Fantastic service, fantastic drinks and delicious food! From start to finish, every single staff member was caring, friendly and made sure we each had the best night. The food was incredible and the cocktails were beautiful. Couldn’t recommend more!!

A last minute booking for New Years eve and nothing was too much trouble! Fantastic food and the service was the best I've had in a long time Well done and a massive thank you to Harry's Highly recommended and we will definitely be back

Escaping the weather before dinner we slipped into Harry's for a couple of drinks. Warm and friendly it was just what we were looking for. Well made cocktails and some delicvious mulled wine - just the ticket

Lovely food and really good, friendly service. There is a very nice atmosphere at Harry's Bar.

Camembert starter was very good, we ordered the steak, both medium but we got one well done and one medium rare, loaded fries are just covered in dried up cheese and chopped peppers, ordered more drinks with the mains which didn't arrive, asked for the bill which didn't arrive and when i asked for it again they sent the wrong bill, a shambles over all.

Fabulous place. Food was fab! Staff were lovely, very friendly & helpful.

Lovely helpful polite and friendly waitress. Great mussels and chips reasonably priced from the starter menu and enough for a light meal. Be careful if enjoying the drink though, a medium glass of Rioja for £10 soon adds to the bill.

Great place has a good menu and has gluten free and plenty of vegan options

Este restaurante tenía una mesa restante, pero tenía un cartel de "RESERVADO". Si no preguntas no averiguas cuánto tiempo tienes para comer antes de que aparezcan las personas que han reservado la mesa. Tuvimos casi una hora para pedir y comer, así que pedimos y tuvimos suerte. Mi marido tenía los scampi con patatas fritas, mi hija tenía una envoltura de pollo con ensalada y yo tenía un queso vegetariano derretido. Todo estaba delicioso. El servicio era maravilloso y el ambiente era fuera de este mundo. Estábamos sentados con Drácula, un hombre lobo y varios otros personajes. Volveremos, pero la próxima vez estamos planeando quedarnos en Whitby por unos días y no solo para el almuerzo.

Llegamos nuestra mesa nos estaba esperando, el servicio era rápido y los cócteles eran increíbles. Teníamos champiñones al ajo y mariscos chowder fue increíble. El filete fue cocinado a nuestro gusto y estaba tierno. No puedo esperar hasta la próxima vez

We had a delicious meal here. Staff were just lovely. I would definitely recommend Harry's to anyone visiting Whitby. With such a busy street full of places to eat, I would have to say that the staff and the food made this a real treat. Well done Harry's 🤩

Comemos en el restaurante de Harry cada vez que nos alojamos en Whitby y hemos estado viniendo durante años. Reservé una mesa de nuevo en el restaurante, pero no me dijeron que el restaurante está ahora en el bar de abajo y no separado. A la llegada nos mostraron nuestra mesa que estaba metido en la esquina con la pared de una cabina en un lado y una mesa de 4 justo al lado de nosotros, también podríamos haber estado sentados en su mesa, la brecha era tan estrecha. También era extremadamente ruidoso Cuando dije que estaba decepcionado y no quería ser aplastado en una esquina nos ofrecieron un asiento en la ventana o el bar que eran asientos altos y un banco y se sentía como ser un café. En este punto nos fuimos y fuimos a The Edge y tuvimos una excelente comida en un ambiente agradable. Qué pena, estoy seguro de que la comida seguirá siendo tan agradable como antes, pero no volveremos

The service was excellent, food served quickly and was really good. Definitely would recommend to eating here.

we really enjoyed our meal at Harry's, I had the seafood chowder starter and pulled pork sandwich with chips for main. Jackie had duck spring rolls to starter and a chicken skewer for main. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The wine was served nicely chilled. An excellent evening 😀

Great burger (steak) and happy hour cocktails..

