severely disappointed. been to henry’s before and loved it so i booked it for my mums birthday to turn up and it not be open. after planning her whole birthday for the first thing to be ruined was disappointing. why accept bookings if you’re not open???? ridiculous

The most important thing for a successful business must be consistency. We do like Henry’s and we try to come as often as we can with friends or just the two of us mainly for breakfast or for cocktails. They have best cappuccinos and fantastic cocktails. But today we realized that this is only when the owner is on site. Today we went for breakfast and we have been told on arrival at 11:30 that they ran out of eggs. Not sure why they just send someone to buy some eggs from m&s or tescos just to cover the breakfast service. Cause we do like this place and their coffees we stayed we found 2 items without eggs and ordered. What a mistake that was. The cappuccinos were lattes almost no foam. The sourdough avocado was not sourdough and whatever it was they toasted till it is not edible anymore we could not cut it with a steak knife. It was overly soaked with balsamic and covered with chewy sundried tomatoes. The new york style! bagel which supposed to be toasted was not toasted at all. Both plates look liked a child prepared them. Those plates can not be prepared by a professional chef. This was heartbreaking to experience this at Henry’s. The owner should shut the place when he is not available at least he will not loose his regular customers forever.

I was in Chepstow for a short break, I visited here for both evening cocktails and the morning breakfast/coffee. The drinks on the evening were excellent with a busy, civilised atmosphere. The sofas are very comfortable. The morning breakfast was absolutely fantastic, the pancakes came out fast and were delicious.

Cyclists avoid. Booked a table here for a birthday lunch with the family. We cycled there only to be greeted with their 'no sports clothes' door policy (not stated on their web site), and were made to sit outside on the pavement like a bunch of lepers. Wasn't so bad in the end, as inside was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. The food was eatable. This place seems to think it's in Mayfair rather than Chepstow High St. They should be more gracious towards their customers however they are dressed.

Fantastic spot for brunch in Chepstow. Small but perfectly selected options for food and a wide selection of drinks. Sat outside in the sunshine and I could have been in Barcelona! Give this place a try if you haven't. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the cocktails!

Mike & his team always deliver a great personal service! Noah in particular makes a mean Gin Bramble. Always a warm welcome, great atmosphere!! Highly recommend!!

Went on Saturday, We didn't have a reservation. We asked if they had a table for 4 people for an hour for drinks. They were able to seat us however the owner was very rude and made us feel like we were not welcome. As we walked in he said that we should have booked and made it out like he was doing us a favor. If they couldn't seat us it wouldn't have been a problem. The young person serving was great, and the owner could take some customer service lessons from his staff

I had never been made to feel so inferior got asked to stand outside so that my outfit could be checked on one visit, I was wearing ripped jeans. On another occasion got turned away at 7, told to come back at 9 came back and was told it was closing, disappointed as I had money to spend and time…… in the words of pretty women…. Big mistake. Won’t go back as I get better service elsewhere.

Henry’s used to be fab, not sure what changed but it’s been awful on our last 2 visits. Last time the service was so slow. The waiter was sat talking with customers he knew so we went at least 25 minutes without drinks as he wasn’t checking on other customers. Thought we would just let it slide as we’ve had some great times there before. Last night 3 of us tried to get a table early evening, looked like there were tables free but we got turned away and was told to come back at 9pm because they were so busy and they should have a table then. 8:45pm we returned and got turned away because they were closing because it had been so quiet ‘all evening’. The place is advertised to be open till 11pm. Surely if they were quiet they’d be happy with people coming in. Probably won’t be returning again which is a shame as it was a lovely place to begin with.

Friendly service and good food. We had a salad and a bagel - both were excellent. I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch (I've not been for dinner yet).

Came for drinks with some friends. The waiter was really rude and arrogant. He took the order wrong then said potentially we would be charged for that cocktail 🤔. One girl asked if it would be wasted as she would just have it and he said he would just serve it to someone else. The cocktails did look great and others said they were tasty. I ordered a mocktail. I asked what mocktails they had (no mocktails on the menu) and was given one option. When it arrived it was like drinking pure lemon juice. Absolutely disgusting 🤢. I told the waiter as such and he offered to make it sweeter, I declined. It wasn’t presented nicely like the alcoholic versions. So if you don’t drink alcohol you’re not catered for in this place, just because I don’t drink alcohol doesn’t mean I don’t like a nice drink like everyone else! The place itself was lovely inside and clean.

