I stood 15 mins waiting to check in as a sign said "attendant is helping other guests, back in a moment." Other than that they were friendly. The room itself was kind of small. You can tell it's an older hotel that's had a makeover. One of the two elevators didn't work. They left the old bathtubs in place, put new shower walls and fixtures in. Painted over plates covering the old lighting electrical boxes. It was a very quick makeover. Our shower fixtures were loose in the wall. There was a vent in the bathroom but it didn't work (I've noticed that at a lot of places lately.) The tv only had about 20 channels and a few of them didn't pick up, the one's that did didn't get a great signal. Our "view" was one of the other side of the building and overlooking the hvac units, trash cans and the dumpster. We woke up to the sound of trash cans dragging acrosss the parking lot early Sunday. We booked the room due to it having a hot tub, but it was so crowded with loud screaming children the entire time that we didn't get to use it or the pool. This was supposed to be romatnic getaway weekend for my wife and I to unwind after a long season of work. It was not bad, but not good either. I will stay somewhere else next time. I can say this, the ac/heat unit did work quite well. Also, it's convenient. If i were just passing by and needed a place for the night, it would be fine. very quick doordash delivery. You could tell that in a very nice area, this was one of the more shady hotels.

We stopped here twice, in the way up north and the way back. Hotel is clean and reception staff helpful, breakfast is an added bonus. The only downfall is the beds, they are lacking in support, sagging in the middle, the first room was much worse than the second. Hotel ideal situated next to retail park, plenty of food outlets and cinema. We took in a couple of movies.

Only good things to say are that the desk clerk was very pleasant and the room is clean. BUT the room is tiny, the “double” bed is not even close to a queen size, there is only 1 usable electrical outlet and it’s along the baseboard, the shower is insanely small. Just everything is about 2/3 the size it should be. I wouldn’t dream of staying here again.

They booked us in and paid for the booking but when we arrived they were no room available for us !!! What happened is, we searched on Google (Holiday Inn) and we got this branch so we called the hotel and asked for a room to stay. They told us that we have availability, to secure this room you need to pay and then we paid for the room . When we arrived at the hotel we have been told that there is no booking or whatsoever!!! And we had to go back again to google and call again and let them talk to each other!! Everyone blames the other and we were confused on the middle !! So unfortunately we had to sleep in our Car in the car park. To be fair, the lady who was in the reception offered us to stay and relax on the Sofas and have coffee.

10/10. I travel a lot hence make lot of points and when we go on holidays with family (4) we usually go to Express. On average good, but this one is an exception from reception to breakfast all was great with friendly staff. Room is still ok to accommodate 4. We usually spend 1 night so as far as it is clean space is ok. So, again congratulation to all of you.

Rooms and bathrooms are small. Is about 10-15 min away from Inverness town center. The staff makes an effort to make this a nice stay with things that they can control. There is always water/coffee/tea in the breakfast area which is pretty big and lots of groups hang out there.

Holiday inn Compressed! Worst hotel experience of our month long trip. Travelling from Aus we arrived to find our "family room" was so tiny we couldn't even fit our 3 suitcases in the room let alone open them out. The sofa bed folded out and jammed hard against the desk. You didn't want to spend anytime in the room it was so devoid of any personality. The complimentary breakfast consisted of machine made dry eggs stale bread and some kind of juice concentrate that was barely tolerable. We learnt the hard lesson of having a travel agent help us with our bookings. Upon check in we were so devastated with the quality of the hotel and tiny rooms we asked to cancel our second night. We were told we had to get our agent to cancel it (it was 11pm at night back home) they were so unhelpful and abrupt. Despite mentioning the overflowing trash cans greeting you on arrival not to mention the smell of urine the bins were not addressed until late the following day. Not a hotel you want to ever be stuck in. Writing this almost 2 weeks later still causes me distress. our room didn't have milk or coffee but we were told to "fill it ourselves" from the breakfast area ... apparently even having basic amenities properly stocked was beyond them. Not conveniently located to the sights of inverness with limited dining options without access to a car. EDIT: I spent my first 2.5 hours in Inverness bouncing between our travel agent after hours call centre and IHG trying to resolve this issue. I also attempted to speak to the hotel management at the time. Our concerns were also emailed with photo proof of the issues raised in this post so I find it incredibly insulting to be asked by the hotel to re email my concerns!! We were told the hotel and IHG were not willing to address our concerns or assist us in any way. I add this to address the default reply by management.

