I think this probably would've been very good, except I'll never know because we were never served after nearly half an hour...

I didn't buy any food. The visit to this pub was one of reminiscence. Been a very long time since being in the area. The owner was so friendly and spoke about the area and memories of time gone by and how the Hill is so different. My memory was of grassland up the slope and my children runn down it. The pub is exquisite. Log fire, clean, warm. I went up to check opening times as I had planned to visit next Wednesday. However, they are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sandwiches and cobs with a nice pint or glass of wine.

I had to resort to the pub while my family walked up the hill (due to a bad back not alcoholism!). I was made to feel so welcome, gave the barmaid advice on her next hair-do, had a long chat with a local business owner, and got to cuddle a gorgeous baby! Fantastic afternoon!

The pub seems clean and tidy but the staff are so hostile and miserable. The music isn’t appropriate and too loud. This all adds up to a lack of atmosphere. Being next to such a beauty spot should mean this pub is really busy but I think these negative things are bringing it down.

The website for this pub says it is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We went once before earlier this year on a Sunday when we sat outside with our dog and had very nice food. We were told we were also welcome to eat inside. The two ladies who we dealt with were very friendly. We put a positive review on their website. Went for another walk at Clent yesterday (Saturday) and headed here middle afternoon looking forward to a cool drink in a pleasant pub. Pub Door was closed. Large German Shepherd guard dog inside barking aggressively at our dog. Equally unfriendly man stood outside - the landlord? - told us they were not open and waved us away. Can't understand why a pub in such an ideal location for walkers would be so unwelcomimg and so rarely open. Really disappointed. Had seen a few bad reviews and wondered why after our positive first visit. Won't be going again, unless the ladies are on duty!

A wedding should be a happy occasion. But when the police have to be called. Because the bar staff are fighting. Not the best advert for the pub.

What a wasted opportunity being closed in the school holidays. Lots of thirsty walkers and pub is shut. Sell up to someone who actually wants to run a decent business.

Once a year I visit this pub after dropping my dad off at his annual dinner at Halesowen Rugby Club. I take a walk over Clent Hills then stop for a pint and food. Lovely decor and dog 🐶 friendly. Wish it was closer to home.

Don't bother going in here if you want to feel like a valued customer. And certainly don't bother going in here if you have kids (unless they sit perfectly still and don't move!)Visited here on a Saturday afternoon with friends - 4 adults and 4 kids, after a lovely walk around Clent Hills. The place was empty! On arrival the member of staff was not very welcoming and we felt we were a bit of an inconvenience. We tucked ourselves away in a corner and the kids sat watching the music channel that was playing. One of the kids went to move a stool to take to by the tv and were told not to. When the 2 youngest kids were stood up jigging to the music a member of staff came over and told us the kids needed to sit down as there were other people in the bar and there was an open fire. Firstly the kids were not near the open fire (which we had sat an adult next to just to keep watch) and secondly there were only 2 other people in the bar who actually appeared entertained by the dancing (probably more so than the music channel that was playing). I recognise that children should not run around or be noisy in pubs, but they were not doing either. In short, there are far nicer places to go nearby that are more welcoming and supportive of families. Given the place was empty, I would have thought they would have bee glad of the custom. Clearly they can afford to be selective and choosy over their customers. Save your money and take it to the other establishments.

Stopped here to grab a quick bite on our Clent walk. Food is lovely, service is good, they have water bowls for the dogs and you can take your dogs in to the pub. Staff could do with putting a little smile on the dial but otherwise not a bad little stop off

My family and I have been to this pub many times as it's on our Clent Hills walk route. I'm not too keen on this pub as they are so mardy about using their toilet. For example, once my mum got told the toilets were for customer use only, very loudly, which embarrassed her, whilst I was paying for our drinks at the bar. Today, we ordered two half ales and it wasn't particularly friendly service. Once we sat down, after we had a drink, I noticed my mum had a huge dead spider sitting at the bottom of her drink It wasn't a measly thing, it was big.I told the bartender about this, and granted, she apologised and asked if we wanted another half, but it wasn't a gushing apology, and she carried on her conversation with the person she was speaking to whilst serving me. Her apology was as though she missed my hand upon giving me change. I myself work in a pub and just expect better service. If you find a dead spider in someone's drink, apologise to the person who drank it, acknowledging that this is a mishap, make the customer smile, don't treat it as a slight error, offer them their money back - it was gross. This complaint is the result of cumulative poor service, and today spidey's visit topped it. Lastly, I think this was the manager who I was speaking with due to how she was the only person working not in uniform.

Stopped in for a sandwich after a walk round Clent Hills. Food was fine and location is ideal for stopping off after a long walk. Unfortunately service is poor. We placed two separate orders and sat outside. The first order came out but second one didn't. We went in to ask about it and the reply was "Oh! I forgot about that. Sorry!" While we sat there, others were receiving incorrect or incomplete orders.

Southbound, Evening stop, 2 hours free parking. Good coffee, paid for a medium, given a large one! Only take-away cups available, despite plenty of crockery - lack of staff to clear away & wash up? Historic British car-themed prints are worth a look (upstairs, opposite toilet entrance). Services are near the former Rover / British Leyland car plant in Longbridge.
