Amazing little coffee shop ran by super friendly staff and serving beautiful coffee! Best coffee shop in South Shields without a doubt. Not to mention the chilli hot dog is to die for ☺️

I visited this little cafe with my family for light bites, we had toasties,cake, coffee and milkshake and they're all delicious! Staff are friendly & helpful, thank you for the amazing hospitality definitely will come back next time! 😊

5* for these guys overall, came in on a soaking wet morning with a newborn in a pram, they helped with the door and helped us to our seats. I had an amazing hotdog and my partner had a breakfast roll, the milkshake was amazing and the atmosphere from the staff was great! Thanks for amazing hospitality, we will be back!

Lovely, modern, clean cafe just off the market place in South Shields. Can't comment on food because we only had coffee but everything about the place is absolutely perfect. Will definitely go back and recommend to family and friends. Please support local businesses.

I was working in the area, great place for hot drinks, always with customers on my frequent visits. Nice friendly atmosphere, good place to catch up or coffee for two. I would recommend.

Cafe 42 is a great, friendly little place. The owner and his family/staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy. The cafe is clean and comfortable and the food is always fresh. It's about 30 steps away from the local market place and near to the shopping centre, Asda and Metro and bus Interchange. Highly recommended 👌

Popped in today, what a quaint little space, service was quick Cappuccino and Cheese scone, great coffee and the scone was so light and crumbly, friendly sfaff we will be back 👍👍

Ordered an afternoon tea box for my brother and his wife while are going through a difficult time. Never expected to be sorted so quickly and delivered at exactly the time they said with a lovely note Alan is one of the friendliest people I have dealt with over the phone and I'll be sure to pop in when I'm back home for the weekend. Most importantly I'm told the box was delicious and since I've seen the photos I'm craving an afternoon tea ... if only I wasnt 150 miles away Keep doing what your doing guys 5* If you ever need a mortgage I'll look after you like you have me 👍

On of the best afternoon teas/treat boxes I have ordered. Masses of food in the boxes. The ones I have had before always skimped on the contents but not these. Value for money and a fab selection of sandwich fillings and cake selections. Loved the cheese board selection. I would definitely order these again and I have already raved about this to my friends and family. If I could give more stars then I would. Well done Alan.

I went here for a coffee morning with others and service was very good, as we're the bacon and egg butties! Friendly service with a smile. Very pleasant staff and I would recommend going here if meeting a friend for a cuppa and a snack. Tables were spotless and a nice atmosphere.

Best Bacon Sandwich in Shields. Very welcoming staff, beautifully clean interior. Toilets spotless. Would definitely recommend as somewhere to drop in for a coffee and a bite to eat.

Couldn't be more helpful to me, they have a ramp for wheelchairs and the toilet is a lovely size to get around

It's very expensive and the table spacing doesn't give you very much space that you may wish or require between them for convenience and comfort.

The heart and soul of Cafe 42 are the excellent staff. This is customer service at its best. The coffee and food are equally as brilliant. My first visit today. Definately not my last. If you haven't been...treat yourself. You'll love it.

Such a friendly little cafe. Gorgeous coffee and cake selection. I had the chilli jacket potato which was delicious. Can definitely see this being a regular meeting point.
