Excellent place. Very friendly staff and spotless

Absolutely terrible service. Me, my husband and his parents went here to have a casual drink and potentially something to eat. We were told that the seating was for people ordering meals only and we could only sit on the high chairs if we wanted just a drink. My mother-in-law suffers with mobility issues and was sat in her motorised scooter making it obvious she would be unable to sit on one of the high chairs. There were a few lower seats outside that were unoccupied and unreserved but was told that only high tables able to sit 2 people were the only ones avaliable. When pointed out that my mother in-law would not be able to sit at such no attempt was made to accommodate us in any way or any apology forth coming Disgusting!

Went in for breakfast they got the order wrong waited 15 mins for toast and Brought white bread ruined expensive breakfast and when I complained the owner said its not a fast food takeaway ..very rude

Rooms were lovely. Clean and modern. Great touches like leaving Prosecco, having fresh milk in the fridge, and some cake left, were all lovely. Food wasn’t that great though - ok but nothing to write home about.

Terribly disappointed with breakfast this morning Would not recommend the brioche eggy bread, it is bread that had been brushed with egg and not pan fried at all, no berry compote My husband had items missing and the waiter was sadly not helpful when asked to be helped with my meal Attended for drinks the night before and had a lovely experience but will not be eating here again

Had a fantastic meal here. The fish and Scampi were delicious, so fresh and tasty. We had brilliant service from all the staff. Super efficient and very professional. Highly recommend

Después de haber visitado muchas veces antes, elegimos Harry's para llevar a nuestra familia más amplia como parte de una celebración de cumpleaños. El lugar ha sido reformado un poco (atrás ha quedado el comedor de arriba a favor de dormitorios creo) y se ve lo suficientemente agradable. El servicio era bueno de una joven (no consiguió su nombre lo siento) , ella era paciente y servicial con nuestras peticiones. Sin embargo, la calidad de la comida ha cambiado significativamente desde nuestra última visita. Pedimos una variedad de comidas (hamburguesas, scampi, platos compartidos) , pero no sabía mejor que lo que obtendrías en un pub mucho más barato. Esto nunca solía ser así, todo era fresco y sabroso. También creemos que los precios son extorsivos en comparación con otros lugares de la ciudad (£ 31 para un plato compartido con un pequeño plato de patatas fritas, ver foto! ) y no ofrece una relación calidad-precio. Estaríamos felices de pagar una prima si la calidad fuera como solía ser, pero lamentablemente parece que Harry's ha optado por reducir la calidad en favor de las ganancias. Lamentablemente no volveremos.

Visited for a meal. Attentive staff, food was lovely. However the table we sat at was quite small and you felt a bit squashed.

I'm from Hull. Been out for the day stopped off at Harry's for something to eat. Straight from the off the staff was brilliant. We was greeted really well and shown to our table (it was table service too) once sat down the one of the other female staff came over asked if we would like drinks we ordered the drinks then presented the menu. Once the three of us dicided what we wanted the female staff came over ASAP. She was fantastic took our order she was really polite and had a lovely smile as did all the other staff. The food didn't take long to come out served with a smile and lovely to us all. The food we had fish and chips it was well presented and was really delicious. As we was eating we were asked if everything was okay and it was it was really great. I advise anyone especially visitors to go to Harry's great experience friendly and house warming staff. We are going back when we next visit Whitby

Just had a lovely meal at Harry’s and were squeezed in before a booking for our table. Food was very tasty and service was with a smile and very friendly.

Desde el momento en que entramos en el bar, la funcionaria en turno en ese momento (creo que su nombre era Fiona) fue muy servicial y explicó todo perfectamente! En primer lugar nos alojamos en suite martini. Fue absolutamente perfecto para nosotros! Especialmente conseguir el Prosecco y brownie incluido a la llegada. Tuvimos que ir a la tienda y comprar otra. Era mi cumpleaños número 18 y no podíamos haber pedido una noche mejor. Tuvimos nuestra cena en el bar que teníamos el trato creo que era Camembert y una botella de vino por £ 25 y luego tuvimos el compartidor de carne como principal junto con varias otras cosas. No podríamos haber deseado nada más de la comida: Megan y Eliseo eran increíbles que hicieron la noche aún mejor! Luego tomamos unas copas que eran increíbles. Si te alojas o estás en Whitby te recomendaría sus cócteles! Desayunamos a la mañana siguiente. Nuestro paquete incluía desayuno continental, pero a mi compañero le apetecía algo cocinado. Esta fue una reserva de última hora y nos alojamos en la habitación Bellini. Tenía unas vistas increíbles con vistas a la Abadía. Realmente fue encantador. Desayuno servido en nuestra habitación con una mesa junto a la ventana. Realmente lo disfruté. ¡Ohhh y los fish and chips estaban fuera de este mundo! Saludos al Chef.

