Hetty's Kitchen in Gloucester

Great brownies and they're made in Gloucestershire so even better! My personal favourites are cookie dough, and salted caramel :)

There are so many nice places to choose from in Gloucester Quays but this is by far my favourite for brunch/lunch. Food and coffee is always 10/10 the staff are so lovely and always make so much effort and cater to your needs, cafe it’s self is always clean and lovely views of the quays. I had almond brioche French toast with peach was so lush Iv been back twice to have it again xxxx and obviously took a brownie home 😬

Visited the new cafe at Gloucester Food dock. It was lush, a cosy gaven from the rain. Really lovely friendly service and an epic brunch. The menu was ace - I am goingvto gage to go back to try it all!

If you like friendly service and good coffee, I'd recommend you avoid this place. We should have known that a place that doesn't respond to messages saying that their social media is all over the place giving very different information about something so basic as opening times, would not be good, but the photos looked so appetising. The first time we tried to visit, they were closed without any sign of that on anything online. We got there today to find out they don't have a chef at the moment, so if you were wanting something from the extensive menu published online, you could well be disappointed. Again, they clearly don't think that is something they need to write large online. When we ordered, we were proudly told that they couldn't heat milk to the right temperature because, "We are not like Starbucks or Costa. We don't use a milk thermometer". Using a milk thermometer is just about the one thing that those places do right! It turned out they had a thermometer but refused to use it because it "wasn't calibrated". We ended up leaving and getting our money back. Next time, we will go straight to Bake & Brew.

We usually get Hetty’s delivered for special occasions but try to get over to Gloucester for the in person experience when we can! Staff are always helpful and friendly, and I love that everything on the savoury menu is cooked from scratch so always fresh and hot. I also love that Hetty’s supports local food producers using high quality ingredients and cares about their environmental and social impact too.

Always a fab experience at Hetty’s from the delicious brownies to the brilliant brunch menu. The service is always tiptop too.

My mum and I love visiting Hetty’s for brunch, brownies and a hot chocolate. I also always bring my in-laws to Hetty’s when they come and visit because they love it so much! The brownies are, as expected, bloody delicious, and the brunch is excellent. The whole team are always so friendly and accommodating. Love it!

Simply the best! Staff are always so great and the quality of food and coffee is just amazing ! The brownies are the best we have tried and I send them to all family at any given time. Don't hesitate to go, but be warned - we are utterly addicted to everything :) xx

Hetty’s is a fantastic place to go and the staff are so friendly, warm and accommodating. My only complaint is that they’re not in Cheltenham ;) 😘 I am an avid brownie fan and when I ventured in with my friend and our children we immediately fell in love with the decor, the good vibes and the incredible food. Would visit every week if it was closer. Go, try a brownie, you’ll not regret it!

It’s so annoying as an OG vegetarian when places bunch up their meat free options to all vegan- but this place is THEEEE BEST! Super clear on allergens and requirements, the staff are really calm and clear communicators and the whole venue just felt so warm and accommodating! Big plans to visit again and frankly, frequently! Think brownies; think Hetty’s. How anyone ever leaves this place with just one brownie is beyond me. But there’s much more than just delicious, squidgy, sweet treats going on here - there is an epic, ever-evolving brunch menu, the most almighty hot drinks list (errr, hello toasted marshmallow fluff on top of my hot chocolate!!) and a busy, bustling online-ordering business happening right behind the doors. Inspiration everywhere I’d say. The small team are attentive and friendly, the decor is 👌🏻 AND it’s female-founded. I’m already looking forward to my next visit 😋

We’ve visited a number of times, both at the cafe and the hatch as was. The staff are lovely and cannot do enough for you. The coffee is great, plenty of milk alternatives and different specials throughout the year. The brunch options are delicious, cooked to order with something for everyone. We often bring friends and family to eat at Hettys when they stay and have also sent brownies as gifts. The brownies are the cherry on an already beautiful cake! Beautiful and quirky cafe ran by the most welcoming staff. Food is amazing and changes with the seasons so you always get new options which is exciting. Brownies are like nothing else you will ever try! Super gooey and so many flavour options. Also really love the spin on a classic hot choc with cream the cream is marshmallow 🤤 a must visit in Gloucester ❤️

