Ive just looked at your reviews and it looks like other people have had their own disappointments. There are FB groups encouraging people to boycott companies who don't take cash. I myself am a member of one of them and am obliged to share. I will be writing to my MP and giving your company as an example. In fact I may as well just cc him and perhaps the local council who i presume rent the property to you? Yikes on googling who owns it, Tripadvisor came up and there are also some negatives about your new establishment. Perhaps you could rethink your policy Daisy Green and consider reading some of the other reviews. It doesn't look like it will take too much for you to improve your reviews. The Holland Park Cafe is important to SO many people , it is a precious resource. You are letting us all down, being a part of changing our society and how the banks control us .

I go to this café often, but the last time I went a few days ago with my friends for coffee and pastries, the staff's behaviour was very strange. After half an hour waiting NO ONE came to our table to take our order, and one of us had to go directly to them to ask them to come and take our order. This happened several times while we were at the café. They completely ignored us. This will be the last time my friends and I go to this place. What a shame.

A good supper of beef shin Red Pasta mafalda and Australian banana prawn pappardelle with a friend last Saturday evening on the outside terrace at the revamped Holland Park Cafe, recently reopened as a full Daisy Green chain restaurant. It looks across to playing fields, has the splendid Holland Park Opera alongside, and the old cafe's chess players are still at their tables. With very friendly staff, its only disadvantage is it shuts early - last orders at 4pm Mon and Tues and 7.30 pm other days

The only thing going for this cafe is its location. Toasted cheese sandwiches were a disgrace. Tasteless cheese slapped between two slices of cheap white bread and served by disinterested staff. Surely they can do better than this?

We'd ended up in the area and decided to check out the park, then decided to stop for a drink and a snack. The place felt a little small given the one-way set up due to Covid. There was hand sanitiser readily available and the person on the till was nice and polite. The drinks and cakes were fine. We preferred to sit outside - it'd been raining on and off so the table was damp, but luckily the seating had been tipped up to keep it dry. We cleared up after ourselves and that was that. Nothing spectacular, but not bad, either.

None of the pastries at the counter were vegan, which is shocking in this time and age. I asked to have a dark hot chocolate instead but the chocolate powder they use isn't vegan. After that, I was dismissed by the staff and he started taking orders from other people. He could have at least offered me an alternative? Bear in mind, if you want soy milk it's 45p extra, which is outrageous.I took a small bottle of iced tea from the fridge at a knock-down price of £4.75. How is this justifiable? Also the tables under the arches stank of piss.

An opportunity wasted! No-one seems to care or take responsibility.Went to Holland Park with the family early on a Sunday afternoon. Queued for ages hoping for a simple warm meal at lunchtime - as the signs advertised at the entrance to the queue. Finally got to the counter to be told they weren't serving any hot food that day. The cold selection was very limited and unless you wanted ketchup with a tuna salad, there was nothing else to make the bland food appetising. The staff can't be blamed but where was the management? It doesn't take much imagination to change the signs at the entrance to say "no hot food today" or to put a simple menu showing what is available. This would at least prevent some of the obvious frustration of anyone who also queued for ages, only to find nothing suitable at the counter. In addition, there are plenty of tables outside but most were taken up by middle aged men playing board games - bypassing the queue and not buying anything from the cafe. The location is so good and the cafe could be exceptional - it's just that no-one seems to care.

A bit of a shadow of its former self in these challenging times. Serving take away drinks and comestibles only only one staff member was on hand leaving many potential customers to give up queuing for a tea in a plastic cup or find half a plastic table on a patio outside at which to drink it.

The place is not terrible but It’s disappointing as this cafe could be so much more with the beautiful park at its door step. The place looks poorly managed, there is litter on the terrace, the staff look disinterested, the man at the till hardly spoke English and got our order wrong. I really don’t understand how people managing places like this are so clueless. The name of the cafe is Holland Park Cafe by Cooks and Partners - if cooks and partners sent someone here to overhaul the staff and renovate a little it could be a lovely little cafe.

Two years ago I wrote a scathing review of this cafe. Today we were in the park and decided to give it another go - big mistake. My wife decided to have a pre packed sandwich and I picked a cello wrapped sandwich with a sticker saying hand made. My wife’s sandwich was just about ok but I was shocked when I opened my sandwich. It consisted of two dry slices of bread, three slices of cheddar cheese, the type you would buy from a supermarket, and one thin slice of tomato. Unbelievably when I took my sandwich back I was asked ‘do you want butter on your bread?’ as if I was asking for something unusual. He took it away and got it buttered. I was speechless. Needless to say we will never use this cafe again.

