The most amazing cafe food!!!! Michelin Star quality and presentation at incredibly reasonable prices. I love to cook at home and am quite able, but the quality of every single element/ingredient of each dish brought to our table, including the fresh apple juices, were beyond what we can produce at home, and this is exactly what we hope to experience when eating out - inspiration and an experience! Three cheers to the excellency in the kitchen, cheerful staff who brought such joy to us in the cosy cafe dining room. Nothing to fault here, will be back, cannot wait, what a gem of a place!!

Disappointing visit when we thought it would be a day out. No fruit except plums to pick, which accordingly to the website should be strawberries, plums and apples at this time of year - this should be more clearly indicated on the website if some are not available depending on time of visit. In regards to the walking trails, the website indicates that there is a ‘longer alternative for the more adventurous’ when in reality it took us about 20 minutes to walk around this trail with a dog, including looking at the campsite…we may have been misinformed but either way this isn’t good. Overall really disappointing visit to say we paid £2.50 to park and left within the hour with no fruit in hand….I’d recommended making your website more realistic to what is there so families do not left feeling disappointed.

Farm shop with a great product range alongside a cafe (Orchard Kitchen). Good selection of meats and narrow selection of fish. Cafe has a decent range of dishes and reasonably priced. Outside eating area too.

This review concerns the Hayles Fruit Farm shop, not the cafe. I've used the latter, but not recently, but it seems to serve its customers decently. The first surprise on arriving was to be asked to pay £2.50 for parking (refundable against a purchase). This seems a bit odd, as the car park is just a hard-core covered standing area and isn't exactly on the way to anywhere. Perhaps it's to deter walkers from parking there, but that would seem to run counter to Winchcombe's otherwise welcoming attitude to them. The farm shop itself is a bit bizarre. There are a few items of fruit and veg and a butcher's counter where the meat did look good, but much of the "produce" is in packets and jars, including the near-ubiquitous £5 bags of crisps. Almost half the shop is turned over to a mix of barbecue hardware, outdoor clothing and a huge display of water bottles of every size and colour under the sun. All a bit odd and not what was expected from a fruit and veg shop.

Absolutely love this place. Hayles Fruit Farm is set in pure and undisturbed Gloucestershire countryside and is a beautiful place to visit and have a peaceful coffee or bite to eat. The cakes (especially the biscoff tiffin) are delicious and very fairly priced for large portions. Good coffee too. The benches outside the cafe overlook part of the fruit farm and we loved watching the swallows fly about around us. The farm shop sells great produce from the farm (we love the apple juice). We will be back and would definitely recommend for anybody visiting or local!

We recently stayed at Hayles Fruit Farm campsite and have to start this review by saying that the camping field itself is beautiful. It is a big, large site, with fresh grass and lots of wildlife around. However, we felt this this was spoilt by all the bins overflowing on the site. We also felt that the facilities were lacking. The portaloo style toilets all smelt bad and the floors were constantly wet. The fly traps in the toilets were also full and unpleasant to look at. The farm shop and cafe is closed on a Monday, which I must have missed when booking, which was a shame as we were looking forward to this. The lock in the gate is fiddly and a bit of a pain when entering/leaving the site. I also think it would be nice if the fire pits were free to use, and just required a deposit, as they have seen better days. Overall a nice area, but the facilities could do with some improvement. Unable to comment on the Farm Shop / Café. I would also say this site is more dog tolerant than friendly.

We're locals and came for a Sunday mooch in the revamped farm shop, with plans to visit the cafe. Firstly, we found this place to be vastly overpriced, we felt just another farm shop trying to cash in on its Cotswolds heritage and grab what they can from visitors from outside the area. £3 for a tea?? The guy behind the meat counter was cheery and helpful, which is what we like. However, it was a different story when we went to the till. A young girl with a pierced septum served us - I use the term 'serve' loosely'. No one else was waiting and it was obvious I was there to pay, but there was no acknowledgment. No eye contact and not one word spoken. Completely disengaged and disinterested. In fact, I thought I'd done something wrong. I had to ask for a receipt and I felt I was asking to borrow a tenner. She reluctantly and silently printed one off and handed it to me. She silently waited, stone faced, while I departed. I had assumed that basic communication skills were a pre-requisite for customer-facing roles, but clearly the world has changed. It's not rocket science and just makes for a more pleasant experience. We skipped the cafe and left, and won't be returning.

We literally stumbled across the sign for Hayles Fruit Farm and cafe on the way to somewhere and we love farm shops so we did a little detour. So glad we did. The cafe is bigger than it appears from the outside. The day we visited it was pouring with rain and dull outside. We were greeted with warmth and the most amazing display of homemade cake. Being dairy free I'm often limited to flapjack with seeds........it's seriously not that hard to bake with something other than butter.......but seeing as dairy free is associated with being vegan (I'm not vegan, I have an intolerance), and being vegan associated with being healthy......the offering is often flapjack. If I wasn't mobility impaired I would have cartwheeled. I had two options ....lemon cake or chocolate marble cake. Well. Let me tell you, I've never had dairy free cake that has tasted so good. If it wasn't the last pieces, I would have bought the lot to take home! It was superbly moist with the most lightly whipped icing. It's probably good for my waistline that I was on holiday and this isn't within reasonable distance of home! Farm shop was also great, we bought some fruit juices and ciders all made on the farm.

