My server DAN was absolutely a unit I could tell he was doing far too much. DAN was bending over backwards so much for us I thought he might break his back. Server was amazingly awesome

Food was average. Salad bar was grim. Service was crap. Over priced. Rack of ribs was burnt!

Probably the best Harvester wr have ever been to. We had booked, but turned up 30 minutes early and the staff were happy to seat us early, despite being very busy. Having only ordered a main course and with it being so busy, we expected to have quite a wait for our food, but by the time we had visited the salad cart and got our re-fill drinks, we didn't wait any longer than about 15 minutes, which was great. The salad cart was well stocked and a member of the kitchen team was forever in and out restocking items. Everything on the salad cart was extremely fresh. Very tasty. Our food arrived and it looked well presented on the plate. A full rack of ribs and a 83 combo was our choices and they were both as you would expect. Juicy not dry chicken and ribs, with a good size portion of chips. We were never rushed by the staff, who were all extremely helpful and cheerful throughout. The added bonus of using the App, which gave us 25% off the meal. A very well run restaurant, which we will be looking forward to visiting again very soon. Definately the best Harvester we've been to...ever. Thankyou.

Visited on a busy Saturday evening without a booking. We were told we’d be seated in 30 minutes, but it took an hour despite many free tables. (think had had forgotten about us) Once seated, service was friendly and quick, but there was another long wait for our food. Disappointed to see a chef seeming to snack in the kitchen, and the food itself was underwhelming—dry chicken and a neglected salad bar.

Update after another revisit: It's the 9th October and the in-laws want to go out for dinner. After suggesting several other places they unfortunately asked to go here. Since I last visited the place has had a little makeover, however it's sadly still a very poor Harvester. First off, the place was filled with smoke. It was like the extractor fans weren't working, and consequently we all had to wash out clothes when we got home. We were also told the the menu we'd intended to eat kff of wasn't available until the 12th, despite the website saying it was available. When we ordered we were told a few minutes later that one order was unavailable. This happens so we weren't too fussed, however when our food was delivered the replacement meal was missing because the manager hadn't actually told the kitchen what the replacement was. So for 15 minutes 4 of us sat and ate slowly while our food went cold, so that one person in our party didn't have to eat in their own. The staff for the most part were pretty unhelpful l, and it took 4 attempts to ask to pay our bill. Other things we noted were that only half the salad bar was open and was limited in what was available because apparently it was a quiet time. If Friday at 7pm is a quiet time, it should be screaming loud and clear that the management of this venue is poor. That's certainly our take - Harvester as a brand is great, it's just this branch that is ineffectivly managed. I hope I never have to return. Update After Attempted Revisit: I was convinced to return on 25th October 2022, but that was an utter waste of time. We tried to book for 8pm but the (third party) website that is used for bookings wasn't working. However we turned up at 8pm regardless, only to find a note on the door saying that they weren't accepting walk-ins. After talking to a manager we were turned away because apparently they were running out of food. I don't know what it is about this particular Harvester. All the others are well run and clean, but it seems that the Taunton branch is very poorly managed and that people who work here just don't care. Original Review: This was our first visit to Harvester since an awful experience about 3 years ago, but sadly it seems that not much has changed. 35 minutes after sitting our order was finally taken. In fact all night the service was terribly slow dispite the premises being half empty. It's a good job we had nowhere to go as a main and dessert took more than 2.5 hours. We were extremely disappointed to hear that the salad bar wasn't operating, and instead we had to ask the staff for salad. I don't understand this, as the salad bar was the brand's USP, and that has been removed. Aside from that, the stairs leading to the toilets absolutely stink, like something has died and been left to rot. The toilets themselves were clean enough, but the water from the taps was a weird yellow/brown colour. We had no issues with the food. However I don't think a revisit is on the cards as the place doesn't seem well run and maintained.

Took the family...8 of us 2 x 3-year-olds and a 6 year old. The staff were great really helpful and it was very busy the food was OK.

Debbie was our server, she was absolutely wonderful. So funny and polite. She joined in with our jokes and just made the experience more enjoyable.

Lovely breakfast but still no beans available!

Didn’t really rate this visit unfortunately. The salad bar was empty and I had to ask for multiple dishes to be refilled. When I walked over to the staff, they were stood on their phones. When the ‘chef’ came out, I politely asked for some bacon bits and he bit my head off. Soon after that another lady asked him for a small plate and he was very rude to her. The ‘new’ garlic bread is diabolical!!! One small pitta with garlic butter brushed over the top - £4!!!! Shocking. Then we asked to use our blue light discount (which is advertised on their website) and was told by the waitress they stopped accepting it a week ago. I asked to see the manager who then honoured the discount. All in all, the level of professionalism from staff was very poor today.

