Harvester Old Castle Salisbury in Wiltshire

We waited quite a long time to be served, We had the scampi and Simply chicken. Neither of us enjoyed our meals, they were bland and flavourless and very small portions, it has put us off of ever returning to a Harvester restaurant.

Another great experience having a breakfast here. The food is great and the service is even better, was looked after very well by Tracey and Tasha who are so friendly and helpful.

Our server Chelsea was fantastic. Friendly, helpful, cheery and professional. Nothing was too much trouble.

Good food, friendly atmosphere and excellent waiter service. Special mention to Yasmin who went above and beyond and served with a smile.

Fantastic atmosphere. Service by Emily and Tracey was outstanding and very friendly from the start. Food was impeccable and they were very knowledgeable about GF needs. They were a credit to the Harvester family. 👌🏻

Lovely atmosphere but at lunchtime on a Sunday can someone explain how they can run out of milk. No hot drinks unless you fancy a black coffee or tea. Food warm but in fairness good overall

A terrible experience! I don't recommend this place to anyone. The service is slow and the food is disappointing. The price of the dishes is too high compared to the quality of the products: the quality does not exist.

Yasmin who was our waitress for the evening was very helpful whenever we had a query about the menu! Top quality service. The food was very good quality with lots of flavour!

We have never been here before, we drove from Oxford to the new forest and ended up here for dinner. The food was lovely, the pub was lovely and clean and our Waitress Chelsea was an absolute star, she made our visit, she was attentive and very funny. Would 100% recommend.

Restaurant was farely busy , orders taken quickly , salad bowls given unfortunately most of the salad bar was empty & what was left looked tired & unedible, bread rolls were still defrosting soggy on the top & very cold , starters arrived without problem mains were very late & not the best when they arrived we found out from listening to conversations that the fire alarm had gone off earlier in the Evening before our booking understandably this ad caused problems , were this explained when we arrived we would have had more of an invite as too any delays , we were offered deserts at no cost to us because of this .

Went as part of a group of 7. Service was diabolical, sat down at 6.10 and didn't collect the bill until 9.00 because service had been so slow, and we had only ordered mains and desserts. The food was horrendous, barely warm and even the baked potato's were so overcooked they were hard and inedible. How can a reputable restaurant not even cook a basic jacket potato correctly???? This used to be a nice site, but quality of food and service has decreased rapidly.

We came as a table of 4! Food was delicious nice and hot credit to the chefs. Our server Ellie was friendly efficient and enjoyed having a good conversation with her.

vikki our waitress was impeccable i cannot thank her enough for being so polite and friendly considering there was absolutely nothing we wanted from the menu… as there was a shortage (apparently) unfortunately the food we did order was mediocre at best… the waitress did get us a 50% discount …. 5 stars for vikki .. 0 stars for harvester.. will possibly try again another day if better i will change my review..

Amazing services , very friendly workers and a lovely environment. Would highly recommend for just a trip out with the spouse, or even with the family.

We went for a New Year’s meal and the chicken was pink. They taken off my chicken on the bill but two other people that have the chicken on my table had three poison.

Service was struggling to keep up. A pre booked 3 course meal took 3 hours from arrival to paying the bill with the main course being served 2 hours after arriving and was badly over cooked

Very cozy and a bit rustic in terms of ambience. Friendly staff and good taste.

We arrived for breakfast and were greeted warmly we were left for a little while before they took our order but they were busy, ordered our drinks one being a latte however both our drinks were in very small mugs, we ordered pancakes and waffles with bacon and maple syrup however the waffle was like eating neat sugar.

Last minute breakfast, I had the unlimited at £10.99 excluding a drink. I opted for unlimited filtered Lavazza coffee. Breakfast took a while to arrive but it was cooked fresh to order. 3 sausages, bacon, beans, 2 eggs. Toast etc, but had to ask for jam as extra. Really enjoyable cooked breakfast, slightly on the dear side but was great.

Tracey our server was amazing she made sure everything was perfect for our visit for breakfast with santa.

We visited recently for dinner for my son's birthday and our server Chelsea went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble - including bringing out his birthday cake and singing! Thanks again!

Fantastic staff, especially Chelsea. She was really kind and we had a really good time with her, nothing was too much trouble. We hope she'll be here when we come again. Food very hot and no waiting around, was so stuffed we couldn't manage a pudding. The Christmas lunch was delicious and we were told straight away that there was no turkey but plenty of the chicken rotisserie which is what we had - lovely. Thank you very very much Chelsea.

