Recommended by a trustworthy source!! A cozy but lively 🙂 atmosphere, different sections have slightly different vibes. Live gigs, dancing, chillout booths and bar staff were friendly. Hats off to the security, very polite and you definitely feel safe!! Colleagues were very happy for a big night out.

Proper German themed bar right in the centre of Cardiff! Pretty reasonably priced too. Table service as well. Great on a rugby match day! Nice outdoor seating area. Serves Lowenbrau which is a proper German beer.

Terrible door staff, asked if it was free to come in as it was my birthday as I received an email about it and the bouncer said to ask the people at the front selling tickets so I did. I then ended up getting kicked out by the bouncers because I asked? Horrible treatment do not recommend. Cheers Heidi’s Thankyou for ruining my 21st birthday 👍

A busy but fun place. Well worth the visit.

First time there on Friday night. Was a chill place at 6 to 7 or so. Had the beer tower and some extras. Waitress was pleasant and the live perdormer wasn't bad either. Definitely coming back.

Women be careful of this place, I was spiked while in Heidi’s. I would never go out with my girl mates here again as I know they wouldn’t be looked after properly if anything bad were to happen. Staff were appalling, medical woman sat there and accused me of being on drugs the entire time. I don’t understand why you would employ medical personnel when they can’t do their job, I probably should of had a ambulance called but instead I got her and a bouncer who couldn’t close the door (so everyone in the club couldn’t see the state I was in). Due to her accusation that I was on a certain type of recreational drug I didn’t get the treatment I needed. The bouncers were just as bad, we went back to retrieve a lost item about a week later, and the bouncer with a beard refused us entry. We explained that we wernt even trying to come in, but that the police had done a drug test a few days prior( was negative for all recreational drugs and goes back 7 days) once they said what they wanted, they completely refused to listen to anything else, the two bouncers on the door literally looked at the sky while we were talking to them to avoid eye contact. It seems like the medical woman said one thing and then all staff just jumped on the bandwagon despite it not being true. I agree with other reviews that the venue is great, but the staff are awful. I used to come here a hell of a lot, with my friends, family & work colleagues. There have been instances before of similar treatment explained in other reviews, but never as serious as this. Will not be returning.

Lovely bouncers and bar staff. Had an incident with a man making me uncomfortable in the club and they dealt with it extremely quick, kicked him out and made sure I felt safe.

We booked a table here for our Christmas works night out! We didn't have food, so I can't rate that. But the place was great! The music was great, the staff are friendly and helpful. The deco is quirky and we had a lovely evening!

I was served by an amazing bar tender called Georgie, she was kind, quick on the job and particularly effective. I have not experienced a night out with a bar tender like Georgie and could not ask for any better, she has genuinely made my life experience at Heidi’s way better than I could imagine, thank you again Georgie!!

If I could rate the service zero I would! I know Saturday nights are busy but if you don't want to be there then get a job in McDonald's. There was one particular blond girl that stropped and acted like my 10 yr old daughter just because I asked for a glass of cabernet sauvignon. All because she had to go get another bottle as I denied the merlot and when she came back she slammed the glass on the bar and half of it came out the glass. Why do these girls work behind the bars with attitude?! Also her cocktails were repulsive. Do not dine here.

We booked a table for 8 and got given a booth that fits 6 people at a push, then the ones stood up were uncomfortable and their shoes were sticking to the floor, disgusting. It was a bit too crowded and because we couldn't all sit down we moved to a table upstairs, which was better. Service was slow and when we arrived we were not welcomed, infact felt awkward. However, Cocktails were nice.

Rude staff, refused entry because I was apparently was “too drunk” because I couldn’t name the bars I had been to prior (I’m not from Cardiff). I was not acting any different from anyone else in the queue but got picked out as a problem but then couldn’t actually explain why I was a problem. All staff members decided to gang up on me despite not knowing the reasons for not letting me in.

The security staff on the door should be ashamed of themselves . I am an older lady in my 50s I was meeting work colleges in the bar last night Sat 14th . I was on my own it was 9.30pm and I had a drink . But was not drunk and perfectly fine . I went to walk in and he said you are to drunk I can't let u go in I don't like the way you are presenting yourself . I was so embarrassed and nervous to be in Cardiff outside a bar . I tried to explain that i couldn't under stand why he felt like that . He refused to answer me . I did call my colleges and they came out thank god . If they treat an older lady in her 50s this why . What chance do the younger generation have . I am still fummi g over it and embarrassed

Worst place in Cardiff by a mile, bouncers wouldn't let us through the door for being drunk despite we were stone cold sober. Avoid at all costs and go anywhere else

Bouncers accusing groups of men of being on drugs or being over intoxicated for no apparent reason. Stood aside and watched as more men just turned away, women allowed straight in. Do not recommend.

