Had the harvester trilogy on Tuesday and it’s now Friday night and I have been so poorly and have very bad stomach cramps since waking up in the night on that Tuesday.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it perfect for a family meal or catch-up with friends. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, providing top-notch service throughout our visit. Plus, the ample parking available on site was a bonus! 22/04/2025 - First time we have visited this Harvester and we have been very pleasantly surprised by the service from Dan? (I think that was his name) he was brilliant, obviously took great pride in his job, his service was impeccable and the food presented was brilliant, beautifully cooked, it was so good I asked Dan to pass on our compliments to the Chef. The whole experience was worthy of 5*plus ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01/05/2025 - Fast forward to today's 1*/2* experience - based on our previous experience we thought it would be nice to meet with family and eat here, BIG mistake, the service from the start wasn’t great, Mick who served was not overly pleasant, everything felt a chore, he served us with salad bowls that had dried residue of the previous users, obviously they had been cleaned, but not checked. After obtaining the replacement bowls, we ordered our meals. My meal was poorly cooked, certain elements of the dish were either undercooked or rubbery and the fish was exceptionally dry/overcooked. A family member commented on the portion of chips that accompanied their meal as evidently having been being 'reheated', with an obvious sawdust/gritty texture and bland in taste, at this point the server walked away, after calling him back he asked if I wanted to re-order and presented me with a menu. He did not return to the table for a good few minutes, by which time it was too late to re-order as everyone else had almost finished! After speaking at further length with him I asked for the bill, he then went and spoke with the Manager. He then returned and advised as a gesture the sum of £12.00 would be removed from the overall bill. Overall negative experience and certainly changed my opinion of the place.

I genuinely don’t know if I’ll be back here. We decided to come for breakfast. We arrived at 11:15 sat down fairly quickly and there was nowhere to say whether you had go to the bar or the waitress would come and take your order. When asked the waitress said very rudely that she would and we need to wait until our whole table was there. Which we were, no one else was coming! Once they took our food/drink order the waitress brought over our drinks which were on a tray with two very hot coffees. She places next to my daughter and her hands slipped and boiling hot coffee was centimetres away from spilling all of her in the highchair. No apology or anything. Walked away: food arrived by 12pm, hair was found in the food, eggs were very undercooked. And our apple juices were filled to the brim with ice when asked to have no ice. Then when it come to pay we wanted to split the bill, the lady told us we would have to calculate it ourselves and she would be back in a second, she come back 15 minutes later😆 really unpleasant meal and like said probably won’t be back. Also salad bar is only from 12pm onwards from what food you order: so don’t expect it otherwise you’ll be told off!!

Never again 23 people booked in for a birthday meal prior booking with all food orders given about 7 days before and on the evening we waited 2 hrs only to be told that the food was going to be a further hour So altogether we all waited approximately 3 hrs with still no food so we all left some people with children very disappointed

It had been a while since we had treated ourselves to a Haverster. Looking forward we booked a table for 18.15. Upon arriving at 17.55 we were shown to our tables pretty quickly, by a polite young man who explained they were short staffed and very busy. We accepted this and went with the flow. Our orders and drinks were taken within 20 mins and our salad bowls dropped to the table. Upon visiting the salad bar we found it almost completely empty. No lettuce, pasta, peppers. Most trays had little to nothing it. Sauces and toppings empty and nothing but a few hard rolls to offer. We returned to our table with what we could get and awaited it to be refreshed. This took quite awhile but eventually the station was being refreshed. Upon going to the salad bar promptly, it was apparent it must have been like this for quite awhile as it had become insanely busy as everyone scrambled to get some! Somethings remained empty. Our meal began arriving next. Which started off great, until our Last meal to be brought was wrong. My child sat there while the rest of us got started. The meal tasted good but was warm not hot. I was nearly finished when the last meal finally arrived. With it being busy and as they said under staffed, we took a very chilled out approach to all of the above. However upon finishing our meal we noted Alot of tables had finished and left. It was much quieter, so upon clearing the table I requested the dessert menu. This was dropped off to the table. We sat and waited, trying to get the attention of a waiter. 30 minutes later we are fed up of waiting and approach the welcome desk to try and get help so we could pay and leave. Eventually a waitress approaches asking how she can help, we ask to pay and instead of doing so as all others had at their table, we are told you were table 20 go to the bar! The bar has 1 barman trying to serve drinks, so we wait. To later find the waitress making her way to a break, which the bar man actually pointed out how busy he was. She stops and finally rings up our bill. We leave 2 hours after arriving! Just our main meal in that time I was totally accepting of the issues to begin, when they were clearly busy. But we felt totally ignored and little service, when the restaurant was much quieter. We would have spent more money on drinks and desserts. Having visited many harvesters, I'm in no rush to return.