¡Seriamente! Went yesterday, Monday for a bite to eat at lunchtime. The mugs of tea where nicely generous however we were underwhelmed by the tired sandwiches and lemon cake. No drizzle there and dry enough to go back. This was readily replaced along with the prawn sandwich dated two days previously. We were offered a free coffee to make up for it by the very nice staff. The impression we got was that much of the food on offer had been hanging around over the weekend and although within the best by date was well past it. Maybe don’t go on a Monday.

Great Park in central London, beautiful surroundings, but the most appalling cafe service possible. It is run by worst management. You will wait and wait and wait while usually, only one person serving regardless of the queue. They tend to close early too. Also prices are more then you would expect from a place like this. I don't know who runs this company but sincerely hope that one day they lose the lease and let more enthusiastic people run this place.

Admittedly it was a very warm March Saturday and there were lots of people in the park but the cafe was really understaffed.Firstly there was a very long queue to get served then a further slightly shorter queue to wait for the coffees to be made. The prices are high for very average food and the paper cups were too small - even for tea. The first chair I sat on was broken and had I not been more agile I could easily have tumbled to the floor. There were overflowing rubbish bins and uncleared tables that were a magnet for the pigeons. Then my wife found an unidentified hard object (possible bone) in her tuna sandwich. They did refund her money but tried to convince her it was a piece of tuna skin. It's a shame when the cafe is set in such lovely surroundings.

We went during a rainy day so the cafe was a saviour of the day. There were many outdoor seats but I suppose on a sunny day it would be awesome. I'm giving 3 stars because the coffee would be really good if they use a barista instead of coffee machine. All in all nice cafe, just that the coffee could've been better.

After wandering round the park, we visited this cafe. I had a bowl of vegetable soup, delicious and warming. There is plenty of choice for a snack or just a drink. The cafe is on two levels, a sort of L shape. At one end a group of 'yummy mummies' with babies and toddlers were sitting, it seemed as if this was a regular place for them to meet up. A notice board in the cafe gives details of events etc.

The location of this cafe, in my favourite London Park makes me probably more positive about the café than it probably deserves, especially if you like squirrels. The food is ok if rather unimaginative, but a toastie is always welcome on a cold frosty morning and the tea is good quality. The main problem is the speed of service which is very slow, which creates long queues often with fractious small children, so suggest you're there no later than 10.30 on a Sunday !

I stopped for a tea after a stroll in the park, it was fine and really cheap for London, the food looked ok but rather boring, everywhere could do with a clean especially the outdoor furniture

Quite a busy cafe on a Sunday, I believe understaffed due to us seeing the dishes piled up. We did however enjoy the soup of the day served with a crusty. Service was good considering the number of people there. Reasonably priced, you could have the soup or for an extra 1.50 a sandwich with it which we thought was a good deal.

I have come to this café for nearly 40 years although it has changed of course. It is in a superb position with outdoor seating at the front and rear and it is modern and light inside. A pot of tea for 2 is a bargain at £2.50 and I actually got 2 pots. Service is a bit on the slow side but the staff are pleasant. The cakes are good and some of them are fairly priced for a café in this location. I think if you want hot food or sandwiches you are better of heading out of the park as I don't think there is much choice.

This self service cafe is all you really need in a park. They sell basic lunch time items like sandwiches, sausage rolls, soup of the day. The do a kids lunch with fresh fruit, muffin and sandwich. I think to add a water or juice would be better value for money though. Soup of the day was super, could have eaten another portion on the autumn day we were there! I do however think that more could be done to the menu and environment - just looking a bit tired and weathered!

Burnt overpriced coffee, small choice of snacks, and quite unfriendly and bored looking staff. Surprised that over the years that cafe hasn't improved at all. Makes more sense to purchase coffee or any drinks, food etc before entering the park.

I wouldn't normally review such a small meal. We just needed a snack before the opera, and ordered the soup of the day ("spinach") and some cake. The problem was that the soup ("made on our premises") contained crushed woody stalk splinters. We grow spinach in many varieties, and one definition of this oddly variable plant is that it has no wood. When we warned the kitchen girl, and asked where the soup was made, we were simply told it was made there but she was not responsible, nor did she know what the ingredients were.Once we eliminated the long woody splinters, the soup tasted OK, though not very spinachy, and the cake was good.Nice sitting outside on a warm evening.

