Higher Ground Cafe Bar in Dudley

Popped in as it opened for breakfast. Difficult to choose as everything sounded delicious. I went for the Turkish eggs in the end as I wanted to try something new. Friendly service as always and hardly any wait for our food to arrive. The Turkish eggs were so good, unlike anything I have tried before. I didn't have any of the extra toppings but will be back to try again with mushrooms. They also offer a loyalty scheme for hot drinks which helps to tempt me back regularly for their lovely cakes.

First visit today and very impressed. Great for breakfast/brunch and friendly, helpful staff. Sausage bap this time but will be back again very soon to sample more! Turkish eggs in particular sounded amazing

We hired out Higher Ground for my Mums 60th surprise party, and all I can say is WOW! The staff were so incredible from the initial booking all the way through to the party. Honestly they were faultless and made the night so fantastic! The venue itself is gorgeous, with such beautiful modern decor. Everyone commented on how lovely it was! The food was beyond amazing. We had 30 guests and ordered sandwich boards, cheese boards, and mezze boards, along with some bowls of chips. There aren’t even words for how delicious everything was. They even catered for gluten free and vegan! Again everyone commented on how fantastic it all was! I will absolutely book another party here in the future, it is by far the best place in Congleton! Thankyou Higher Ground for making the night so special!

Excellent breakfast and coffee this morning, we live on Moody Street so fantastic location for us. We would have given 5* for everything today but unfortunately the restaurant was really cold I ate my food in my coat I noticed a lot of other dinners were sitting with their coats on. I don’t think the plates were warmed so with it being so cold inside plus a cold plate the food went cold whilst we were eating it. That was the only thing letting this place down. Will return again soon and hope to find some heating on.

Didn’t want full on meal, that’s why we chose this venue as we knew it did small plates, as we were going to a concert that evening. What we had was exceptional really tasty and good value. Will definitely be back. I already love your brunch menu, but the small plates were amazing. Great service too.

We’ve visited lots for brunch and always had a great fresh breakfast, the best in the area by far. The coffee is also gorgeous! The menu changes frequently to keep things fresh. Caters well for vegetarians also. Will be back asap!

Absolutely gorgeous food had 7 small plates between 3 and they were really tasty and delicious. Also had brunch there a few days earlier and it was really good too. Highly recommend

The nicest halloumi fries ever! The test wasn’t bad either. Would definitely recommend. We had the early bird menu and cocktails. The Haru Gimlet is also worth trying!

A friend that booked the "Bottomless Brunch" forgot to notify that me and my partner are vegans. I must say, that the chef has done amazing job with our set meals especially when they were put on the spot without any notice. Food was lovely and Pornstar Martinis were amazing 👏🏻 .

I've been to Higher Ground more times than I can count, but it never ceases to impress. I generally go in for the breakfast - the menu is amazing, whether it's the Turkish Eggs, Mushrooms and Eggs, Avo on toast or the monster Full English (monster in the best way possible - it's huge and delicious). However, I've not been in for the dinner menu very much so I thought I'd try it - especially with a new menu launch. I absolutely loved it. We got the early bird menu, thai chicken cakes w/ asian slaw & sweet chilli dip & pave potato, artichoke & miso mayo. We also grabbed a couple small plates - prawn croquettes & chorizo & roasted pepper quesadilla. The staff are always attentive but not overwhelming, friendly and helpful. The coffee and food are top notch, cocktails are well made and varied, too. I couldn't recommend it enough. Unfortunately, no photos as I it's always in my mouth too quickly.

First time visit today with family. Not only was the service excellent, with cheerful, helpful staff, but the menu is a real treat. I had Turkish eggs with mushrooms and a flat white. The food was really beautifully presented and the flavours were delightfully balanced. The coffee was light and sweet, just as a flat white should be. Genuine delight and treat. Thank you !! 😊

A lively stop off point between activities on our holiday. We needed to kill some time on a rainy day, and decided to drop into Congleton for a quick snack and drink. It was Sunday so a lot of places were closed but higher ground was open and had a good vibe. It was nice busy but not empty or over crowded and we found a nice spot upstairs with our toddler and baby. A lovely range of freshly baked cakes which we we enjoyed with our hot drink. Staff very friendly!

Called in by chance for a drink while out with friends. This is a great little place and we were made very welcome by the owner. There was a very good selection of drinks on offer. Would definitely recommend calling in here whether it’s just for a drink or for food. Will visit again next time we go Congketon.

I visited with my sister, daughter and my baby grandson. We sat upstairs on the comfortable sofas. My sister and I arrived first and had a drink each. My daughter came shortly afterwards with her 2 mth old son. We decided on which food and drink to have and I placed the order. My grandson was looking for his milk and my daughter started feeding him as our food arrived. Typical baby! We asked if they could keep her poached eggs on toast warm whilst she was feeding him. They were very accommodating and too hers away until she had fed him. He fed for a good 20 mins and then I went to ask for her food. The waitress said that they will do fresh for her and bring it up. We didn’t expect them to do this at all and thought it was so kind and thoughtful. It’s always difficult with a new baby and how to handle things when they want feeding and you are out to eat. Emily never likes to ask for things and would have just eaten her meal cold. My sister suggested they could keep it warm maybe? The staff are very efficient, kind and friendly. None of us had any change for a tip and we felt really bad. I am going to go again and make up for the lack of tip this time. What a wonderful morning we had and my daughter felt so relaxed and at ease in there feeding her son. Thank you all so much for being just wonderful. It made our day!!! We need more places like this 💙
