Roast potatoes burnt black and limited vegetables as to other times ordered looked thrown together in the carton did not live up to expectations as have had this before and could not fault it

Good carvery, but make sure you put your car registration in the machine inside the pub.

Picked up some take away carvery dinners tonight and Faiz was an absolute diamond... Really helpful and made sure I had everything I needed... Will be returning as his customer service was outstanding! They even have an EV charger in the car park!!

We had a lovely experience at Hillfield Farm, made even better by Charlie, the young man who served us. He was polite, charming, and incredibly attentive—nothing was too much trouble for him. From start to finish, we felt truly well looked after. A real credit to the team!

Great food and service, Amber was lovely really friendly she even put our left over meat in box for my dog who was at Willow vets.

We came for a meal after collecting our son from school, we had a kids meal and 2 adult meals, the meals were lovely from jay and Shaun and bing our server was very welcoming and happy to help, she even told us that with I kids meal we could have an ice cream and we weren’t aware of that so that was greatly appreciated.

The waitress Bing was fantastic so polite nothing was too much trouble 👍

came here last saturday, me and my partner ordered the small carvery which was well priced. we were met with lovely smiley faces especially from kat and amber. they easily convinced us to grab a slice of their amazing selection of cakes. the carrot cake was unreal. the yorkshire puddings were the only real downside for me as they were very hard. if these could be worked on it would be 5 stars all round!!

April 28th for birthday meal, a lovely evening, service was excellent, manager Sarah had the table decorated, and Kat served with a smile, John was very helpful at the bar, and with David and Jay at the carvery, we were well looked after, thank you for the complimentary dessert for my brother's birthday, we will be looking forward to going again.

I came in on Saturday with my family, lovely carvery and the cakes were even better! Excellent service from Paris too she was absolutely lovely, 10/10 will definitely be back!!

You can't expect any service in a pub which is providing All You Can Eat. I met one or two waitresses here who were nice and provided service in the past few visits. Foods are not bad compared to other pubs/restaurants. I will come again if I feel super hungry. It's definitely not a good place if you want a service or a clean environment.

First visit. It's so much bigger thsn it looks from the outside. Friendly staff. Good prices. Carvery was lovely, veg a little on cool side, but I find this at all carveries.

Went for breakfast on the Saturday during Easter weekend with a few other families. Amber was fantastic with the kids and made a really fuss of them.

Food looked lovely but just had drinks. Excellent service from Bing. Would definitely recommend. Cakes looked superb.

This is my first time in this establishment and the service and carvery was exceptional. My waiter was bing and she was so polite and happy and very attentive thank you for a lovely experience and I will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful dining experience at this lovely restaurant near my home! A special thank you to the amazing waitress, Bing, who was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The star of the meal was definitely the delicious carvery — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Huge compliments to Chef David for preparing such a fantastic meal. Checked out this place. I'm glad I did. Victoria, the manager, is a lovely person. Very welcoming made me feel welcomed when I entered the pub. She and her partner are very professional, which I witnessed as customers entered the pub. I went for the buffet breakfast option. After eating my first dish. I was too full to go for seconds. They offer 15% discount for blue light card members. They are family friendly and have a great play area for children to explore and play in. Food - Good quality and good value for your money. Service - Very welcoming and professional. Atmosphere - Quiet due to being a morning time. Customers started to come as I was going. However, the place is very clean, welcoming, and cosy, and I will definitely would visit again. 100% recommend this place if you are visiting or nearby in the Shirley area.

Lovely Carvery cooked by Chef Fiaz Everything was fresh and tasty with plenty of choice of vegetables and potatoes and the meats weren't dry at all. Not too busy even though it is half term. All the staff were friendly, especially Bing, she was very helpful and her service with a smile went a long way! 😊

This was the first time I've visited this place, who wants to treat me and arrange for family to come, as i have a big in numbers birthday on Easter Sunday, from the moment we went through the door the atmosphere felt inviting, then were greeted by a delightful friendly waitress called Bing who couldn't have been more attentive, showed us to a table, then came with me to the bar to place our order, brought our coffees to the table kept a eye on us discreetly until she went off shift then came to say cheerio, the guy serving the food i think his name may have been David, he also was equally pleasant, so we decided to book a table for our group, Sarah the duty manager discussed it with us booked it in for us, with an approach that made us feel confident. The test will be on the evening, going 8 days after the day as thought it may be busy Easter Sunday and fancied a relatively quiet evening. Let's see if they can keep the old chap who has now reached the point where i can be a grumpy old man happy.

