We have been here before and enjoyed it so we tried it again. Previously we have had the full English breakfast but decided to be a bit more adventurous. She had quiche, salad and chips while I had mushroom omelette, coleslaw, salad and chips all very good. It’s worth mentioning that this place serves homemade food including all the bread, teacakes, cakes, scones etc.

Having dined here recently we had brunch, this time, with friends in this delightful cafe and they enjoyed it as much as we have previously and this time. The full English breakfasts are excellent quality, quantity and value for money. My wife enjoyed the crushed avocado on toast and our friends had the granola and fruits and French toast respectively and all of us were fully satiated. I cannot recommend this place highly enough with great food and drinks at reasonable prices with genuinely helpful and attentive staff so I'm glad we booked a table in advance. By the way it's dog friendly as an added bonus.

Normally I check reviews before we eat somewhere but we stumbled across this little place and thought why not? It looked so nice and it didn't disappoint. It was Friday so I had the small fish and chip special. It is small but it's plenty for lunch and good value for money and what's more, it was so delicious. Perfect fish with the crispiest batter, mushy peas and the chips were the best I've had anywhere. Husband had a veggie burger which he enjoyed. He said the coffee was good too. And the cakes were fabulous. Made on the premises! Lovely staff too. We come to Hessle every three months so we'll definitely be making a repeat visit.

Repeat visit, I gave this little place a 5 star review on my previous visit and, if anything, it was better this time than last time. The coffee was excellent and the full English breakfast was outstanding. Great value, no shortage of smiles and not too much pepper (regarding a previous sneery review) I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Hessle, it's a genuine hidden gem.

A little gem of a cafe with homemade food made with love. Always friendly service & the best chicken burger I've ever had served with homemade chips, coleslaw & side salad. Good varied menu choices & all worth every penny.

Service was impeccable, food was superb. Found this little diamond by accident, but it won't be the last time we visit. Highly recommended.

Not the sort of person that writes reviews about places I have visited but this place is a little gem in the centre of Hessle. Visited today with the family and it was brilliant. Great staff, great food, great price. I had an All Day Breakfast to die for, just superb. Definitely a place I will be making an effort to go to the next time I am in town.

The food here is homemade with love. I had a chicken burger which was the best chicken burger I've ever had. It wasn't processed chicken but chicken breast cut up & mixed with herbs, so tasty. The bread bun it was in was homemade & same with a side of coleslaw. It came with fresh cooked chips & side salad. My hubby had fish with beautiful crispy batter & chips. It is refreshing to find a place with fresh home cooked food cooked from scratch. I highly recommend this place & I will be going back again very soon.

We went for breakfast today. We both had the full English, small for the lady and large for the greedy one and both of our plates were empty when we finished. I enquired where they got their sausages and bacon from and they come from a traditional butcher just up the street. They were remarkably good, as was the black pudding. The bread was excellent too and it is home made by the proprietor, whose wife bakes the scones and cakes (which looked very good, although we were too stuffed to try them). Our capuccinos were also excellent. All in all, with top ingredients, beatifully cooked and perfectly seasoned, it could only be a five!

My partner and I wanted something light to eat on a Saturday afternoon and I’d seen Hessle Kitchen the week before when I’d been in town, thought after looking online at their menu that we’d give it a try! It was all COVID secure, the staff were fab and friendly and the menu had so much choice. I settled on a toastie and homemade chips whilst my partner had a chicken burger - both really tasty, both came with lovely side of salad too. Couldn’t fault anything at all, really sweet. cosy and hidden away, but it’s worth the find! Will definitely be coming again for a pudding next time, the waffle and crepes looked amazing! 🙂

We were looking for somewhere dog friendly for lunch after our visit to Wandahome in South Cave. The owners were really welcoming and it was nice and cosy inside on a cold day with the fires lit. As it was a Sunday we opted for the Sunday Roast. It was a tough choice though because the menu is fantastic! The drinks menu is equally as good as the food menu too. The food came out in good time and was one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time! We managed to squeeze in some deserts and can definitely recommend the chocolate brownie and the sticky toffee pudding. Service was excellent and our pup got lots of fuss too. If you’re in the area and are looking for great food and drink in a lovely atmosphere, then this is your place! You won’t be disappointed.

We stumbled across this little gem on a Saturday late afternoon. Fabulous pint of Marmalade Porter followed by a gastronomic extravaganza of small plates…..all amazing! So good we cancelled Sunday lunch plans and are returning today! We have eaten at Michelin starred places on many occasion and this food is right up there but in a relaxed environment and very reasonable. We have found our new fave place for our visits to the east coast and will struggle to go anywhere else now. Would highly recommend 🙏
