Good old fashioned chippy great staff

Fantastic fish and chips, would definitely recommend this place. The fish was beautifully cooked, chips were freshly cooked. Very friendly service I will definitely be going back.

So disappointed went here before my 12hour shift at work ordered food cost over £25 drive home was the worst dinner I've ever had from a chipshop we ordered chicken and mushroom pies I hate to think how long they had been sitting there or how many tinea thwy had been reheated but the pies were Rick hard and inside the chicken and mushrooms had practically disintegrated a tiny bit of rottom smelling chicken in the corner of the pie will be going back to get a refund amd will never buy from there again

Not going here again ! £2.90 for a battered burger is ridiculous and extortionate nearly half the price of fish. Chips need cooking more too and chip butty £2.90 which needs more chips adding , left feeling ripped off and didn't enjoy my expensive chippy dinner.

Fantastic food, great price. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and it was a good size portion also. Really quick service also and you can pay by card.

I have been in a few times now but have noticed recently the portions on a regular cod&chips wise are very small and some of the chips under cooked. Shame as i would of carried on going but will go somewhere else now just felt disappointed. For £9.10 it really was not good value. Shame....

Never had an issue with quality and portion size from Hartlands. Sometimes there is a wait, for Fish, but it's worth it as it will be freshly prepared. Fish always tastes fresh and service is efficient and friendly.

Do yourself a favour and visit one of the other chippys in the area. Poor quality, rude service, very greasy food, bread roll old and crumbling, chips soggy AND undercooked. Fish cake that tasted like sweepings from the local birds eye factory floor. Please. Don't go there, this is not a business that's deserves anyone's custom, attention or hard earned money. If you crave disappointment, you will be.

Expensive, ordered large cod and chips twice and a regular cod and chips and one mushy peas nearly £30. Got home opened up and the "large" cods weren't even large hardly no meat and looked like someone had driven over it. Didn't taste too bad but won't go there again shame.

This chipshop is absolutely shocking it should be closed down never will I buy food from there again fishcake was dry and hard you could knock someone out with it!! Chips Rock hard too very disappointed

Fish was crispy and tasted quite fresh but chips were on the soggy side. Shop was very clean and staff were nice.

We had fish and chips for my sons birthday tea enjoyed by all the family food was fantastic loads of it, service superb, very clean tidy and organized, the only thing that let's this place down is the lack of parking we had to park up the road in a safe place.

Really friendly staff. Fish is always lovely, never too dry and chips are just right. Not too dry and not too greasy.

Only had a portion of chips. Service was not welcoming. Oil was rancid. Chips were very disappointing. Hate throwing food away. This was not a Friday treat.

Visited a couple weeks back, entered and 2 i assume staff sat at the back of the shop staring at myself (not for the first time) made the whole visit a bit awkward and unusual. Had a bit of a wait despite being the only customer, chips were really disappointing and not nice at all really, felt like i was served chips from the afternoon despite it being 6pm in the evening.

Chips are nice but be whery of the parking which is controlled by npe who are low life leaches. I no longer shop here after a fine for five minutes parking whilst the shop was closed. Boycotted

Always good for me. I probably go once a month for many years as I live locally , and can honestly say , I've never been disappointed. Friendly staff too in my experience. (Be wary of parking rules )

Wouldn't bother wasting your time in here or the kebab shop rubbish tasting food filthy experience would much rather drive 5 mintues down the road to the frying machine avoid as much as possible!

Great fish and chips! Cod was lovely and a nice size, and the chips were cooked properly, no manky limp chips here!

tried to trick my sister and her friends into over pricing them, without giving them one part of the order. £15 for 4 sausages and chips, also refusing to sell the kids cod and chips, i think not. Then tried to ask for a 50p back when my sisters friend mentioned that it was a special edition. After all the fuss they made my mum then went up to ask for her order and then also refused to give her that, leaving her with no dinner and all her money spent! disgusting behaviour and highly recommend to not order from there.

Loyal customer of 2 years lost. £1.80 for a measly portion... think I'll take my custom elsewhere. Update: for an extra 2 min drive your better going to 'Oh yes' in heartsese. Massive portions, piping hot and fresh.

Batter was terrible, and could tell it had been left in a heating cabinet most of the day, Chips we’re absolutely the most disappointing thing i’ve ever tasted, and my girlfriend didn’t feel comfortable at all and felt like she was being stared down.

I parked outside the shop the morning after Boxing Day for 7 minutes. It was bucketing it down with rain and didn’t see the parking sign, got a £60 fine and an admin fee just to pay my parking ticket. The parking company don’t even allow you to talk to them over the phone. Won’t buy anything off them ever again!

Avoid this chippy parked outside took a few mins to decide what I wanted then three days later had a fine come through saying I have to pay 60/100 pounds an to top it off the fish was rubbery an chips seemed like they had been recooked a few times now I know why its empty when driving by stay clear people

I like this chip shop . I go every Saturday at the same time on my way home from work .. the lovely lady who serves me knows my order and is really sweet and has my food ready .. great guys cooking too ... I will however only go in if this lovely lady is serving ( as not all staff serving are friendly )

Probably the worst bit of fish I’ve ever had, £5.50 (no chips, thank god!) and the batter was like sandpaper!! I wasn’t able to phone them as there is no phone number, hence my post on here.

Staff snooty and rude. Its not my fault you work in a chippy girls!

I have been using this fish and chip shop for a number of years now, along with both the dry cleaners and Lloyds bank. Today I received a car parking notice issuing me a £100/£60 fine due to a breach of the parking restrictions. Given that the Lloyds bank car park was full (which is normally the case) I opted to park outside the chip shop, something I've done many, many times. I withdrew some cash as normal and bought some lunch from the chip shop. I was there for 4 minutes and the landowner / chip shop owner has the audacity to issue this fine, not only that, but to a paying customer. Do yourself a favour and AVOID any of the amenities along this stretch of Harvey Lane at all costs. I wouldn't wish this fine on anyone let alone paying local customers. I hope this results in the shops going out of business and the owner getting what he/she deserves.

Awful quality tasting food with awful batter. I have never paid so much for something so terrible. Such a shame as it has a good location next to a pub and a good range of local areas. I would love it if they could get their act together with the food :(

BEWARE YOU GET A £100 PARKING TICKET FOR STOPPING ON THEIR FRONTAGE. TOOK A FEW MINUTES TO WORK OUT MENU AND GET CASH FROM BANK NEXT DOOR AND THEN GOT A PARKING NOTICE IN THE POST. THEY DO NOT PUBLISH THEIR PHONE NUMBER EITHER - SPEAKS VOLUMES!!!!

Arrived at 9 :10 door says open till 9;30 told finished cooking still after looking at reviews not missed anything

I've never left a review before but feel compelled to after the meal we had tonight. It was honestly one of the worst meals I've ever had. The chips tasted like they had been fried left out for 2 days and then reheated. Everything tasted old and was cold. As a previous review said I was shocked at how expensive they were for such bad food.

My collegue treated me to lunch today, and I am thoroughly disapointed. I had a battered burger, chips and curry sauce. Not one item I am happy with, my battered burger was crusified the batter flaked off and the burger was so over done it was like beef jerky. The chips were so aneamic and barely cooked I didnt even eat them and my curry sauce tasted of curry sauce mix. and even more shock was once she told me how much it cost, very over priced for such poor quality.
