Great, friendly service, with plenty of choice and sensible prices in the current economic climate. One of the best rib eye steaks we have had in a very long time. Forgot to check, but suspect it was from close by.

this is one of the shops that must get visited when in town the staff are all well experiened in the meat trade the pie maker frazer makes amazing scotch pies even better if your lucky to be in wen there just out of oven they also offer a delivery service in town and local areas which is good for older people orders taken on phone always a full display to see the meat is local scottish and fresh prices yes there good i never reccomend supermarket meat fresh from the butchers is best

Bought a family size steak pie, one of the nicest pies I have ever eaten stunning gorgeous. I would recommend this to anyone.

Well during COVID I’ve been lucky to have had the excellent Henderson brothers delivering to me some amazing products and some excellent vegetable s too can’t fault this shop great foods and excellent staff in there providing some tasty treats

Given there are 3 excellent butchers in Castle Douglas, the trick is to find what one suits you for certain things. I would be happy to recommend Henderson's for their beef olives. Oddly, we are not so keen on their beef links. Best you go try a selection of things.

pre-ordered Christmas meats, pastries and goodies :) staff are lovely and helpful - highly recommended!

We stop here whenever we are in Galloway to stock up on haggis. Miles better than any others we can buy. Give it a try!

I agree with another review, Castle Douglas has three top rate butchers, we were spoiled for choice on our recent visit to D and G area. Great customer service here too at Hendersons, we certainly have tasted some of the areas great produce.

For a small town it has 3 of the best butchers in the region each with their own specialty. The chipolatas are addictive and haggis just right. Family favourite.

We allways try to stop and get some square slice and black pudding to bring home as it is not the same in at home and never let down with both tastes and service from the helpful staff.

I am a frequent visitor to this shop. Meat is first class. My son's favourite is the bacon chops with maple syrup. The large supermarkets can't compete with the type of service offered here. There is plenty banter which reflects in the large number of regular customers.

called in to buy some lovely Scotish fayre to take home. sausage, bacon, black pudding, haggis rings, fresh eggs. They had some on offer, and were worth the price. Always good wholesome and worth the money fayre.

These guys go the extra mile again and again. Highly recommend. Can order by phone and they deliver.

we visit Castle Douglas often and we think Hendersons is the best butchers to buy sausage & bacon there sausage are not full of fat and grissle like some others and there ayrshire bacon is amazing

On our annual visits to Castle Douglas, one 'shop' we really look forward to experiencing again is Hendersons. Their Scotch pies are one of the best, as are their Black Puddings and sausages - try their Pork Sausages with Caramelized Onions and Pepper. Delicious!
