Regular visitor to Hassan's between 2017 and 2022. Still visit whenever in Oxford. Simply outstanding. Friendly, efficient service and good quality food.

Loved the friendly waitstaff. Overall the food was wonderful...The doner is worth trying for sure...And for some reason the New York Nachos really hit the spot. Skip the sticky chicken wings. Burgers were enjoyed by my two teenage daughters...Might have been simply a yearning for American food, but they ate all of their own massive burgers.

Worst tasting kebab I’ve ever had. Meat tastes like rubber sauce is oily. The best thing about it is walking passed. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!!

As usual, I wanted to see the display of the cash machine before tapping my card to pay. The owner immediately freaked out that this is an outrageous request and even got loud. The food was good, but this was my first and last time at Hassan's.

I love this place. This is in my opinion the best fast food you can get in Oxford. They are very reasonably priced and offer large portions. The que can sometimes get quite long. That of course is a sign of how good this place is. Bring cash since it is sometimes hard to pay with card due to the signal. I always get the mixed kebab with fries along with spicy sauce and garlic sauce. Absolutely wonderful.

First the positives. Big portions, reasonable price, friendly staff, veg very fresh, good chili sauce. So that should pretty much wrap up a 5 star rating right?? Wrong! Ordered a chicken kebab and the chicken is pre-cooked then they slap it on the grill for about 20 secs, chop it up and stuff it onto a barely warmed pita. Chicken is tender but you can tell it’s recooked and very little flavour. After all the brilliant reviews I just feel let down! The menu seems to be all about chips. Maybe they are good, my chicken kebab....NOPE!

Clapped. Everyone in Oxford raves about Hassans, but its disgusting. Slimy meat dashed on a pitta with a pile of lettuce and nothing else. Ngl I still ate the whole thing because I was piss drunk. Giving this 4 stars because It still filled me up and tbh the Oxford kebab bar is pretty low. I went to some other kebab Van around the corner and got a chicken shish. Bossman got some plain chicken covered it in burger sauce and then chucked it on the burger grill so compared to that Hassans is doing bits. People were actually going nuts for this. you Oxford lot need to come East London and see what a real kebab is.

excellent kebab van with friendly staff. the best order is either chips, cheese and gravy, or the falafel, salad and hummus naan (with sweet chilli sauce). easy and cheap option for a fairly nutritious meal. no problems at all. every other kebab van wishes they were hassans.

I love Hassan's. I don't even go to any other kebab van. My standard order is a falafel hummus wrap, occasionally without the hummus, for £3.50 with hummus and £3 without. It is, quite seriously, the best falafel hummus wrap I have ever eaten, and way, way better than the 'falafel house' in Gloucester Green. Freshly fried falafels with a crisp exterior, soft crumbly insides, creamy smooth hummus, crunchy and juicy cucumbers and tomatoes, crisp lettuce, refreshing coleslaw, and any sauces you want, all wrapped up in a fresh, slightly toasty wrap. There's always a queue, and for good reason. Hassan and the guys at the stall are also super friendly regardless how busy it gets or what time of day it is.

I don't normally eat at food vans in Oxford but I have always been curious about Hassan's as there is often a crowd of happy people either eating or queuing for food. Immaculately clean,super friendly staff and a excellently cooked food which won't give you the squits unlike some of the horrors on wheels that are to be found around the city centre. I get it now why people rate this place so highly, do yourself a favour if you want something decent to eat late night and stroll up Broad Street.

A night out is incomplete without Hassan's - Oxford's absolute best chippy and kebab truck. A wide variety of sauces, which can be rather confusing when you're drunk, but delicious nonetheless. Would personally recommend the chips with cheese with ketchup, a bit of hot sauce, and garlic mayo - stellar combination, sober or drunk! What's more Mr. Hassan & co have always got me smiling, and the queue is a great place for drunk bants.

Snuck in a snack at Hassan's Kebabs truck one night...before my Oxford daughter said to avoid that place due to food poisonings. Had lamb wrap without incident. The pita was really light and fluffy, nicely different from the thicker breadier ones that I'm used to in Canada. The lamb was sliced from the donair style rotisserie and grilled on the flat top (probably why I was ok), and it was kicked up by a splash of chili oil. All the usual veg and none of that sickly sweet sauce of Canadian donairs. It was quite delicious. For 2.90, I'd get that again.

The Doner kebab wraps were the best, it was the highlight of my night for about 4 weeks, it was the absolute best and Hassan was such a nice guy. I still dream of having the food to this day. Can't wait to go back someday.

went to this place because of the reviews. Kebab was dry, pita fell apart so that i practically wore it when eating, and the taste was basically bland.

By far the best kebab in oxford, very digestible but would not recommend before a long car journey. Cheese chips looked good but i dropped the whole thing on my friend before having the chance to try them. Staff was understanding and helped me clean up!!!

