Both ordered steak medium rare. One was perfect and the other was rare and not able to consume

Me and my friend starting coming here after the 1st few visits as it has lovely garden area but unfortunately this Monday just gone i never like complaining but me and my friend did as the food was so awful and the staff did not want to offer any thing else after waiting an hour and half so they just gave us hour money back so had to go elsewhere

absolutely terrible food and service. we ordered 3.salads all of which came with little to no dressing, the halloumi was terrible it tasted like it was sitting out all day way too much salt on it and overall a terrible meal. We waited over an hour for our meals and we didn’t get our water refilled u til our meals came out. very disappointed with our meals the waitress didnt even ask us how our meals were. 0/10

Absolutely fabulous! Both women who greeted us and then served us were absolutely brilliant. Very polite, wonderful service. We were there Saturday around 7 pm. Very clean tables! Awesome food. We'll definitely be returning to this Harvester! (Parking was free, but spaces were a bit scarce, probably because they're great!)

Nothing was great. Service was absolutely shocking out server "Keiran" had absolutely nothing about him. No conversation no rapport nothingHe mumbles everything he said so I hardly understood a word he said . After serving out food we literally didn't exist to him, no check back until we had all finished our food. He then approached us to ask if we had finished and the proceeded to tell us he would clear our table once he had served another customer, 5 or so mins later no return. Eventually returned with menus for Desserts and cleared HALF of our plates! TEN minutes later and after I had watched him clear other tables, serve other customers and was in the process of cleaning another table I had to call him over to finally order our childrens desserts and ask for him to finally clear our plates. They ordered a brownie and we paid the bill a few minutes later whilst waiting for those desserts to arrive. He disappeared of the face of the earth, I literally wouldn't know how long after we left those desserts turned up or even if they had done so but a brownie doesn't take that long to ping!! Food that we got wasn't bad nothing to fault really but the absolute lack of service was shambolic . Maybe your server would be better suited to another job maybe one that's as far away from your customers as possible.

A decent Harvesters and just renovated, so nice inside and out. Good food at a reasobale price and excellent service.

Second time we have been to this restaurant and both times the service is exceptionally slow after ordering. The salad bar appears to have been forgotten to be topped up or people have just been filling up while waiting for the main meals.

Was quite busy and could only get an outside table . Food was ok … my chips were getting cold by the time I started eating them . Think they were a little understaffed . We enjoyed eating outside tho .

Had a meal out with family to celebrate my grandsons 16th birthday. Food was good but the lighting inside is pretty poor. Me and my husband couldn't read the menu because of poor lighting.

Harvester Salisbury, 22 July 2024. Our party was not told on arrival that it would take an hour and a half to get the food. I spoke to the manager, who promised times, both deadlines missed. When the food arrived 2 of the meals were inedible, jacket potatoes cooked to a cinder on the outside and black and to a mush on the inside. Other elements of the other meals were not to an acceptable standard. I asked to speak to the manager again and was presented with a completely different person, he told me the first person l spoke to was a shift supervisor. I specifically asked the first person if he was the manager and he said he was. I asked both alleged managers, would you eat this, they both said they wouldn't. A fifteenth birthday dinner ruined. The manager, or shift supervisor or whoever they were said, our bill would be waived, compensation would have been more appropriate. Needless to say, that will be our last visit to our local Harvester.

Good was nice but really slow. Starters turned up before drinks, we had to chase salad bowls and then go up to the bar to ask for the dessert. Friendly staff, but clearly not enough of them. Building was a bit tired and grubby. Needs a refurb.

Great place, service fast, well stocked salad bar. My allergies were well catered for, the staff were very helpful and took the time to check menus and speak to the chef and Manager. I didn't feel under pressure to order quickly. Would highly recommend.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Accomadeted my allergies with no problem. I had my 16 month old grandson with me, and they were great with him too.

We stopped here for lunch on our way home from Salisbury, the food was great and the staff were all friendly and polite but we did have to ask for our salad bowls and waited around half an hour for our mains to be cleared from the table. I think our server was a trainee so not a complaint, everyone has to learn, just an observation. We would go back though 👍🏼

Very poor service today! When meal arrived I asked waiter if we could have some cutlery ( as none on our table ) also asked for mayo. After waiting 10 mins or longer I grabbed some from another table! After finishing our main still no cutlery or mayo! Also state of tables around us not cleared.