We will be honest...it was the 2 cocktails for £15 which caught our eye initially as we got our bearings in Whitby; but it is the excellent service and divine food which has us plann8ng to return. We had actually booked a different restaurant for dinner from a recommendation and had only planned to have drinks; but after looking at the menu, watching plates of food waft by...we cancelled it and stayed at Harry's. Didn't take photos of plates, too busy eating but a quick rundown. Taste of Whitby sharing platter...light,crispy batter, fluffy fishcakes..yummy. mire than enough for 2. Cod n chips...the meatiest cod in lightest batter Fish pie...fluffy, tasty mash on top of delicious seafood in creamy sauce. When there is a cocktail offer, u expect a watered down version...but this was not the case at Harry's Lounge n Brasserie . Great quality cocktails, I think a choice of 8...all recognizable. Eg gin bramble, porn star martini. Ambience...quite luscious, low key lighting, comfortable seating, Hopefully we didn't spoil ambience with our laughter n chat....this holiday has been needed and we relaxed. Staff...friendly from the outset, never got names but hopefully they see this. Also.hope they know how much the cappuccino was appreciated. 🥰 Price...great value, obviously the deal was good. But even without that, very good. If you are in Whitby area, do not pass Harry's.

Mi pareja y yo fuimos a casa de Harry anoche. Hemos estado un par de veces antes y por lo general el servicio es excelente. Sin embargo, anoche ambos estábamos decepcionados. Llegamos y tuvimos que sentarnos. Dos personas en la barra estaban haciendo allí su trabajo, pero otro miembro del personal estaba sentado cerca de la parte trasera de Harry con quien solo podíamos suponer que era su pareja. Afortunadamente un hombre encantador vino después de unos 10 minutos. Fue encantador y se disculpó por la espera. La joven continuó nuestro servicio y fue grosera. Estábamos muy decepcionados.

Stayed two nights. Staff cannot do enough for you. We stayed in Bellini, it had a great sea view. The ensuite wasn't huge but adequate. Despite being above the bar, it wasn't noisy and we slept well. We had a slight issue with the Bluetooth mirror but fed back to the owner who states she will look to rectify it. Bar drinks and cocktails amazing. Our full English was OK, so we opted for the continental basket delivered to our room the second morning which was much nicer. Location is bang on for exploring Whitby. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Muy caro. no volvería a ir de nuevo.

Was told someone would be out to serve us after ordering 2 drinks... £14 for 2 ciders. Nobody came to take our order...but, wasn't such a bad thing as the menu is limited and again, expensive.

Lovely stay at Harrys with friends Staff very friendly and food wide range to choose from , breakfast spot on. We stayed in the Tattinger room which was brand new and did not dissapoint, nice little welcome pack in the room. If your going to Whitby this is a lovely place to stay.

Not been to Harry’s for a while but wow what a beautiful place since it’s all been refurbished me and my husband went on a Saturday night got a table straight away and the staff were very helpful and the meat sharing platter was gorgeous and a bargain of a price with the amount you got very impressed we have even booked to go again in February for my daughter and husbands birthdays can’t wait to try the fish platter too

Fantastic service, fantastic drinks and delicious food! From start to finish, every single staff member was caring, friendly and made sure we each had the best night. The food was incredible and the cocktails were beautiful. Couldn’t recommend more!!

The staff were very welcoming and the service was great. The bar has a relaxed but refined atmosphere and the decor is lovely. We enjoyed our meals greatly. The ingredients were fresh and the portion sizes ample. We will definitely be back!

Escaping the weather before dinner we slipped into Harry's for a couple of drinks. Warm and friendly it was just what we were looking for. Well made cocktails and some delicvious mulled wine - just the ticket

Lovely food and really good, friendly service. There is a very nice atmosphere at Harry's Bar.

Camembert starter was very good, we ordered the steak, both medium but we got one well done and one medium rare, loaded fries are just covered in dried up cheese and chopped peppers, ordered more drinks with the mains which didn't arrive, asked for the bill which didn't arrive and when i asked for it again they sent the wrong bill, a shambles over all.

Fabulous place. Food was fab! Staff were lovely, very friendly & helpful.

