Popped down to see farmer jon, picked up some steak and mince from his own herd, you could see his animals grazing, chickens running around and the farm looked super clean and so well organised, jon is definitely a proud and conscientious farmer who looks after his animals, oh and the rump steak was delicious.

What more could you ask for than an incredible family breakfast in the barn at the heart of this farm run by a passionate couple? Farm-fresh eggs, scrambled or not, accompanied by toasted bread, quality butter and their homemade bacon, a real delight 🤤. And if you have a sweet tooth, I recommend their blueberries pancakes. As for drinks, we had local coffee and tea with Cornish cream milk respectively, perfect. We had the pleasure of chatting for a while with Jon in the company of animals, a very rewarding moment. We had the pleasure of being able to buy some eggs from the farm. We can only recommend this little heart of paradise . Thank you so much ☺️

Best place on earth to us.. our happy place. So glad to have found you! Jon cannot do enough for us and his guests during several stays. My son helped around the working farm every stay, fully embracing farm life and Jon’s warm, giving, hospitality. The cottages are warm, cosy, a home from home, with everything that you would possibly need for however long you are lucky enough to stay. The cream teas, delicious and fresh produce are hard to beat, the bbq’s and themed evenings that have been arranged are perfect, in the best surroundings. To feel at one with nature, at peace, with the farm animals free roaming, on a working farm, it’s just the best and we enjoy every moment, can’t wait to be back!

Each holiday in Cornwall, we seem to find a new gem of a place – This time it was Hendra Croft Farm, which, unfortunately was the day before we returned home, or we would have had the benefit of their marvellous, Cream Teas, Cooked Breakfasts and BBQ’s more often. Slightly off the beaten track this is a delightful working farm and you can choose to eat inside the quaintly decorated barn, or outside, in the orchard garden – we ate our Cream Tea’s outside. – It really is beautiful, if rustic. The scones are home made, and the tea is served in a pot with china cups and saucers. The BBQ’s and cooked breakfasts use the meat from the farm which includes Aberdeen Angus beef, lamb and pork meats, which I am sure would live up to expectations, but I will need to wait until next year to sample. The service was welcoming and cheery, the service good and the ambience blissful – But it is a working, family farm and whilst we felt this added to the charm, some may feel that a Starbucks is more them (like those that commented on bird poop on a table under a tree, in the orchard garden)! Thank you to John and his partner for making us welcome – We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and wish you every success – you deserve it

I bought my family, whilst holidaying in cornwall for a traditional cream tea, after reading such great reviews. Wow. What a massive disappointment. The farm cafe really is in the barn. It's right nextdoor to where the cows are kept so subsequently are rats and flies everywhere. The cows also sound quite distressed which was uncomfortable. There is a bell to ring to summon the farmer. We rang it 5 times before he arrived. He was an eccentric man called Jon. He greeted us warmly and sat us in the cafe. He then made us wait over an hour for our scones and even tea to arrive. I understand this is a working farm that state they do 'good food, slowly' but scones only take 10 minutes to cook fresh. Why we waited so long, was never explained. When it arrived, we had an empty tea pot and not enough jam or cream for the size of the scones. Also the china was tea stained and chipped. The host Jon was obviously under a lot of pressure and seemed as of this was his first time ever serving a meal. The pink haired woman was just standing on the peripheral, barking orders at the staff, but not helping to control the chaos, in fact I think she added to it. We were never table checked. We asked to sit in the orchard instead of the cafe because it was so grimey, but the orchard had a lot of dog poo which smelt awful. The picnic tables were also covered in bird poo. Probably from the wild fowl which is nice to see, but please clean the tables after theyve perched on them. Very unhygienic. I can't believe we wasted our time and money here. I worry for the aninals, as there were too lambs roaming around and one obviously has a brain problem. This was also upsetting to see. I think this guy is taking the Micky out of tourists and exploiting his staff. I wont be back. I spoke to a member of staff that told me that didnt get paid because they were on a workaway there and the way he treats them is hurroundeous. I also got a puncture after leaving because there was glass on the drive entering the carpark. What a nightmare of an experience. This could be an amazing place if the owners had less of an ego and put the customer first. And animals for that fact.

Thanks to the very friendly Jon and his team for a lovely cream tea and a delightful experience. The scones were so tasty and fresh washed down by a nice pot of tea. Be prepared to wait as scones are cooked fresh, but it’s worth it! I loved the chickens and the dog who came to see me. I’m really glad I made the visit. A very nice finish to my holiday so thank you.

Amazing cream tea!!! Super light (and still warm) scones. Plenty of jam and cream, or was it cream and jam 😬. Even though it's off the beaten track, definitely recommend a visit.

