Heaven Scent in Perth & Kinross

This is a very convenient stop if you are travelling down the M90 from Perth towards Dunfermline, Edinburgh etc. It is easily reached from junction 7 and you can easily connect afterwards by continuing down South Street. The menu is extensive but we only wanted a light bite. The soup was really tasty and beautifully served with a very good cheese scone or lovely brown bread. The cafe is well laid out and the staff are very attentive.

Turned up without a booking while travelling. Despite being really busy they juggled around to squeeze us in. Food was fabulous, great takes away cakes, excellent value and good friendly service. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic find for four hungry travelers! We could see that they were packed out which was a good sign but they were fully booked. We settled on a takeaway to eat in the car as we were so hungry. Whilst we debated on what to order by a stoke of luck a table left early. So they accommodated our needs with a smile. We all had something different from the menu and we all had a full tummy. The food was amazing, the service was top notch we even took cake for later! Would highly recommend…… book first as you may not be as lucky as us!

What a lovely surprise to find a dog friendly establishment. A solo visit, while walking in the area and fancying a bite to eat, popped in here. The waitress did not have a dog friendly table. ,but very quickly, we were seated. No questions asked about being a solo guest. The menu is varied and quite reasonably priced. The food arrived quickly and was very nice. A large selection of cakes was presented in the cake cabinet. They all looked delicious, not today for me, a good excuse for a visit another time.

Delightful spot for breakfast. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the interior was cute, the food was tasty! The Rhubarb and Ginger scone was delicious, the strawberry, rhubarb compote, and granola pancakes were tasty, and the haggis was great!

Took mother for an Afternoon Tea. They were so accommodating to her needs. She's very fussy. They altered the menu to suit. Beautiful selection of savory nibbles and sandwiches homemade scones and delicious cakes. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. I would recommend that you book. It can be really busy especially at weekends. Reasonable price also.

First visit! Hadn’t booked and place was busy but they managed to squeeze us in! Ordered from breakfast menu which was lovely - it’s nice to have all day breakfast options! Coffee was lovely. Definitely be back - enjoyed a walk down to the Loch afterwards!

Booked a table in advance, as I was planning to visit on a Sunday morning. Arrived at my booked time, no greeting from any of the numerous staff members. Waited until I was approached by a grey haired waitress who would be more at home on a parade ground it would seem. She seemed to think the best way to approach a customer was to bark “name?” at me before bothering to ask if I’d made a booking or not. She then casually wandered off, returning a few minutes later to ask my name again. Was shown a table, given a menu and within literally 2.5 mins of me sitting down, she was over asking for my order. I had to politely say that I wasn’t sure yet and could I have a few more minutes; she seemed to think it was ok to sigh and wander off again. Very odd behaviour indeed. I heard her berating another table of two for their audacity to assume they didn’t have to book, and how she’d need the table back in 45 mins or less. I ordered the small breakfast, and it was mediocre at best. Poached egg was hard all the way through, one measly veggie sausage which was tasteless and some veggie haggis that was bland and cold. Really not worth the price tag. I’ve no idea how this place is still in business. The extremely rude woman who is front of house seems to have a reputation for being awful, as read in other reviews. And the food is nothing to write about. Sadly I won’t be back, nor would I recommend Heaven Scent to anyone I like!

I met my friend for lunch. New to me. Food outstanding and lovely service. I am coeliac and the food choices were best anywhere. Cakes were something else and can honestly say that it would have been impossible to tell that they tasted gf. Well done, what a brilliant find of a place.

Visited for lunch. We have been many times before however the menu has changed. I used to love the different fillings in the sandwiches. My favourite was the chicken and mango. There is nothing like this now. The toastie I ordered came it was lovely ham however the cheese was all over the back of the bread very unappetising and nothing else on the plate?? They staff were lovely but I don't think we would travel as far again. Shame really.

First time here. Went for afternoon tea as this is the only place that does children afternoon tea. Took my niece. She loved it and I also enjoyed mine. Staff were polite. Couldn't do any more to make you feel welcome. Will definitely be back for a theme afternoon tea. Can't wait to try the festive afternoon tea

Heaven Scent is a lovely wee cafe and a place I go quite regularly. Today however I did not have a good experience. We arrived as a table of 5 at 1pm to a not particularly busy cafe. The waitress ( older woman with greying hair) was extremely rude to us saying we should have booked and that she had no room for us. She said there were tables reserved then grudgingly allowed us to squeeze into a table for four. She was shaking her head snd extremely rude. Those ‘reserved’ tables never appeared. She took our order with an attitude obviously miffed at us being there. Certainly not a nice experience and one that would put me off going back. Very disappointing.

