Henry's in Belfast

First time visiting Henry's and it seems like the place that would be very touristy but it also felt really welcoming. The service was excellent and I thought the prices very decent. I am vegan and their vegan burger was something I'd never seen before (a vegan black pudding) so thought I'd give it a try. It was a bit dry (to be expected perhaps) but very tasty. I also had a glass of wine which I thought was reasonably priced for a city centre pub. I'd love to come back.

Had lunch with friends whilst visiting the city, tucked away down an alley and very cool and atmospheric inside - although lots of whiskey and cocktails to choose from we stayed on Guinness. Worth a visit

A pleasantly shadowy bar - no harsh lighting, with plenty of places to sit and a good row at the bar. Extensive selection of "on tap" beers and every conceivable spirit. Good service.

Fish and chips - amazing! Burger - typical for UK and beer - great ! Waiters slow and lost. In one and a half hour - 3 different waiters were serving us and at the end they had to gather who served what and when and god knows the made a mistake in calculations. Insane. And it was not even crowded and lady’s toilet - no totaler paper and no soap and someone’s cocktail glass was there.

Didn't try any food, but our time spent at Henry's was relaxed and enjoyable, and staff were exceptional

I came here and immediately felt very comfortable. I think I will come back here one day and enjoy the good beer again.

We went to Henry's for my sisters 30th birthday and the food was delicious and the staff were lovely and very accommodating when I asked to bring balloons and cake, I will definitely be back. I had the roast beef dinner and it was delicious.

This place was fantastic. The food was great, but the service and atmosphere matched it. I had kids with me and the menu was perfect (and not pedantic which many places can be). Highly recommended. Loud, but in a good way.

I love the music in Henry's but for some reason it doesn't pull in a crowd. Always pretty empty

Came at 6pm for dinner. Sat down for 15 minutes, not one person asked me if I wanted a drink, food, or anything at all. I then sat at the bar and continued to be ignored for another 10 minutes. Oh and it looked like there was 6-7 staff people just standing around chatting to each other. Thanks for nothing!

Nice pub located in one of the various entries in the center of Belfast. Good food, fast service and average prices.

If you come for a happy hour, go your way. Very good cocktail but when you see the result as the quantity of it in the glass; no more cocktail ice. Nice setting.

Ordered chicken wings for my son at cost 18 pound . .He said to me they were dry. I tried them . We're dry as a bone. We're overcooked by at least a hour. Couldn't swallow had to spit them out. For 18 quid a bowl of chicken wings . You need to sort that price out and sort the cooking out.

Absolutely loved this place after finding it on our first trip to Belfast. You can feel the history inside this old jailhouse! Great friendly staff, a wide selection of drinks and a 2 for 1 cocktail special during happy hour. What’s not to love?

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere

I don't have the opportunity to get into Belfast city centre now but have been a customer for nearly 50 years then known as The Globe Tavern owned by Peter McKenna I visited on 20th August instead of my usual order of seafood chowder which I have always been very pleased with I ordered the Haddock with Chunky chips as it always looked good when it was served to other patrons What I was served was overcooked fish on top of poor small chips. When the waitress asked if I enjoyed my meal Igive her my opinion shortly after the barman brought me the bill I wasn't asked if I required another drink just a very impolite invitation to leave The barman was surprised ??? when I didn't leave a Tip which always do

My Birthday lunch was completely ruined by the duty manager who had a personal issue with one of my guests. We were refused service, after already having eaten before my guest arrived and was handed my bill!! I really have no words. I have no idea what the issue was but it should not have been done in the middle of the bar in front of other customers or taken out on myself and other guests!! It was a complete disgrace by this manager and another member of staff who was involved. No regard was given to myself or other guests at the table. I have always loved coming to this bar but I won't be back and certainly won't be recommending it to anyone. I still can't believe what a disaster my day ended up being!!