Took us two hours for the food to come, told to look for our own cutlery, rack of ribs served dry and told to get sauce from salad bar,oily blund waffle 😡😡

The flavour of the food was great but the portion sizes were tiny, not what you expect for £15-£20 we have been coming for years and always knew what to expect and loved it, the portion sizes have decreased dramatically and the server who bought our food out, lady with short hair I think Amelia? Was very arrogant and rude. We asked politely for some mayo and when we requested more food after being disappointed with the portion size she responded ‘YES IM ALREADY ON YOUR MAYO!’ Very abruptly and rude even though we weren’t asking for that again. She never bought the mayo out and another staff member did who was very polite and very nice. The manager did apologise on the rude servers behalf but that is still not the point. As someone who works in retail and a customer facing roll we know this is NOT how you treat your customers. If she can’t handle people she’s possibly in the wrong job, she ruined our visit and we’d have been better off at McDonald’s, more full and better customer service. Really disappointed in the harvester this time and probably won’t be returning and definitely not recommending to anyone. As I said a little bit of coleslaw and veg wouldn’t go amiss on the burger and as for the mixed grill, the stake was so tiny it wasn’t worth having a mouth full of it. To add to this the whole restaurant was filled with smoke and it was making our eyes burn and my partner is asthmatic and had to have his inhaler during the visit as the smoke from the kitchen was so bad and thick.

The pricing was very spadmodic, garlic bread and waffles were dry and garlic bread didn’t taste of garlic. Garlic bread and spinach in cheese pasta shells was well over priced, it was a child’s size meal. The waiter was very nice. We waited for our meal, had to ask where it was.

Food cold atmosphere cold . Cold inside the building. The Food was awful cold and disgusting. I wasn't alone couple also had issues.

Food was cold even the second time but they brought it out to us eggs were burnt bacon was burnt toast was barely toasted no cutlery no napkins absolute shambles of a place

Excerlent food. Excerlent staff pity staff don't get tips as goes to management. Come on harvester give tips to the people who do the job

Salad bar offered poor quality food and not replenished. Salad bowls removed quickly so we could not revisit (even if we wanted to). Food discovered down the side of the bench seats we were sat on. Overall not a good experience, sorry. Doors to WC were sticky! Discount voucher for 30% not honoured as they have a new menu apparently. Too many reminders via text/email for booking.

This was my first visit to a Harvester bar and restaurant and immediately I felt at home. The staff immediately showed my friend and I to our table. I am an amputee and was pleased with the table and chair design. Comfortable. We both chose the skewers with chicken and BBQ sauce. We both went to your excellent salad bar. I knew I wouldn't be leaving hungry that day! The atmosphere was lovely too. Parking of my car in a disabled bay was very convenient, directly in front of the restaurant. The only thing is perhaps we could be informed of the time limit for parking. Although it's 4 hours, my friend and I could easily exceed this limit by chatting! Thank you for an excellent experience. We WILL be back.

Staff not helpful with gift card I had .Will not take it .

The place seemed to have serious issues. Hit by a fog of smoke when we walked in I am told usually caused by dirty filters in the kitchen. The girl serving was lovely and so were the bar staff all be it I think embarrassed by goings on. I went large on the the mixed grill and everything was way over cooked even fried eggs. I cut up my steak wrapped it and gave it to my dog out in the car. We had the top up coke deal where you pour yourself, unfortunately it had no syrup in it and nobody fixed it or told anybody it wasn't working on the whole time we were there. We tactfully told the waitress serving who could see how bad our visit had been who organised a part refund. We love the Harvester and hope they sort it out. We will be back but the place needs attention.

Turned up just before 11am waited to be seated then at 11.03 told we had missed breakfast and dinner didn't start until 12..!! Very poor 🙈

I happened to go on a new menu launch night. Unfortunately the dish I had (belly pork) was missing a main part so was dry and tasteless and also had chillies in the dish that were not on the menu description. I brought it to the managers attention. It seems an error was made on all the new menus.

It was a real pleasure to have Tyler as our server, well done young man you are a credit to your team.

Debbie was fantastic couldn't fault her at all. The harvester choir were in fine tune also. Food was OK can't fault it really. Debbie couldn't fault went above and beyond amazing customer service a credit to the harvester keep her at all costs.

Our server spent over ten minutes chatting to a couple at one table, while all around us, other people arrived and were served drinks and their food orders taken. Eventually our server came and took orders from three other tables before ours. Then our food took 45 minutes to arrive. Meanwhile, our server was back chatting to the first table. My chicken was hot, but the rest of the meal was cold. The standard of the food generally was disappointing. After I complained about my cold food, the server did take it off the bill, which I appreciate, but I would have preferred a decent meal. By this time, we had to rush off as we were late for an appointment, after waiting so long for our meal.

Best grilled meat selections I know in the area. Better than an average pub meal in my opinion. The mixed grill etc is great.

45 minute wait for food. The garlic bread had no garlic on it, just a cheesy pitta bread. Staff were nice though and the pork belly was very good when it did arrive.

