Havet in Tunbridge Wells

We come here a lot for our dinner and it never fails to surprise us. We usually buy a combo since it's cheaper rather than separately. My mum really loves the pomegranate sauce on the Seasonal salad, she really recommends it. The Sehriyeli rice is amazingly flavoured and I get it every single time I go because it is so great. The layout and scenery of the establishment is very appealing and the music in the background is just lively enough for the mood. It it usually very packed, I can understand why because of the food quality, it's some of the best meat I've ever eaten. Would be useful if there were more than three toilets (counting the disabled toilet) for usage since it can get extremely busy within minutes. Restaurant is sometimes understaffed and the cook that has to multi-task with serving really needs some extra credit. It's getting to the point that the staff recognise us from how often we come. Food is always above expectation and I love the food, especially when I haven't eaten in hours, amazing job! - Lurra

It was cold! We asked to move tables. It was still cold. And I am afraid it did spoil our evening. Food was good. Service was alright.

Food was amazing! Portion sizes were on the smaller side given the price but a lovely restaurant and the staff are lovely too. The only issue would be parking is generally difficult so definitely come earlier to go hunting for spots!

I went with my friends tonight and seemed that we were the last diners and as much I have felt awkward from start, one of my friends almost lost their plot when seemed they were rushing us out. Was our first time and we left saying that was the last. As much Zen did his best to welcome us, he seemed tired and the manager realised that we were right and said to us that starter would be on the house. … Too late because we decided to leave without the main course. Two options: 1• Training the staff properly or 2• Just close down… I am not recommending anyone.. As first time, very disappointed. 😞😔

went here on Christmas Eve and it was pretty busy. It usually gets busy on the weekend because it is so well known .Great food and selection of starters.I recommend the lamb pastry things and any variety of aubergine dip they serve.

Very good food at a reasonable price

Today I ordered boiled rice with tomato sauce And I received only rice, the sauce was not in the rice I'm a customer and I pay but I don't get what I paid for, it's terrible There are enough restaurants where you can eat well and serve you perfectly

Love Havet Tonbridge and looked forward to the TW Havet but sadly was disappointed. When finally our order was taken we had decided to just have a main course as we were so cold. Because of the constant stream of delivery drivers collecting food we were in a very cold windy position with the doors being opened so much. The server suggested we order a starter as our food would take 20-25 minutes, which we did. Our main course eventually arrived after 50 minutes, the food was fine but that like us chilled quickly in the cold wind.

Very poor service and food. Arrived around 12:30 didn't receive our food until 13:15. Other tables that arrived after us were being served. When the food came it was lukewarm, the service was poor. I wouldn't return even if they would pay me to eat there. Not worth spending a penny here.

Very disappointed! I have had meany meals at the Tunbridge wells Havet, and all been great. We went out for lunch on Friday the 15th of December 2023. The bill come to £161 Food was good. Later that evening. We was all throwing up. And on the toilet for 8 hours straight, was at this point it was clear we have got food poisoning/ cross contamination. I have lunched a complaint yet no reply! Not a great service! So if you read this Havet feel free to get back to me. Meany thanks

Got a big order from deliveroo, 2 items of meat didn't turn up out of 12 or so boxes of various items. Called the restaurant and they said its not their fault (I.e. blamed the deliveroo driver). They advised me to contact deliveroo and get a refund. This doesn't help. I ordered the food and paid for the food because I wanted the food. I dont want a refund, I want the food I ordered and paid for. Absolute joke. Over £100 spent on a takeaway with the only two meat items on the order not delivered. So the deliveroo driver went through every box and only took the two meat items? As if that happened. Order a deliveroo once a week and this has never happened. Eaten there before in the restaurant and it was good. Overpriced but good. Never order a takeaway from them, they will rob you blind and leave you disappointed. Manager was useless and unhelpful. 1st person I spoke to was useless and unhelpful. Could hear her asking the kitchen staff about it and the kitchen staff shouting in the background like I was making it up. Do not order food from here! There are plenty of other better options available for a lower price and you actually get the food you paid for without having some kitchen staff shouting when you call to ask where your food is. In hindsight, when someone shouts so loudly and passionately about something like this it's probably an indication they are lying.