Decided to visit here when out for a trip in the car. When we arrived almost every table was taken and the staff were extremely busy. We were asked to wait a few minutes whilst a table was cleared and cleaned for us. It was several minutes before someone took our order but this was expected due to how busy they were. Once our order was taken it didn't take long for it to arrive. Even though they were very busy all staff were polite and apologetic for us having to wait a little extra than normal. Coffee was very good as usual... the pumpkin minestrone soup and cheese scone was superb. Well done to all staff.

We have just had a lovely baby shower afternoon tea - the food was excellent and they catered for a dairy free and a gluten free afternoon tea too. They couldn’t do more for us and the staff were so attentive - thank you again

This is just a wonderful place to visit. We had afternoon tea which was great. The atmosphere and great ,caring staff,made this such joyful experience. Nothing was too much trouble. All the food was fresh and delicious. If you are feeling a little down this cafe will lift your spirits! We will be back soon.

First rate scones…only comparable to Cranberry’s in Glasgow. Fresh 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday! Well done. Nice cakes, wonderful atmosphere after a long hill walk.

Living just a few miles away from this place we have passed it many times either going somewhere or coming back from somewhere and always meant to try it out Well, at long last we have got round to visiting it and can’t praise it enough. Wonderful atmosphere, lovely friendly people and great very reasonably priced food…most definitely will now become a regular spot for us to visit.

Just the most perfect full cooked. Been here many times (too many) and it’s always a 10/10. My favourite. And none of this stupid ‘served till 11’ or the like. If it’s open, is on, so get it! You won’t be disappointed

Popped into Heaven Scent yesterday for a coffee and a scone. The coffee was hot and strong and the scone was warm and fresh with plenty of fruit inside. The delicious jam was homemade and the clotted cream was tasty. The atmosphere is convivial and the prices are reasonable. I left a happy customer. I shall return.

Took my mum for a day trip out of Glasgow and found this amazing gem of a place. (Had tried booking a few of the bigger well know places but had no availability - and I’m so glad, otherwise I’d never have found Heaven Scent)....

We booked a table for a quick meet-up. The place is cosy and the desserts are amazing. Some of the staff were nice and the food wasn't that bad either.

Just the best full cooked there is. Not greasy. Lovely service. Perfect coffee. And then an excellent cake selection to take away afterwards.

Stopped In for light lunch on way to Perthshire and really enjoyed. Menu was a bit restrictive if you didn’t want brunch style food or cake/ pancakes stacks however given we were only looking for a light lunch it hit the spot.

Everything about the meal was phenomenal! Grilled chili chicken sandwich and autumn vegetable soup served with two types of salad. We can see why it was so busy and reservations are recommended.

Called in here with nine other members of a local walking group after a snowy morning walk. Coming from 20 miles away I'd not heard of this place before but the local folk were singing its praises so I was looking forward to it.The decor is interesting and quirky and has been nicely done with some lovely creative touches that don't look as if they had cost a great deal, but are good ideas. Downstairs it was busy and there was a good atmosphere. As a group we were ushered through what appeared to be the door of a very large Smeg fridge but in fact turned out to be the stairs! The upstairs room was nice and accommodated us all with ease.There's a decent cafe type menu with all the usual things you would expect - soups, baked potatoes, salads, sandwiches, breakfasts, other light meals and of course scones and cakes. Despite there being ten of us, our orders were quickly taken and took hardly any time to be delivered. The staff were all lovely and very friendly and helpful.I just had a bowl of lentil soup with a rosemary and bacon savoury scone that I just had to try! The soup was home made, thick and tasty though for me it was just a little too salty. The scone was beautifully baked and tasty, certainly a bit different. Other people at my table also had soup and some had sandwiches (or "loaded breads" as the menu has it...) and these looked generously filled and tasty. They do a soup and sandwich deal which looked good value but I would probably have found too much at lunchtime.Overall, I would say Heaven Scent provides great food and service at reasonable prices and is an excellent cafe. There's absolutely nothing not to like about it.

We visited for coffee and cake after a long walk on a cold frosty day. My partner, who considers himself to be quite an expert on such matters, declared the Victoria Sponge to be the best he has ever tasted. I had a traybake which was also delicious, and the coffee was served piping hot and a smile. We will be back.

Stopped in here for coffee and cake following a walk nearby, with it still being the New Year period it was busy and all tables were taken initially. However, a couple of tables were finishing and the staff member who greeted us said that they could get us seated in a couple of minutes after they cleared a table. Minutes later we were seated and made comfortable perusing the menu and deciding what to have. Great selection of food items but being short of time just went for coffee and cake. Ordered an Americano and slice of Victoria Sandwich. My wife ordered Earl Grey tea and a Cherry Scone.Cafe was quite busy, nice hum as everyone enjoyed their food, chatted and generally relaxed in the pleasant surroundings. Did not have to wait long for our order, the Victoria Sandwich was superb, so was the Cherry Scone.A really enjoyable visit, great service from the staff and a superb list of food items many from local suppliers. Do visit!