We had a large table of 13 and our waiter Cameron was absolutely amazing, very patient and polite. Brilliant service and brilliant food!

Lovely food and Tyler was very helpful

Unfortunately, we were never told upon booking that there was a menu change the next day, even before we were seated we did not get told there was a menu change the next day. We ordered drinks and still was not told, it was only after we went to order that we were told that almost everything on the menu was not available. At this point I was very disappointed as I had brought my 84 year old grandad with me who doesn’t get out much and did not want to drag him to another restaurant, all the items that we wanted was not available, and we had to settle for choices that we were not really happy with. The food was ok, a bit rushed and anaemic, and the service was ok. The salad bar was also very basic with lots of items missing, breads were soft and cold as only defrosted, not baked. This is not the first time this has happened, and unfortunately it has resulted in my grandad not wanting to return.

Our server Debbie was very good. Happy and jovial. Attended to everything we needed. There were a lot of us due to a birthday and it was busy. She still made sure that everyone was happy and had everything they needed.

Found the place cold (temp) they were expecting a large party in, even so only one person dealing with customers, this made the service slow and others had to wait, because the open area was small

Really disappointed with this. The only saving grace was the lovely server we had. Asked for medium done steak...it came out well done. Had a child chicken strips and chips...the amount of chicken was ridiculously small...a mouse sized portion. Then ordered ice cream which was brought out in a hot bowl so was half melted before it was even started and never finished because it melted before it could be eaten as ice cream rather than liquid. Told all of this to the server. Nothing was done. Told the manager at the time of paying. Nothing was done. Sent them an email complaint, nothing was done. We had a sorry but I feel they should have offered a token discount from our bill. To be honest I wish we had refused to pay until they offered some kind of goodwill gesture. Very poor customer service in this respect.

Fantastic service and food today. Our server Debbie was lovely very attentive and really looked after us.

Booking online was easy. On arrival the staff were friendly and took us to our table and everything was explained to us. Food and drinks arrived quickly. On the whole the food was excellent apart from the fresh cooked tomato which was shriveled and the peas which were bland and tasteless, apart from those niggles we all had a great evening. There wasn't an option on paying to leave a tip, I had cash so gave that to our server.

Greeter was indifferent and rude. Breakfast stops at 11 I arrive at 10:50 but no service offered.

Debbie was a lovely server and very polite and welcoming.

Great atmosphere, great value, great service

Stayed at the hotel next door, tried to book a table at @17.20 plenty of tables spare, restaurant manager said nothing available till 09.00 next morning thought he was joking ... He wasn't said we would be flexible didn't want to know....shocking service or distinct lack of customer service.. will never visit again or stay at the hotel Holiday Inn Express Taunton East again either !

Went here for breakfast, was told by very rude server that vegetarian breakfast not available, no alternative offered no manners either. We said we would go else where, menu snatched from us. When leaving told the other server to teach KIRSTY some manners, then was shouted at when going out the door.

Going by previous comments and replys from the establishment, if your reading this before going AVOID AVOID, they tell you it's busy although just empty tables everywhere ( reading other comments, I now know it's cause they want to finish early ) it was so cold we had to eat with our coats on, the salad bar only had half the items in (I know it's a perk and free, but I paid 6.99 for the bowl due to being told they have no skewers and haven't for ages.....for then the next table get served 4 skewers, after telling me unfortunately they have been out of them for a while ) after asking for no sour cream on my food it came with loads of sour cream...just imagine if I had allergies, food was cold and seemed as if it had been cooked hours ago and barely reheated

Went in to order takeaway tonight and staff member was very rude how they spoke to me I went back out, a disgrace to their workplace.

The meals we had were excellent We chose the Ultimate Grill, The Triple rotisserie Combo and The Sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and a half rack of ribs, we also visited the salad bar there was plenty of choice. The desserts were also excellent. I thought it was great value for money and we will certainly be visiting again.

We stopped off as very convenient and close to motorway. We thought the restaurant was nicely decorated and good atmosphere. We enjoyed a lovely meal and our server Debbie was very attentive and helpful. Bit of a wait at salad cart whilst it was topped up but staff chased this up. Very family friendly!

Our waitress was lovely very helpful and understanding of my daughter . Her name was Naomi.

Our order experienced a "technical error" and we had to wait over ninety minutes for our food. There was then an additional problem with our bill. Our main waitress was good but the manager and a couple of other staff seemed to be ineffective and uninterested. The food was decent once it actually arrived but the several compiling errors and the seeming lack of care from most of the staff mean I will almost certainly not be returning in the future.

This place was amazing the staff out of this world special mention to tge manager who went above and beyond for my fussy daughter . Food was outstanding. Thankyou to all at tge harvester

Debbie has been a fantastic host, very chatty and welcoming. We regularly visit harvester however feel tonight was a poor experience for us. The chips looked anaemic, far too much bbq sauce on my skewers. 40 minute wait for food.