Went early for breakfast took time to come out but was nice and cheap and got a lot for your money

Really nice place with a nice beer garden plenty of free parking, nice bar area which you can eat in, and a large restaurant area. The food is really nice with decent size portions at a reasonable price so come hungry, the meet and great staff are very efficient as are the waiters and the bar staff, enjoyed my visit well done

Really lovely to see Tracy’s smiley face back at the Harvester, one of our favourite waitresses. Breakfast was cooked really well, pleasant service and clean restaurant.

Super place for dinner, great choices on the menu. Super attentive and discreet staff Brilliant food, which includes a refillable salad bowl. So good we returned a second night for dinner. I'd recommend visiting here, but it's advisable to book a table. Thank you 😁👍

We would like to thank our waiter Theo for looking after us this evening He was very polite and nothing was to much trouble, he even provided us with a take out box so our daughter could finish her meal later instead of wasting the food He made us feel very welcome seeing we were from out of town and chatted about local racing that was near by which we were interested in Thanks Theo

Kieran was a wonderful server today, food was good but other people making noise about the football (that we were trying to escape) weren’t so forgiving of other people.

Went for a meal on a Tuesday evening, we didn't book but thought it wouldn't be hard to get a table. 2 servers walked past the main service desk and said someone would be with us shortly. We did get a table eventually and had a lovely meal, service was pretty slow but didn't look massively busy. The food was tasty and we left full. Our server was attentive and friendly.

Car park, great food, tables outside which are pet friendly. Takeaway available.

Stopped for breakfast on a busy father's day. Even though they were fully booked, we were able to sit outside and they couldn't be friendlier, very accommodating.

So 4 of us ( 2 adults and 2 kids, 2 and 4) visited for a late breakfast/brunch on a Sunday at about 11 am. Boy were we let down. First, if you can’t cook a reasonable (note reasonable, not exceptional) poached egg, don’t advertise it as being an option on the menu. You’re setting yourself up for a fail. Second, no one should wait an hour to get their food, without so much as a cursory check in to update us. Sunday lunchtime is busy but that should never be an excuse for bad service, ever. Our waiter was young so I don’t blame her for this, but soon after ordering we were told that, and I’m quoting ‘the kitchen says there’s no kids sausages……I don’t know what they want me to do with that’. No instructions given to her when you send her back out? Staff were average, managers too. There was a male manager, late 30s early 40s, who seems like he didn’t want to be there. I observed he was like that with several other patrons. It’s Sunday lunchtime, mate, and you’re supposed to be representing the restaurant. Do better Harvester Old Castle. We’d rather make the journey to Amesbury for a Harvester going forward.

Great atmosphere salad cart fully stocked only thing that was unusual was the wait for our food. They were short staffed when we visited so everything was taking longer. It was worth the wait!

Place was less than half full. Took over an hour to get food, and it had clearly been hanging around some time as it was only warm and quite dry. Yes we did express our disappointment at the time. Would not return.

Ordered a drink "cheesey" garlic bread and a chicken burger, drink didn't arrive for 25 minutes because they "didn't see my order until they started to make the food", Cheesey garlic bread had next to no cheese and was dripping in oil with no garlic taste. Burger arrived after 45 minutes and was black and the only flavour was burnt char. Couldn't finish either. Pretty disappointing

Very Slow service. Food was barely edible but we ate because we had already been waiting an hour and couldn't wait any longer.

The food was amazing as always and didn't take long for it to arrive once we'd ordered. Our waitress Chelsea was so helpful and friendly even though it was really busy. She is a credit to the Harvester team.

Was invited with my friends for lunch. Apprehensive as last time I was in a harvester it wasn’t the best experience. However. This time the food was great and our server “Theo” was extra helpful. Will be back.