I was in Henry's yesterday when a fight broke out between 2 males it was very nerve racking as we were stuck in a corner with chairs flying. When staff intervened they were only young fellas. No 1 came near us to see if we were ok. I eventually called 1 of the staff over he was lovely and offered me a shot as he saw how upset I was [which I declined]. I ask why they no security he told me none came on until 7pm No 1 seemed to be in charge as all the staff present are very young to me this is not good. KFC had security outside it earlier when I walk by but a bar was left unattended not good.

Characteristic place. To go there.

We called in on a whim, no booking. The lovely waitress was able to give us a table for a hour as it was booked after that. We had the fish n chips, which were absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault any of it from service to food. Definitely recommend.

We didn't try the food but it looked good. They have gluten free beer and cider. Good atmosphere with live music.

We visited as a group of four and enjoyed starters, mains, and desserts. The food was exceptional, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Additionally, the staff were so lovely. We will definitely return!

The place is nice but food is horrible, tasteless and expensive. Not worth it at all!! Don’t waste your money in here.

We went in for lunch on Saturday afternoon, really good atmosphere and great for the Euros, food was very good but the service was even better, the staff where very polite and made sure we had everything we needed, especially a girl called Amy who was brilliant with our 2 girls and couldn't have been more helpful will Def be back

We regularly go here on a Wednesday for the steak deal as it's always excellent and great value

Bar stuff doesn't know how to make a negroni. They replaced red vermouth with orange bitters and then told me that's just how they do it when I noticed. A negroni is a classic drink, you dont get to change the recipe

We went at Sunday lunch time and Henry's was very quiet great if that's how you like it but we felt it was a bit flat. The food was fantastic and the staff brilliant,one of the bar men talked me through some of the beers that were on offer sorry I didn't get his name but he was very good. We will be back but maybe at a different time of day.

Had a couple of pints of Guinness here one Sunday afternoon, and got to enjoy the excellent Anna's Number play live.

Seafood Chowder was best I have ever had. And I’ve had a few! Partner had Beef Stew which was very tasty. All staff were lovely and helpful. Well kept Guinness. Overall a great meal. Thank you all!

Went for Sunday Roast three courses for £27.95. Couldn't fault the service very good. Menu choices are good although would prefer to have roast chicken as a option for the Sunday Roast as I am not a fan off roast beef or lamb. Will definitely return

Was very excited by the menu. Ordered two £7 gin specials - cost me £19, allegedly due to the hidden cost of tonic (even though this is mentioned as part of the special). Then asked for a food menu, but was told the kitchen was closed (at 7:42pm). Will not be rushing back!

We were recommended to eat at Henry's by a couple of friendly local chaps who we met in a nearby pub on our first day! We are so pleased to have eaten here twice during our break in Belfast. The food was excellent and the prices were perfectly reasonable. The beef brisket was really nice and the following evening we enjoyed a couple of burgers which were delicious. The staff were really welcoming and service great. The only improvement I would make would be to increase the lighting levels as it's somewhat dark inside the main eating area. Apart from that, it was first class. Many thanks. 😊

Had food here few years ago, was very nice. Was in Henrys for few drinks a few weeks ago, good venue and not overly busy.

Very interesting place. A lot of different roms, a small place outside as well. Historycally, but toalett at the top, and trough a lot of rooms also special.

My friend and I came here for evening drinks and a dance. A cute place tucked away in an alley way. It was similar to a Be At One in London. There were so many different rooms from the dance floor, terrace, garden etc. All of which were pretty! The service was very slow and the prices were quite high. The music was your normal club music, which was nice as many other places nearby have the same Indie live music played. I'd recommend for a night out and for a few cheeky Insta photos too.

