Himalayan Inn in Gedling

We have visited the Himalayan in Arnold many times and have always loved the food and found the service excellent. Last night we ate in their new restaurant in Bingham. A beautiful, small space with lots of character and a very warm, friendly welcome and service. Food and drinks were excellent, thank you.

Visited for the first time last night and this place did not disappoint. We were running ten minutes late and a quick call to let them know was not an issue. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Big smiles and couldn’t do enough for you. The food was so so good! If I was to suggest anything, maybe a touch of background music and some mooded lighting but that really is just me being really picky. A wonderful place, thank you very much!

Very clean, crisp white tablecloths changed every sitting. Staff very attentive and polite. Food is absolutely wonderful, what more could you ask for!

Regular customers of the restaurant & on our recommendation a take away for 4 was ordered for a meal with friends. Has to be one of the most bland and uninteresting meals we have ever tasted. 3 different main courses ordered - all of which tasted the exact same to all of us and an overwhelming taste of tomato soup for them all. Culminated in one of the party having sickness & diarrhoea 2hrs post consumption. Worth noting that an email was written and sent the following morning advising the restaurant of our disappointment in the meal, nearly 4wks later now and still no response.

We usually eat in the restaurant but my sister in law is with us after major surgery so it had to be a takeaway, which was excellent. I hadn't tried the Chhoyla before but really enjoyed it. As ever, all the food was first class, we all enjoyed it

Visited the Himalayan Inn for the first time last evening and will certainly return very soon. Heard many excellent reviews from friends in the past and have to say, the dining experience met those high expectations and more. The restaurant offers a relaxed, friendly and courteous welcome from the lovely staff whilst all in our party throughly enjoyed their food which was top class and presented efficiently and well. The prices were very reasonablefor such quality food. Thank you for providing my friends and I a lovely evening. You are a total asset to the town.

We've eaten here before, always excellent food and service. we met up with a few friends last Sunday when they do a buffet. We thoroughly enjoyed it, obviously its not the full menu but plenty of choice - as ever, the spices compliment the flavours , not overwhelm them. We all had a great evening out, great food and service, will be back soon to choose from the marvellous main menu!

Visitamos el sábado pasado con un grupo bastante grande de alrededor de 15. Desde el exterior tal vez no sea tan atractivo, todo el lugar está arriba, por lo que parece una pequeña puerta desde el exterior, podrías pasar fácilmente y nunca notar que eres honesto. Cuando encuentres tu camino adentro, tengo que notar que el factor de apariencia realmente no mejora. No hay nada de malo en el lugar, por decirlo así, todo parece limpio y acogedor, solo que todo parece un poco anticuado sería la mejor manera de describirlo, supongo que aún no vienes a un restaurante por la decoración. El caballero que nos llevó a nuestra mesa fue absolutamente encantador, realmente se encargó de hablar con cada uno de nosotros y preguntarnos si había algo que pudiera conseguirnos (no es fácil con un grupo tan grande), y tengo que decir todo el El personal de principio a fin con también muy amable y muy acogedor.Primero, se nos dio menú de bebidas y casi todas sus cosas estándar para ser honesto, una buena selección de cervezas, vinos y refrescos y todo a un precio muy razonable, así que no hay mucho de qué hablar allí. Comenzamos con poppadoms y bandejas de encurtidos, he visto algunas reseñas aquí que se quejan de las bandejas de encurtidos y tengo que estar de acuerdo. No obtienes una gran cantidad de porciones aquí y todos terminamos comiendo nuestros poppadoms secos al final. Sobre la comida actual ahora; este lugar no es solo el típico indio, también hay algunos platos nepaleses justos y creo que esto le da una ligera ventaja sobre los competidores, no puedo pensar en ningún otro lugar donde pueda obtener comida nepalesa (usted también puede obtener todas las opciones indias "tradicionales"). En los platos principales ahora; Tuve un Daal Makhni (básicamente un curry de lentejas suave) con un arroz pilau y dividí un Bombay Aloo con un amigo, realmente quería Chapati pero solo podía ver a Naan en el menú, pero el camarero dijo que me harían un poco de todos modos (otra ventaja ¡para el servicio allí!) Una vez más, la comida estaba bien, tenía un buen sabor y todo sabía bien y fresco, solo cumplidos de la mesa, una cosa que realmente disfruté es que a veces puedo encontrar que este tipo de cocina es bastante grasosa y esto ciertamente no fue un problema en Himalayan Inn, los platos principales hicieron algo para redimir la decepción que tuve de los principiantes. Mi única queja leve con los platos principales fue que el tamaño de la porción de Bombay Aloo era muy pequeño, pedimos como acompañamiento pero literalmente obtuvimos dos papas cada una, por lo que mi consejo sería que si planea pedir un acompañamiento para compartir, podría ser mejor ordenarlo como principal.En general, la comida definitivamente compensó el aspecto poco atractivo del lugar desde la calle, pero el entrante fue un poco decepcionante. La variedad que ofrece el menú sirve para redimir esto y significa que definitivamente visitaré nuevamente ya que había muchos platos que quería probar, pero la verdadera joya de este lugar es el servicio, no hay otra forma de describirlo que solo muy buena gente! En cuanto al precio, era aproximadamente promedio, llegamos a unos 40 cada uno, pero teniendo en cuenta que eran dos platos, panes, acompañamientos y numerosas botellas de vino, creo que el precio era el correcto. Como dije antes, definitivamente volvería a visitarlo, ¡definitivamente vale la pena intentarlo!