Lovely helpful polite and friendly waitress. Great mussels and chips reasonably priced from the starter menu and enough for a light meal. Be careful if enjoying the drink though, a medium glass of Rioja for £10 soon adds to the bill.

viernes la 1 calle de noviembre de 2024 y Whitby estaba lleno para reventar. Las colas a todos los puntos de comida rápida eran tan largas que no valía la pena unirse a ellas. Este restaurante tenía una mesa restante, pero tenía un cartel de "RESERVADO". Si no preguntas no averiguas cuánto tiempo tienes para comer antes de que aparezcan las personas que han reservado la mesa. Tuvimos casi una hora para pedir y comer, así que pedimos y tuvimos suerte. Mi marido tenía los scampi con patatas fritas, mi hija tenía una envoltura de pollo con ensalada y yo tenía un queso vegetariano derretido. Todo estaba delicioso. El servicio era maravilloso y el ambiente era fuera de este mundo. Estábamos sentados con Drácula, un hombre lobo y varios otros personajes. Volveremos, pero la próxima vez estamos planeando quedarnos en Whitby por unos días y no solo para el almuerzo.

We had a delicious meal here. Staff were just lovely. I would definitely recommend Harry's to anyone visiting Whitby. With such a busy street full of places to eat, I would have to say that the staff and the food made this a real treat. Well done Harry's 🤩

Comemos en el restaurante de Harry cada vez que nos alojamos en Whitby y hemos estado viniendo durante años. Reservé una mesa de nuevo en el restaurante, pero no me dijeron que el restaurante está ahora en el bar de abajo y no separado. A la llegada nos mostraron nuestra mesa que estaba metido en la esquina con la pared de una cabina en un lado y una mesa de 4 justo al lado de nosotros, también podríamos haber estado sentados en su mesa, la brecha era tan estrecha. También era extremadamente ruidoso Cuando dije que estaba decepcionado y no quería ser aplastado en una esquina nos ofrecieron un asiento en la ventana o el bar que eran asientos altos y un banco y se sentía como ser un café. En este punto nos fuimos y fuimos a The Edge y tuvimos una excelente comida en un ambiente agradable. Qué pena, estoy seguro de que la comida seguirá siendo tan agradable como antes, pero no volveremos

we really enjoyed our meal at Harry's, I had the seafood chowder starter and pulled pork sandwich with chips for main. Jackie had duck spring rolls to starter and a chicken skewer for main. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The wine was served nicely chilled. An excellent evening 😀

Been coming to Whitby for years, first time we've been in. Went in for breakfast, was absolutely fantastic, in quality and flavour. I had full English and my wife had eggs Royale, both were amazing. I would highly recommend a visit when you go to Whitby

Fantastic place to eat! My son and I go there every week for seafood. We have been in most of the restuarants in Whitby, the food, the atmosphere and the staff are brilliant!

Expensive for what you get. We had 4 small fish and chips of very average quality, 3 small bowls of overcooked peas, 2 beers, 1wine and a lemonade. The peas were charged at £1.75 each! The bill came to £98. Better quality, better service and better value elsewhere

Had a meat sharing platter at £25.75 along with fries at an extra £2. It was expensive and really poor quality food. The ribs were the kind in plastic bags pinged in the microwave. The pulled pork was in the tiniest pot and crusted on top. Chicken kebabs bland & chicken strips dry and bland. Must of been approx. 20 small thin fries in total. This is not the quality I’ve experienced at Harry’s in the past & if this is what they now serve I won’t be coming back. Staff however were lovely & attentive.

Couldn't fault service or location, however I ordered the Sliders, they forgot the chips. My wife ordered the vegan option of Jerk Chicken as she was told it was a plant based protein alternative but when it arrived, it was just vegetables in what seemed a sauce out of a jar. The cocktails were ready mixed not made and for the price, 80 quid for 2 meals and 2 drinks it was poor in my opinion.

We have stayed at Harry's numerous times over last few years and completely enjoyed it every time! All the staff are brilliant, and can't do enough for you - even the lady who checked us out this morning said 'I'm going to miss your smiles in the morning when you come down for breakfast!' Same as some of the previous reviews. Very expensive for what you get (particularly the very average drinks). Staff (who outnumbered the customers) were pleasant but having an open row about something at front of house which is not particularly professional and if the place was busier may cause problems.

Chicken skewers and chowder are the best things on the menu according to my wife and me. Tasty and delicious. The garlic mushroom starter could be better with button mushrooms instead of large ones.