Ordered the combo platter which was really tasty, plenty of choice from the bbq grill plus sides, all food really tasty and plentiful.

Absolutely delicious fresh food served by exceptionally helpful and kind staff. Perfect for a lunch catch-up because the acoustics are good and there is plenty of space between the tables. I will definitely come back for an evening to try some of the more unusual and creative dishes

Everything absolutely mouth-watering! The portions are huge, and the flavours are amazing . Do not skip dessert , they're so good !

This is my second visit with colleagues here and thoroughly enjoyed the food both times - would highly recommend. The food was very nice, the service was timely and friendly, although the atmosphere was very quiet, but in mitigation it was mid-week.

We were in Tunbridge Wells on a very wet and windy Thursday afternoon, as we were going to the Theatre that evening, we intended to do some sight seeing but the weather was against us, so we opted for a meal and drink, having used Havet restaurants in the past in a different location we thought we would give Havet Restaurant in Mount Pleasant Road, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1QG a look in, We were so glad we did, we were instantly greeted by the friendly and polite waiter / doorman, who greeted us with a smile and some pleasantry introductions, he asked us where we would like to sit and suggested a comfortable booth, which we were happy to agree too, making a complete relaxed atmosphere he then asked if we would like some drinks while we perused the menu, When the drinks were delivered we had already decided what we were going to eat, so he took the order, and in what I would consider a respectable amount of time, not too quick or too long, the most delicious food was being brought to our table, we went for a combo meal to mix and match what we were both going to have, the food was of the highest quality, and you had to eat slowly because you wanted the experience to last longer, The whole visit / experiences was nothing short of perfect in every way, and certainly made us forget about the weather outside. There was no rushing or pushing for you to order more drinks or food, such a wonderful place. I would highly recommend it if you are in the area and want some delicious food, I would even travel out of my way to go back to Havet in Tunbridge Wells, My personal thanks go to the professional, highly experienced, friendly and polite staff who made the visit even more pleasurable. Always great food and service. Don't miss the baklava. It's sweet and sticky, and oh, so good.

Made for a successful family meal. The good and service were equally good. Slight room for improvement on the Iskender, but was flavoursome. Suggest wrap the meat in tortilla instead of the small cubes of flatbread which were too hard or soggy. Also add the sauce and yoghurt on top of the meat. Each establishment has its own take on this dish. The cold meze was delicious.

We had a wonderful meal with exceptional service from Orhan and his team, including a free starter and dessert as he was so keen to showcase their lovely food. We will return! Highly recommended.

The best Turkish restaurant within Maidstone, Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells. Very good service, polite and efficient. Very easy as well to book via their website. The food was amazing we visited often for the last couple of years and was always tasteful with same consistency. Normally we had the mixed grill platter sides such as pitta bread , hummus, baba ghanoush, salad, rice , chips. The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm and pleasant as you can enjoy family dinners

Food and drink was alright, but incredibly overpriced. The took over an hour to take our order, which then took over an hour to arrive (it wasn't busy), and the waiters were unapologetic. They messed up a few drinks, and one of my friend's meals. Thinking positively, hopefully it was a one-off thing and perhaps a better experience could be had in the future.

Had been a loyal customer of Havet Bromley for years (fantastic) until I moved so this became my local… absolute rubbish. Have been here twice now, really poor atmosphere, service is slow and very poor - young guy just forgot about us. Meat was ok, seems to have lost it’s special way! Bread used to be free and the combos were better/ you’d be able to buy a sharing platter with all different meats to try - here you have to get the combo meal and it’s much more expensive. Asked for Donner to be told there wasn’t any left however, they seemed to be plating up and cutting the donner on the spit… so I asked the waiter… ‘well what’s that there?’ And he said, you don’t want that, it’s the bone…. Made no effort to see if he could get us just a tiny bit. Absolutely will not be returning.

