Hatem Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

We had lamb biryani, cheese borek and ali nazik lamb kofte. The staff were very nice and sophisticated, and the food quality was great; Very rich, fresh and full of umami. I’m sure they keep everything clean and safe on high standards, and they should be given food hygiene rating 5. There are so many highest rated restaurants that lack of cleanliness. I’d happily visit here again for special occasions and try different dishes.

This is one of those rare restaurants where you just know that everything is going to be amazing . Hands down the best Restaurant in Newcastle

Lovely fresh cooked authentic food! We tried their breakfast menu and it was great! Lovely flavours from the all the food. Enjoyed the quality of the ingredients used. Tried the mix shawarma wrap again it was full of flavour Witt tender juicy meat! Great service provided with excellent value for money. Would recommend for anyone to drop and try very accommodating place. 5*****

Unbelievable experience at my first visit to Hatem. The best Lebanese cuisine I have ever experienced. Great staff, relaxing venue, and very well worth a visit. Oh and they even give us a free dessert as well.

Absolutely fabulous, been here several times food is delicious (best falafel ever!!) and service is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic and authentic Lebanese food. All of the meats were nicely charcoal grilled. The lamb was delicious, the toum was amazing. And finishing with Arabic coffee and baklava was the business. I will visit again and would highly recommend this place.

First time eating at Hatem Restaurant, and can safely say, as someone who has dined regularly at other Lebanese restaurants in the area, I would place not only the food but also the friendly atmosphere and excellent service well above other places. Such lovely staff who go above and beyond, the portions and quality of the food are unmatched and the vibes of the restaurant are amazing. Would 100% recommend & definitely will be returning soon. I tried many Lebanese restaurants in the north east but I wanted to try somewhere different. Decided to visit Hatem. I honestly can’t recommend the place enough. The prices are reasonable, staff are amazing and the food is lovely. Will definitely be coming here again. If you’re in Newcastle and looking for a good place to eat, look no further 👌

Everything was perfect, the service was really nice and the food was so good and plated really nicely.

Awful food tonight. I think the real chef must have had a day off. Last week the food was lovely. £6.50 for a small feta salad that was drowning in a sharp vinegar dressing. It was inedible, we ate the cheese and threw the rest away, the salad was soggy and awful. Shwarma wrap arrived cold, soggy and very little meat. We've eaten here many times and had a few take aways but this has now put us off. Waste of money as we binned most of it. Such a shame as we really have liked the fresh, hot food in the past.

Food was very tasty - the rice is amazing and very flavourful - I recommend the Mandi. Service speed could be improved but we were a large group. Gave us complimentary baklava too 😋

I tried hatem arabic resturent the lamb mandi was so nice it's like what you see the Arabs eating on tv lamb with all it's goodness it was soft and and The fat was the best bit for me I also tried a desert called kunefi the texture was really nice little crispy sweet and soft it's not the same as Persian food so a recomend you try it if have never had Arab food there service is good and the place is nice inside looks a little classy

We used to go every day but the owner is very rude guy. We spent a lot of money to his place and he never appreciated that. Once we stopped going there his personality change. Respect the customers and money will come. He cares about your pocket not even who you are or where are you from. Rubbish way to run a business

The food was really great. Good portions and presentation. The waiter Muhammad was also a very friendly lad and he made sure we got everything. We were provided a desert at the end on the house and that really warmed up our hearts as a first comer. Will visit again. Thank you.

Good, tasty, delightful, and enjoyable food. Staff was very kind and active. Will visit again for kunafa, which was the king. If the restaurant location is at a quiter road, then it is no less than the best restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne.

It has been pleasant & we were lucky to have a relaxing atmosphere. The food was very nice and hot. We ended up staying for dessert, and even they were outstanding. The staff are very friendly :).

If you desire Middle Eastern food then there’s no better place in Newcastle than Hatem. The food is fresh, high quality and is in large quantity. The staff/owner are very nice hospitable people who will give you things whether you want or not! :) Definitely recommend!

Very nice been here a few times. On the main west gate road opp a Turkish restaurant called Pinar. Friendly service and food that is beautifully presented and tasty. Great middle eastern desserts too. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere. Parking on the roadside.

Everything was absolutely spot on especially the waiter.

I just came back from this restaurant and was incredibly disappointed. The batata hara was raw and the musaka was served as if it was a lamb curry on a sizzler plate even though it should be layered with ground meat, veggies, cream sauce and cheese. we even told the waiter that it wasn't a musaka and even showed him a photo of a musaka that they posted on their Instagram then he processed to show the cheif it which he responded with that he had no idea about the musaka being served like that. We ordered a mixed grill which was served with extremely small lamb chops, dry chicken and over spiced lamb kebab. Overall we had a very bad experience and will not be returning.

Came here for the second time and both time had an excellent friendly service. Good price/quality food, we shared a mix grill for 2 and was more than enough.

The waiter was the best, the dining area is very nice as well, the muhalabia is so delicious. The sandwich can be better, with more fresh veggies and sauces. It would be best if the bread is softer like Saj bread or naan bread. Again many thanks for the nice hospitality.

Amazing food, everything was cooked perfectly, full of flavours, the grill, the tea, the shwarmas. Also loved the environment. Delicious food in a warm atmosphere. We ordered the mixed grill and it didn't disappoint. Lovely large portion of tender lamb, chicken and adana. Staff were very friendly. They were courteous and very attentiive. Mohammed really looked after us.

We've been looking at this restaurant for a while as we shop nearby so finally decided to try it out. Wow!! First impression was amazing and sooo clean! When we sat, a lovely lad came to give us the menus. So polite and attentive! The restaurant is very cosy as well. We waited for the food but not too long as it was freshly prepared right there in front of us. Well worth of waiting! I had chicken shish and partner had whole baby chicken. I had rice, he had chips. Perfectly made, all of it! Then we had some tea on the house: mint tea with cinnamon and bergamot I think! Delicious and it goes so well after the food! We will be back again
