Fishcakes we're vile. Looked liked they were yesterday's warmed up. Chips ok

Ordered takeaway via a delivery service, ordered 2 mini fish and chips and the portions was huge we even had 2 fish in one of them. I had cheeseburger and chips and the burger was lovely as was the chips. Overall good food and great portions at brilliant price

Worst chippy I’ve ever ever had

there was plenty of food and it was really nice and hot, the only thing I found was my battered sausage was burnt and hard to eat

The delivery driver was lovely and friendly. The schwarma wrap and chicken shish were great; I think the only things to improve it would be to add sauce; and to serve the salad for the shish in a separate box. Other than that, very tasty!

The chips were too greasy as was the haddock. I had to order separate as it didn't show up until paid for. So had to pay 2 delivery fees. I have had fish n chips from this shop a while ago, but they were beautiful . A bit disappointing that it's so much grease now.

I ordered on just eat large chips 3 large gravies and 2 steak pies and was charged for that but I only received 1 steak pie no apology or refund. Will never order from them again

this is a second review on this national treasure and its that good im writing this on my collage account to support bossman. i spend about 20 quid here a week and its worth it, highly recommend Chinese curry sauce. BOSHHHH

I come here with my mates 3 days a week and it’s absolutely fantastic. Fully recommend to locals and others as bossman always provides the most elite chippy in the county. Good value for the food and they sell the best chinese curry sauce. I’m not sure why it isn’t considered a national treasure but in my eyes it is. 10/10.

Arrived clock cold. Which is ridiculous when I’m a 5 minute walk away. It’s either been sat there waiting to be collected or it’s been sat waiting for someone to order it

Really surprised with this meal as food is usually good here. The cod which cost £7 was in a separate box and was covered in grease and fell apart when tried to take out and looked like a mini fish. Mini fish was under chips and again looked like mush mixed in with chips, awful food unless your like eating pure grease and not bothered your heart. Nicest thing was the sausage. Will never order from here again, surprised they let this order leave the shop for g to e price, just awful

Absolutely awful. The best part of it was the breadcake! The fish was tasteless and the batter slimy, the fishcake was tiny and the chips were undercooked and practically inedible. Never again.

Arrived just on time but the gravy had spilled and emptied all over the bag. Paid £7 for a fish that was absolutely tiny for the price. £17 for a meal that wasn’t all that and a bag of chips. Absolutely not worth it.

Chips are quite soggy, not much usually available. Usually the same 4 things. Staff is nice. Chips could be crispier, overall. It’s alright.

Fish in the mini fish special was a bit small chips nice curry nice need a large next time delivered quick would order again but fish needs to be bigger maybe go for a large fish Thank you

Halaal fish and chips . fish and chips was excellent and well prepaired . Food was nice and fresh . Food was nice and fresh . Portions were nice and big. Fish batter was excellent n crispy .

The chips, fish and kebab were good, a little lukewarm to say we only live 10 minutes away. The scampi however was disappointing, we only got 5 pieces of scampi for £3.50, which should really be mentioned in the item description as it's not really enough to class as a main.

Awful...between getting my food and getting home took less than five minutes, food was cold, batter on fish was slimy, beans tasteless. Gutted as was looking forward to it. Complete waste of money.

Really disappointed and probably the worst delivered food Ive had in a long time. Ordered Haddock, got a small overcooked piece, everything served in polystyrene, so everything was soggy.... large chips were tiny portions, and wet from condensation, tasted of old oil and no salt or vinegar.... battered sausages next to no batter, 1 gravy had burst, missing items had to claim a partial refund, chilli cheese bites were meh. Everything looked anaemic.... Never again, ruined a family treat.

Mixed service from this place, sometimes it's OK, sometimes it's terrible. Not a patch on the chippies around it.

Ordered from here a few week ago, didn’t get what I ordered understand things can sell out but wasn’t informed of this. Quality was poor and ordered large chips hate to see what a normal portion is

overall it was ok. chips and cheese n onion were nice however the haddock was super greasy and small for the price unfortunately and the curry was too watery. Not terrible but would prefer to try it fresher. Sausage was dry?

Vile! Not even worth 1 star. Firstly my pie came frozen. Asked for a large curry and it came small. Chips greasy and over cooked everything was just horrendous. When we called the restaurant to tell them about the pie the man was very rude and did not care, infact he blamed the driver saying it was his fault that the pie was frozen. Don’t waste you’re money. Worst place I have ever eaten from.

ordered fish cod at £5 looked like a mini fish gravy was horrid my grandaughter threw it away got no coke and no peas cost me £16 pound never use them again

Very disappointed with meal , fish not drained properly so oil pooling bottom of container making batter soggy. Peas were hard and unable to eat them, chips barely warm and needed reheating. My first time used Hillsborough Fish Bar and doubt will make a second visit.

My husband and daughter Called here on Saturday evening and always worried about trying chips from somewhere we've not been before as always been disappointed. The chips and sausages were lovely and my children were very happy, which is a god send. Next time we will try the burgers etc. The prices are good and affordable and the two staff were happy and helpful. Thank you ☺️

The staff in here are really friendly, the fish and chips are excellent and usually freshly cooked to order, and the meal deals are cracking value.

Purchased a cod and chips to take home. The fish hadn't been skinned properly and was so dry it was utterly inedible, goodness knows how long it had been left in the UHC. I can honestly say I won't ever eat at this place again.

Mixed experiences, it seems to depend which staff are on.