Never got half of our party's order, including food for children, which was pretty unacceptable. We were told it was a delay, and when checking 20 minutes after everyone else was served, we were told the food was given to another table. Meaning we had two young and hungry children having to get a takeaway after their bed time. The food we did get, was not worth the wait, and pretty poor quality. Only saving grace was manager Rhys, who was amazingly helpful and apologetic and refunded our order. Our server Jamie was also very helpful and lovely, and the two of them couldn't apologise enough. Obviously wasn't their fault, but a very poor situation.

I had planned to meet a friend for a catch up and decided to eat at the Griffin. We arrived at 7pm and were shown to our table. The restaurant was quiet and we were assigned Naomi as our waiter. We were not told about the salad bar but our food order was taken. We ate our food and then waited for the waiter to clear our plates. They walked past and asked if we were okay but left the plates in front of us. After 15 mins I decided to move the plates myself. We then waited for another 10 mins with no attention. The restaurant was almost empty at this point.I then went to bar to order another drink and ask for dessert menus and explained we hadn’t been attended to since ordering our main meal. We then sat for another 10 mins and I decided to get up and go to the bar to order our desserts. At this point there was singing and dancing in the kitchen and around the restaurant by staff. It really ruined our evening out.

Visited 1815 on 5 April..Without any exaggeration my burger was so overcooked I could tap it on my plate and play music and the bun it came in was black. Won't be visiting again anytime soon . On the plus side The young man who was the supervisor on front of house was exceptional dealing with my complaint and a lot of other complaints from what I could see 10/10 .. Not enough staff for the amount of people dining. And the cooks can only be judged by what they put on your plate 2/10 😒

Unfortunately, was really disappointed with our visit to this particular Harvester, this evening. Food was fine, but the service was not very good I’m afraid. There was only three of us (two adults, one child), but was there for two hours in total having had only mains. Staff simply couldn’t seem to cope with the volume of customers present - even though the restaurant, whilst being busy, was certainly not at capacity. We asked for drinks (I opted for the soft drink refill), but it took so long to come, I only had time for the one drink and no refill, which kind of defeated the object! This is all a shame, because we have enjoyed previous visits, may be it was just circumstance this particular evening.

Very good. Cannot fault the service or the food. The only issue we had is, we were 4 adults who ordered 4 main meals. 2 came out and 2 didn't. After waiting awhile we got to the point of going to ask where the other 2 meals were and they brought them put as soon as they could. Whilst I could have knocked my scoring down for this error. The customer service outweighed the negatives

We went again after having a good meal a while back. So we booked a table at 3 and it was 4 o'clock before we were seated. We then waited 50 minutes before the food came and three out of 5 dishes were cold, not warm cold. We were given an apology and we only paid for the hot dishes but never again.

Perhaps other people have positive experiences about this place...Lucky for them. I don't visit often (once a year) because of the negative experience I(we) have each time. Returned yesterday with the hope this time will be different,better. Two of the meals I wanted to have, they were not available anymore or off the menu. Eg Tandoori chicken skewers, tacos, no 8 oz stake as a meal, as it comes only cut in the flatbreads... A good server would FIRST make aware their customers what items are Not available, thus sparing everyone's precious time... The girl serving seemed overwhelmed, kept addressing us with " hun, my love, lovely" . I am sorry but that is not a professional way to address customers, especially when they are more than twice your age and have asked not to be called that. I find that patronising and condescending . Our food took about 30 mins to arrive, when other customers ordering after us got theirs before us, We got our drinks 15-20 mins after first ordering them. The second drink I was fed up with waiting 15 mins for it, and got it from the bar within 2 mins. Many items at the salad bar were tasteless on their own. Needed to ask to be topped up as it was empty when I went there. Pros: The half grilled chicken was nice, decent, the 3 corn cubes were tasty by quite burned (kept too long in the deep fryer?). The young man at the bar was very genuinely nice, friendly. This is a good place to come for drinks only... I do recommend Harvester Salisbury. That is a place were I always return lovingly.

