Hemmingford's Restaurant and Bar in Stratford-on-Avon

Si se hospeda en el albergue Stratford - upon - Avon y no le apetece cocinar, entonces este restaurante es perfectamente útil. Es limpio, higiénico y el personal es educado. Tomamos el desayuno y la cena. Estaban bien, aunque a los hombres de nuestro grupo les hubiera gustado una mayor cantidad de alimentos cocinados para el desayuno. No hay nada único o especial al respecto, así que no haría un viaje especial. Esto no es una crítica, sería como ir a la cafetería de alguien más o algo así.

El menú ahora es extremadamente limitado y la comida es bastante sosa. Esto está en contraste con nuestras numerosas experiencias agradables de comidas YHA en otros lugares. La mejor opción de valor es el "buffet", que en realidad es una comida preparada (principal y pudín, la última de las cuales probablemente se sirve directamente de una caja de Sara Lee). Si desea tomar esta opción, debe reservar con anticipación. El personal fue amable. Le di un "Promedio" en reconocimiento del hecho de que es parte de un Albergue Juvenil, si se tratara de un verdadero restaurante independiente, el puntaje sería "Deficiente".

Nos reservamos una estancia en el YHA Stratford por tres noches para celebrar el 50 cumpleaños de nuestros amigos. Por desgracia se estropeó el "restaurante" en el albergue. Éramos un grupo de 12 personas y nos dijeron que no hay necesidad de reservar una mesa para una comida. Fuimos a las 7pm el 26 de octubre y me dijeron que no podía servir como había muchos de nosotros y lo que se necesita para mantener lo que tenían para otros clientes! ! Además de un menú muy pequeño de 5 platos principales no tenían bases de pizza! Nos había comprado bebidas alcohólicas en el albergue, así que no podía conducir a ningún lugar. Nos sugirieron que conseguir un chino o hindú para llevar que era totalmente innappropriate porque mi hija es alérgica al huevo y sésamo productos. Por desgracia, nuestros amigos que acababa de llegar esperando sentarse a cenar después de conducir 3 horas y luego tuvimos que conducir nosotros en una búsqueda de comida. Es más allá de mal manejo. Pedí hablar con el director y el subdirector dijo que no había un gerente en el trabajo y cuando le pregunté que estaba a cargo dijo que estaban! Tal incompetencia. Nos hemos alojado en más de 30 diferentes albergues juveniles durante muchos años y esta fue la peor experiencia de comida. Nuestros amigos pedimos el desayuno en la mañana, lo cual también fue un fiasco, ya que tenían comida muy poco a la izquierda y nos dijeron que sólo podía haber una pieza de tocino para ir con sus otros dos artículos! ! Increíble. También el café era eliminado a exactamente 9. 30 incluso si querías otra taza. Penoso organización y administración. No te molestes en ir. Estoy escribiendo en la Sede.

We were staying at the YHA and had dinner in Hemmingford's Restaurant there on Sunday evening. I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first YHA visit, others in our party had eaten at different YHAs before and found them a bit uninspiring (to be polite!) but all our expectations were exceeded. Cost for 3 courses was £11.95 and there was a choice of 3 or 4 items for each course. I had soup to start, it was very tasty; roast beef followed and this was excellent, really well cooked with roast potatoes, yorkshire pud and 5 veg! A very generous portion. Gravy was served separately in jugs, which is always nicer, and was plentiful. For dessert I had chocolate brownie and ice cream and it was also very good. A bottle of wine was very reasonable at around £10 and nice bottles of water were provided for the table. The staff were efficient and very pleasant, I really can't fault this meal at all and would recommend the Sunday roast, it's at least as good as any pub Sunday lunch - and better than many.

Hemmingford House is a listed building and a wonderful setting for a YHA set within a stone's throw of Stratford upon Avon with plenty of free parking space. My experience of the YHA is their Sunday lunch which has always been beautifully presented, wonderfully cooked and very reasonable. The chef's name is Tim, a very nice young man for whom nothing is too much trouble. However Tim is moving on to sunnier climes, namely Italy. I shall miss him greatly and his spectacular lunches but I wish him good luck and any hotel that employs Tim will be very lucky indeed.

In beautiful surroundings, a quiet place for a meal on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is attached to a grand mansion now the recently refurbished Youth Hostel for Stratford-upon-Avon. Many of those who stay there have an early meal before going to the Shakespeare Theatres in Stratford, so it's quite quiet from 7pm. A two-course well prepared delicious meal, waitress-served for under £10 - that can't be bad. Next time we'll take a group of 20 there.

The meal was much better than we expected. Excellently presented. Good value and tasted and hot. Staff friendly and obliging.

We had a lovely traditional Sunday roast, as well as breakfast here. The food was good, not pricey and pleasant atmosphere too!

Fantastic value and great quality , good portions and the veg option for her indoors was gorgeous apparently especially since often the vegetarian choice is pretty naff at most places

We were taken here by some friends for a quick and easy Sunday Lunch. The resturant was quite, the service staff were very attentive and welcoming but by the end of the meal we were beginning to be irritated by being referred to a "you guys" all the time! The food was OK general roast meat with trimmings.

I went to a friend's birthday do here a couple of weeks ago, and the staff, food and venue were as good as ever. The atmosphere was fantastic, as was the buffet and the band, and everyone had a great great time. Will definitely keep coming back!

I booked Hemmingford's - the restaurant/bar at the YHA - on for a Christmas party back in December. There were 23 of in the party, and every one of us had a great time. The food was really good, and excellent value for money (£11.95 for 3 courses); the service was spot on, and nothing was too much trouble Most of the party commented on what an amazing venue the YHA is, and many will be going back to eat again. Many thanks to everyone at Stratford YHA for a brilliant night.