Been coming to Whitby for years, first time we've been in. Went in for breakfast, was absolutely fantastic, in quality and flavour. I had full English and my wife had eggs Royale, both were amazing. I would highly recommend a visit when you go to Whitby

Fantastic place to eat! My son and I go there every week for seafood. We have been in most of the restuarants in Whitby, the food, the atmosphere and the staff are brilliant!

Amazing place, fabulous food as always and great service

Had a lovely meal on the 26th September, the food was excellent and the service was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed the playlist in the background, really added to a good atmosphere.

Expensive for what you get. We had 4 small fish and chips of very average quality, 3 small bowls of overcooked peas, 2 beers, 1wine and a lemonade. The peas were charged at £1.75 each! The bill came to £98. Better quality, better service and better value elsewhere

Had a meat sharing platter at £25.75 along with fries at an extra £2. It was expensive and really poor quality food. The ribs were the kind in plastic bags pinged in the microwave. The pulled pork was in the tiniest pot and crusted on top. Chicken kebabs bland & chicken strips dry and bland. Must of been approx. 20 small thin fries in total. This is not the quality I’ve experienced at Harry’s in the past & if this is what they now serve I won’t be coming back. Staff however were lovely & attentive.

Couldn't fault service or location, however I ordered the Sliders, they forgot the chips. My wife ordered the vegan option of Jerk Chicken as she was told it was a plant based protein alternative but when it arrived, it was just vegetables in what seemed a sauce out of a jar. The cocktails were ready mixed not made and for the price, 80 quid for 2 meals and 2 drinks it was poor in my opinion.

We have stayed at Harry's numerous times over last few years and completely enjoyed it every time! All the staff are brilliant, and can't do enough for you - even the lady who checked us out this morning said 'I'm going to miss your smiles in the morning when you come down for breakfast!' Same as some of the previous reviews. Very expensive for what you get (particularly the very average drinks). Staff (who outnumbered the customers) were pleasant but having an open row about something at front of house which is not particularly professional and if the place was busier may cause problems.

Chicken skewers and chowder are the best things on the menu according to my wife and me. Tasty and delicious. The garlic mushroom starter could be better with button mushrooms instead of large ones.

The food was incredible. They had two specials on so we tried one each and they were simply the best food we've ever had. The staff were lovely and all in all a great experience

Visited whitby for a few days and had dinner here one night. The food was AMAZING!! Well cooked, plenty of it, soooo tasty, value for money. The staff are very attentive and always on hand. Prices are very much in line with the quality of the food. Freshly caught fish. Great location. Clean and tidy too. Highly recommended! Advisable to book though.

Exceptional food and service, we opted for the Whitby seafood platter to share, we were not disappointed, the fish was light, fresh with a crispy batter, the mussels were cooked in a garlic, cheese and samphire sauce, wow! Everything else was of the same quality, even the obligatory salad had been put together by someone who knew what they were doing. When next in Whitby, definitely first choice.

I spend a day in withby, and wanted a nice place to eat so Harry's was recommended by a friend. So i decided to visit and i don't regret going they the food was good the fish and chip was lush. Will definitely recommend to visit Harry's once in Withby

Won’t go back after they’ve close upstairs. Used to visit now and then, enjoyed sitting upstairs in the restaurant. Went back couple of weeks ago for food on a Saturday evening and we were tucked into a tiny corner. Worse still, people in there just drinking were hanging around the tables where people were trying to eat. You can do a bar, you can do a restaurant… but combining both just doesn’t work. Having the food upstairs was great but now won’t go back.

We both Had Prawn Cocktail to start followed by Seafood Linguini and Jerk Chicken. Everything was bland, very short on seasoning.

We went for a meal, and totally disgusted by the food and the prices, our son had Jamaican jerk chicken, it was served in a mouldy Pineapple and it looked rank and tasted even worse , and was nothing like jerk chicken . Don't waste your money , you'll be disappointed!!!!!