The location is lovely and so many birds to sit and watch! My partner and I had the light breakfast with tea and coffee. My partner enjoyed his breakfast but I wasn't so keen I'm afraid. I had the vegetarian option which wasn't the issue. I was so looking forward to this treat as I love an English breakfast but never get one cooked for me. Unfortunately it was served with spicy beans and rocket, both of which in my view have no place on an English breakfast plate! Sadly, my fried eggs were not very soft either. The facilities let the place down too as there was only one toilet in use, the second was blocked with paper. The staff were very nice however the prices, in my opinion are high.

Whilst the cafe is nice and the pumpkin patch was great for the children this place is marketed as a Family day out….with no baby change facilities at all? Really?! Changing a 4 month and toddler on a muddy toilet floor isn’t great or acceptable. One to take into consideration if taking young children and babies.

Stayed here on the camp site on a hard standing pitch. The pitches were well spaced on the open plan field, and had a relaxing atmosphere. Facilities were basic, but clean and adequate. Good cafe and shop on site which was a bonus. We were a bit wary when a large group of teenagers an a field trip turned up, but they were well supervised and were staying in a separate field and we were not disturbed at all. Good walks from site with views of the steam railway. Will definitely visit again.

Arrived here for a 2 night solo stay for a time of R & R. The place was stunningly beautiful, set in the heart of the Cotswolds. As it was term time, it was very quiet and I had lots of choice as to where to pitch my tent. In the summer holidays apparently the site has a much busier, family vibe, being full due to its popularity. Mel the site warden was super friendly and helpful. The team worked really hard to keep the facilities clean. The site was spotless! Thank you. Facilities were basic but spot on. Hot showers, toilets and a hot for washing dishes. On site there is a beautiful fishing lake, and of course a fantastic farm shop and tea room. It's location boasts superb walks and a lovely little church just outside the site. I explored the 2.25 mile walk to Winchcombe. Breath taking. The only constructive feedback I have is pricing. They price on a per person basis. For me as a solo traveller it was very competitive. But to bring my family of 5 could prove more expensive compared to other sites. Overall, thoroughly recommended. I left fully recharged!

Fancied something to do on a day off and after a call to Hayles, when they said the strawberries were good, we decided to come here to pick our own. A delightful place. Strawberries a plenty all at picking height (so no sore backs!). We may have tasted one (or two!) and they are sweet and delicious. Picked 3 punnets. £6.85/kg. They have a fabulous coffee shop with beautiful cakes and savouries, delicious coffee and a lovely menu which delivers breakfast/brunch and lunch. Servicing the nearby campsite no doubt. Staff are young and really friendly. Definitely a place to stop for an hour or so.

Visited the cafe for breakfast on a Saturday morning to find a local cycling club meeting here before setting off. The queue looked daunting but there was a free table so we persevered. Thanks to the efficiency of the staff the queue melted and our breakfast arrived in good time. We ordered American pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and blueberries, eggs royals and a large full English. The pancakes and eggs Royale were reasonably priced but at £13 the full English was a bit expensive. Nevertheless all the food was hot and delicious and served promptly. My tea was made with real tea leaves. The place is very dog friendly inside and out which was one of the reasons we chose this place. After breakfast we took a walk down to the lake and then to Hayles Abbey just down the road.

This is our second visit to the fruit farm campsite with our young family and were very disappointed by the disregard to the general tidiness of the campsite on arrival and the smell in the main toilet block. My children described it as the 'rotten egg block', and these were not the portaloo style ones sat opposite the washing up area, we dared not enter those. Within 2 days the bins were piled high, the toilets were smelly and covered in dirty paper all over the floor, there was a complete lack of general cleanliness! This was prior to the bank holiday weekend. By Friday the site was completely overrun by groups of families drinking into early hours with dogs off leashes barking, sick in the already smelly block (which the warden did go and clean because we complained) and total disregard to the campsite rules which previously made this place a 'Family friendly site'. Apparently these groups of rowdy drunken people are regulars so we will not be looking to return with our young family next year as this is not a family friendly campsite when out youngest is being woken at 11:30 PM with shouts of laughter and dogs barking in unison. Disappointed as could be well improved upon by the management of the campsite as it is lovely a location to catch the GWSR. Sadly we will not be returning next year and will be staying down the road in Broadway for a quiter time. On a positive note the fruit picking is excellent!