Disappointing Stay Due to Extremely Limited Space and Poor Service I recently checked in to the Holiday Inn Express, Inverness, with my family, and our experience has been quite disappointing so far. We booked a room for two adults and two children, expecting a comfortable stay. However, the room provided is incredibly small, making it very difficult for us to move around or even store our luggage. The room has one double bed and a sofa bed, which leaves barely any space to walk once the sofa bed is extended. This lack of space has made our stay quite uncomfortable, especially with two children. Additionally, the bathroom is also very cramped, adding to our inconvenience. To make matters worse, there is an insufficient supply of tissue paper, which is a basic necessity. On top of these issues, the service at the front office was not satisfactory. Upon check-in today, the front office staff asked me to pay the bill in advance, despite the fact that I had already paid. It was only after my continuous requests that she cross-checked and confirmed that the payment had been made. She did not offer any apology for the mistake, which left a bad impression. I have to stay here for another two more days as I have a 3-night stay from July 14, 2024. Due to these issues, I have decided to avoid staying at any Holiday Inn locations in the future, worldwide.

The room was tiny, although booked for two (sep) beds it was a double + a sofa bed. Hair all over the bathroom floor Breakfast was sufficient Cleaning services didn't clean room although we saw them earlier in the day so had to ask reception specifically to clean the room then was asked if "we were complaining" madness for the price. However located close to A96 so good transport links but not in inverness city itself.

This is a typical holiday inn express - small bare rooms but with tasty breakfast and excellent service. We had a flight issue that delayed us getting there by a day but the hotel staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was well stocked, rooms were adequate but the service was fantastic. We had one issue when maid service didn’t turn up one day but the lady at the reception brought us fresh towels and sheets when requested. Grocery store and restaurants are nearby, Can be a little pricey for what you get during summer but what isn’t in that neighborhood. Recommend this property.

overall a nice experience. clean rooms, helpful staff. only issue was 3 days in a row had noises coming from the heater, water tank ? or in general. went on pretty much all night. maintennance did not fix it & manager had t figure it out for herself. also, toilet clogged up. all we got was a free drink while waiting for things to be fixed. they could've given us a small credit for the room. the location was a bit far out of town so we did have to take a taxi to get to town for tours, etc.

I have been staying for several days for work reasons. The location is good and it has ample parking. The attention from the reception staff is attentive and correct. The rooms fulfill their function although there are certain things that are not as they should be paying the money they cost. The fact that there are no plugs near the bed is terrible but it happens in all holidays inns. I understand that the cleaning staff has to do their job but if you are staying for several days and need to rest after work, it is not nice to have a vacuum cleaner wake you up at 8:30am when check out is at 11. I think the Noisier jobs should be made to enter the guests' check-out time and check-in time. The work table is quite small. The bathroom is like all holidays inn express. It had quite a few dark stains that I assume are mold due to humidity.

Only negative was people standing outside my room window , which looked out onto the hotel entrance walkway, smoking and talking very loudly late at night.Surely smoking area could be moved from the entrance walk way as this is overlooked by quite a few rooms who must also have been bothered by the loudness and who wants to walk through a smoke fog to get into the hotel. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was fine but food could have been a tad warmer.

We were really looking forward to our stay. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the friendly owner. In addition, the hotel is very quaint and clean. But... and now comes the big but: the service is an absolute disaster. At breakfast we were greeted by a very unmotivated and unfriendly lady and we quickly decided not to have breakfast in the hotel and rather visit a café. In the evening we wanted to give the hotel's pub/restaurant a try. We sat there for an hour without anyone coming to us. When we wanted to get drinks at the bar, we were greeted again in an unfriendly and grumpy manner. Otherwise we were ignored by the two waiters. They preferred to eat and drink with the people at the bar. But when local guests arrived, they were immediately served and given a card. We hadn't received a menu yet. And that after a good 1.5 hours. When we mentioned this, it was said that drinks were not ordered at the table but only at the bar. This turned out to be untrue when the waiter also provided other tables with drinks. When we asked for the menu, it was put in front of us without a word and the food we ordered was then brought back in a wordless and grumpy manner. It was our fourth trip to Scotland. We have never experienced such behavior in any hotel. This time we wanted to support a small hotel and family business and not always the big hotel chains. But this experience makes us think again.

It was beautiful, it was good, it was plentiful and the sound was good. To respond to other comments, yes, you can smell the frying when you leave, but like in many establishments of this type, with a kitchen open to the room. Serving time is normal and the waiter was friendly and humorous. I recommend.

While on a business trip to England, I happened to go there and had the most delicious steak. steak ciabatta sandwich. If I had stayed longer in Scotland, I would have tried other foods, but I couldn't try any more due to my London itinerary. I don't think I'll ever come back again, but it was a truly memorable meal. The best steak and potato chips I've ever had That's the chef. How on earth did you fry those potatoes!!???
