Heads and Tails in Camden

It was an absolute joke of a bar. I arrive on time with a 2-person booking, and they try to seat me at a 1 person table outside. I tell them again we are two people, then wait inside for a place to free up outside. My friend orders a drink as we wait. 25 minutes later, they escort more than 5 people outside! I tell them it is unacceptable and to give us the check which they make me pay!

Not only is the drink selection top-notch, but the atmosphere is also perfect for a relaxed evening to unwind with friends or enjoy a romantic date night.

Special thanks to Luka and the bartender from Bordeaux for making our night special. Even though I’d have preferred the ‘underground’ or ‘Tails’ part of the bar, only the ‘Heads’ was open as it was lovely and sunny, which I certainly can’t complain about. We had an excellent time, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I am utterly appalled by the way me, my partner and our friend were treated last night! After a lovely dinner at a local restaurante we decided to cross the street as the cocktail bar looked really nice. Upon approaching the front door, a man (which I believe is the bouncer) started rudely asking us what were we doing there. (First we were not under the influence of any alcohol or drugs, and I do believe that we were also dressed up to the occasion). After our initial shock we answered politely that we were thinking of having a drink inside to which he laughed and asked if we had a reservation, we apologised that we in fact didn’t book a table but that we could see some empty tables. The man completely ignored us afterwards and just closed the door on us. We did not know how to react and we just left, feeling extremely cross by the entire ordeal! Never again!

Wish this was on my doorstep, our friend Mr Frost recommended this place for a drink or three, wow what a night it was, exceptional cocktails great vibes and atmosphere. Bar staff were exceptional and as for the lads making cocktails. Amazing. Add I said, wish we had this up North. Will be back with Mr Frost next time we are in London. Maybe a little less Gin eh

Visited here with friends on a Friday night, we were lucky enough to get a last minute table. All the staff are unbelievable at their jobs, each knowing the locals and make time to know strangers even when busy. It is a well oiled machine and every member of staff deserves credit. The cocktail mixologists are great to watch & still spare time to chat. Would definitely visit again, just hope I have a reason to be back in the area!

Came here for birthday drinks and had such a brilliant time. The staff were so attentive and made sure the water and wine kept flowing! They were chatty and friendly, the atmosphere was fantastic, toilets clean and I love a bar that is table service. The decor is also to die for. Will be going back for sure.

Me and my friends visited here last Sunday, just for one which ended up being many many more!!! Great little bar with lovely atmosphere!! Staff looked busy but happy ! our waitress was very friendly and knew the menu well! We told her we loved gin and she got us drinking a delicious bright green drink that was sooo lush! Especially when we found out the barman had created it! Felt so cool and we felt special

Having lived in London for the majority of my life it’s the first time I’ve suffered from blatant, in your face, racial discrimination. Disgusted by the place and the staff,

Me and my girlfriend came here for cocktails, we sat in the lovely beer garden and the drinks were great and such a chilled out atmosphere!! Staff are super friendly, especially the bouncer Jonny who, upon arrival, made us feel instantly welcomed. Would definitely recommend!

Brilliant service - waiter was constantly filling up water without us asking and the cocktails were well made. Lively bar with a great ambience to it. We will definitely be returning

I called beforehand to see if my dog is allowed in the garden and was told that 'dogs are actively encouraged to come', so I felt happy enough to bring him. Despite him being an incredibly well behaved cocker spaniel, who didn't bark or bother anyone in the slightest all evening, the officious bar manager complained to me very rudely 3 times because my dog was not lying perfectly still for 3 hours (strange that!) but was sometimes saying hello to my neighbouring tables, who were all delighted to meet him of course! Apparently this contravened a Covid rule about no mingling amongst tables - even though he is a dog who can neither catch nor spread Covid! If dogs are totally unwelcome, as they seem to be here, then you should not be actively encouraging people to bring them. Very disappointing and given the rude behaviour of the manager I certainly will not be returning here again with or without my dog.

Our visit was really disappointing! To start with, social distancing is not done well at all. At the back right outside, there are 4 tiny tables which are approx 30cm apart and they packed 6 people around every one. I was therefore forced to be very close to everyone else in an unsafe manner. The other things to mention are the cocktails are very very small and our server was quite in our face (and also pressured the group to order shots when we did not want to). Overall, wouldn't reccomend visiting.

First time in this evening for a friend's late 50th birthday celebrations. So different from 30 years ago, visiting with old friends from ENO workshops on Broadhurst Gardens. Icy feel and too quiet.Licence time past without any warning whatsoever and then told shorts ok but not pints ! So, may not go back for another 30 years

I’ve never felt so uncomfortable by both bar staff and insecure on a night out, and I used to write for ‘Time Out’ for many years. I will never endeavour to return to one of one of worst bars I’ve attended over the last twenty years of living in London. The staff seem to be eager to ‘head home’ not engage with any member of the public that spend time and money to entertain their friends, and I was literally pushed out by the doorman in such an abrupt fashion that I felt I needed to call the police. I was bulllied for years as a child, and the pack mentality of this establishment reverberated everything that made me feel uncomfortable as a teenager that couldn’t and never wanted to fade aggression. I would never return to this place bar, as it’s clear that they only care about doing their job, and going home, which is lacking in both professionalism and passion for their customers. I feel traumatised and this is not an underestimation of my experience this evening

I cannot recommend this place enough. The decor is gorgeous, the service is impeccable, the drinks are delicious (proper cocktails and every staff member knows their stuff so can always recommend you something) and the food for brunch is some of the best in London....