Lovely park, lovely building but poor food leads to so much wasted potential. Sunday visit, Coffee machine not working, wait reasonable (suddenly filled a blink of an eye later so timing is everything) but poor selection of food although some nice looking scones that Mr Crow hopes to try later. Nothing apparently took my 12 year olds fancy (limited selection of 'posh' sandwich fillings) but they did offer up a ham and cheese toasty which came quite quickly. Ironically Mr Crow had ham and mustard sandwich but lack of mustard meant it probably been ok after all. The bread on Mr Crows ham, mustard and lettuce sandwich looked a bit dry on opening but it tasted quite nice. Only writing this did mr crow remember that it was meant to contain mustard- if it did, Mr Crows taste buds indicate that it must have been very very mild. Unfortunately though, they must have been short in ham and whilst it looked nicely filled in the packet, the reality was that it was a thin sliver across the diagonal cut. Same with toaster but Mrs Crows Brie sandwich was adequately filled. One expects more for the price paid. Tea was nice, shame no extra water for a topup. Average but could be so much better. Sort of place that even with it pouring with rain, you would enjoy it.

Had an impromptu trip to Holland Park - not been to the park before but we were aware there was a café so decided the family would get lunch there.Selection quite limited and not willing to make a plain ham sandwich to order. Coffee machine broken which is unfortunate these things do happen - but the service at the till was so slow. Not impressed. Another time we'll bring a picnic!

We stopped in for a quick lunch. There was no queue so we thought this would ensure timely service. Basically:-cash only as credit card machine down-£1 extra to have eggs scrambled instead of fried -food took half an hour to arrive; diners who arrived after us were served well before we were -the egg had shells in it when it finally did arrive (I use the singular as there was one egg only)-food quality was averageBetter choice would be to exit the park and eat at local restaurants instead

Located near the playground within Holland Park, very handy if you have kids. The place itself is well presented, relatively clean albeit the tables might need to be cleaned more often. The food is ok, suitable for a quick lunch or a coffee. The service on the other hand needs improving. The staff is friendly but not well organised.

Bank holiday in August - It's the biggest carnival in Europe. People will overflow into the cafe but even so it's not ready. The staff are friendly and serve well but there is simply not enough people. Why when such an affluent area you say? I don't know but queuing 15min for a coffee was a joke. Also the cafe gardens had garbage on the table with pigeons in attendance. Very poor and a poor advert for 'Holland Park', so called expensive part of London.Needs better management :(

As a local who uses this place quite often the service is dependent on when you go there. Mornings, which I suspect are where to good review are for, are ok, and the breakfast is pretty good. However, if the park is busy it is awful. Long queues and usually not enough staff. I personally feel that with a little more effort this could be a great place to go. For example on Bank Holiday Monday grandchildren in tow, the queues were ridiculous and the ice-cream parlour was closed!! Why? On Bank Holiday? Incompetence is the usual problem, and apathy probably of under paid staff working for corporate chains in most parks these days, do not provide the best service.

This a café within the park which has a small selection of Sandwiches, salads, Paninis and pastries. They also do a nice soup of the day. Prices are a little dear. There is usually somewhat of a queue here on hot days at peak times. The cafe has a nice outdoor seating area in the shade. Part of it has disabled access/access for buggies. Although it does not have its own toilets, the ones for the park are nearby.

Abysmal service. Had to queue for about 10 mins before I could even order. There were about 5 staff present but only 2 were serving. The self service cabinets needed restocking. I had a cup of tea and a cookie which was dreadful: dry to the point of being crisp like. Dreadful.

Evitar a toda costa.

We are here in London from the United States and so happy we found Brown & Rosie in Nottingham! We spent three weeks traveling around England… Brown & Rosie is at the top of our list of favorite places. We had dinner twice and breakfast once. Hamburgers were awesome. My French toast topped with fruit and ice cream was delicious! Not sure when we will back to London but we will never visit London again without stopping in at Brown & Rosie! Thanks so much from an American Tourist!

As long as you have an eternity to send here you should be golden. The service is there, but cannot really see it, food is a lot faster than expected considering it took 30mins to order and only 20mins to get the food. And if you forget to order something you might as well make peace with the fact you won’t get it. Staff is nice, but for some reason four floor staff and two in the kitchen Chen struggled to serve five tables with 20 people in total and quite a few people waiting to be seated had to leave.

Brilliant event, from the planning to the actual event itself. Food was delicious, service was fantastic and everything was just seamless! Kim was always on hand to help in the run up and Clara was great on the day - thanks to the whole team! Going to the pub afterwards in our fancy dress outfits was the perfect end to our time at The Phene. A fabulous work Christmas event.

For many years I used Greenfields where I received consistently outstanding courteous, friendly, and swift service. Now where are they? Food quality was always the highest and prices reasonable but creeping up forced upon them by rapacious landlord happy to cede their territory to the growing French / Belgian community. Was it not Bonaparte who referred to the English as a "nation of shopkeepers"? Is it not ironic, therefore, that where he could not win at Waterloo his descendants could in South Ken....