I have visited the cafe multiple times with friends and with my young family. I love Hetty’s for my lunch-break flat white and go out of my way as it’s the best I’ve found in Gloucester. The brownie selection is irresistible, too! I love the fact they have different flavour themes each month so there’s always something new to try, or you can rely on one of the classics which never fail to be the perfect brownie texture and taste 😋

Hettys are incredible! 😍😍😍 After being a local in lockdown and eating far too many Hettys brownies, we recently ordered a huge amount to serve as deserts at our wedding and omg I’m so glad we did! We had great communication with the team and everything arrived (to North Yorkshire!) perfectly! The brownies were delicious as always and we converted A LOT of our guests to Hettys!! We had to track down and hide one to take home as they were going like hotcakes! Very glad we used Hettys and will continue to order them forever! Thank you!!

Absolutely love Hettys, whether you want a takeaway coffee and Brownie or a sit in Brunch - Hetty is your place to try! They make the most incredible brownies and the flavours are so different to other places. You can tell Hetty really takes pride in her monthly flavours and you can even order online and get them posted! Staff are super friendly and helpful too.

Looks nice, brought some brownies for me and colleges. They enjoyed theirs but unfortunately found a hair in mine so kinda killed the vibe.

INCREDIBLE! We definitely ordered too much, but couldn’t decide on one or two things because it all looked amazing. We took some brownies away too, and we agree they’re the best brownies we’ve ever had. The custard cream blondie is *chefs kiss*!

I'm not ashamed to say I've eaten a fair few brownies from a fair few places in my time, but none of them have come close to the gooey scrumptiousness of Hetty's brownies. These are slices of pure, unadulterated pleasure. All the flavours I've tried have been so good, and my Christmas chocolate orange was one of my top pressies. The generously proportioned brownies (enough for two people if you're feeling virtuous, or one person who wants a serious indulgence) are consistently fantastic. This is brownie-making at its best 🤤

Had a really lovely lunch here, it’s a great place to meet up with friends. The food is delicious and also utilises other local products. I highly recommend the sweet corn fritters and can’t wait to go back and try the rhubarb and custard French toast. I’ve been buying the brownies for a few years now, I love that there is a different selection every month. I’ll never get bored of visiting.

We have Been buying hettys ever since she baked from her flat. Her brownies regularly find there way down to bognor regis to keep a hettys fan in brownies .

Such a lovely cafe, the food is fantastic. Came for the brownies but the savoury food was outstanding. Looking forward to returning soon.

Called in to this quirky cafe a couple of days ago. Hollie couldn't have been more helpful (one of our party has special dietary requirements) and the brunch was superb. We also bought some brownies (4 for £12) and have since demolished them! Absolutely fantastic. A big thank you to the team - but particularly Hollie who was brilliant. Thoroughly recommended.

Hetty's Kitchen is a hidden gem! Although a little expensive, which I expect from a small independent business, the staff were polite and friendly, the food and coffee was delicious and the brownies are to die for. The toasties were hot, tasty, and served with delicious sauces. The coffee had a great taste, and the mocha cookie dough brownie I had had a delicious strong and punchy coffee flavour.

Went here for the first time today and I will say if you didn't know where this place was it wouldn't be the easiest to find. Had two breakfast toasties and one BBQ shoom toastie as well as three lattes. Though a little pricey it was definitely worth it. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed every bite. We even picked up some of their yummy brownies to take home for desert and boy were they yummy.

We visited Hetty's kitchen this morning with lots of mammas and babies. There was lots of space for 8 buggies,not all other guests were happy about our descent however the staff were lovely and more than welcoming.The brownies were so delicious that I ended up buying 4 more to take home. Some others ordered food which took a little while to come however you could tell (and smell) that it was lovely and freshly cooked,the wait didn't matter. The bathroom was very large with a baby changing area and other essentials,it was large enough to take a pushchair in which was handy. The only suggestion I would have is to maybe have a different lock on the bathroom door,even though I turned the current lock,I was able to pull open the door. Maybe a bolt type would be better 😘 I took a loyalty card as we'll definitely go back.

Delightful staff, yummy breakfast and sensational brownies. Stopped here on a whim on our bikes having had their brownies elsewhere and honestly they couldn't have been more friendly, even offering to make space for the bicycle inside. Highly recommend, we will be back!