After a long walk, we all friends were agreed at one thing to have a drink. As soon as you come out of the OLD Sarum. Parking area, there was a Harvester pub. Great service, good selection of beers and delicious food. We love beer garden out there next to the road. So had a nice beer and enjoy the great atmosphere.

Staff where friendly and restaurant was clean great food

My daughters food came which was the wrong order and once she received the correct order she had plastic inside her burger, she would not of noticed and possibly chocked on it if she did not take the bun of her burger to apply sauce, this then made her extremely cautious of the rest of her meal

salad bar depeleted and messy - lots of items missing or just scrapings, clearly no one is keeping it topped up or clearing up spillages and the mess at the counter. ordered an apple pie for dessert and the pastry was soft - waitress advised it was reheated in a microwave but should have then been crisped in an oven but maybe they hadn't - no apology, no offer to refund or replace

Don't use the phone booking becuz it books the wrong place , And when you say it's the wrong place the manager gets mad at you and tells you to leave becuz you swore at your phone !

this place is proper terrible...took 3 hours to bring 2 of us a starter main and dessert..the chips were cold rhe steak was well over cooked and every table near us that arrived after us had been served and left for home before we had finished the starter! not acceptable with the prices they charge...would never recommend this place to anyone!

Excellent location if you want to double up with a trip to Old Sarum as the footpath to the castle is directly opposite the Harvester car park. Service was pleasant, facilities were clean, food was as you’d expect at a Harvester - good value, predictable, and safe.

Ducked in for a Friday arvo lunch, and was busy and seemed understaffed. Chelsea was our server and was excellent in her service, was lovely and unfrazzled under the pump and seemed to be in two places at once. Thanks Chelsea.

Popped in after a walk around old sarum. Like most Harvester I've been to, it feels like everything is a bit dirty or sticky. Food took an hour to arrive and only did so once we asked. We also had to remind our server about our drink glasses for the soda machine. The salad bar was nice but I wouldn't go back. Very expensive for what it is.

Requested booth seat when booking due to social anxiety and other reasons to do with my children. Queried as soon as arrived and concierge was useless and she didn't want to know, sat us right in the middle encircled by other tables and in clear sight of empty booth (among others) that stayed empty for a literal hour. Honestly It was a torturous meal experience as a result, and the disrespect and complete lack of effort to give any consideration to our booking request, left a very sour taste for the duration, that would have been so easy to resolve. Would pay extra for a booth were it an option, not sure what more we could have done without causing an even bigger scene?

I hate complaining but the food we ordered hadn't arrived after waiting 50 mins. Queried this with the waitress and lo and behold she came straight back with it. It seemed as though it had been kept hot for a while. Quality of the food was ok. I spoke to the manager as we were leaving about the delay and he said it was because they only had a small kitchen and couldn't make it bigger because it was a listed building. I kept my thoughts to myself but why have so many covers if the kitchen can't cope.

Drove out with the family today for a little bite ..really disappointed with the whole experience overall almost an hours wait between starter and main no one cleared our table no food check ..salad bar empty ..food left on the hot plate for up to 25 mins at A time and when our mains arrived it was just even more disappointing kids meal with mash that was almost hard ..over cooked steak burnt fish ..you don’t expect 10/10 in a place like this but you do expect edible food ..we were refunded most of our meal but honestly wish it could of been better

Poor service and not great food for the money. Was told there would be a 30 min wait for food. Over an hour later, it finally shows up. It wasn't even that busy in there. Food quality not great, chips soggy and chicken watery. Felt like we were forgotten about by the staff, never came to ask if we wanted dessert, so we just got the bill and left. The price of the food has gone up a lot as well, really not worth it for what you get. Been to Harvester plenty of times in the past and never had issues with the service/food. This experience along with the now extortionate prices (for the quality of food/compared to other pubs), unfortunately means we will no longer be going to Harvester.

Great place to stop and have a pint and a meal. Really handy if you are camping at the camping and caravanning club site just down the road - walking distance !

Very busy, but staff were welcoming, polite and informative from start to finish. The food was excellent and we were both very happy with our choices of salad, scampi tails, half rack of ribs, and chicken fillet on a waffle with maple syrup and chips which was well cooked and hot when it was delivered to us.