Me and my Wife had Breakfast here, the breakfast buffet was very affordable (hot drink included too), food tasted very nice, lovely chargrill taste on the Bacon, Chef David did a great job and, Leanne who served us was lovely, very friendly, approachable and helpful. Great atmosphere, definitely coming here again for breakfast ☺️👌

The service here is outstanding and the food is equally great. Cannot fault anything at all, the staff go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble. Thanks to the chefs David and Shaun food was the best we've had from a greeneking and special thanks to our server Bing she was lovely, so warm and chatty. Highly recommend this place, we will be back on our next visit to Solihull.

Wife and I both had the day off from work on a Monday morning.. Decided to try here for breakfast and we were not dissapointed.. Met at the entrance by the friendly Leanne who as it was our first time explained our options.. The breakfast buffet and unlimited hot drinks was a bargain.. Coffee was great and the food despite being a buffet format was served almost on demand with everything being freshly put out just to meet the required demand.. This was great as it prevented food from drying up.. The food was excellent quality including some fantastic Yorkshire puddings! This place also has some amazing cakes and ice cream if ypu have not filled up enough on breakfast.. Good choice will be back!

Visited Hillfield Farm for my dad's birthday, we were greeted and looked after by Bing who is a credit to Hillfield, she was bubbly, funny and ensured we had all we needed. I would recommend visiting, the carvery was great, fraz and shaun were the chefs that day. Bing also helped with selecting takeaway dessert, she was right the lemon and berry was lovely!

Great family pub with a dedicated kids area for under 5's. Plenty of choice on the menu with a really good kids menu. Bing was our server and was very friendly and attentive and the food cooked by chef Alex was delicious! We are regular visitors to Hillfield Farm and can't see that changing any time soon :)

Had a wonderful lunch today at Hillfield farm, the atmosphere and service were fantastic. We were greeted and shown to our table by Michael who also took our order at the bar, really friendly and helpful with everything. Our food was delicious and hot. It was served by Amber who had the biggest smile on her face and such a lovely and friendly personality! We had a lovely time and won’t hesitate to come back again. Thank you for a lovely visit!

Staff are friendly and reasonably efficient. Any concerns raised are dealt with in a reasonable amount of time. Don't believe the message above the bar which claims there's cask ale available - not only was there none available but there also weren't any hand pumps to dispense it even if they did have it. We tried a mix of ordering at the bar and ordering on the app, both worked well.

I've never really done a review before but the service we had the other night was amazing so here i am, we came in for some food last night, spoke to Amber who was very nice and greeted us at the bar, that kind of enthusiasm isn't seen too much these days, need more of that. My gf has quite a few allergies yet every question we asked was met with some good knowledge of the foods you do so that was such a breathe of fresh air for her. The food was absolutely banging and big shout out to Jay the chef in the back. And If you're having cake get the bumble berry it's fire, big thanks to amber was a good night, bless.

I met friends here for breakfast. We were greeted by Leanne, who explained the menu options to us and where to find the buffet breakfast. Her attitude and demeanour were excellent; helpful without being intrusive. The food was well cooked and presented and there was plenty choice available.

We came upon the Hillside Pub in Shirley, almost by accident. A “happy chance” indeed. We have at least one meal there per week…..mostly on and Monday lunch time The Greene King premises is always clean, with a welcome every time. Came to visit yesterday on my birthday and was utterly disappointed, I know it's pub food but my burger was burnt and so was the misses steak, order a children's dinner too which came out hotter then our food, the carveys looked good should have had one of them, unfortunately that's the first and last time we're visiting this place cost over 60 pound for food and I cook better at home.

Very nice steak done to perfection. Portion was great. Staff where very helpful. They have a play are for children and some machines like picker grab and childrens vending toys. Friendly bar staff. Their icecream is very nice top quality and they offer bluelight card discounts for emergency services and key workers

First time here and it was great I had a large turkey only carvery and it was amazing The Yorkshire pudding were the bet I have ever had so light and crunchy The chef Mo and my waitress Bing were really friendly and helpful.

Fabulous carvery, pleasant ambience snd friendly accommodating staff. They seat families with young children in a designated area - I wish everywhere did this, and their prices are very reasonable. They have a cake & ice cream counter which looks amazing, but I've always been too full to try any. Only minor gripes: draught beer selection could be better (too many lagers/ciders) and you have to remember to log your car reg into the system to avoid a ticket, which is not particularly well advertised. Other than that, all good and will happily return & recommend.

The meat was over cooked and the roasters and new potatoes were hard. Stuffing and gravy was all I enjoyed. I was a bit sad as it was a lot of money for two and only ate half of it.

Stumbled across Hillfield Farm on route. Carvery was faultless and delicious. Great little indoor play area for the under five’s with a selection of grab machines too. Service was really good. Shout out to Ross, nothing was too much trouble.

Used to great all day breakfast but last week it was brought cold this week the bread was not toasted very disappointed

Great place to eat on a Sunday that's always clean with nice staff. The food is well cooked meat and fresh. Beef Lasagne could have been more hot in the middle as it came out fast last weekend.