Ordered from the lunchtime menus 2 courses for 13.99 each Both had chargrilled chicken and chips gravy and sundae best desert and 2 small bottles of diet coke £7.00 extra Chicken was literally a chicken breast cut in half bullet hard overcooked or refried or heating lamp chips and garden peas and broccoli and about 250ml.of gravy in a separate pot. To be honest I could have cooked the same meal for 4 quid for the both. Chips were offered to be replaced half way though the meal but by then would have been too late, plus also we are small eaters anyways so didn't want the extra chips, Ice cream wasn't too bad but no were near enough sauce just mainly ice cream and an upside down waffle cone. The coke was crazy for the amount I could have bought 4x2 litre bottles for the amount I was charged. And to top it off they messed the bill up and overcharged by 10 quid. To be honest we will never go back to this one, went to the spyglass in Weymouth and that one was much better. We could have bought about 5 days food shopping for what I paid for the poor quality meal and exorbitant priced soft drinks. Had to wait 15 minutes to pay the bill which was wrong anyway Never again

Service was poor, firstly we were kept waiting to book in for a long time . As it was busy we sort of understand that but there was no apology . We then sat at our table, again after a long wait our drinks order was taken and at the same time we ordered food . The waiter then said he would go and get our bowls for the salad bar. We had another long wait for the bowls but even after that and going to get our salad there were no drinks served. The table had no serviettes and there were no side plates for bread rolls either. The meal itself was quite nice but the whole experience was ruined by the service. Also the loyalty card app would not work despite the waiter disappearing with my phone. We would like to return again but hopefully the overall experience will be better next time. One more thing, there was also used serviettes left on the table when we arrived.

Utterly Disappointing Experience at Harvester The Griffin I’m not even sure where to begin ,we booked afternoon table for lunch at Harvester T/G and the experience was beyond disappointing. The service from the staff was appalling. A waitress came to our table to take our order, only to walk off mid-process, chat with her colleagues, and completely forget about us. We ended up being served by about 5–6 different waiters, each of whom made mistakes when delivering our food. There were seven of us dining, and every single person received their meal at a different time. It was chaotic and incredibly frustrating. When it came time to order desserts, things somehow got even worse. We waited over 30 minutes for our puddings, and when they finally arrived, every single order was wrong and they still came out at different times. When my Ice-cream arrived it looked like soup. YES it was that bad The staff clearly have no idea what customer service means. Most of them spent the afternoon standing behind the counter chatting with each other while ignoring customers. The food itself was mediocre at best, which added to the disappointment. Please save your money and avoid this place. If this level of service continues, I wouldn’t be surprised if they shut down permanently. Absolutely disgusting service. “Management”, Please consider this review as constructive feedback rather than criticism. We kindly request that you refrain from responding with an apology, as we heard "sorry" repeatedly from your staff throughout the afternoon. A truly exceptional service experience from the outset would have prompted me to leave a positive review instead.