I had an incredible experience with Gethin Lewis! His customer service was top-notch, providing a level of attention that truly made me feel valued. The drink I ordered was not only amazing but also incredibly affordable. The prices were refreshingly reasonable, and the cleanliness of the place was impressive. To top it all off, the student discount they offer is by far the best I've ever come across. Heidi’s Bar is definitely my go-to spot now!

The premises is very modern and well designed, the owners must spent a lot of money to do this place, but unfortunately the staff need to be reviewed, specifically the security, the head security or the manger is very rude and unprofessional, he thinks that he's giving a favour to the customers , and have no respect to the customers and his colleagues , I been there few times with friends and family and we liked the place but unfortunately we will never go back there again because of that staff member, what a shame for heidis.

We had an excellent deal, two beers for £8.50. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the theme and had our beers in the traditional steins. Great seeing people receiving their drinks with fireworks! Highly recommended if you want a night our with fun atmosphere. Pretzels.

Security guards rejecting all boys for being on 'packet', dispite not even looking at them properly. About 30 boys rejected on Saturday night in 5 minutes for all being on apparent drugs, when some of them had not even had a drink that night. Self proclaimed Manager, Matthew Williams and his 'bouncers' ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Stopped for glass of wine and beer and sat outside. Lovely!

The bar staff and helpful and always ready for you but the stand out staff were the door staff so helpful understanding and had so much patience with people is was unreal. The door team were the stand out of the night the manager was such a nice guy and he and all his team were great to myself and all our stag party there cant wait to go again.

Horrible experience, staff very rude especially the security guys. They have let us order a new set of drinks only to push us away as soon as we sat on the table. Been rushed out and didn't had time to wait for my uber so I got in my car waiting for my uber as i was freezing. The security called police thanking i will drive even tho i havent moved and even tho I had a receipt waiting for a pick up . It was a whole mess and a horrible night overall. I will never go back. Don't go there with your car , especially if you are not white.

Absolutely love Heidi’s bier bar! Such a good venue, speed of bar is incredible, the interior and exterior decor is second to none and special shout-out to the manager Hugh who kindly told me where he shops for his stylish clothes! Boo hoo is lucky to have him!!

A friend of mine recently visited with a group of her friends for a joint celebration of her 30th birthday/her friends hen do. She is deaf and when trying to talk to the bar manager about a booking she was mocked by him as he turned to a colleague and said “She needs to learn how to talk properly” and he laughed in her face. Needless to say I am beyond disgusted that this is how someone with a disability was treated at this establishment. Most companies go out of there way to accommodate people with difficulties, but what happened here is absolutely unbelievable! Life is hard enough for people with disabilities, and my friend already had low confidence due to how she will be perceived, and now she doesn’t want to go out again. I’m absolutely livid and I will be pursuing this further!

Where do I start? Hugh Hugh Hugh. What a man? An awful one. This man needs to learn customer service skills, kindness and compassion. This man took the mick out of a deaf woman. Our friend is deaf and was trying to explain our booking reference. To which he replied to another mate, get her to talk properly. He already knew she was deaf at this stage as it was addressed. He was laughing and smirking. Then he picked on the rest of the group. He didn’t allow us in despite having a booking. Saying one of us was too drunk. We weren’t. Yet people were swinging from chairs outside etc. unprofessional. Hugh has to go. He’s horrible. Awful place.

Great vibe but they dilute their alcohol to such an extent that it should be illegal. Drank 6 rum & cokes, barely felt any rum even though I saw them pour it.

Literally feel like Heidi's is just queueing for a pint simulator. Not horrible but not great definitely prefer other places. Only redeeming quality is the CBD beer and lauwenbrau beer

I have visited to Heidi's on the Saturday night for the first time. There was an amazing band playing live music. Every now and then, members of staff stood on top of the counter and danced and encouraged people to dance and it was real fun. I cannot wait to visit again.

This place is so much fun however some of the staff there ruin it. We've been a couple of times and the staff have always been an issue. They claim you're too drunk and you have to leave when it's not true. Most of the staff there are lovely but there are a small handful who are miserable and 'have the power' It is a lovely little place, really quirky. The music is really good too and the dancing on the bar is fun, but some staff need a different job lol!!