I have lived in Oxford for 20+ years and only recently tore myself away from McCoys to visit Hassans. Really good food, not too many options on the menu so everything is done really well. Good local kebab van, and so reasonably priced.

Yep, quintessential Oxford experience - after hitting a university pub, go to Hassan's for some chips and curry. Got chips with hummus and some garlic sauce - piping hot and delicious! Definitely revisiting.

There's an ad at the top of this post telling me that an Uber out to Hassan's would cost me £60 - £80 from where I am now, and I'd say it's almost worth it!

Visited on way home after many beers .... The kebabs are all fresh although would prefer a freshly cooked nann but after beer who really notices . still hot and filling is all that is needed ! Good value

Got the falafel wrap and it was WELL GOOD. I may or may not have been ever so slightly inebriated... But nevertheless - Hassan's falafel wrap was both tasty and filling and a total BARGAIN (£3 I think?)

I have been coming to Hassan's for well over a year and they are consistently awesome. Incredibly friendly, efficient, and quick service with food you just can't beat. Best end to a night out. (Oh and Ali is a babe).

Classic. I'm a hipster, ironic and bearded. It's amusing to me, reviewing this like it's not a kebab van - but the chips are fried potatoes and they do gravy too. I'm not working class, but like to eat such food. When I leave Oxford, I'll work in an open plan office, leading a life of quiet desperation. But Hassans, it's a legend. Good days, I think.

Falafel wrap was excellent as well as a great deal - Only £2.50 for a rather large wrap! Their sauces were very flavorful, and the vegetables in the salad were extremely fresh.

Hassan's kebab van is, without a doubt, one of the highlights of the Oxford culinary scene. The chips with chicken strips are a particular favourite, with the chicken burger coming a close second. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The food is incredible, the staff are lovely, and all in a convenient location in the centre of Oxford. Hassan's should definitely be ranked higher, the chicken strips (especially in a wrap) is a masterpiece. In fact, as a regular customer, I have sampled almost all of their dishes, and cannot think of a disappointing experience.

My daughter in law and I loved Hassan's! We saw lots of people buying food and several Oxford Students gave it a big thumbs up. Hassan was helpful with our order and very friendly and nice. Add fresh well prepared hearty food and you have a winner. Mmm

Came by one evening after work waited for my turn to order only to be given a look of distaste from someone who had no interest in serving me. Whilst i was trying to order he then bypassed me going to the next. I decided to pass and haven't considered going back.

When its 1:00 in the morning, you've had a few and are staggering back from the pub/club/whatever....no night is complete without a Hassan's. An Oxford classic, and deservedly so.

Just been to a concert to see my hero Ralph mctell and expected no greater pleasure that evening!could not believe how wonderful my kebab was my husband said it fouldnt be that i was still on a high from the concert. Only now does he believe me that this was byFAR not just the best kebab mina was lamb but just in a different league of any kebab meals. Quite simply, Hassan's provides the best evening meal in oxford. So far I have been there 10 times and chosen something different every time. Yet every time, two things have been constant: the quality of food and the quality of service. 10/10 for me, no room for improvement. <3

It was so delicious. We got to Oxford on Sunday night and it was a great steal with perfectly seasoned meat. Not too spicy and not too bland.

Sprawnie, świeżo przygotowane, całkiem dobre. Warunki pracy nie są zbyt sterylne, ale wysoka temperatura ma swoje działanie. Powrót z pubu i szybka przekąska, jak znalazł.

I don't remember visiting Hassan's Kebab Van, as it was my birthday and I had therefore spent the day at various fine drinking establishments consuming fermented vegetable drinks. My girlfriend, however, informs me that I bought a chicken kebab from Hassan's on the way home. Apparently, I then proceeded to eat it before breaking town in tears at how nice a kebab I thought it was. Recommended.

Picture the scene; staggering back from yet another failed sortie into the sexual battleground of some godforsaken nightclub, head hanging down, feet dragging slowly along the floor as it swings violently from side to side. Looming ahead is this refuge, this last bastion of hope, the one thing that can make this night worthwhile. In reality your whole night has been leading up to this moment. You stand in the queue, desperately glancing at your phone; 02:50 - will there still be chicken? What seems like hours later you finally arrive and select your order and, lo and behold, it is better than you could have possibly imagined. Succulent chicken packed with Middle Eastern flavour, crisp salad, soft tortilla wrap and beautifully garlicky mayonnaise (which you won't regret until the claggy mouth the next morning). This is a dining experience like no other, transcending the utility of food as sustenance and bringing it to a higher plane altogether. It becomes a barrier against the crushing loneliness that is your life stretching out in front of you. I don't need love, for I have Hassan. And he will never let me down.