1/. Our party of 3 adults and 3 children aged between 8 and 12 arrived at 16.55 and our server showed us to out table and said he would be back shortly to take our order. 2/. After 30 minutes we still hadn't seen our server, so we asked another member of staff to place an order. She said no, but she would ask another server to help. No one turned up. 3/. We repeated this 2 more times with different servers. after 50 minutes our original server showed up. He had no understandings of allergies and had to seek help. He was new to the role, but should have been shadowed. 4/. We had to keep asking other servers for updates on where drinks and food were. 5/. Our children were amazingly well behaved considering that it was now well over an hour before they could eat or drink. That was only achieved by us leaving our table and effectively shadowing the staff until dishes were provided for the salad and drinks were served. Even then the drinks were incorrect. at the 2 hour mark, our food trickled to our table in dribs and drabs. The 'hot' food was for the most part cold and very very overcooked. 6/. There was no follow up by any staff member to see if everything was OK. 7/. Children's dessert's were ordered at the same time as the meal. 8/. We were now at the 3 hour mark continually asking staff for the deserts to be served. 9/. When the ice cream desserts were served, they were served in very hot bowls, which meant that the ice cream and accessories had all pretty much melted. 10/. Even trying to sort out payment was a struggle. 11/. Other Griffin customers had left in disgust due to the abysmal service. 12/. This was well over 3 hours of trauma for our whole party. We had very tired and agitated children to try to placate. The adults were very courteous to the staff, but the point is, the manager, if he felt the restaurant was overwhelmed, should not have allowed any more guests in. 13/. In short, our evening was ruined and the reputation of Harvester has once again been very badly tarnished. 14/. Having to pay anything for dreadful service, and appalling food does not lay easily with me. It should not lay easy with the staff either.

Never ever again! My family of 10 visited the Harvester this morning for breakfast. The food was passable at best, with a lot of it being pushed to the side of the plate, we showed a hollow dry and shrivelled sausage to the server who said she would speak to the kitchen. We then had to follow up with her to be told 'it's because they had to cook a lot of them'! The floor was disgustingly filthy, with yesterday's food debris, it is clear the floors had not been cleaned, we walked through to the bar area and it was in as bad a condition as the restaurant. I will never eat here again, did Covid teach people nothing? If I could give a zero or minus rating I would. Cleanliness should be top priority, they shouldn't even be opening the front door without the floors at least being vacuumed.

I have being going to many harvesters over the country for many many years, but today the meal I had ,Roast chicken that was absolutely disgusting, 12 peas , jacket potato that was a size of a chickens egg!!, broccoli 2 pieces, that thank god I got my real teeth, must have been on the boil for at the most 6 seconds, and as for the advertised gravy, should be prosecuted under the trade discreption act, it came out in a thimble size that I remember my dear ole grandmother use to use in 1953, to add insult to injury ole tattoo waiter told me that the excuse for chicken was normal, as they soak it in water overnight, well I am no chef but when chicken is inedable, and it certainly was not edable , i expect meet not watery meat, i would suggest the chicken was taken from the freezer straight under the grill, after a couple of minutes of discussion Tattoo decided to take it back,told us it will take between 10.to 12 minutes for the the replacement was ready, it was exactly the same,unbelievable, the waitress who looked after us after tattoo matey left, apologised, it such a shame ,even the salad bar was empty, I have never expected a refund, as if I have a poor meal I never go back, and I certainly will not, Harvester you must look at your chef at Taunton and the Tattoo waiter who by the way is male and very aggressive , moan over 2 very disappointed ex customers

Certain drinks ( White Wine ) unavailable! Food didn't represent the description on the menu .The half chicken & where was the corn on the Cob that was advertised? Served an unedible cube of overfried sweet corn. Also, ladies' toilets had No toilet paper, No soap in the dispensers, & Hand dryer wasn't working! Very Disappointed with the whole experience. We came in for lunch today, can’t fault the food. However the service was quite poor, our waiter wasn’t attentive at all. Our salad bowls weren’t delivered, my partner had to go get them from our waiter who was stood behind the bar chatting to his work colleague. However, Our food came out in a timely manor, and the food was amazing props to the kitchen staff. Once we had finished with our meal, we were offered dessert menus which we had agreed to. However our waiter Randy never came back after 25 minutes we decided to go find him just to find him yet again behind the bar chatting to some colleagues and making inappropriate comments and hand gestures.

We had breakfast here on Saturday 22/02/25. The three of us had the classic breakfast which consisted of two of everything. My issue is that the yokes of my fried eggs came out hard, all of our toast was stale and I was given all the crusts from the loaf of bread. The two eggs I had were really tiny. Maybe offer a breakfast which consists of one of everything with a larger egg. On a positive, what we did have was fine, tea and coffee was unlimited.