Been to Henry's a few times for cocktails and for brunch. The service is brilliant every time. In the evening there seem to be the same two men there a lot - I assume they're the owners - and you couldn't fault them. They're friendly, fast and the last few times I went they remembered our drinks order so when we wanted to order the same again, it was very easy. It's a lovely atmosphere and very different from the other bars in Chepstow - it's lovely to have a change.

Loved Henry's, fab cocktails, amazing atmosphere and just a generally nice place to chill out.

Brunch with 2 friends, great food, including gluten free options, friendly, polite and professional service. Nice, clean toilets. Have been a few times before, will be back again.

Came here for lunch on a rainy Saturday with friends and had a really enjoyable experience. Good food at a really reasonable price for portions, delicious blackberry cocktail, friendly helpful staff and a warm ambiance. Enjoyed our time and our friends want to come back here the next time they are visiting. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Amazing customer service from this place. Consistent quality of food and drinks. Toilets could do with a dust - otherwise a very clean place!

40 mins for 2 x desserts. 30 mins for main and if you order online the waitresses don't bring you condiments and the cutlery is virtually thrown at you. Used to be great to eat here but at least 3 tables ariund me were complaining about the food which is sad.

Nice little cocktail bar. Fills up quickly on the weekends so I suggest booking a table if you go. Did not try the food. Atmosphere is OK, no entertainment, just light music in the background. Service was good. However, it's a little off-putting that the tables can only be booked for 90 min, so I'm not sure we'll be back on a weekend.

Had the most amazing brunch and reasonably priced considering portion size and quality of food. The waiter was brilliant - can’t wait to come back.

Unfortunately tonight we had an awful experience, the four of us (2 couples) arrived at Henry’s for food and drinks. There were multiple tables free that were two seater, they easily could have been pushed to a four seater. Initially the guys went in and asked for a table they were rejected and told that they had no available reservations for the rest of the night. As we had had such a lovely experience with the day staff around Xmas when we went for breakfast I went in and asked if there would be any availability later on if we were to return. I was then rudely informed that the reason we had been originally turned away is because one of the group had ‘a rugby t-shirt on and a bright white pair of pumps’ and ‘this was against there dress code after 6pm’. Firstly I appreciate there being a dress code, however when we initially asked for a table we were told that there was no space, this was a lie! the real reason was in fact the guy was judged on the way he was dressed. Secondly the ‘rugby top, was actually a £300 designer t-shirt and the pumps were also designer (not that this should decipher whether or not an individual should be aloud to enter a local bar). The two ladies arrived in heels and were dressed formally. As a group we were all very upset, clearly this business does not need the clientele and has the ability to pick and choose it’s custom. Unfortunately due to this despicable experience we will not be returning or recommending to anyone in the community.

Delightful setting and the best hot chocolate in Chepstow

Had a great chilled start to the evening here. Great service and atmosphere.

Met a friend for drinks on one of the coldest evenings so far this year and it was absolutely freezing in Henry's unfortunately. Two tables were overheard asking for the heating to be turned on but they were refused?? I thankfully prepared but plenty of young ladies were not so well dressed! The young barman was doing his best but if you want to provide table service then you need more staff on a busy evening. There are so few places to go would rather support a local venue than a chain, somewhere where you can actually talk to eachother without shouting! Please think about the temperature in the venue if you want people to stop for longer than 1 drink. Otherwise, great cocktails and will be back but will wrap up warmer next time!

My wife and I come here on a regular basis for breakfast. We just can't stay away from here! The food is incredible and the service from the staff is fantastic. The price for the food is very reasonable for what you get. I would try to pick out my favourite food but it's too hard of a decision!

Great little speakeasy vibe to this place. Cocktails pack a punch. Definitely worth grabbing a pre or post dinner cocktail from this place.

Not a good experience. A case of disappearing staff once our coffee arrived and had to find our own sugar and spoons.

We arrived at around 9.15 am the lights were on. The music was playing. The t.v was on and it looked clean and tidy. I'm disabled and my friends had to get my walker out of the car and it took me some time to walk in. We took a seat and waited to be served. 15 minutes later the owner walked in and asked how we got in ! Well the door was open. He said they don't open until 10am although on checking there was no sign on the door or around saying this. He just told us to leave and carried on cleaning. I feel rather than make us feel like we had done something wrong he should have said you'll have to wait 20 mins for food but can I get you 3 ladies a coffee ? Just lost 3 good customers through your rudeness. Definitely wouldn't recommend if you expect to be treated with respect.