In early to beat the rush .We both took the mini breakfast with tea . The quality of the bacon ,sausages and haggis is superb .The staff are helpfull and friendly. I like the way they have a board detailing their suppliers.Its always good to support the local suppliers and know that they are in the area Well done to management and staff

Booked for the festive afternoon tea for 2 adults and a child for today after hearing a lot of good reviews about the place, we were all fairly excited about our visit. We arrived at 1pm, the time we booked for, got seated straight away. At 1.40 a girl came to take our order. She asked us to pick one sandwich from the choices given. I was a little confused because the menu stated there was “a selection of afternoon tea sandwiches” so why did we have to choose just one? The girl admitted she was confused too so she went to double check, she came back to our table and said she doesn’t know why it says that but we just had to select one from the menu choice. 2.20 our afternoon tea arrived. First thoughts were it looked amazing but that thought was short lived. The sandwich was dry, there was only one little steak pie (bit disappointing when there should have been two) the scone was amazing but the two slices of cake at the top were awful. I have never tasted such a wet cake in my life, one was coconut and one was lemon. I usually like lemon flavours but this one tasted like some sort of lemon scented chemical product after taste! From the cakes they had on selection at the counter compared to what we were given it was so disappointing especially for it being £15.50 each!

Popped in while waiting for my car to be fixed at the local garage. It was 3.30pm and I looked at the cakes then went to sit in the corner window seat. A young man came and told me I couldn’t sit there and I was taken to the seating by the wall. These tables are by the counter and the kitchen and you end up stinking of food and deafened by the radio being played in the kitchen! It’s also by the toilet so people are passing by. The table I was told I couldn’t sit at was still vacant after I left (after having had tea and cake) and the only thing the staff had done was sweep under the tables. Basically the tables to the left of the door were reserved for cleaning! Perhaps this happens everyday. Good to know and maybe avoid in future. The tea and cake were very nice but I wish they would sort the extractor (if they have one) and perhaps install speakers so the music can be spread around instead of turned up load in the kitchen!

Recently visited with family for lunch. We ordered a variety of meals, both meat eaters and vegetarians. Have to say we all enjoyed our food. Finished with some coffee and a nice piece of cake. We will be back!

Having food intolerances means eating out can be a challenge. Heaven scent were very friendly and checked everything I ordered was suitable. Breakfast was great and I could have everything I wanted! Will definitely visit again

Very friendly service from the second you open the door, made to feel very welcome. I opted for the all day veggie breakfast as it was a little after 11am, and an americano with hot milk. Able to choose 8 items, veggie sausage, veggie haggis, mushrooms, tomatoes and perfectly cooked fried eggs (and toast). It was outstanding, I had never had veggie haggis like this before - what have I been missing? Great tasting coffee too. Can't wait till next weekend as I am looking forward to breakfast already.

Busy, busy place. Great decor, fabulous menu and just ideal for a Sunday meet with friends. We certainly trawled and admired the menu and had no problem whatsoever in choosing a variety of veggie and “ordinary” food. Everything was served hot, on hot plates (where appropriate) and very yummy indeed. Clean plates throughout. However here is where there is the bit of negativity. The staff were truly lovely, young, polite and friendly but (probably not their fault) we had to ask on three occasions about missing parts to our order or about items that simply didn’t appear. This down side to service simply let the whole visit experience down but it was extremely busy and I will return and recommend.

It's been a few years since I've been along to Heaven Scent but we popped in this morning for the Ultimate Breakfast (where you can pick the components of the dish and enjoyed a very nice breakfast). The eggs were spot on and the things like sausage and haggis were very good quality.

Absolutely love Heaven Scent - love their menu, love the feel of the place, the cakes, etc, etc! We travel over fairly regularly from Glenrothes which is actually not too far at all. I bought one of their wee teapots and cosy a while ago because I was obsessed with the ones in Heaven Scent. Highly recommend the Ramsay black pudding with crispy bacon and grilled apple from their lunch menu.

For food choice and quality you can't beat Heaven Scent. I have visited on many occasions and keep returning as the food is excellent, the home made cakes are amazing and there is a really good buzz about the place.

Awesome food, brilliant staff, cake to die for. Went here with my wife on a recommendation from the instructor at a local off-road driving centre, skipped breakfast so it was great to find this wee gem. Will be back.

