THIS IS NOT A CRAFT BEER PLACE Camden Ale is not a craft beer. Not one decent brewery. More like the cheaper craft beers you can get in Tesco and I don’t mean the half decent ones I mean the cheap ones LOL Camden Tiny Rebel I wouldn’t have been surprised if they were selling Punk !! YOU CANT PUT A COUPLE OF CHEAP IPA’s ON AND CALL YOURSELF A HOP HOUSE OR A CRAFT BEER PLACE. I/we took one look at the choice asked the waitress if that’s all they had (any cans or bottles etc) then left.

My sisters and I have spent a second Saturday afternoon at this delightful little venue in Harton , South Shields . The first time we just had drinks but after seeing the food come out decided to visit the next week and try the food We had one of their charcuterie and cheese slates and a hummus starter and the food was fantastic It was served promptly , was fresh and plentiful at a very reasonable price The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere of the whole place is welcoming and relaxing . I would strongly recommend anybody who wants a really nice afternoon out with reasonable prices , good food and drinks and excellent service to visit the Harton Hophouse I certainly will be returning

Lovely service and very amiable. The cubicles are a great idea but would be a squeeze for 4 people. Definitely going again as nothing like this in the area. Great idea and very popular.

Amazing bar in South Shields with great offer of craft beer. Good selection of wine and gin. Had a family gathering there and enjoyed it well. They were well able to accommodate our vegan diet and provided good selection of vegan food, all tasty. Good vibe, good drinks and food, great, helpful and friendly staff. Defo recommended.

Why was this ever considered on a national real ale beer drinkers trail? NO real ale, only fizz lagers and "craft" offerings. Overcrowded, was told (when the little boy behind the bar could be bothered to serve me - that took almost 10 minutes, whilst he faffed with the washing up, chatting, nipping out the back) that I HAD to book. Didn't stop. What a waste of a journey from London - certainly won't ever return. (NOTE I only left the one star because apparently nil is not an option!!!)

Yesterday afternoon I reserved tables for 22 friends and family for my father in law’s surprise 80th birthday 🎉 it was exceptional from start to finish, staff were amazing, so organised and attentive! Food was lovely! We all had a fabulous time! Would highly recommend this fantastic micro pub

Great food with a wide variety of ales spirits and exotic concoctions to suit all tastes. Topped up with excellent staff and exceptional hostess.

We called in yesterday I had a pint of Beaver town Neck oil and the wife a pint of Camden Hills Lager … Both were spot on .. Cold drinks!! hot day and a Nice warm welcome from Jane, what more can you ask for. Pitty the web site us not up and running yet. Can’t wait for next visit.

Excellent little micro brewery in harton village well worth a visit

Great local business that gets a fantastic selection of guest beers in and are kept perfect! Love the fact I can keep them going in these uncertain times by getting takeout beer in cartons from them!

Highly recommend giving this place a try. One of the only (if not only) places in South Shields that sells nice IPAs and lager. Not your typical lagers on draught which is a breath of fresh air. The set up is covid friendly too, with a table booking system in place. Definitely worth a try.