Well, I've had to update this as it wasn't quite what it use to be! £48 on 2 meals steak and battered hallumi with chips.. very pricey, service was okay but was just sat down and left with no return until I prompted a member of staff about the salad.. 10 minutes later we received our bowls.. quarter of the way through our salad our main food came out.. £4.30 each on salad it's a little extortionate.. overall I doubt I'll be coming back here again due to cost. Steak medium rare came out more medium than medium rare.. But I will comment on how professional the staff were when spoken to and very well dressed hense the 4* would have been 5* if we hadn't of had to ask about salad and ordering our main.. I'd understand if they was busy but it wasn't exactly that busy.

Starters came out quickly, but then we waited an eternity for our main clearly they had been forgotten as others who came in after us got there food before us, server was apologetic and kept telling us it was coming but took well over an hour and a half for 2 courses when it wasn’t even that busy food was okay luke warm when it came out but didn’t want to complain in case it was taken away and we had another hours wait, been before and not had an issue but will definitely think twice before coming back again paying over £100 for three of us would expect quicker!

Friendly and helpful staff who were able to assist my wife who has a food intolerance. However, the best thing about The Griffin is its location - right next to J25 of the M5! We often drive from our home in the south midlands to Devon or Cornwall and always factor in a meal at The Griffin. So, so, so much nicer than a motorway service area!

The food was amazing. Very tasty and plenty of it. The steak was just perfect (cooked by Tom) and the skewers were also nicely cooked. Debbie looked after us and was great for recommendations and suggestions, particularly about the Build your own Sundae. She went out of her way to ensure we had a great evening. We will definitely be back again soon. Thank you.

Our drinks were ordered promptly but had ask for a waitress to take our food order as we seemed to be forgotten. The condiments seemed mostly empty including the blue cheese dressing to put on our salad. Basically not enough staff as our waitress was rushed off her feet.

Food was very good but a choice of batter or bread crumbs regarding the Haddock would be good. The food was hot unlike one Saturday evening we were served 'tepid' food. The waitress was lovely and very polite and helpful, Lidya is written on the 'give us a review card, so I'm guessing that is the name of the waitress who served us.

Our visit was on Valentine's day. We were seated away from the music and not near bright lights which was my request when booking which was great. The waitress was very pleasant, patient and attentive. The food was lovely and my husband's steak was just how he wanted it. I love the salad bar which was well stocked. Is was great for the drinks we wanted especially my husbands no alcohol beer choice. He was able to get a % off with his NHS blue light card. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Honestly had a really lovely evening here. The food was so so good and the music was proper good tunes. I do want to give a mention to Randy who was so helpful and was honestly the sweetest server I’ve ever had so thank you again to the staff for brilliant food and a brilliant atmosphere, you were all incredible :))

Visited the Harvester Griffin Taunton. We absolutely love the harvester. It is so nice as we can walk over to the Restaurant. Sandra and her team have done it again they just go above and beyond our waitress was Rosie-may she is so nice friendly and just goes out of her way to help. Meals today 15/02/2025 was the original combo with chips and chicken bacon waffle delicious

We were served by Debbie today, absolutely lovely waitress and she strived to get us the best offers for our meal today which was really appreciated. We were also late for our booking by accident and were worried we’d get turned away but the lady who greeted us squeezed us in which was very kind. Couldn’t have asked for better service today.

Breakfast was tasty but cold... so was the hot chocolate! Service is usually prompt but not this time even though it was early and only one other couple in. Be sure to register your car reg as last time we visited we got a fine, which they did agree to cancel after a phone call.

Food was good, our waitress was lovely. Just one criticism which I hope gets noticed, the entire restaurant was really cold. Majority of people were sat with their coats and hats on. It is February, the front door was propped open and the cold draught was really unpleasant.

Ordered through just eat and it was 40minutes late. Everything was spicy even the chips!! My dad had a lamb korma that was raw and he said it didn’t taste right. The food turned up Cold do not recommend

I came in with my friends and I got myself a Quadzilla which was amazing as usual Max the bar man was quick to serve me and even came out of his way from stocking up to serve me when my food came out Cara had been very talkative asking me about films and going the extra mile Taylor has come out and checked to make sure the food was alright and also was very polite and talkative will be coming again

The food turned up in a timely manner, but regardless it tasted disgusting. It was bland as anything tasted like reheated frozen meals. I woke up angry the next day even thinking about it the chicken didn’t even taste like chicken.
