Heat & Soul in Slough

We used heat & soul to cater my mother’s wake. For the most part the food and service was ok, however I would have expected more proactive communication on their part as I had to chase them on various occasions related to the booking process and also on the day in relation to timings as some of the food went out later than expected. There were a couple of dishes that had too much pepper in them (the Chicken soup and coleslaw). As for the dessert, it was a disappointing (Spiced Apple crumble, which was actually Apple and Pecan crumble). We were not told about addition of nuts in the dish until I saw it being served and I saw what I thought was nuts. I asked the server if there were nuts in the dish, he said he didn’t know and was going to ask. As a fellow chef and caterer I find it incomprehensible, for obvious reasons, to put nuts into a dish and not inform us is just plain irresponsible. We didn’t get a chance to try the Apple crumble at the taster session as we were told he didn’t have time to make it. Not only were we not told about the nuts in the dish but the apples weren’t cooked enough and the crumble was burnt in places. We reached out the the caterers after the event to give them feedback and they not respond. This in my opinion shows a complete lack of professionalism.

I booked heat & soul to cater for 80 people for a 60th birthday and they did not disappoint! Incredible food, great communication throughout and they themselves are lovely!

I experienced Heat & Soul's amazing food for the first time when they did a pop-up in my town. It was so good that I went back for a takeaway the following night. The photo is of the Halloumi Burger which I got to takeaway, but honestly the food didn't last long enough for decent photos on either night! My friends had the Jerk Chicken and commented that it was spicy. Both the Halloumi Burger and the King Prawn Burger were awesome. I'd highly recommend.

After having seen friends posting amazing pics online of their food from Heat&Soul and is being foodies ourselves we as a family just had to try it. All I can say is that is did not disappoint. From the succulent BBQ jerk chicken to the massive mouth watering Mac and cheese balls, every bite of the food was out of this world. This carribean food with a twist is really something you don’t want to miss. I was speaking with both business owners Michael and Jade and they are such beautiful people with an obvious passion and love for what they are doing. The food is also priced very fairly and with a forever enhancing menu for choice we can not wait to go back and try other things. Thanks guys, all the best.

We hosted a Cuban themed party last summer and were hunting high and low for a supplier to cater Cuban sandwiches. I reached out to Heat & Soul to see if this is something that they could help with and they were straight up for the challenge. I still dream about their Cuban sandwiches... they were incredible. We've had their food on a few occasions now and it's just something else. The team are always so friendly and clearly so passionate in all they do. I can't wait for more!