Food was good, service when actually being served was fine but pretty empty and sat waiting and waiting, couldn't make use of unlimited drinks and had to search out staff to pay bill...who were all stood chatting together.

After sitting down at 12.30 with drink we were still waiting at 2.30 for our Christmas menu food !! Our waitress Georga was very polite & trying her best to please us , not her fault for the long wait & several table got up & left , so getting quite annoyed with her for long delay. It's impossible for her to serve tables if food not ready !!! I think the manager should at least show their face and apologise foe such a unacceptable delay 😕 not leave staff to take the flack . When the food arrived it was fine but we had nearly gone past eating ! Do I want to return 🤔 not sure I would not wait next time. I'd like an apology from manager !! Brenda H

Our waitress Chelsea was exceptionally friendly and helpful. She found us a table that best suited our young family and was fully of happy energy. I got the honey glazed rack of ribs and wish I had gone for the BBQ as it didn't have the same flavour. Quiet for a Monday but that is to be expected.

Main meal of fish and chips really nice. However not being able to go to the salad bar not good, given a roll without a plate, not good. Not being able to have a brandyWhere do I begin. Some weeks ago I made a group booking. I visited the site and paid the deposit and gave the preorder. This was for 17. I revisited a couple of times to change things. I was told an area would be allocated and extra table and chairs as required. Our time 7.15pm. I tried phoning a few times no one ever answered or got back to me. Our visit was to celebrate a 70th birthday and 20th anniversary. Allocated area had diners still, no extra table or chairs!! We had to sit in another area which was more open and left us with a them and us situation. Ruined!!! I was so very upset and absolutely furious. The whole evening spoilt by your lack of organisation and communication with one person to another. I wasn't even offered a small discount for the inconvenience and upset. This is the 2nd time you've ruined a celebration for me. and coke not good. I know covid has a lot to answer for but I'm sure there are ways around some of my not goods.

Table booked for 11am 24/11/24. Was on time and then left waiting to be seated. Eventually a man came and seated us and mumbled something about allergies as he walked away from us to get our menus. We were then passed our menus and left for 15 mins without any further acknowledgment. Tried to get staffs attention without success so decided to leave. Walked passed two staff members on the way out of which neither chose to acknowledge. Poorly managed and staffed. People arrived after us and were served before.

Chelsea was bloody brilliant. She was personable professional. Good at her job. She is a credit to your Team.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my dinner with my family at this place . Strongly recommended

Easy to get to and park, great front of house. So so breakfast. Nice sausages, cold beans, cold bacon and I guess someone decided I should only be given 1 of the 2 flat mushrooms. Not bad, is good value.

My coffee I was held by the top from where I was to dink from, bar service very slow. The problem is not the staff but senior management bent on saving pennies . Not training staff. Probably not paying enough and basically falling down on their jobs. So much so not one senior manager will read this and NOTHING will be done. Ball is in your court.

Had a really bad experience here! Other customers had just complained their food was over cooked and refused to pay! Firstly the service was awful although very quiet! I had to keep getting up asking for bowls glasses etc! Had run out of milk!!! At 5pm so no coffee! Food over cooked and certainly not cheap anymore! Would not return and would give 0 stars if I could!

First time visiting Old Castle Harvester in Salisbury. Chelsea the waitress was amazing, very friendly and gave good advice on choices. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Very disappointed was no chips with the food. Prefer fish and chips and ribs so my son is sat here just eating a fish! No point in ringing as it will take ages for chips to arrive and the food will be cold! Missing a salad which I paid for. Don’t read the notes on the order

A great atmosphere, and fantastic staff. The food was average, which was a little disappointing, but other than that, it was good.

I ordered a Family Sharer for 2 but it was missing corn bread, one chips, chicken gravy and chicken fries - hardly a substantial meal for 2 as was just a bit of rotisserie chicken, a few chips and 5 wings!!!

There was 9 of us sat at the table. The waitress was very good and attentive. All the orders went in and a long long time later after asking, the meals wea delivered, speaking for myself I had serf and turf the steak was burnt and cold chips 🍟 was all small bits and the chicken was dry. Being in the business for some years I would guess that the kitchen didn't keep the plate's of food hot, others on the table also complained to the manager. NEVER AGAIN

On arrival told that there would be a one to one and a half hour wait for food.

as a trucker I found this place by accident but it was ideal as there is a layby opposite for my 44 ton lorry to be parked safe over night I was made to feel very welcome and the staff were clearly a good match as you can see they are all friends big shout out to Danny behind the who clearly has no off button when it comes to work the viking trucker