Loveable location for a traditional Cornish cream tea. Very authentic experience eating in the eclectically decorated barn with some of the farm hens, ducks and a dog (who owns the sofa) roaming freely and completely friendly to humans. Cream tea was delicious and very friendly chatty service too. Would love to go again.

Have seen the sign on main road a few times as we drive past and today we were tempted in. So glad we went down the lane. A delicious cream tea with proper home made scones and rich clotted cream and jam. We sat in the orchard and enjoyed watching the cute ducks that wandered around and came to say hello when our tea arrived. It was all just perfect and we will certainly go back before it is the end of our holiday. This will certainly be the cream tea that we talk about on the cold winter nights when we are longing for our Cornish summer holiday.

Simply the best cream tea we have ever had, £5 for 2 scones, jam, cream and tea. Served in Gramma’s orchard which would be cliched if it wasn’t so perfect. Chickens and a Jack Russell add to the charm and the staff were lovely.

The timing was fortuitous as 90 seconds before my wife said she fancied a cream tea instead of lunch, a hand written sign later and fate had us driving down a little lane to a field and then a 50m walk to the orchard of the farm. Here we were treated the best scones we have ever tasted and the chickens and Jack Russell added to the charm. We will be back next year!

I saw the sign by the side of the road on my way to Newquay in the morning and thought 'that's my afternoon cream tea sorted.' And it was. Excellent 'free-format' scones freshly baked, good proper jam and plenty of clotted cream. The weather was fine so I sat at one of the picnic benches in the orchard, with the hens running around, several ducks, and one of the farm dogs dozing on the grass. Service was friendly and polite. I always look for a farmhouse cream tea when in the West Country, and this one lived up to expectations. Totally recommended.

Looking for a cream tea on a wet Summer afternoon we stumbled across Hendra Croft Farm. What a find, down a long farm track, park the car in a field next to cow pen and walk to a barn. What a brilliant tea, freshly baked scones, strawberry jam and oodles of fresh cream. Very rustic surroundings and accompanied by chickens wandering around, just brilliant. Service leisurely because food all freshly baked - not fast food. Staff very friendly and obliging and tea was very good value for money. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

We were attracted by the handwritten sign on main road, but apparently the official sign had been pinched several times. We went down a gravel lane, already an adventure and eventually arrived at this quaint picture postcode farm. There was a bell to ring for service, but before we had the opportunity, a cheerful welcoming man appeared and asked if we would like to sit in the orchard for our cream tea. We did take the photo opportunity to ring the old fashioned bell afterwards, and many more in the orchard! The orchard had a charming ambience with chickens roaming freely who were also very friendly and appeared to be greeting the guests, as well as calming classical music playing. Service was friendly efficient and the most amazing freshly baked scones were served on traditional china. I was so delighted by this idyllic farm setting for a cream tea. It's one of the most lovely memories of my holiday. They also have a visitors book you can sign, another lovely touch! If you are in this area, this is not to be missed, and great for the whole family, with other drinks and ice creams also on offer - open in the summer only.

We always like a Cream Tea when visiting Newquay for our Summer Hols, we fancied something different but traditional and on our travels noticed a sign post at the side of the Road advertising Afternoon Cream Tea. So on a rainy afternoon we ventured down the little farm track and into the car park which was a field, we walked towards the signs and were directed by a young lady into a Barn. We had stumbled on a true gem, there was sawdust on the floor & chickens running freely around, none of the tables & chairs matched ... it was wonderful. We ordered 3 Afternoon Cream Tea's, mine with traditional Tea which came in a China Tea Pot which gave me 4 cups of tea, my husband had coffee & my son a Strawberry Milkshake. How glad were we that we didn't just go into a traditional tea-room or café, the scones were still warm & very definitely freshly baked, We cannot wait to go back next year on our hols & hopefully when the weather is good as we were told that they serve in the Orchard when its fine weather.

This restaurant is situated in the grounds of Penwith College and is run by young adults ranging in ages from 16-19. My sister and I went for an early Christmas dinner, 3 courses and coffee for £27.50, I was absolutely stunned at the high quality of the food, you could not get better in Michelin starred restaurant, the servers were competent and polite, they all worked very hard and this is after a full day of study. I will definitely be returning very soon. Amazing. This is a hidden gem in Cornwall

BEST. HOTDOGS. IN. THE. UNIVERSE. The amazing, very friendly guys running this place, kindly served me the best hotdog I've ever had, last year when we were on holiday down here. They said they only had large one's left, so that's what I bought. I ate it as I walked around the port with my wife & daughter, and I was immensely happy. I wanted to purchase another one on the way out, just out of sheer greed! It's worth the long drive to Cornwall from Yorkshire, to visit this gem of a place. We are visiting again this lunchtime, & I am so excited. Please Lord, let it be open... I don't ask for much in life. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 (If it is closed for whatever reason, I will literally break down & cry right there n then.)