Not the best experience. The server or manager didn't even ask for id just said we can't serve under 18s I'm well over 18. The situation could have been handled better The food was average. Pancakes tasted store bought and the latte was underwhelming

This fussy one had a fabulous find today with HENRY'S! Delicious bagel and top notch coffee. Love the clear, but extensive, menus. Certainly will be back next time in Chepstow

What a fabulous find, on one of the hottest days, possibly the only place in Chepstow with air conditioning. Not only that, a friendly welcome from the owner, the most delicious bagels loaded with fillings, a great beer, wine and gin selection. We will definitely be back!

Excellent service. Excellent presentation. Unfortunately completely average breakfast food. We wanted to love it but unfortunately would not go back (at least for breakfast). We were surprised as it seems many recommend it. We might try again for cocktails sometime.

Lovely place not as loud or busy as the other cofee shops usually , staff helpful and pleasant , could do with bringing there cups up to the size of other cofee shops very small in comparison thats my only complaint not value for money ,puts me off visiting as much as others in the area 😕

Have visited on a few occasions over the last year. Pricing is a little steeper than most other places in Chepstow. Drinks are fine. Small place, but kept clean and modern! Once or twice I have found service to be a little slow, or perhaps not been noticed!

An atmospheric and intimate venue. Ideally you'll need to book. Tasty cocktails and friendly staff , looking forward to coming again

Great venue in the town. Class for everyone. Cocktails, coffee, snacks, breakfasts. All a high standard and reasonable price.

I always enjoy the calming atmosphere of this place. I thought I was pushing it abit taking my 1 year old grand daughter there with me. Yet I'm delighted to say it was still a calm and peaceful time.

First time visited. Took a while for staff to notice that we were sat outside. Had to go and raise service. Coffee lovely... but nothing special. However... What shocked me was the state of the men's toilets!! Looked like they hadn't been cleaned for days. Really let it down. Go and look at toilets in weatherspoons if you need a standard set.

Fantastic food, we enjoyed the nicest bagals ever plus some excellent pastries, a lovely place to chill on your own or with friends, great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, great service. Highly recommend you visit when in Chepstow. You won't be dissapointed. We will be coming back.

A friend and I thought that it might be nice to pop into Henry's on a Friday night for a quite drink. It was very quite 1or 2 couples however as we approached the door we were rudely judged by one gentlemen blocking the door and the other sitting smoking a cigarette. We were refused entry based on what we were wearing however they were happy more than happy for us to sit outside which is ridiculous! We of course moved on quickly to a more welcoming bar. I have lived in Chepstow my whole life and have never been refused entry to a cafe or bar. I was generally shocked that these 2 individuals think they are in ibiza not Chepstow. Happy to take the service elsewhere and we or any of my family will definitely not be ordering cocktails for pick up in the future or coming to Henry's.

What a lovely find! Popped in for breakfast today, it is kept well cleaned and socially distanced with a really friendly welcome and service. The food is absolutely lush and so nicely presented, for really reasonable prices. A well thought out, laid back atmosphere. Would highly recommend a visit for breakfast!

I had a great time having early evening cocktails. The drinks are well made and the staff were attentive and friendly. The music was a bit loud for early evening but I can imagine, later in the evening, it would be appropriate. I would definitely recommend if you are wanting a few cocktails.

Nice atmosphere, tasty bagels, reasonably priced menu and friendly staff. I highly recommend this new establishment, especially when you're looking for respite during these interesting times.

Only serve baguettes till 3pm but doesn't say that on the sign outside. Therefore, you dont know that until you are seated. When i said there was nothing i wanted then he snatched up the menus and basically escorted us out the door. Incredibly misleading and rude. Wouldnt waste my time there again.

Such a wonderful time had here with my daughter. Service amazing, corona competent,WONDERFUL coffee and the chocolate orange brownie was simply the best iv tasted!

Wow how swanky is this new bar in chepstow. Great coffee, friendly staff gorgeous food. Highly recommend for coffee or cocktails. Will definitely be going again.