The service was very quick. Wasn't over impressed by the Pil Pil Prawns that I got, but liked the look of the halloumi salad and the chilli chicken. These looked really good and my friends said they were very tastefully. I got the steak for the main course and was well pleased although an extra tomatoe and mushroom or maybe some greens would have filled the plate a bit more, but maybe I'm being petty. Would return again. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

I had a great time at Henry's bar. Originally there was a mix up with our booking, but the staff were quick and efficient at sorting it out. Food was lovely, and drinks were reasonably priced. Atmosphere was great. Would definitely be back!

Went for Sunday lunch. Good, varied veggie options in a cosy pub which is hard to come by in Belfast! 2 courses for £23 I think it was. Delicious food and a lovely Irish coffee with great service.

It’s a bar recommended by our local guide and really impressive. Not easy to be found in an alley, a little bit like Xintiandi in Shanghai. Unfortunately there’s no live music with lunch. Girls can share with the hamburgers and sandwiches together. My favorite is the seafood chowder. We have eaten the bottom of the bowl lol. No student discount but still a good bargain. 10 pounds can be enough for a person without any drinks. They charge 10% service fees but I should say the service is not as excellent as the food.

Terrible service with world class awful bartender who ignored our order for 45 minutes out of spite. Im talking about you with auburn ponytails and facial piercings.

I usually really like this place. And there was live music and a good buzz about it for a Monday night. But there was not enough staff on. Most of the draught beers were run out and had to wait ages to be served. Had to clear my own table to get a seat for our party of 6 and the toilets were needing attention. Maybe because it was a Monday they didn't expect it to be so busy. But it is 1 week to Christmas and a graduation on today. I would go back hoping this experience waa a 1 off.

One star is more that enough for last night's experience. After booking, pre ordering like 2+ months ago for the company's Christmas dinner, we ended up eating 2hours without any drink. And the steak was cold. Finally after trying to grab an whiskey at the bar, there were out of glasses and i got my whiskey in a beer glass...

Good food. Had a 3 course Christmas lunch which was really tasty.

Tha bar staff was too busy not serving so we left

Avoid if you are a large party!! We had dinner here recently with a very large party. I've been there before for lunch, and had high hopes. The booking process was great, and the staff member coordinating it was extremely helpful. The atmosphere was brilliant, although the noise was absolutely deafening, because we were seated in the middle of the bar area. The food was fine. When we received the bill, we were advised that only 3 card payments could be taken. There were almost 40 of us, and we spent just less than £1k. This wasn't being paid by a company - we're NHS and were paying for ourselves. We didn't need to split the bill, but most of us needed to pay by card, as is typical these days. The staff were unable to accommodate this, for unknown reasons. The arbitrary 3 card limit made it *incredibly* difficult to sort out the bill, resulting in many trips to cash points in high heels on a freezing night, and it honestly soured what had, until then, been a lovely night. There were also several other issues regarding the bill, for example we were charged for someone who had cancelled (we were advised that we wouldn't be, as I'd tried to contact Henry's all day), and a drinks bill was erroneously allocated to a certain table, which resulted in the people there pretty much being accused of being dishonest (staff had in fact allocated the bill to the wrong table). Overall, we will take our custom elsewhere next year.

Great spot - will be going back when next in town. Plenty tvs for matches and lots of live trad and folk music.

Bar staff tend to ignore females when trying to get served. My husband and I were here 2 weeks ago and I stood for 20mins waiting to be served. My husband went for a smoke and to the bathroom and couldn't believe I was still waiting. He went to the bar in my place and got served straight away this happend twice on same nite. It was a fri nite so not that busy either. Apart from that we love Henry's as there is a gd atmosphere In it.

Definitely one of the most civilised bars in Belfast. I can’t stand bouncers telling you “right folks drink up please”. The door staff here are gentlemen, they let you know the establishment will be closing in good time to finish your drink, a classy behaviour that’s disappeared from a lot of other places. Unfortunately not had food but what I’ve seen coming out of the kitchen looks amazing! Drinks selection….well it’s a proper bar/classy Irish pub, you won’t be disappointed!
