We have had some good meals and snacks here but have now learnt that the cafe closed in November last year. We do not know whether it has been or may yet be resurrected in any form sometime. It's a pity. They tried really hard.

I visited this venue with my family during a sunday afternoon drive and was pleasantly pleased with my choice. The cafe is signposted, but not in the exact location google state, but some 200 yds up the road on the oposite side. It does not look much when you first drive in along the short track, but the actual cafe is remarkably clean and hygenic with some lovely touches. The staff are very obliging, if not perhaps as openly friendly as you come to expect in places like this. However, the food more than makes up for this and my wife and I chose the full breakfast, which was delicious. The prices are very reasonable too and there is some outside seating for the sunny days. It is generally a herb garden based on a farm, but is well worth a visit. Seating is quite limited though.

Stopped for coffee and cake on a ride prompt service prices reasonable and a fair selection of cakes and other food, Coffee good and hot but could do with a few more smiles with the service! Although that would not stop us from returning.

From the roadside it doesn't look like much, but carry on down their farm track/path and you will find a wonderful little café, clean and friendly with a good choice of food from quiche, sandwiches, jacket pots to soup and breakfast items. Such generous portions, good prices and freshly made and oh so tasty. Coffee was good too, and the cakes looked delicious, but after a wonderful bowl of soup and a sandwich which came with a side salad and couscous, we had no room to try the cake. That's for next time! Can't wait to go back. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Me and my husband met a friend here for lunch today. We were really impressed with the choice of food, the prices were very reasonable and service excellent. The cheese scones were especially good. A must for a lazy weekend.

We have visited Hogshaw Herbs Café on four occasions. It's a lovely little café which seats around a dozen folks indoors and a further ten or so outdoors. The Café is in an isolated spot which is easily accessible by car. The coffee and cake is great !

Sitting in Hogshaw Herbs sending this. (It's OK, no-one can see what I'm writing!). This is up with the best of genuine local English tea rooms. Except it does lunch, and all day breakfast, too. I'm enjoying - right now - scrambled eggs, bacon & mushrooms, which I like with English Breakfast tea. It is really good. The tea arrived within 3 minutes of being seated. It is fairly busy and the food came within about 10 minutes, which is fine by me. The eggs are grown on the spot - you can see the layers as you come in. The bacon, mushrooms and toast are fresh and tasty, sourced locally where possible. My wife has been twice before and tells me that the quiche and the soup (both homemade) were very good. The locally made cakes look fantastic, but I can only look... my low carb, high-fat diet, which is working wonders, won't let me eat them - yet. Prices? around the same or slightly below the nearby alternatives in Winslow. Today is warm and sunny and I would sit outside to admire the view of their local herbs (the boss here is an expert, and you can buy) fields, trees, grazing farm animals, etc., but I can't see the screen in the sun! Free Wifi though. I shall be back here.

Came here for an early lunch with my husband today. It was delicious! I had a piece of salmon and asparagus quiche which came with a leafy side salad and some potato salad. My husband had an all day breakfast. Not sure what the last reviewer was complaining about. Perhaps coming from London the prices seemed very reasonable to us - particularly considering the quality of the food. Could not fault the tea either. Loved seeing the farm animals too!

When we visited this cafe there were only 2 other customers yet our food took well over half an hour to reach the table, the tea was totally devoid of flavour (Aldi tea bags?) and the quiche, although of a very high standard, was unacceptably tiny for just under £5 - 2 cups of hot brown liquid and 2 tiny portions of quiche came to over £12? We left and had to go into MK to get food afterwards because of the tiny portions. For the price I felt robbed.

Hogshaw Herbs, nestles in the heart of the Vale of Aylesbury, and is a delightful spot brimming with raised wooden display's of fresh Herb plants to create your own Herb bed back in your Kitchen Garden. There is a Duck pond, to the rear of the Herb garden, safely contained so younger members of your party can watch the daily lives of the Duck family. Hens roam, so there is a supply of freshly laid eggs to purchase. The Menu has very innovative fresh local sourced produce, classic quiche with pastry that is as light as a feather, salads with colour and crisp texture. I did notice a picture of the Queen of Baking Mary Berry opening Hogshaw Herb Cafe, and the Coffee cake I had while visiting, you could have presented to her for judging, and in my opinion been awarded a Rosette.

This cafe is a gem. The people are lovely, the decor is simple and fresh and homely and the food is just delicious. Freshly made quiches, made with eggs from the hens you see pecking around by the gate, served with salad and edible flowers grown in the plant area just outside and cakes which are baked as you sit with your coffee. Just right for taking a bit of time out and having a really good natter with friends, family, husband, children, anyone in fact!