What a gem! Tucked away in the matchstick factory this hidden gem should not be missed. Gorgeous food, have tried the eton mess French toast, the breakfast toastie, the cheese and mushroom toasty and I can’t decide which is my fav! Great oat milk cappucino and loved the iced tea too. Good luck choosing just one brownie flavour as they are all lush. Reasonable prices for the quality of food. The dining space was full with several large tables and we were served promptly, food was hot and served with a smile. Can’t wait to come back

These brownies should not be legal!

So disappointed. We were looking for interesting places to visit while in the area and came across this. However, we were disappointed, big time. We arrived with no idea if it was table service or not. No menus on table. So, we queued, got no acknowledgement or 'sorry for the wait', we grabbed a menu, saw basically 1 gluten free option and ordered x 2. I asked for 1 egg cooked well and the other just regular, plus an order of 'churros'. (side note, I had planned to order one of their brownies but found when I looked in the cabinet, there was a fly on the one I wanted! 🤮). Closeable cabinet definitely necessary!! Well omg. The wait. (the place only has 3 tables and a bench). We waited around 25-30mins, maybe longer, for a very simple order. And myself & my kids were honestly fed up waiting. The fritters arrived, small portion and the 2nd egg was raw. The egg white was clear and gelatinous. I was nearly sick looking at it. After the wait, I didn't have the heart to return the meal so we ate around it and left. I give it 2 stars as the lady cooking was pleasant. The lady serving needs some hospitality training though. No 'I'll be with your shortly' or equivalent acknowledgement! And the decor is lovely.

Nom nom nom..... My 'All Good in the Pud’ brownie box arrived today and I have nearly demolished the whole box! The Apple Crumble and Custard Blondie is INCREDIBLE! Where do I start... Incredible brownies that really are out of this world. If you get yours from anywhere else, stop and ask yourself what are you doing. Hetty's kitchen is the place to go... Can even get then at both North and South bound M5 services at Gloucester and its worth every last tuppence!

Once again amazing brownies with excellent customer service! I got in touch to have half of my order sent to family as we could no longer be together at Christmas. Not only did Hetty accommodate this request, but my parents received the brownies within two days at no extra charge to us. A fantastic local business worth shouting about!

Fabulous brownies, with new flavours appearing each month. Discovered them in lockdown whilst I was shielding, as the postal service brings wonderful brownies straight to your door, and kept on ordering to bring a smile to my face. Can be sent as a gift too, to cheer up someone else's day. Give them a try, you won't regret it.

As always, Hetty's served up the best brownies this weekend! Cute little hatch on an industrial estate, with really friendly staff, that does great coffee and fantastic brownies to takeaway. They do 4 for £10 too so if you're like us and can't decide which to go for, you can just buy them all. They do delivery of their brownie boxes too, which was a saviour during lockdown!

This is the place to go to get the amazing Hetty's brownies fresh from the source! Just park up, ring the bell, place your order and pay. Then all you have to do is resist the temptation to eat them in the car before you get home!

Along with The Salt Bakehouse and Hobbs bakery, these brownies saved my life during lockdown! All of the brownies are absolute heaven, but I would especially recommend the salted caramel. I'm not a fan of blondies in general but my boyfriend loves the ones made by Hetty's Kitchen. They do seem expensive but when you break it down it's £2.80 for a brownie and you'd pay that at a cafe if not more. It's definitely worth it if you can afford it!

I have recently returned from a wedding in France, where Hetty baked and supplied the puddings for around 150 people. They were superb, her chocolate brownies were delicious. Well done guys - spot on!

What can I say. Best bakes I’ve ever tasted. Love the fact everything is sourced locally too. We have lived abroad for a year now and when my husband recently went to the uk, he made a deliberate effort to go to buy 2 of Hettys brownies, and brought them back for me. Turkish delight brownie and Salted caramel brownie. Wow. Can’t recommend any higher!

Fantastic range of products. The brownies are out of this world, and the level of creativity is refreshingly diverse. There really are no other brownies as nice, and everytime I eat a non-Hetty's kitchen brownie, I just feel I'm wasting calories! The cake hatch shop front brings a bright and warm feel to the Moorlands trading estate too. Never dissapointed when eating here

Hetty’s brownies are amazingly well made and taste delicious. We ordered a batch for a staff training day and they are such generous helpings we all had some left to take home! I love her ethics of supporting local farmers and businesses, and highly recommend these incredible cakes! The salted caramel is out of this world.