Went there with 6 friends for dinner, the atmosphere was nice and we were greeted promptly on arrival. We were sat down and then not spoken to for 20 minutes. The waiter then took our drinks order and then came over again 5 minutes later as he somehow forgot our order even though he wrote it down. We then waited a further 25 minutes before our drinks arrived. This was the first time we even got water, 45 minutes after we sat down. One of the drinks was also wrong but we didnt mention it as we didnt want to wait another 20 minutes for the right one. The same waiter then took our food order and we had to wait another 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and one of the mains and 2 sides didnt arrive for a further 10 minutes. The food and drinks were nice, cocktails were well presented as was the food. This didnt make up for the shocking service, we wouldnt have minded if someone came over to apologise for the slow service or told us when we sat down that there would be a wait but they were quite unapologetic. We complained afterwards to the manager who took the service and the food that arrived late off the bill but that really didnt make up for the truly tragic service. There were 3 floor staff and at least 2 kitchen staff and there were about 6 other tables there which didnt seem to have the same problems as us. The drinks menu was vast and the food menu was good but that is all irrelevant when you have to wait over an hour and a half after sitting down before you get your food. Worst dining experience I've in tunbridge wells which is a real shame. I work in hospitality myself so I can understand that things like this happen and I know that this was probably a one off disaster. I will be returning at some point in the foreseeable future as the restaurant is quite unique and I want to experience it properly. The staff do need to be more confident and perhaps more training is needed for some?

We had a nice meal in this restaurant years ago so thought we’d treat ourselves to a takeaway last night for a special dinner. It was truly awful. The food was bad quality. They sent the wrong salad. Two items were missing! And still no sign of a refund

Would never go again and would not recommend. The food was awful, tastless and was not authentic in being turkish at all! No salad on plate, no turkish bread and dips given like in all other turkish restaurants. No atmosphere, we were the only people in on a Friday night which speaks volumes. Not a good experience at all

The food is always lovely. It just seems to be one of those noisy places. Staff are always friendly. Food is cooked fresh and really tasty.

I love Havet. The food, the staff, the place. But tonight I was very disappointed. I use my NHS discount and every time the 10 per cent it is off the all bill. Tonight was only 1.99 discount. I asked and the waiter said the discount its only for the person with the card. Strange. I have been here with my family countless times and this is the first time the discount it was only for me. Very disappointed.

Takeaway Not sure this is the right platform… but we paid &48.00 for a takeaway for 3. Food was good. Chicken shish was just chicken. When you dine in… you get bulgar rice and a salad. We got nothing. Disappointed. I suggest someone in management contacts me.

Been here before a few months ago and it was excellent. Went last night and the food was, at best, average and the service v poor. Don’t know If they were short staffed but we were put in a booth and then forgotten about. Expensive for quality of food and the experience.

I have just ordered a take away via Uber eats. I paid £30 for a two combo grill which included chicken Shiah and lamb Adana. I’m really disappointed with how much meat I received. I’ve received gallons of Bulgar wheat 4 chunks/cubes of chicken and sausage size piece of lamb. This came with some complimentary bread. For £30 I think that’s incredibly overpriced I was expecting about double the amount of chicken and lamb than what I got! If I went to any kebab shop although the quality wouldn’t be as good I get so so much more for £30. I do hope you receive this review as I think this is really unfair to do this for a takeaway as their is literally nothing I can do about it.

Couldn't fault Havet re service ,food etc . My only issue is the service charge is automatically added to bill added another 20 pounds . I always leave a tip but it should be my choice what I leave .

Please bear in mind that we went when it was not busy at all, so service was impeccable. Waiters were extremely friendly and attentive, and offered great recommendations. There is an extremely wide variety of food and drink, which come in great portion sizes. The food is excellent, and comes with sides. Not only the food, but the restaurants decor is lovely. I would definitely recommend this to someone.

So me and my boyfriend came here for valentines and the service here was absolutely amazing the staff made sure we had everything we needed in such an efficient and spacious way, now onto the food I had the chicken shish now it was mabey some of the most delicious food I've had really the portions wasn't that great in size but totally made up for it in taste. The only slightly bad thing I would say is that we did have to wait a little long to actually get our food.

