Went for dinner with my partner yesterday at the dog, we tried the new menu which definitely didn’t disappoint. Food was delicious and we had a lovely server Kaci. She went above and beyond to make our experience very enjoyable and feel very taken care of even though it was very busy.

We have always enjoyed coming here but there were a few aspects that disappointed us. My partner ordered the dirty bird burger, it had a teaspoon worth of sauce on the top bun under tomato and 2 bits of salad. As for myself I had the triple combo, the southern fried and rotisserie chicken were okay, but the grilled chicken was so rubbery or at least a texture I can't describe. Ordinarily the food is really nice, this particular time not so much. I have to shout out to Bernita, she is a very good host and cares for the improvements of the establishment and the feelings of customers. She noticed that the food wasn't great for us, even though politely I said, no it's okay at first as I'm usually quite reserved when it comes to complaining. Please ensure she gets a big thankyou, she's excellent and we will return again with I hope a better experience.

This has to have been the worst restaurant/pub visit in living memory. Right from the start, to the moment we left, this was an awful experience. I'll leave the cherry on top until the end. After reserving a table online, we got to the Dog about 5 minutes before the reservation time. There was a family in front of us and it appeared there was some confusion with their table. After patiently waiting, they were eventually seated by the gentleman who was on front-of-house. On his return, the phone rang and he proceeded to answer the phone. Bear in mind, we have already gotten out of our house and to the restaurant, we are effectively paying customers. But no, someone on the phone, who is probably sat in their house, not a paying customer takes priority. Once the phone call has ended, we were asked if we had booked a table. I said yes, gave my surname. I was asked if I was using any promotions, I replied "Yes, Blue Light card." The gentleman rolled his eyes as he pressed a button on his screen, then grabbed the menus. We were sat down, instantly asked if we wanted any drinks, which is nice, but we've not even looked at the drinks menu. We politely declined and asked if we could have a moment. We ordered drinks when ordering our food. Needless to say, things don't get any better from here. After enquiring whether we could have cheese on the children’s beef burger, we were advised that yes “it’s possible, it’s 50p”. We continued with our order. I chose the BBQ beef burger and my wife went with the half roast chicken. No pulled pork so I couldn’t have the BBQ Beef Burger. I went for a dirty one instead. Our waitress returned with the salad bowls that were so hot, the kids had to wait for them to cool down before carrying them. Once my wife and I had finished our salad, the drinks finally turned up. Then, the food. All was well, except someone in the kitchen doesn’t know that half a chicken, is 50% of a chicken. No thigh. What turned up was the chicken breast and a dried out drumstick, not attached. We called the waitress to ask where the thigh was, to which she went and got another “half”. What turned up looked a lot better, but still no thigh. We asked to speak to the duty manager who turned up to explain that due to the ‘ribs’, “the thigh doesn’t come with half a chicken.” Having been to the Dog half a dozen times previously, all my wife ever orders is the half a chicken. Oh dear. Ribs, indeed. After some toing and froing, the duty manager finally confirmed that the ‘apprentice’ in the kitchen would have thrown the thigh away. At this point, we wanted to leave. The two boys, however, happily tucking into their food! After food was finished, a waitress came to start clearing the table and finished with half a job. We then reminded the original waitress that we would like the desserts for the boys. Well, The Sundae Bests (ice cream cones) turned up in hot bowls. The ice cream had practically melted by the time it was served. Ice cream eaten, and another long wait for a waitress to bring our bill. That 50p cheese? £1. That cherry? Bill was paid and as we got to the exit, there was a lady, sat at a table by the entrance, drinking a tea or coffee. As I walked out, I said to my wife “Do you want to know what makes it worse? That’s the Landlady. Sat doing F-all whilst her pub and her staff is chaotic!” Couldn’t be certain, but as it was a Lenovo thinkpad, issued to all good M&B pubs, and their managers tend to think that having more responsibilities means doing less work, it was a good chance she was the landlady. No one else would be sat working on their laptop in a pub at 8pm, drinking tea/coffee unless it was their pub they were working in. 2 hours we were there. Only because of how chaotic this place was. The waitresses were golden. As soon as you get to management, it took the wrong turn.Used to like going to the Dog, not our nearest Harvester, but worth the journey. Not anymore.

Was served by Kaci. Such a lovely person. Mentioned it was my sister's 16th and they came out with candles on her dessert. Kaci was amazing!

Came for a drink & dessert with a friend & waitress & staff were very friendly & accommodating.

Went for breakfast food was nice but bacon badly burnt. Service slow no cutlery or butter for toast . Overall good but a bit hard work as pub was very quiet

Came into a warm smile by Gemma who was lovely in her conversation and attentiveness to detail. The Guinness here was amazing and both the bar staff Dan and Kirsty were equally as lovely in conversation.

