Service is very bad and the waiting time for the food is quite slow. Got rude female waiter as well. Not very happy and impressed for first time visit especially I got my parents coming from abroad to visit is with wheelchair.

What a perfect end to a weekend. Sat on the upstairs balcony this evening and had the most incredible roast, portions were fantastic. the young girl looking after us was so friendly and helpful. plus there was a live band playing by the river creating a lovely atmosphere as the sun set! Can’t wait for next week!! 😁

What an absolute gem of a pub! Nestled right by the river, this place offers stunning sunset views that make the whole evening feel a little magical. The live band was the perfect backdrop—lively but not overpowering, setting a great mood without stealing the spotlight from the beautiful scenery. The food was genuinely delicious (the kind you find yourself still thinking about later), and the atmosphere was just right—buzzy but relaxed. Special shoutout to Jessica and Cate, who were both fantastic—so friendly and attentive, they really made us feel welcome. Can’t wait to go back.

Came here today after not visiting for around 7 years. The roast dinner was amazing, great portion sizes and service was very good. I noticed some bad reviews recently so decided to make a point of leaving one, well deserved and thank you.

Such a beautiful view from upstairs but the staff told us they were fully booked and we couldn't have an available table upstairs on the balcony. So we decided to seat downstairs to have a pint and that garlic flat bread. It took 1h for that bloody flat bread to come ... and that table we asked for was there, nobody using it. Totally shame. Anyway. The bread was good, very oily but good. And we decided to have our dinner somewhere else. Very disappointing to see that table empty for more than 1h and the staff not helpful and having to ask why a simple flat garlic bread was taking so long to come. Not coming back to that place...for sure. Gave 3 stars for the atmosphere just because the sun was shining btw.

UPDATE: Restaurant replied to my review telling me to email them but never had a response. Lack of care or customer service. Would recommend going somewhere else to eat. I visited here with my Girlfriend for a scenic lunch date. We used the QR code to order which messed up and they sent the desserts out before the starters, it was suggested this was my fault for not clicking a specific button but I beg to differ. Next they were out of one of the starters we ordered so had to get that refunded. When my starter came, Chicken liver parfait, it had a small what looked to be pubic hair in it. I left that part uneaten but I didn’t say anything, maybe I should have. When the mains came they were okay nothing amazing. Overall the decor is nice and the outdoor seating by the river is lovely however the food is quite overpriced and dull. We ended up cancelling our dessert and leaving early.

This pub probably has one of the best Sunday roast and also the service was excellent. Pizzas were also great and the food and service was worth with the price. Absolutely recommended.

The staffs here are very fantastic very friendly even the manager reached out to us asking about our experience in the pub. She was very friendly and I liked the food they served here especially the dessert. I asked for crème brûlée and it was one of the finest that I've ever had. 100% recommend this place.

Absolutely the best Sunday roast I’ve had in a long time—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A great spot for a relaxing Sunday meal. Highly recommend!

Great place for a drink on the river

We enjoyed a very good dinner. They managed to accommodate 17 people in short notice. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. We will come back soon

AMAZING. I can not recommend this place enough. INCREDIBLE food, INCREDIBLE ambiance. I was blown away by the helpfulness and receptiveness of the staff, especially Holly, who deserves a special mention. Holly went above and beyond to help myself and my wife, who has some mobility issues. One of the kindest young ladies I have ever met. I will absolutely be recommending to others, and I am already looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the great work!

Used to be a great place to relax by the river, slow service, they sneak VAT to advertised prices, make a short comment and run away when you contest it. Not ideal customer experience

Absolutely beautiful setting for dinner, the whole family really enjoy our time here, the service was outstanding our waiter Holly really exceed expectations by helping us with great food recommendations !!

Sunday morning breakfast was served quickly and efficiently, and the food was tasty, well prepared/presented and portions were generous. However, our party were the only people in there, there was no background music, and no atmosphere. We'll go back for a lunch or an evening meal, just to see if the mood changes.

We had the most amazing roast dinner here with friendly staff and perfect view of the river! By far the best place to eat in surbiton!

Overall a really bad experience! We went there for a Sunday roast, when we said to the staff member that we were gluten intolerant he bluntly told us that "it's good we are only intolerant because if we are celiac they have to follow a whole protocol and it's really annoying". We were shocked to say the least, even more when we saw a massive Yorkshire pudding on our plates. The food potions were really small too and when we asked for more garvy it took them 30min to bring it. Needless to say that we would not go back

Just had cod and chips for Sunday dinner. Very poor all batter and very little fish to speak of. Pea puree give me a break what is wrong with garden peas. If I wasn't in part of a large family group I would have sent the dish back and I can't remember the last time that happened. The Rhubarb crumble and custard for dessert although nice was barely luke warm. The rest of the place and service were fine.

A beautiful place on the banks of the Thames, a very cozy restaurant, reasonable prices.

Brilliant service and atmosphere. We were taken to table overlooking river at the end of the restaurant. Lovely views and private, plenty of spaces between tables. Lovely waitress Kate very knowledgeable and friendly and efficient. We will be booking again. Very impressed. We weren’t rushed and service was amazing.