Absolutely fantastic! We wanted a relaxation & tranquility to get away from a busy working life..we were not disappointed. We hired a bell tent over the bank holiday weekend & although it was full, it was not noisy at all. Full credit to the family running this farm, Martin & his wife are so friendly & helpful. Thank you Leigh & to her parents too who helped us with our air mattress very lovely family. Toilets & shower was clean. We had a BBQ on the Saturday which was so yummy & had breakfast the following day. Money well spent. The staff at the cafe were all professional & friendly. So much to do at the farm & we are about to go fishing...

? Sin duda volveremos pronto, muy recomendable! ?

Stunning Good Friday midday to sit in the sun and taste their Braeburn apple juice and try the delectable cakes: gluten free carrot cake, lemon curd cake and Victorian sponge. Blossom trees and bees. Easter trail for the kiddies. Tranquil.

Hiking past the farm we needed a break. We asked for two drinks and two scones. The table was dirty and only one scone arrived. Nothing special.

Me and my partner call in here quite often, for coffee or for a meal, we are never disappointed, the coffee is good, the food is great, the waitresses are fantastic hosts and are always attentive, love it there, you can drive up to it, you see lots of walkers or bikers or even dog walkers, dogs welcome by the way, a very must visit

I would never return to this campsite again we were extremely disappointed for a number of reasons, We found one in particular person extremely Arrogant very intimidating And just generally rude, we pitched in what could’ve only been an overflow field which was difficult to get into as the entrance was clearly not big enough, it was on a bit of a steep hill so whilst during our stay we experienced torrential weather which made it very difficult for us to leave the field however when we approached the member of staff in question The response we got was disgraceful clearly had no time and good impression that it wasn’t his problem I will cars skidding all over the place due to the ground was so wet and muddy. I certainly won’t be recommending this campsite to anyone.

Lovely friendly site, at a very reasonable price, with the added advantage of cafe and farm shop. Staff can't do enough to help and we will definitely be back. Only downside is one of the toilet blocks / showers is in desperate need of an update.

A friendly basic campsite in lovely countryside, the only sound to be heard is birds and the distant tooting of the local steam train. Seven of us in three tents for two nights £112 not bad. We were able to camp in a group with others in our party (who paid separately) in their camper van with electric hook up. Open fires are allowed (in a fire pit which can be borrowed from the site), we were glad of a little rain as otherwise in this dry season / heat wave we would not have been allowed a fire. There was plenty of space for play.

We stayed at the camping site for 2 nights which was lovely and peaceful. Downside was that the toilets and sinks weren't cleaned at all during our stay which was a put off and given that there are 5 it's not too much to do.

Stayed at this lovely gem of a site with a large group of family. Two caravan pitches next to each other were requested and delivered. Great staff in the shop and tea room and the warden is lovely too! Nothing is too much trouble and it’s lovely to be greeted every morning with a smile :) it’s a lovely basic site with everything you need. Beautifully peaceful and quiet, and not an inch of light pollution which means stargazing at night is wonderful. Lovely walks and good fishing too. My dad and I had a lovely chat with Mr Harrell, the owner of the farm, who was ever so friendly. We’ve really enjoyed our stay and will 100% be back! Thanks so much :)

Expensive :- "ploughman's" £9.50 doesn't even come with any bread!! Or fruit (eg half an apple even). Dear Hayle's this makes it a salad NOT a Ploughman's. Glass of cider (less than a pint) is £4. The tea tastes of chlorine and was undrinkable.

The décor is a little tired but the food more than makes up for it. Fantastic broad bean & asparagus risotto with fresh parmesan shavings. Good service and lovely view. Will certainly go back for cake next time.

We had a lovely family lunch here on a spring afternoon. There was a brilliant selection of hot meals and also lighter things like baguettes and sandwiches. The homemade cakes were amazing, and everything was incredibly yummy! We also had a table by the window, where we really enjoyed watching the birds come and go from the nearby birdfeeder. The decor in the cafe was slightly dated, but it had a homely feel and everything was so lovely about our experience that this really didn't matter. The staff were all really friendly and attentive.

Found the Old Elm via the Good Beer Guide and rang them to confirm a slot for Sunday lunch. Not a problem with booking and they are also dog friendly too. We tried the Wye Valley HPA when we arrived it was in perfect condition. We had pre ordered our meat choices when we rang and our dinners came in around 10 mins. The food was excellent we had beef and lamb and there was loads together with loads of fresh veg. It was all round superb and great value. We finished off with a couple of puddings that were too superb. We will definitely return and highly recommend.

Booked in for a large family celebration. We had a section of the restaurant to ourselves which was perfect considering the amount of children in our party. All team were happy & helpful. Exceptional customer service, could not be Faulted! Special thanks to Jamie & George for all their help throughout the night with George kindly taking a Family picture for us before we left. Massive Thank you to the Kitchen team for cooking all 23 meals to perfection! All food arrived in a timely mannor, presented well and most importantly Hot and delicious. Highly recommended expessically for large parties. We did provide a Pre order due to us being such a large party, this made the process quick and stress free on the night. We all had a lovely evening and will definitely visit again!