The fish and chips from here was mediocre at best. The chips were tasteless and pale and the batter from the fish was crispy for about 20% of it and the rest was soft. We got 4 mains and everyone said the quality was lacking. We had planned on dessert and decided to just get an ice cream instead due to the poor quality. The location is very good and the waiting staff worked hard and were nice. If you are going to charge £20 for fish and chips at least make it good quality

Went for breakfast at the end of our weekend break away and we had a wonderful experience. Food was great the staff were brilliant. Plenty of you seating both inside and out. There is a hotel attached which I’d love to stay in next time. Right on the seafront so great location.

The sharing platter with 2 starters to come out at the same time was absolutely perfect for the both of us and we really enjoyed the cocktails and surroundings too. Defo recommend!

Great staff, professional friendly service

Late evening meal. Nice environment, although high booth seats very uncomfortable. Tempura vegetables very poor, heavy greasy batter. Taste of Whitby much better. Excellent Whitby gin and tonic.

We were recommended to come here so was excited about eating dinner at this venue. We were sat on a tiny table with a big wall on one side and felt we were literally on top of another table of 4. I ordered chicken kebab and for the price I expected a large salad and at least 2 kebabs I received one kebab with chargrilled/burnt veg and dried chicken. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Squeezed us in on a very busy evening. Food fabulous,staff attentive. Highly recommended

Cute little place in Whitby that does not close at 8pm!!!! Food was yummy, fish and chips better than Magpie Café for sure. And ooh the cocktails, well made.

Peroni premium lager on draught was absolutely terrible pint and half 10.50 not good will not go back .

Breakfast very nice, although couldn't have fries even though it said all day.

Wanted fries. Stated they are served all day 'oh we don't serve them until 12.' Why? I had to settle for a bacon bun that didn't fill me up, (I'd be full if I had the fries.) Will not be coming here again. Fuming.

Came here a couple of years ago and loved it. Decided to go back yesterday and I was excited to have the steak again. The staff were polite and friendly. However, the food was awful. I ordered the steak which I asked to be cooked medium rare. This came well done and cut into small pieces. It was chewy and dry. It came with a side of chips that were covered in cheese with no seasoning. The chips tasted like microwaveable chips because they were covered in relish and cheese which dried them out. I have seen another review similar to this about the steak and prices. Will not be coming again. Worst steak I have ever had which cost £24.95.

After walking out of Quayside a few doors along because of zero service, Harry's Lounge couldn't have been more different. Staff were really friendly, service was excellent and we both had the cod and chips which was absolutely fine. Recommended.

Arrived for Breakfast, lovely area for a small bar and a quick bite to eat. Food was delicious, not a wide variety for Breakfast but nevertheless enjoyed ourselves. Great ambience and sweet and friendly staff!

Came here a few evenings for pre-dinner drinks. They have a good range of wine and cocktails. Cocktails were well priced and extremely well made and presented. Can recommend the French Martini, Margaritas, and Harry’s special. Friendly helpful service.

we were here last month and enjoyed our cocktails so thought we would give breakfast a go. I ordered the texan stack and my husband had the kippers, both were delicious and well presented. the girls waiting on were really friendly and chatty which made us feel welcome and not at all rushed. don't let bad reviews put you off, it really is a lovely place ❤️

Terrible, the avocado smash barely had any avocado on it and the toast was dry and over done. The pancakes we ordered smelled of fish even though when questioned the said they weren’t cooked on the same hot plate. He also became very defensive and almost agressive.

They fo a deal 2 fish and chips drink and bread 30 pounds then add 150 service charge itba rip of shouldn't be aloud they don't tell you this till.you get the meal.

Went in at 11.50pm . Got a table by the window. It was sticky and needed cleaning. I asked for a bacon bun but was told the lunch menu had started at 11.30. I just chose a tea for myself and a coffee for my wife. I was surprised they took the order with it being in their lunch period, but wouldn't cook a bacon bun. The tea came in the smallest teapot I've seen in a cafe, paired with the smallest teacup. The tea was OK. My wife's coffee came in a tall cup which still had lipstick stains on it and a sticky handle. She described its taste as "vile". Won't be back.