Beautiful location with friendly staff. Food is good although expencsive. Gets quite busy during the weekend. Hot days there are quite abit of midgies about which I recommend putting mint out to prevent them. This bar is also dog friendly but outside the front only. You have to book to sit upstairs and they have a parking area but you have you register your vehicle inside the pub.

We hired the private function room for 40 people following a family service to celebrate the life of our Mum. We chose an assorted buffet and the food was excellent. It was well presented and delicious. Liz and Tom were wonderful, so friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything had been set out as we had requested and they were both very attentive and on hand to oblige with any tea/coffee refills or anything else we required. A really lovely afternoon. The perfect venue. Thank you Harts Boatyard for making our day such a special one!

Came here for Lunch on a Monday. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food was tastey although quite expencsive for two chicken burgers and two drinks which came to £56. View sitting on the balcony is highly recommended over sitting in the garden.

The service here is really quite excellent, and the wine selection is more than enough for the food menu. Aden was good company too. Well done.

Stopped by on our walk into Kingston on the off chance, never been before but will definitely be back now! Lovely staff, Liz was particularly wonderful. Really sweet and accommodating. Local Surbiton resident and will absolutely be back for some R&R on the riverside. Excellent stop x

A return trip to an area I used to live in over 10 years ago. Hart’s Boatyard was where my wife and I had our first Xmas lunch. It’s split over 3 levels and is nestled by the Thames with outdoor tables by the river; great in the summer. It’s dog friendly on the lower floors too. We had a nicely chilled lunch here ordering small plates from the main and specials menu. They also do mini desserts with coffee which my wife always goes for. Foodwise it was good quality and nicely cooked (I understood they have a new chef) and other diners were complimenting the food too. We had a relaxed lunch here and would come back.

We visited on a Sunday late afternoon. It's a big place but nice inside. The service is friendly and welcoming. We had the roast dinners which were priced at £19.50 for the belly pork and £22.50 for the trio of meats. Although the food was of good enough quality, there was just not enough on the plate. They pop a giant Yorkshire on there to make it look a bit more impressive but in reality, meat portions are not so generous, three or four small potatoes, a tiny piece of stuffing the size of a big rolo and not much veg at all left us all feeling hungry again not long after. Added to that, they brought the greens out a couple of minutes later separately and they were cold so for the price range that they operate, it was quite disappointing. I wouldn't return.

Lovely setting by the river and free parking (remember to put your reg into the machine inside once you park!). Atmosphere was good, service was somewhat mixed - most staff very friendly but for example the staff member who checked on us for dinner was already turning around and looking away by the time I answered. Quick service for the most part although had to ask three times for water at the table and slowed down towards the end. Food well presented and nice.

What a lovely place, by the river. Great chilled background music, staff is so friendly and relaxed, plenty of sunshine and nice food. I love coming here, tried the bread with sweet potato hummus, delicious. And the brownie is definitely recommended!🫶🏼

This is the best pub! Kate welcomed me and my friends to dine for lunch and we had the best time. She was so lovely and funny and recommended food that we never thought to try. I hadn't been to Harts Boatyard in many years, so when a friend suggested lunch there, I thought it would be good to check it out again. Although I'm sure the inside would have been given some sort of update, to me, it seemed like walking back in time. The areas were clean, and the member of staff was polite and welcoming, despite her being the only one greeting people and serving drinks at the bar. Although one other member of staff appeared later, it felt like more staff were needed. The food was ok, but there was nothing to write home about. With regards to the atmosphere, there was very little of it, which may have been due to it being a lunchtime.

Cracking place for lunch on the river. Great option with lots of parking and some tables that overlook the river. Prices are decent and food is probably the best of the pubs in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here

Perfect in the summer with beautiful riverside views and comfortable seating! The indoor section is also lovely and the food is fantastic! 2 for £15 drinks on Monday - Thursdays are incredibly worth the trip!!

We had a celebration retirement dinner for 13 people in the private dining room. The room was perfect, the service and food fantastic. One of the party had very specific dietary needs and the staff made every effort to meet her requirements which they did in a discrete and efficient way. We held my Dad's wake at Harts Boatyard on a Friday afternoon. Kate was so helpful and friendly in helping us to organise and book the wake. We had a section of the venue reserved which had a lovely atmosphere. Lots of people commented on how nice the buffet food was, especially the hot food options and desserts. Although it was a rainy and grey day it was still lovely to look out onto the river. Thanks to all the staff at Harts Boatyard. We would recommend the venue and would definitely use them again.

This is my second time here. First time was unremarkable, but it was only a light snack and drinks. This time the food was great. There were six of us and everyone totally enjoyed the meals from Sunday roast to sea bass, burger and salad. I loved the dessert choice of a mini desert with a cappuccino -perfect for just a bit of sweet to end the meal without being over stuffed. The view of the river with a sunset from the upper dining room was lovely. Prices were very reasonable for quantity and caliber. Our sever Cat was awesome. Genuine, sweet and extremely attentive. Made us laugh and answered all questions, as we always have many. Accommodated special requests without hesitation . The meals were delivered all together ( I hate when someone has to wait) And perfectly. Fun was had by all.

We always enjoy our visits to Hart’s Boatyard whether with friends or family because of the excellent service, food quality and atmosphere. We were also very happy with their arrangements for my mother’s wake in February 2023.
