Hold King Chinese Takeaway in Bradford

Waited an hour and a half for our food and when we asked where it was they cancelled our order. Disgusting service. Don’t bother with this Chinese.

This place has really gone down hill what was a great takeaway now quite the poor food lukewarm salt and pepper chicken so dried up it was hard to chew. Chow mein like yesterday warm up.

Pork was raw and SEAWEED WAS ACTUALLY CABBAGE rip off liars if I wanted raw pork n cabbage I'd have gone to my aunties for Sunday lunch ....

Food is ok. nothing special and a little bit bland. you dont get much meat in the dishes, delivery is fast. much better places around but was worth a try. but wont be ordering again. China garden at greengates is miles better

Not tried takeaway for a while as standard had dropped! But I am glad I gave this place a try with no regret. Food was delicious and tasty! The young girl in the counter was so sociable and friendly! Wlll definitely back here and recommend my mate's!

We love Chinese food, so here is our review of Hold King Wrose road Bradford. We live very close to Hold King Near 5 lane ends, we have used another Chinese for many many years no names mentioned, after Trying Hold King We are Sold, the food is beautifull fresh and very good portions to, very polite and friendly staff, everytime we have had a takeaway from this place it has been very tasty and hot, our review is personal of our experience with this shop and I hope this review helps you choose, 10/10 from us .

Excellent sing a poor fried rice

HOLY MOLY I ordered the chow mien and nearly died , it was so good, I quit smoking because of it, who needs nicotine when u have hold king. I was a about to die then it saved me, a man was attacking me then he stopped when he saw I liked hold king.

Tried a couple of times and to be fair it's not bad, but having said that a "Special Curry" is not that difficult to get wrong, but they did get my partner's order wrong, she ordered a veggie dish (being a vegetarian) and we collected a pork dish !! ... To be fair they did say they would prepare the dish again for collection in 10 minutes, and said to keep the pork dish or freeze it.

Weve used this place for a few years. Last time it wasnt as good as usual but we tried it again. It was truly awful. Not very hot. Poor quality food. A disgrace.

Over hour and a half waiting after being told 30 mins. Bloke on phone said not to pay women on delivery went mental, braying on our door, ringing police, screaming at passer Byers being violent, disgusting behaviour

didnt like the food to be honest, i only went here because our local one is shut on a tuesday( that will teach me ha), rice stodgy and chicken not taste nice😝😔

We used to order from here at least twice a month that was minimal but we will NOT be ordering again the past 3 or 4 times we have ordered the food hasn't been anywhere near as good as it used to be .....this chinese has put its food up quite a bit and is most definitely one if not the most expensive in our area bit the food is now very disappointing......after foning to complain that my food wasnt as it used to be I just got a mouthful from the owner I complained that there was no prawns in my special fu yung he argued the toss with me that there was 2 small ones and there most definitely wasnt any in all that was in it was chicken and the occasional tiny bit of char su ......you dont even get prawn crackers now and as I understand all businesses are struggling because of the pandemic I personally feel these people are only out to make a quick buck and no longer care about the customer

We paid £20.60 for 2 half portions & 2 measly sides, completely out of order & waste of money. Stick to China Red if you want value for money its located in Shipley centre & they do deliver...give this Hold King a rest no point ordering!!! 👎

Have bought from here for years, tonight was the worst I have ever had, the meals looked like they had been microwaved an the salt n peppa were aneemic. Rang to speak with the owners whom were not interested one bit. Won't be going back!!!

honestly this is by far the worst place I've ever got a chinese from. ordered special schezuan which is a large container. I had barely any meat and mostly the crispy vegetable tofu type that tastes of wood. after I had picked out all of that and got to taste the rest I thought I'd just ate pure salt. I asked for (dry) shredded crispy beef and instead I got crispy beef in sweet and sour sauce. I dont know if it was a different chef or if it's because of lockdown but I can never trust to eat from here again! ended up throwing it all away and ordering elsewhere, when I got the food from there it was hot, had plenty of chicken beef etc the rice was light and not burned and I didnt need to drink a litre of water to quench thirst after all the salt. I'd say avoid but maybe was an off night who knows. chance it if you need to

Absolutely disgusting customer service I ordered my takeaway and I was told it would be delivered with in 50 minutes to an hour to only get a text 15 minutes later saying we cannot deliver your food due to it being busy and that it’s too far even tho it’s only a 16 minute drive from the takeaway, I will not be ordering food from here again I think the staff are incredibly arrogant and need be more switched on when taking orders

Our usual chinese closed so we went to Hold King, Wrose. Firstly this was expensive in comparison to our usual. Salt and pepper chips appeared frozen and consisted of a few choped chillis.Not like the ones we enjoy with peppers,onion ,garlic, and lots of chilli and flavour. Salt and pepper chicken lacking in flavour and appeared like frozen small balls that were over cooked. Curry was like the shop bought a sauce and the prawns were horrible.The vegetables in it were boiled not crunchy. Hubby fried rice was lacking any flavour. OK sauce was dark and good colour but again bland. Extra curry sauce was again like shop sauce. Positives from the meal was honey ribs.They were nice in flavour although fatty. My egg rice was ok. We would give it a 5 out of 10. Really disappointed and note to self poor.. do not use again. I really felt like I have made better at home. Shame as many years ago this was a good chinese.

I'm very lucky to have Hold King as our local Chinese takeaway. The food is consistently good, very tasty and a pleasure to eat. I cannot rate hold king to highly.

I ordered a Chinese from here Saturday evening. Really expensive and didn’t receive what I’d ordered. I didn’t have a menu on ordering. Everything charged separate. £5.70 for a duck dish, charged £3.00 for noodles, 6 small chunks of duck in the dish I received. Sent beef curry without the chips I ordered, received a sweet and sour sauce at a cost £1.60 instead. The beef curry was nice but a very small portion, especially with no chips!!.

Great food and service. Reasonably priced as well. Also, very prompt deliveries.The menu is comprehensive without being overwhelming and the staff are a cheerful and friendly bunch.

Overall a very solid place to order from, I like what they do with their Salt + Pepper Dishes and I've not had a bad experience eating from here.

Ordered beef and black bean with fried rice. Expecting to get two trays. It came in one and to top it all it was chicken not beef. The portion was tiny. I will never go there again. Diabolical

A local takeaway that's always 1st class. Polite helpful staff and reasonable prices. Have now tried almost all the menu and have always been satisfied.

This is one of the best chinese take aways around, delivery time usually 45 mins on a fri night but wirth the wait.

For years we have been going to Hold King for chips if we want a quick meal, having been out or if we just don't feel like cooking and up until recently, the chips have been fantastic. The portion is very large and nothing else is needed to fill you up. However, over the past few weeks, they have been overcooked and much less appetising, so much so that we have started going elsewhere.