The lentil soup was extra-special. Can’t believe I’m saying that (about soup). Daughter had beetroot panini filled with haggis, bacon and apple. Fantastic too. I had the prawn salad - beware, this is a big salad, with rice on the side and loads of lettuce and prawns, mango and touch of avocado. Oatcakes and GF bread as options. And a wonderful range of cakes and tray bakes, the majority GF. Tea in pots with funky tea cosys. Lovely friendly waitresses, all with welcoming smiles. Highly recommended.

I love it here, a friendly efficient team, amazing cakes, great food and nice decor. For someone with a food allergy it's so easy and enjoyable to eat here as the menu is clearly labelled and the team are knowledgeable and helpful at dealing with allergies. Other restaurants would do well to copy this! They also have a good selection of vegan cakes.

Heard about this establishment from a work colleague whom rated it 10/10... and I can personally 100% agree! What a beautiful little place. It’s so welcoming, staff were ever so friendly and I love that the menu is homemade and a bit different to the norm my partner and me had the soups... lentil for me and sweet potato with chilli and coconut... well they were delicious and very humbling to the soul! Without a doubt we will be back to tuck into there menu

We go here every few weeks for a treat. Usually it’s breakfast menu we pick as it’s on all day. Yes you have to wait but you know it’s freshly cooked and not greasy at all. We usually pick 5 items of your choice with toast. On occasion we have soup and a cake. The gateau choices are lovely. Every time we have been the staff have been friendly. The one thing we like about it you can be assured the food is good and cooked well.

We've visited "Heaven Scent" for lunch a few times and it is always excellent so we organised a surprise birthday party in "Heavens Above" for my daughter's 40th birthday. It's great fun for guest to go up through the fridge door to the party rooms. As always the food was great and the service impeccable. We can't thank Margo and her team enough for making it such a special day. They cater for all kinds of diets which is fantastic as we are a real fussy bunch and nothing was too much trouble. If you are planning a family occasion this is a great venue which our family would highly recommend.

My fiancée and I are fairly regular visitors to Heaven Scent when out for a bike ride, and we enjoy the ambience of the place. Our visit today was marred by the blatant overpricing of their banana loaf. We were charged £13.95 for two coffees and two less than half inch thick slices of loaf. When I queried this, I was told that the loaf was classed as a cake and each small slice was therefore £3.95. By my reckoning, the loaf would serve up at least 25 portions and generate almost £100 of revenue for the cafe. That’s just taking the mickey! Whereas it won’t necessarily stop us from visiting the cafe in future, we’ll be careful to ask the price of what we’re ordering beforehand. Beware!

We had a great time when we called in at Heaven Scent. We asked about the afternoon tea, usually this should be booked ahead which we were unaware of. Our lovely waitress went and checked with the manager and we were fortunate enough to be able to have the fabulous afternoon tea. Lovely atmosphere and scrumptious food.

Ordered the salad whilst visiting with a friend. It was a huge plateful with really nice dressings. Getting the choice of pitta bread or oatcakes was a really nice touch. I didn’t manage to finish it as it was really filling with lots of chicken. My friend had one of the special dishes of the day and thought it was excellent. The staff as always were efficient and very friendly.

Visited this place as an alternative to Loch Leven's Larder and we were not disappointed, we had not made a reservation (mistake on our part!) but the staff were very quick to find a table and seat us, Staff were attentive and extremely helpful. Once the food was ordered we had a little wait for the food, which was absolutely fine as it allowed us to soak up the atmosphere. When the food arrived it was piping hot, and definitely value for money. One of our part asked for hot water be added to their drink and instantly a fresh drink was brought out, a step above and beyond.Will definitely be back. Heaven Scent is a little hidden gem.

Looked for somewhere in Fife for a change to meet my friend and decided to book afternoon tea.

Just been to this place this afternoon for the first time what a little gem it is too coffee and scone was excellent and the service was great too thank you

Their outside catering standards always surpass our expectations and the staff are friendly and very attentive

I treated my mum to afternoon tea at Heaven Scent, and it was amazing! There was a great range of options for sandwiches and cakes, and by the time we had worked our way through the sandwiches and scones, we were too full for cake (fortunately the staff were well prepared for this and happy to provide takeaway boxes!) All in all a lovely afternoon out and definitely somewhere we plan to return. Thank you!

I booked Heaven Scent (well, Heaven's Above - one of the private rooms upstairs) for a group booking - an antenatal class reunion. The space we had was wonderful, meaning there were no concerns with all the car seats and baby paraphernalia that we had, and the baby changing facilities were second to none! The food was to die for, especially the carrot cake, and all the staff were very attentive. I'll definitely be back!
