HK Central in Hertsmere

We have used this takeaway many times and on some, and the food is normally really good. but on some occasions, the food is not up to their standards.as this was the case last night, we had duck, chowmain, bbq ribs, chicken balls, and egg fried rice prawntoast. the food was absolutely disgusting. ribs were so dry.the duck chowmain, if you could call it, that hardly any duck burnt noodles and the prawn toast was burnt and so greasy we had to throw it all in all a very bad effort and experience

Order was placed at 7.30pm. The delivery was scheduled for 8.00pm to 8.20pm. The food was delivered at 8.35pm after chasing via the app and then calling. A reluctant sorry was given on the call. It seemed like the order had been around the houses because it was just warm when I got it. The food was just ok so definitely not worth waiting over an hour for. Given so many choices won’t order from here again. Why take the order if you’re too busy?

food was stone cold like it had been cooked way before driver took it. no tracking on where he was so probably multiple deliveries before mine.

I demand my money back. There was a Sharpe peice of plastic in the rice that would have perforated my bowel. This is unacceptable and dangerous

One of the dishes I ordered was sour. The chicken smelled like vinegar and tasted rancid. I contacted the restaurant and they wouldn’t help and said I had to contact just eat to sort it out. So disappointed

Terrible quality of the food, crispy chilli beef was soggy and stuck together. Singapore noodles veggie, were burnt and nasty. First and last time HK Central

Excellent food and has been for the last 10 yrs that I've been ordering from them. Never had a bad meal from them. Delivery driver is great, polite and happy. Thank you HK Central.

There was a stone in my rice, the duck stunk and wasn’t shredded properly even tho I asked. The last 2 times I’ve ordered they’ve for gotta sauces and after today order I just won’t order from here again. Duck wasn’t edible and cost me over £10.

Great, tasty, food but only delivered 26 minutes after the latest delivery time. We had to query if it was coming. Don't want to ask for money back, good restaurants can be v busy but they should keep us informed then we wouldn't mind. Seeing the status as being delivered and then having to wait beyond a reasonable time isn't good.

Food was ok delivery time was great. Please stop putting cold drinks within the same bag as the hot food! Such a shame as the delivery was so quick the food in essence should have been piping hot as opposed to luke warm

Quality of the food was excellent. I have ordered from this takeaway off and on for about 4 or 5 years. The food is consistently good, and portion sizes are more than adequate. Why do i have to give stars for restaurant svc. When it was delivered? The app won't let you submit otherwise!!!!

Food was hot and delicious as always. Not impressed we didn't receive the free prawn crackers we used to when you could order directly using their own app, only to be told their new app only works with iphone and not android. Also unimpressed to have been charged for a carrier bag and service charge especially as the actual food prices have increased so much. Will think twice before ordering again if at all.

Recommend their crispy shredded beef, it has beef as opposed to just fried which some takeouts do! Their sweet and sour chicken hk style is great and the Crispy ribs are a family favourite. The sushi is high quality and good portions. Love we can order sushi & Chinese from same place.

Good delivery but poor food. Our first time ordering from this Chinese and we won’t be back. The duck was fatty and dry and the noodles tasteless and with tiny amounts of chicken. Sweet and sour sauce too glutinous.

Very poor quality meats the ribs very boney and fatty, duck dish also very fatty and the battered prawns very wet and mushy, Singapore noodles were nothing like Singapore noodles no chillis and all dishes lacking flavour and vegetables. Very disappointing!

Sorry but the food was awful £13 for fillet steak cantonese style, 6 very small pieces of chewy over cooked steak, chicken balls with hardly any chicken in them and over cooked sesame prawn toast. The special fried rice was ok.

Delivery time has got a bit longer but I guess because they're so popular. Feel like the old owners went away for a bit but think they're back as the quality was great this time round.

Ordered many times in past but was disappointing on this occasion. Chicken balls and fritters were both overly doughy and overcooked making them crunchy with a mild burnt taste. Not my usual experience so a big shame.

Used to be one of the best takeaways in Borehamwood but unfortunately the quality has massively declined. The wings are in a horrible batter and tasted old and dry. There were barely any whole ribs and most were 80% cartilage. The Char Siu chow mein had microscopic bits of pork in and 0 flavour.

Delicious. Piping hot and early too. Winner, winner! Chinese dinner 🤤

Came back to deliver extra hoisin sauce that was forgotten. 5*

Food delivered early probably because they were closing which could explain the poor quality of the food. Chicken balls were stodgy inside but just about edible, the Singapore noodles had been burnt and the burnt bits scraped through the whole dish totally inedible very dry - had to throw away

Amazing food always, I live far away so whenever I'm visiting family I'm always sure to order. Lovely people, amazing food, would 10000% recommend, amazing sushi and Chinese food :)

Its was nice and very hot when arrived, but the lamb didn't look or taste like lamb and was very rubbery and chewy, so I wasn't very happy.

We have had an amazing takeaway which came the time we requested and was piping hot. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend ordering the Sushi and the Chinese. Re Chinese we enjoyed the Crispy beef with chili, Crispy lamb ribs and Chicken katsu. Everything was outstanding.

the chow mein was ok,the crispy noodles were not crispy at all and were wet and soggy,not what it should be.

My chicken balls was cold and really greasy to the point where I had grease all over my hands and my soup was really thick and my noodles was really bland,you shouldn't take so many orders when you can't deliver on time

Called the restaurant to see where the food was after it was over an hour they didn’t seem to care and said it was on the way

Food arrived fine and hot. Was lovely. I just don't understand why the app would say our food was on it's way when it clearly wasn't. I would have preferred to know it wasn't on it's way because I thought it was going to be cold but it wasn't. The driver said he had only been 5 minutes from the restaurant but according to the app he had left 45 minutes previous.

was very fast on the delivery but we didn't get an update or a map to let us know when the driver was on his way. very appreciated that the delivery note was read before the food left the restaurant as we requested chopsticks which were included. overall incredibly impressed with the restaurant but the delivery service could be better on updates.

I always order form here but last two times the starters have not been good. The mixed combination felt like it had be re heated... not good!

So many things went wrong, received noodles with prawn chicken and pork when the description indicated plain noodles. (I am a vegetarian) Upon ringing the restaurant and explaining the situation I was told that’s how they come and I should have rang her even though I had no reason to doubt the menu. She refused to replace my noodles and told me she was too busy and hung up the phone on me. I am disgusted by service received from HK central and will not be spending my money here. The food was also of poor quality and the whole order ended up in the bin! My advice is avoid at all costs!

Always good service and tasty food

Not fair. I made sure to call this restaurant to double check the prices as my friend ordered the same meal cheaper from them. I was told the prices changed and to go ahead and order from Just eat. When the food arrived it has a menu inside with this same exact Canton set meal for £15 and paid aprox £30 for it here on Just eat

I never received my order, I ended up phoning the restaraunt direct and reordering, Just eat now owe me £8.60