We ordered a £25.99 steak dish and when it arrived it was tiny and cold having been served on a wooden platter. The other dish ordered was mussels and a dish similar to clam chowder arrived instead so we had to wait even longer. The bar was packed and locals were seated and served before anyone else showing clear favouritism. We had £15 taken off the bill after having to complain about the portion size and coldness of the food … the bill still came to £58. We had to get more food elsewhere afterwards because we were so hungry and disappointed .. not what you’d expect after spending almost £60!

Well presented establishment with outside seating under cover with heating, and with friendly staff, wife liked comrade with the staff mixing cocktails also giving some advice on drinks, food menu seemed decent enough but we'll try that next time when we're back

Great service and food. Brilliant location and nice atmosphere. The only reason that they lose the star is because they add a 5% service charge which really annoys me. Please stop doing this, we aren't in America! Add 5% to your prices if you can't afford decent wages for your staff (If they do get any of this!?)

Would have given 5 stars for service but we did feel a little rushed - our pre dinner drinks literally arriving at the same time as our starters. Probably our fault, we could have asked them to wait, but didn’t. Food was great, staff were friendly. Enjoyed it very much and will definitely go back

A mixed experience regarding food , linguine good but prime steak burger very disappointing for the high cost . Nice venue , but an extremely noisy group near us at beginning that ruined the ambiance for us . Could of been better

Set menu and this wasn’t advertised which meant it didn’t cater for my dietary requirements. When asked the manger if we could leave and pay cancellation fee she doubled this. She was rude and no understanding! This was no fault of ours as the menu had not been advertised and it wasn’t advertised on New Years Eve either. I had to order food (which made me poorly) Cost us £33 for 2 starters and a Diet Coke disgusting! Will not be entertaining this establishment on my next visit.

Booked for dinner on New Years Eve as we were staying in the area. Prior to booking, we checked the website for the menu to check the prices and that the range of dishes was to our liking. When we arrived, we were presented with a specific menu for New Years Eve, which we appreciate is done elsewhere however this was not mentioned anywhere on their website or upon booking. Upon reviewing the menu, we were disappointed as it was limited and didn't reflect their menu on their website and neither myself nor my partner were keen on any of the dishes. We then noticed that the cost of the dishes had been significantly increased in comparison to their standard menu, with a main course averaging at £38. As it was NYE and we were on a weekend away, we decided to just enjoy the evening and the meal. Unfortunately, we left with little enjoyment - my starter was a very salty Fritto Misto and my main course was an extremely large bland pasta dish with crispy parnsips that had gone soggy. My partner's choice of lobster bisque and chicken three ways had a better response but for the cost, more was expected. Plus, although the girls serving us were very helpful, we felt service was rushed and we were being hurried out the door. We noted we weren't the only ones to be frustrated at this change of menu, as later in the evening another group arrived and voiced their annoyance at this not being highlighted to them with little acknowledgement from the staff. Based on our experience, we would not book again if staying locally.

Booked for new years eve, original menu shown on booking, checked the day before in person, asked to pre order from original everyday menu which we did then presented with fixed overpriced menu on arrival.

Loved the dinning setting upstairs , it was really quaint and cosy , the food was beautiful we got the 3 plates for a sharing , and the quality of the food was amazing and perfect portion for what we wanted. Staff were friendly and attentive , would definitely return

Lovely bar on the front, you can eat here but we only had drinks. Atmosphere was good. Staff were very polite and good at the job. We had drinks and cocktails, cocktails were really good, a little expensive but it's not often we have them. Also the visit was made even better by the annual Whitby Santa tractor run, absolute class.

Very nice bar in great location overlooking harbour . Sat downstairs in bar which had nice ambience and moderately busy Staff were very friendly and attentive swing to all our wishes Food was excellent and we both really enjoyed our meal and cocktails. Great value for money , will go again