Food was ok to Nice pompadoms were lovely but let down by the pickle tray ? main courses very nice , let down by the poor veg rice and pilau rice, breads were fine. We had our first takeaway from this restaurant last night and it was excellent. It arrived exactly on time as detailed on the online ordering system. The food was very fresh with lots of fresh produce used. We certainly enjoyed it very much. The lamb and chicken were beautiful and one of the best nan breads we have had. Will certainly be ordering again and we found it very good value for money.

Stumbled on this place by accident and very glad we did. It doesn’t look a lot from the outside but wait until you taste the food, fantastic!! The service was as good as the food and prices very, very reasonable. Probably in my top 5 Indian restaurants and I’ve visited many over the years home and abroad.

From our experience, the food was very average - certainly not good enough to make us want to go back. We were made to feel very upon entering the restaurant and was met with handshakes which is always nice. Unfortunately though that level of service was left at the door and we got the impression from there we were more of an inconvenience to our waiter. The other diners seemed to be regulars as they knew the owner by name which can only be a good thing but it had that local pub for local people vibe about it. Overall very average and the service isn't up to much. No reason to return any time soon.

We needed a table late one Saturday night and the Himalaya fitted us in. When we got there, the food was outstanding; full of flavour and excellent quality, even though the restaurant was busy. The owner of the restaurant made sure that we were well looked after and came over to speak to us; he was charming.

We tried this place for the first time last night for a takeaway & it was really lovley. The food tasted nice & fresh & inside looked nice when we picked it up. Will book to go in the restaurant next time & will have a takeaway again there very soon.

The meal was as always superb a wonderful choice and the portions are very generous the service is impeccable and the ambience delightful I can never fault this restaurant it really is special and you can easily tell that you are made to feel special.

Been past this restaurant many times & finally got round to having a meal tonight.

Visited this place in the past and food usually better than on this visit. Even though I ordered a fairly mild dish was still really spicy hot. Not very attentive in terms of staff. My biggest gripe was the fact that my blackcurrant and soda (which incidentally tasted like normal flat tap water) was more than my friends lager and when I questioned staff member about the cost I was told all soft drinks are a set price of around £2.55 per half pint. Think for bit of blackcurrant cordial this is ridiculous. Sorry guys but wasn’t impressed - most pubs charge no more than 80p for this drink (some a lot less) and they don’t class it on par with half a cola or similar. Restaurant wasn’t warm to sit in either. Not sure if I would return. Disappointing all in all.

Me and my wife visited last night and had the set meal for 2 ,it was amazing the waiter knew all about the food and the spices that went in it too . The popadoms and chutney tray cane out really fast and tasted great ,the starter was out of this world so so nice, grilled lamb chop a piece of chicken and an onion bhaji type thing too , awesome starter and then the mains came out and a basket of naan bread and a huge bowl of rice ,wow can't remember what we had 1 chicken dish and 1 lamb .Top service top food thank you

Regularly dine in the restaurant but for the first time we ordered a takeaway from Himalayan Inn last night. The order was delivered in the time as promised. Food was hot when it arrived. Curries were as delicious as they are in the restaurant. I can certainly recommend the very tasty medium heat spice chicken Gurkali although hubby likes the lamb Gurkali. Excellent!

Come in with family, celebrate event, ordered Vindaloo, and have Madras, oh well happens.

After not booking on a Saturday night,these guys pulled out all the stops to seat our party. Though very busy our table and everybody else in restaurant seemed to be served very quick and to a very high standard. The food was perfect as normal and service great. All staff know what they are doing. Thanks for another great evening. Will be returning asap.

Just had a lovely meal at the Himalayan Inn

We went here with family for my sons 16th birthday. We have been a few times now and it never fails to deliver. The staff always remember us and are always really friendly. Looking forward to my next visit in a few days.

My hubby and I and another couple visited The Himalayan Inn last night in Arnold and we were all very impressed. Everywhere was spotless, the staff were all very attentive and professional even though there were quite a few customers. The food was excellent, the prices were average but the food and service definitely wasn't! We will be going back to this superb restaurant very soon.

This is the second time I have visited this restaurant and I wasn’t disappointed. A warm friendly atmosphere awaits you,nothing was too much trouble,very friendly staff and the owner always makes time to have a chat. A wide choice of food and cooked to perfection (Perfick) has Pop Larkin would have said. This has to be one of the best restaurants serving Asian food I’ve ever visited and on the strength of that I will be returning with friends early December when I return to the area. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.

My Husband & I ordered a meal tonight from Himalayan Inn to collect. The website is easy to navigate & menu nice & clear. Ordering was easy enough & collection on time. The 'momo' dumplings starter that stated came with a tomato sauce didnt have it. Was very surprised to see a separate lamb shank for one of the mains. The sauce for this was quite bland other than a bit of a spicy kick & the lamb shank itself was mostly wasted as was very fatty. The other curry I can't much describe as was nothing special & not very memorable.

This is my favourite Place for food!!! As a family we have been here many times and we order delivery quite often also. I just have to say the staff are so friendly and helpful especially when it comes to choosing dishes. The food is always hot and always cooked fresh to order and always tastes amazing. Glad to see the place doing so well and keeping the high standards going after nearly 3 years. We shall keep returning and highly recommend to anyone.

Lost count how many times I’ve been here. Usually go during the week so fairly quiet. The food has always been outstanding, never had any issues with any food. I like lamb and have tried every lamb dish on the menu and always it enjoyed it very much. Very pleased with the service, always polite and professional. Ignore the 3 bad reviews on here, they clearly have nothing better to do with their time then moan and complain.
