Harts Boatyard in Kingston upon Thames

Brilliant service and atmosphere. We were taken to table overlooking river at the end of the restaurant. Lovely views and private, plenty of spaces between tables. Lovely waitress Kate very knowledgeable and friendly and efficient. We will be booking again. Very impressed. We weren’t rushed and service was amazing.

Beautiful location with friendly staff. Food is good although expencsive. Gets quite busy during the weekend. Hot days there are quite abit of midgies about which I recommend putting mint out to prevent them. This bar is also dog friendly but outside the front only. You have to book to sit upstairs and they have a parking area but you have you register your vehicle inside the pub.

What a wonderful lunch, coupled by the glorious sunshine and game changing service by the gorgeous biker chick Kate, will definitely return soon

We hired the private function room for 40 people following a family service to celebrate the life of our Mum. We chose an assorted buffet and the food was excellent. It was well presented and delicious. Liz and Tom were wonderful, so friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything had been set out as we had requested and they were both very attentive and on hand to oblige with any tea/coffee refills or anything else we required. A really lovely afternoon. The perfect venue. Thank you Harts Boatyard for making our day such a special one!

Came here for Lunch on a Monday. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food was tastey although quite expencsive for two chicken burgers and two drinks which came to £56. View sitting on the balcony is highly recommended over sitting in the garden.

Stopped by on our walk into Kingston on the off chance, never been before but will definitely be back now! Lovely staff, Liz was particularly wonderful. Really sweet and accommodating. Local Surbiton resident and will absolutely be back for some R&R on the riverside. Excellent stop x

The service here is really quite excellent, and the wine selection is more than enough for the food menu. Aden was good company too. Well done.

I visited here with my Girlfriend for a scenic lunch date. We used the QR code to order which messed up and they sent the desserts out before the starters, it was suggested this was my fault for not clicking a specific button but I beg to differ. Next they were out of one of the starters we ordered so had to get that refunded. When my starter came, Chicken liver parfait, it had a small what looked to be pubic hair in it. I left that part uneaten but I didn’t say anything, maybe I should have. When the mains came they were okay nothing amazing. Overall the decor is nice and the outdoor seating by the river is lovely however the food is quite overpriced and dull. We ended up cancelling our dessert and leaving early.

A return trip to an area I used to live in over 10 years ago. Hart’s Boatyard was where my wife and I had our first Xmas lunch. It’s split over 3 levels and is nestled by the Thames with outdoor tables by the river; great in the summer. It’s dog friendly on the lower floors too. We had a nicely chilled lunch here ordering small plates from the main and specials menu. They also do mini desserts with coffee which my wife always goes for. Foodwise it was good quality and nicely cooked (I understood they have a new chef) and other diners were complimenting the food too. We had a relaxed lunch here and would come back.

We visited on a Sunday late afternoon. It's a big place but nice inside. The service is friendly and welcoming. We had the roast dinners which were priced at £19.50 for the belly pork and £22.50 for the trio of meats. Although the food was of good enough quality, there was just not enough on the plate. They pop a giant Yorkshire on there to make it look a bit more impressive but in reality, meat portions are not so generous, three or four small potatoes, a tiny piece of stuffing the size of a big rolo and not much veg at all left us all feeling hungry again not long after. Added to that, they brought the greens out a couple of minutes later separately and they were cold so for the price range that they operate, it was quite disappointing. I wouldn't return.

Lovely setting by the river and free parking (remember to put your reg into the machine inside once you park!). Atmosphere was good, service was somewhat mixed - most staff very friendly but for example the staff member who checked on us for dinner was already turning around and looking away by the time I answered. Quick service for the most part although had to ask three times for water at the table and slowed down towards the end. Food well presented and nice.

What a lovely place, by the river. Great chilled background music, staff is so friendly and relaxed, plenty of sunshine and nice food. I love coming here, tried the bread with sweet potato hummus, delicious. And the brownie is definitely recommended!🫶🏼

This is the best pub! Kate welcomed me and my friends to dine for lunch and we had the best time. She was so lovely and funny and recommended food that we never thought to try. Would 100% come back again as her level of care and service was impeccable, definitely hard to find in most pubs. We’ll see you soon!

I hadn't been to Harts Boatyard in many years, so when a friend suggested lunch there, I thought it would be good to check it out again. Although I'm sure the inside would have been given some sort of update, to me, it seemed like walking back in time. The areas were clean, and the member of staff was polite and welcoming, despite her being the only one greeting people and serving drinks at the bar. Although one other member of staff appeared later, it felt like more staff were needed. The food was ok, but there was nothing to write home about. With regards to the atmosphere, there was very little of it, which may have been due to it being a lunchtime.

Cracking place for lunch on the river. Great option with lots of parking and some tables that overlook the river. Prices are decent and food is probably the best of the pubs in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here

Perfect in the summer with beautiful riverside views and comfortable seating! The indoor section is also lovely and the food is fantastic! 2 for £15 drinks on Monday - Thursdays are incredibly worth the trip!!