Great Turkish restaurant. Careful of the huge portions! (Although staff were kind enough to let us take the uneaten home) Highlights: hummus, the bread, chicken thigh that brings home that charcoal grill flavour.

I love this place, food is always spot on! Always busy on a Fri/ sat eve! But not too busy you can’t get a table! Drinks are bomb! Although can get pricey with the top shelf stuff! Would definitely recommend

Service was excellent, the only issue i had was the desserts were pre prepared and in the fridge , which the ice cream needed to be , but it made the baklava somewhat very difficult to cut and enjoy. Apart from that the experience was perfect and will definitely visit again soon

Nice restaurant, good food but we were told our booking had expired after we had our meal. It was such a shame as we were having such a good time. I've never had a restaurant said that to me but I suppose there is always a first.

Really good people who serve very kindly and pleasantly. Lunch special [ Mon - Fri] is so fabulous in money and taste wise. Even 1yr old baby enjoyed food which is chicken and lamb. Strongly recommend! 👌👍👏💖😘😍🥰🎵🤗

Fantastic food and friendly service!

Had a wonderful lunch with work colleagues. The restaurant was clean and the decor was stylish and created a good ambiance. We were welcomed and seated quickly and menus supplied straight away. We were given a suitable amount of time to choose from the extensive menu and placed our food and drinks order together. The drinks were delivered promptly and the food followed soon after. The meals were all beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. When we were finished, the waiter appeared and we requested the bill. This was delivered shortly after. We never felt pressured or rushed and everything was done efficiently and in a friendly manner. I thoroughly recommend trying this restaurant

Came here for a team lunch with work, staff were friendly and inviting! Food was delicious. I ordered the lamb donner on the £9.95 lunch menu, there was loads of food with a combination of meat, salad and bread on the plate and it was really filling. Staff gave us some yummy dips to go with the food.

My wife and I revisited as it's our favourite restaurant in RTW. Very friendly service and good food.

Absolutely the best Mediterranean restaurant in Tunbridge Wells. Be careful with the size of a portion :) One meat plate can feed two adults. And the taste is so good you will leak your fingers.

One of the best Turkish restaurants I've been to. Our waiter Stamatis was particularly friendly, and helpful with menu choices. Another staff member (male) was also professional and friendly. Recommend the Lamb Doner, Shish, and Kofte. Live 35 minutes drive away, but would definitely make the trip back to try the rest of the menu.

We have been coming here for many years and visit at least 3 times a month. The humus requires a special mention as it is the best I have ever tried. The food, cocktails and service is always first class.

Uber eats experience awful. Missing items. Tiny portions. Uber Eats not refunding correct amount. Uber Eats has no customer service. Restaurant refused to help. Their response was “you are not our customer, you are Uber eats’ customer”. Word for word.

It was great to taste such delicious Turkish delicacies, appetizers and kebab in England. Listening to Turkish music was like cream with honey 👏👏

Don't get takeaway! We eat in this restaurant often but couldn't get a booking (I suspect a walk in would have been ok as it's a big restaurant and is rarely full but we didn't want to get ready on the off chance!) so thought we'd collect. Meat portions were tiny; I paid an extra £2.25 for lamb shish on the 2 combo and got a total of 4 small cubes of lamb! The web ordering was a bit misleading as it allowed me to choose 2 sides with the 2 combo but only one came so we had meat and helim chips! Not particularly healthy or appetising. We won't order takeaway from here again.

Only sat iutside for about 10 minutes, but I have to admit, the smells coming from inside are delicious. Heard a few good reviews.

What a joke I'm 62 years old and complained about a resurant twice in my life and this is the 3rd . So the food was fantastic the service well there was no service . I ordered drinks with the Waiter that never turned up, i ask 3 times for a bottle of water over a 90 minute period ,sat there for 40 minutes with dirty plates on the table to order desert gave up at the end a left so to sum it up food great but service was shocking will I go back NEVER .