The Guinness is to die for ❤️ expertly served by Gemma with her wonderful staff Dan and Kirsty.... Won't be long before we're back

Dinner to celebrate the birthdays of 2 of my grandchildren. A party of 15 and the team were all amazing as was the food and service. A big well done particularly to Jess.

Fantastic service and food 👍🏻 was served by Harriet and she did a fantastic job asking us if we had any allergies and making amendments to our order for us.

Waited too long for food and when it came it was either burnt or overcooked . I had the ultimate mixed grill which was missing the eggs so I told the waitress and then minutes later I had them thrown on the table in a bowl looking an absolute mess . Another waitress got my meal taken off the bill which was nice but the evening was already ruined. I've been to lots of harvesters and love going there but I'd give the dog a wide birth because the food is rough.

Food is actually starting to get slightly overpriced for what you get. The salad bar and unlimited soft drinks is probably the only reason I still go to the Harvester. The meal was just so meh. Not enough for starters, but the burger was just so average. My brother ordered the Dirty Burger meal and his burger patties were burnt to a crisp. Dry as anything. Service was good though. Waiter was lovely.

Amazing food, had the BBQ pork belly and ultimate mix grill. Service was quick. Tonii our waitress was lovely and friendly. Wanted to leave a tip but no option on the card machine.

We was welcomed with a big smile and hello from a lady with Red hair, didn’t catch her name. Izzy was our server, she was so lovely. She was very attentive and helpful when ordering. Parking was really good. As busy but still lots of parking spaces. Overall lovely meal out

Lovely harvestor would go again

Not been since ‘have you been to a Harvester before’ advert was aired on TV. Pleasantly surprised - the offering has stood the test of time and is current. Still get unlimited salad cart visits - great sauces (updated) but still has the blue cheese sauce and bacon bits (LUSH!) and bread rolls with butter. Superb if you’re hungry boys like us two. Food was well cooked, tasty and pretty damn wholesome. I had half roast chicken in Kentucky maple glaze, mashed potato and lashings of salad - all for less than £15. A special shout out to our server Tonii who was super pleasant and helpful. Will deffo be back - £8 chicken tuesdays? Yum.

Came in today for some food after a great experience last time we were lucky enough to be served by the same waitress izzie she was very accommodating to our dietary needs and did a everything she could for us a great asset to your team.

Lovely place inside and out. Workers are all lovely with great banter. Chris especially does a great job with the customers and really shows interest + pours a great pint

We met for breakfast 3 adults and 4 children. My daughter had a voucher. 2 of us had classic breakfast 1 had ultimate breakfast and we had one adult pancakes 1 kid pancakes and some toast for the little one. Juice tea and coffee. The bill was £48. The staff were friendly helpful efficient and not buggy. We hadn't booked and turned up as a table for 7 so they were not expecting us. A really great experience. I would definitely do it again

A meal with friends for my birthday. Excellent food, wonderful and very friendly service. A most enjoyable afternoon, well done! And today another meal with friends to celebrate our anniversary. As last time, everything was outstanding, and Beth looked after us superbly.

Tonight, Our waitress was Tonii, she was a lovely girl who was polite and professional, she acknowledged my daughter and had patience when my daughter had a request if having her pudding elements separately, nothing seemed to be a problem for her, She's a credit to the company. The food was the usual pub grub menu but was lovely and came out hot, the atmosphere was good, and the staff seemed happy to be there too.

I have had a funny stomach all night it was freezing cold in the restaurant we moved tables to find somewhere there wasn’t a draft and most diners were sat eating in their coats

I've just been in with 3 friends for food after a long day driving and sat down to a ultimate mixed grill (not for the feint heart) cooked by Joe, who is only 19! I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, and my days was it cooked flawlessly, as was the rest of the meat that accompanied it. As I'm always on the road and driving, if im back in the area, this place will be on my list of places to return to. 10/10 for service, food, waiting staff. Joe can hold his head high for that meal

I went to the dog harvester the other day and it was incredible from the food to the atmosphere and the bartender Chris who was polite and gave me recommendations on what beer to drink would definitely recommend

Visited on Friday 12th July and everything was amazing, food was 10/10 and service by our waitress Tonii was great.

Came here for Father's Day. We had a 3 course meal set Fathers day menu which of course, food was delightful as always. Service was amazing, couldn't of done better.

We popped in for drinks and ice cream. Kaci was our server. We found her to be excellent, pleasant, efficient and helpful. A credit to Harvester. Desserts were excellent as well. Not the first time we have only had drinks and desserts here and won't be the last.

Booked a table for two and got served by Tonii who was lovely and attentive. Food came out quick and hot considering how busy it was on a Friday evening thank you!

Been twice in the past month poor service and food not up to scratch. One of the chicken pieces was actually frozen. Update 20.11.2022 Food much better, salad bowl half empty though. Also said the free child meal voucher didn't meet the terms and conditions because we had a festive main instead of a main. Literally penalised for spending more money Update 12/07/2024 Tonii was a great hostess! She was attentive and the food was lovely! Go team kicking garlic