I'm a pretty regular visitor to Hogshaw Herbs - it's local, the staff are so friendly and the food is tasty, home made (usually by the staff who work here) and straight-forward. They have a really good selection of food, including bagels, paninis, jacket potatoes, quiche and delicious soups to name but a few. Also a delicious range of home made cakes :) An ideal place for lunch, whether alone or with friends, but it's a good idea to book ahead if you're going as a group as this little place is very popular!Added bonus for the children to be able to see the ducks, sheep, lambs (timing-dependant!) and chickens as this is a working farm.

This is an excellent stop for cyclists, walkers and drivers touring the rural lanes of north Buckinghamshire. You are unlikely to find it by accident unless cycling or lost ! As the name suggests, it is a simple, small cafe annexed onto a herb farm/shop. I understand the proprietress is a very knowledgeable herb gardener and very happy to advise anyone wishing to choose herbs suitable for their own gardens. As a cyclist, I was delighted to be able to stop and replenish my energy reserves with, on separate occasions I hasten to add, carrot cake and home-made flapjack. Delicious, as was the freshly brewed coffee. Clean, friendly, simple, decor, but possibly a bit "bare" in feel, especially if customers are few when you visit. But I suppose one man's "bare" is another man's "tranquil". Recommend you to seek it out when in the area.

I was taken here by a friend for a light lunch and was very impressed with the menu, particularly because it was all home-made. Delicious soup served with either bread or cheese and herb scone. The latter a first for me, it was very good. Enjoyed the carrot cake too. Wonderful to find somewhere that serves the herb teas I like. Friendly service, very clean, interesting bits and pieces to look at/buy in the way of aprons and other crafts - sorry can't remember what and Neal's Yard products. Bought some rape seed oil more cheaply than my usual supermarket and rape seed oil mayonnaise which I have yet to try. As I was only there for lunch was not at all disappointed with what was on offer. Plan to go again taking disabled husband (excellent wheelchair access) and look forward to seeing how it progresses.

Modest cafe, seems to be family run. Alongside farm herb business which is currently out of season. Very friendly staff. Short tasty tea shop style menu but all the goodies are on the blackboard above the counter. I had hearty tea and cake but the board had a lot of full on all day dishes. Not too sure of the intentions here. I had thought that this was intended to be ancillary to a busy culinary herbs nursery but I now get the impression that there may be an emphasis on medicinal and other therapeutic properties.

Needs oomph. It's clean and tidy. The staff are genteel. The furniture basic, the room bland but the cooking tasty. Sadly unless they find some interim distraction or attraction it is a bit soulless unless there are other customers in. Hate to suggest it but unless the ladies are going to offer something like a song and dance routine, or there is some palatable background music or maybe a big flat screen telly interlacing rolling news with uplifting and didactic presentations upon the merits of culinary and medicinal herbs, then the Winter setting is a bit dull. My score is based entirely upon the quality of the food and the politesse.

Turn into Hogshaw Road beside the Crown Inn and drive or walk about half a mile down till you reach this place on the right side of the road. Signs of recent fencing and gravel. Plenty of parking to the back. In a kind of annexe to the house is a single storey eating room and kitchen. Simply decorated, kitchen hatch to one side. Blackboard with the days choices. Service from breakfast to late afternoon all except Monday. Seems to be run by polite team of one older and one younger well spoken ladies. Looks as if it is in its embryonic stage. Needs a good deal more momentum and character that will come with the spring and the gull rush of the new crop of herbs in the purpose built enclosure outside. These are nice well intentioned folk with a good approach. Tasty homemade stuff sensibly priced. Good luck to them. Take a.look at the so far quite small website.

Couple plus adult son. Booked in here as a motorhome stopover. Table booked for the evening. Landlord was happy for us to park up with permission in the morning so we could spend the day with our son who’s moved in locally. Lovely olde worldy country pub. Clean, friendly, proper home cooking & prices. Play area for kids outside and covered seating also outside. Peaceful nights sleep on sloping grass. Defo recommend and defo return.

This is a traditional pub in many ways. It does have a bar/pub area with a hearth, a completely separate dining room also with a hearth, a separate nice covered patio, and a large outdoor area with play area for kids. I always enjoy coming here. The Sunday roast is very good and reasonably priced. Cannot complain and highly recommend a visit. The staff are always very welcoming.