The best Kebab van in Oxford, period. Though partisan loyalties might force others to go elsewhere most will probably admit that Hassan's is objectively the best :-) Delicious kebabs, great cheesy chips, good crisp salads, and all very sensibly priced.

I won't lie if I tell you that most of the non-college-dining-hall food I had in Oxford was from Hassan. Delicious meat, very rich variety of sauces. I really miss it!

I am not really a kabab van frequenter, but in my student years I sampled a few, and this was definitely the best -- and probably the only one I'd consider going back to now. Personally I'm not a kebaber, I'd go for falafel, or they even do baked potatoes with salads or sauces like bolognese as a healthy supper.Oh and the guys themselves are great fun, and almost too good at remembering the regulars ^^

First tried this kebab van after a nightclub with my friends. The food was really tasty and to make sure our taste buds were not being tricked by the alcohol we had to visit again. Thankfully we were not disappoint, good food and the staff are up for a laugh, would visit again.

They completely fail to flinch at the most bizarre requests. You can't beat chips, cheese and gravy with doner meat and extra hot chili sauce.

We are a family of 5 and we paid less than £20 for very tasty falafel and nice kebabs!! Will visit again for sure!

We got out of a play at 10:30 pm and were starving, but so many places had closed. Luckily we stumbled upon this cool food truck. Well, not exactly stumbled upon .... I saw that this was ranked the #4 restaurant in Oxford. I'll not quibble with that ranking. I got a falafel salad wrap and it was tasty, fresh and inexpensive. The wrap, a water and a Fanta cost just under £5. Great deal. I'd definitely go back.

I confess when I saw a kebab van as No. 4 in the list of Oxford restaurants on Trip Advisor I thought this might well be a case of student literary flashmob! However I got caught out late one night, a little too hungry to get home and I remembered that Hassan's was on Broad St and would save me from one of the chains on Cornmarket. I thought I'd check it out.In order to do a review of a kebab you have to start with a lamb donor really don't you? So that's where I started. They were not at all stingy with the meat piling it high and as much salad as I wished. The garlic sauce was welcome but the homemade chilli sauce was just what I was after. It isn't at all expensive and will cost you less than a happy meal which wouldn't make you very happy anyway!I was seriously hungry and I couldn't finish it, I actually stopped and thought that for once this was a kebab I'd be happy to eat next morning. And I did, and it was!

5* kebabs and the guys that work there are great!! Not a massive fan of kebabs from anywhere else but Hassan's and will be back soon :)

For a few years I have watched Hassan's pushed up the TripAdvisor rankings. You can tell when it is freshers week - it always seems to get to No.1. No. 1? For a kebab van? A student prank, no doubt. But no, the reviewers are serious; this is good fare they say. So, obviously this is for people that have consumed too much liquor and just need some grease, surely? So, after a long long wait I finally found myself in Oxford after 6pm (it doesn't open till then). I ordered a mixed kebab roll. And guess what? All those drunken students are right. This is seriously good food. I will return.

I'm a big fan of the turkish as well as the indian kitchen. These guys manage to combine into a kebab with classic turkish meat and the chicken marinated indian style. The first night I put too much spice and peppermint sauce so I ruined it. Next night I left it away and it was really great. Nice people and good prices. One of the greatest drunken night snacks I ever had.

The only kebab van in Oxford where you get not a chip butty, but a chip *baguette*. I was a student at St Hilda's but I'd always walk past the kebab vans on the High Street to get to Hassan's.

A great selection of late night food options, at reasonable prices from an impeccably clean van.I went for a regular lamb kebab with chilli and garlic sauces and all the salads. Great value and with most of your five portions of fruit and vegetables included! Kebab connoisseurs might find reasons to prefer the chilli sauce from another vendor, or might prefer a naan over the simple pitta used here, but overall Hassan's kebab is a very acceptable offering.Hassan himself is the best thing about the place. He is the friendly face of this business, dealing with all comers. The pale intellectual surfacing briefly from the library for whom a bit of banter with Hassan might be one of the day's social highlights. The braying Oxford stereotype flinging insults at anyone in earshot. The near-comatose drunk too far gone to read the menu or state their order coherently. Hassan deals with them all while remaining friendly processing customers efficiently. He ought to be lecturing on customer service at the Saïd Business School as a day job.And what impressed me most of all, when rolling up late at night after post-Gaudy drinks, was to be greeted like a long-lost brother. "My friend! it must have been nearly fifteen years!" Only fourteen actually Hassan, but impressive nonetheless!

After a night out I was craving cheesy chips. Many vans serve this, but nothing compares to hassans....they wre friendly, provided fast service and we're conveniently located. Someone ahead got cheesy Chips and the cheese was cold. I requested hot cheese and it was immediately delivered. This place is a you ask you get service. I couldn't fault it. The staff are willing to help with whatever you want. Sober or drunk it's a must. Xxx