Heidis was the place to be before the change in managers. Multiple times people have gotten false accusations thrown at then given people a ban raging from 3 months to lifetime. They are refusing to provide any supporting evidence of their claims to the bans they have been handing out like candy. The staff have now multiple reports on them to their owners (REKOM group). Until things changes I would recommend avoiding this place if you don’t want to get refused entrance or thrown out for no reason😊 Heidis, do not bother to reply to this review with an copy past answer to make your self “look good”

Every Friday they have a beach party with loads of offers. The Heidi burger is great value the staff are lots of fun. They even have a beach with palm trees beach balls and even parrots. It's a great fun place for all ages. Every Friday they have a singer and a great saxophonist. It's a real treat

It’s said that there’s the first time you go out drinking, and there’s the best time. Well, my experience with Heidi’s was both, in a beautiful twisting memory of drunken and disorderly behaviour mixed with the pulse pounding beats a faux ski lodge beirkeller has to offer. My server, Harrison, guided me by my hand, first to the men’s toilets, then to my table, where my chalice of rum awaited. At one point, not sure if the bouncing feeling I was sensing was the booze or the floor about to collapse, Harrison, grabbing me above the crowd with his big strong arms, sat me aside and calmed me with his greatest stories and escapades. Thank you Harrison, and thank you Heidi’s. You made my night.

Imagine they served me lemonade instead of vodka lemonade, manager tasted it and agreed with the server after she whispered to him, who claimed I was too "intoxicated" to tell the difference. I could see on his face he was lying to me. Mind you I am from Poland, I know what vodka tastes like.. I told them I'll pay for another one but I want to watch you make it, only then I could taste the vodka in my drink. They even tried to sell my girlfriend a Jaeger bomb without the Jaeger. Scammers, rude staff, will not be returning. A place could have been so great. Seeing by the other comments seems as if they are working together to fool people. I will go out my way today to personally speak to the manager.

Bouncer very dismissive and rude

Two bouncers at the entrance were very aggressive towards me and my mate. My mate thought our group of friends had left the bar so he left and then realised we were still there so he tried to come back in. I saw him being turned away by the bouncers so I went and talked to them peacefully. They said the reason for him not being allowed in to the bar and kicked me out for trying to justify him even though I was very calm. They both ragged me out of the club very aggressively and were very rude. Then they threatened me with the police and posted a picture of me and my friend to all other clubs which refused us entry for the rest of the night so we had to go home. The bouncers were clearly bored on a Thursday night so decided they wanted to have fun and abuse their power. I have pictures of both bouncers who refused to give me their names.

Staff and management was rude and heavy handed. However there was one lovely bartender. The rest treat their job like we should worship them for serving us a drink. Also a very short manager who enjoys pushing people….

If you want to hire a private function I would recommend looking somewhere else door staff very unprofessional and made to feel unwelcome when the party was going ahead on 3rd floor. I dont like leaving negative reviews but feel I need to on this occasion.

Treatment poor & Hostile staff Came as for another usual night but this time instead of kind friendly staff I meet a rude bar worker and her authority abuser boyfriend Iestyn who kicked off on me for talking to his girlfriend (which he felt to inform me ) even though it was entirely social as I'm in a relationship and bisexual! , just wanted to drink and chat but a workplace relationship seems to have more priority here than store brand, appalling to see as I'm a regular, he threw me out for "bothering his girlfriend" i only asked her if she had a long shift today, the same as i ask all industry workers as they have to work hard while we kick back, he demanded i was removed, kicked out for asking a member of staff how they are, absolutely horrid and injust clearly the staff run the bar as they see fit without supervision Faced a lot of hostility even though work place relationship shouldn't effect business, but this relationship has ruined the evening and brand reputation, all over a meltdown for talking to a worker, truly disappointing to see that side of my favourite place

Booked a table for 17 people got told 2 members of our group were too intoxicated to enter. We asked to point out who and they wouldn’t tell us. Let loads of people in during this who were “drunk”. Treated poorly which then resulted in the situation escalating. Bouncers stood there laughing at what they had caused. Been told this place is known for this but didn’t want to listen to rumours. We got lot in everywhere else in Cardiff appart from this place.

My gym spent £1800 to rent out the top floor for our Christmas social. The buffet provided was inedible, cold and disgusting. So me and a friend left the club to buy food elsewhere (yes, a cheese sandwich from spar was more enticing). When we returned to the club, we were told to get to the back of the queue. What kind of venue makes a client who's spent £1800 on renting the top floor, queue to re-enter...after serving disgusting food? Shambles. Heidi's shmeidis. I shall not be returning.