We had a celebration retirement dinner for 13 people in the private dining room. The room was perfect, the service and food fantastic. One of the party had very specific dietary needs and the staff made every effort to meet her requirements which they did in a discrete and efficient way. We held my Dad's wake at Harts Boatyard on a Friday afternoon. Kate was so helpful and friendly in helping us to organise and book the wake. We had a section of the venue reserved which had a lovely atmosphere. Lots of people commented on how nice the buffet food was, especially the hot food options and desserts. Although it was a rainy and grey day it was still lovely to look out onto the river. Thanks to all the staff at Harts Boatyard. We would recommend the venue and would definitely use them again.

Really nice setting with awesome food

This is my second time here. First time was unremarkable, but it was only a light snack and drinks. This time the food was great. There were six of us and everyone totally enjoyed the meals from Sunday roast to sea bass, burger and salad. I loved the dessert choice of a mini desert with a cappuccino -perfect for just a bit of sweet to end the meal without being over stuffed. The view of the river with a sunset from the upper dining room was lovely. Prices were very reasonable for quantity and caliber. Our sever Cat was awesome. Genuine, sweet and extremely attentive. Made us laugh and answered all questions, as we always have many. Accommodated special requests without hesitation . The meals were delivered all together ( I hate when someone has to wait) And perfectly. Fun was had by all.

We celebrated my birthday on the 2nd February 2025 (today) with my family and were served by Kat, a very friendly and cheerful young lady who went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of. Truly exceptional customer service. The food was delicious, as always. Thank you.

We always enjoy our visits to Hart’s Boatyard whether with friends or family because of the excellent service, food quality and atmosphere. We were also very happy with their arrangements for my mother’s wake in February 2023.

We had an incredible dining experience here! The steak was of exceptional quality, honestly better than some of the top restaurants in London. Our server Sophie C was fantastic—knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, which made our meal even more enjoyable. We’re already planning to come back for our Valentine’s dinner. Lovely atmosphere, great staff and great location on the river! We went for drinks and dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. The bar staff were excellent. Polite, helpful and friendly. There are lots of little nooks and crannies to sit, ideal if you want an intimate evening and there's also a few seats in the main bar area. Upstairs in the restaurant was equally pleasant. Food was nice, good prices and the service was excellent! Special thanks to our waitress Liz who made our evening special. I'm a firm believer in that staff can make or break an evening, Liz made our evening! Thank you! Fun, friendly and professional! This pub has a cracking view of the Thames, and the food here is exceptional. Haven’t found a better roast in London yet, but if a burger is more your style, then they do not disappoint. The service is brilliant and decor is gorgeous too.

Big mistake coming here for the first time - now nothing else stacks up! After multiple regular visits we just can’t find better….amazing food, great staff and always a warm welcome. Nick really takes service to the next level….

Absolutely incredible place - the food is phenomenal, the vibes are immaculate and the cocktails are not only delicious but priced at such a reasonable price. Booked lunch for 6 people a week or so before Xmas. Convenient on-site parking; Great table, inside, overlooking the river; Service was very friendly & efficient; We ordered 3 courses from the main menu & drinks; Everyone enjoyed the food. We had an overall first class / excellent dining experience for a party of 14 ( would have been 16 but for illness) thanks to Kate and all the team who to a person were so attentive, kind and friendly. This was on Sunday evening 29th December which would have been my Dads 100th birthday but he sadly passed away in late October. So we gathered together with my 95 year old Mum and extended family to celebrate his 💯. We have gone to Harts as a family for a number of significant birthdays and it is always good. This time the service was so attentive and first class and the virtually private space made available for our party was ideal. And the food was really great and very good value. Thank you Kate and all the team. We would certainly return.

Worst most expensive Christmas meal ever!! Visited on Christmas Day and tables were dirty and food was a 2/10. Service was fast which would generally be okay but on Christmas it felt a bit too rushed. Plates were being taken and not even finished. Atmosphere for Christmas Day was not great and could have played a bit of music to get into the spirit. Would not recommend and would not return.

Dec24- we've been going for years and this was the first time we had to be seated as it was fully booked in out normal table Food always good and staff always friendly and helpful Remember to add your number plate if you park. The view over the river is good too and fun in summer also

Came in for a date afternoon with my girlfriend. The atmosphere is very nice. Bit busy, but it is xmas time afteral, so every venue tries to squeeze in as many guests as possible. I'd recommend sunday roast, it is very good. Not a very wide selection of red wines by the glass, but it is acceptable. Just don't order pudding. It will never arrive. Many tables had to leave because they have been waiting pudding for more than 30m. They seem to have a problem with desserts.

we went for my mothers 83rd birthday on the way back from town. Always love it here...good food, nice people. In the summer it has amazing views down the river and nice just watching the rowers go by. Good hearty food.

FILTHY! Came for a special occasion in a light colour outfit and didn’t know where to sit! They have chairs covered with a velvet upholstery and they are dirtier than on the tube! Stains and food crumbs almost on every one! Does the management aware that furniture has to be cleaned? Honestly, I don’t think those chairs have ever seen cleaning liquid!