I spend a day in withby, and wanted a nice place to eat so Harry's was recommended by a friend. So i decided to visit and i don't regret going they the food was good the fish and chip was lush. Will definitely recommend to visit Harry's once in Withby

Exceptional food and service, we opted for the Whitby seafood platter to share, we were not disappointed, the fish was light, fresh with a crispy batter, the mussels were cooked in a garlic, cheese and samphire sauce, wow! Everything else was of the same quality, even the obligatory salad had been put together by someone who knew what they were doing. When next in Whitby, definitely first choice.

Visited whitby for a few days and had dinner here one night. The food was AMAZING!! Well cooked, plenty of it, soooo tasty, value for money. The staff are very attentive and always on hand. Prices are very much in line with the quality of the food. Freshly caught fish. Great location. Clean and tidy too. Highly recommended! Advisable to book though.

Won’t go back after they’ve close upstairs. Used to visit now and then, enjoyed sitting upstairs in the restaurant. Went back couple of weeks ago for food on a Saturday evening and we were tucked into a tiny corner. Worse still, people in there just drinking were hanging around the tables where people were trying to eat. You can do a bar, you can do a restaurant… but combining both just doesn’t work. Having the food upstairs was great but now won’t go back.

We both Had Prawn Cocktail to start followed by Seafood Linguini and Jerk Chicken. Everything was bland, very short on seasoning.

We went for a meal, and totally disgusted by the food and the prices, our son had Jamaican jerk chicken, it was served in a mouldy Pineapple and it looked rank and tasted even worse , and was nothing like jerk chicken . Don't waste your money , you'll be disappointed!!!!!

The fish and chips from here was mediocre at best. The chips were tasteless and pale and the batter from the fish was crispy for about 20% of it and the rest was soft. We got 4 mains and everyone said the quality was lacking. We had planned on dessert and decided to just get an ice cream instead due to the poor quality. The location is very good and the waiting staff worked hard and were nice. If you are going to charge £20 for fish and chips at least make it good quality

Went for breakfast at the end of our weekend break away and we had a wonderful experience. Food was great the staff were brilliant. Plenty of you seating both inside and out. There is a hotel attached which I’d love to stay in next time. Right on the seafront so great location.

The sharing platter with 2 starters to come out at the same time was absolutely perfect for the both of us and we really enjoyed the cocktails and surroundings too. Defo recommend!

Great staff, professional friendly service

We were recommended to come here so was excited about eating dinner at this venue. We were sat on a tiny table with a big wall on one side and felt we were literally on top of another table of 4. I ordered chicken kebab and for the price I expected a large salad and at least 2 kebabs I received one kebab with chargrilled/burnt veg and dried chicken. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Late evening meal. Nice environment, although high booth seats very uncomfortable. Tempura vegetables very poor, heavy greasy batter. Taste of Whitby much better. Excellent Whitby gin and tonic.

Squeezed us in on a very busy evening. Food fabulous,staff attentive. Highly recommended

Cute little place in Whitby that does not close at 8pm!!!! Food was yummy, fish and chips better than Magpie Café for sure. And ooh the cocktails, well made.

Peroni premium lager on draught was absolutely terrible pint and half 10.50 not good will not go back .

Wanted fries. Stated they are served all day 'oh we don't serve them until 12.' Why? I had to settle for a bacon bun that didn't fill me up, (I'd be full if I had the fries.) Will not be coming here again. Fuming.

Came here a couple of years ago and loved it. Decided to go back yesterday and I was excited to have the steak again. The staff were polite and friendly. However, the food was awful. I ordered the steak which I asked to be cooked medium rare. This came well done and cut into small pieces. It was chewy and dry. It came with a side of chips that were covered in cheese with no seasoning. The chips tasted like microwaveable chips because they were covered in relish and cheese which dried them out. I have seen another review similar to this about the steak and prices. Will not be coming again. Worst steak I have ever had which cost £24.95.

After walking out of Quayside a few doors along because of zero service, Harry's Lounge couldn't have been more different. Staff were really friendly, service was excellent and we both had the cod and chips which was absolutely fine. Recommended.

Arrived for Breakfast, lovely area for a small bar and a quick bite to eat. Food was delicious, not a wide variety for Breakfast but nevertheless enjoyed ourselves. Great ambience and sweet and friendly staff!

Came here a few evenings for pre-dinner drinks. They have a good range of wine and cocktails. Cocktails were well priced and extremely well made and presented. Can recommend the French Martini, Margaritas, and Harry’s special. Friendly helpful service.
