Have been to the Harrows more than I have changed my socks. Love the atmosphere and how lovely and polite all of the staff always are. It’s a lovely little community pub where I can unwind with a few drinks and eat some great food on the odd occasion we have it. Perfect for the summer months with the tables in the sun. We also enjoy their themed nights. As for the review before me by the LOVELY Nigel… I was sitting near this guy who was the rude one, speaking to a young girl and the manager with such disrespect and swearing in front of children, thus acting like a child themselves titter tattering loudly so others would hear, I just wanted to enjoy my beer. Why are people so grumpy these days!? Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing! Cheers!

Called at this pub a few times and always had a great lunch, but shows how one visit can be so different. Called in just before 4 order some drinks and asked where we could sit for some food, to be told anywhere. So we ordered and sat to enjoy our drink and wait for our meal. At 4.30 a young girl from behind the bar came across and put a reserved board on the table and said this table is reserved at 6.30 and walked away. When our meal come the lady asked if there was anything else and I said some manners would be nice to be told I was out of order, is being perlite to much to ask for these days

First impressions a beautiful local pub great outside area. About 20 of us went for a meal that was prebooked to help with the prep and organisation. Very disappointed with the food, burnt batter on the fish, salty tough gammon stodgy chips and microwaved desserts. The presentation was good but the actual food and quantity for price let it down. Also had to ask for knives forks and condiments. I don't think this pub is set up for large parties for dining as space was also an issue. Sorry my first experience was bad maybe a return for just a lunch will change this I would like to think so

I drive past this pub a lot but not been in for a very long time - I met two friends for lunch on Wednesday and it was great. The staff were all friendly and you get table service which was a treat . The food was delicious and so well presented and the best part is the pub is dog friendly . I will definitely return .

Credit where credit is due, wow this pub was a find for us randomly! It’s got everything great choice of drink, a play area for the kids, excellent customer service I mean excellent, and great food! Highly recommend!

I ordered several things off the menu and all of it was Luke warm and chewy it's very expensive for frozen food that probably came from Iceland or like . I ate not even half of it all and when I was asked if my meal was ok I replied with what I've wrote above . All I got was a sorry and no offer of any kind of refund .

Stopped after a day out, the food is always excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful and the Ale is fantastic. I cannot recommend The Harrows enough, stop you won't be disappointed!

Had Sunday lunch at this establishment and it was delicious - generous portions and a good selection of roasts. Easy to find southbound on the A449 Stafford to Wolverhampton road and good parking. Pleasant and efficient staff.

Having recently started using this pub finding the wine reasonably priced my next visit it had suddenly gone up by five pounds took me by surprise.the food is great and value for money sudden

Firstly I should say the woman who dealt with us when we first arrived was lovely and efficient. Sadly, she did not deal with us for the remainder of the visit and instead we were dealt with by two young women and a young man. I know Sunday lunchtimes are busy. I know by later on in the afternoon the waiting staff had probably had enough and were knackered. But I also know that you don’t keep people with empty plates and glasses on their table waiting for half an hour before asking if they want anything else. You also don’t ask them if they want a dessert menu and then never return for 20 further minutes before we have to go hunting for one. It really wasn’t that busy. Funnily enough the table near to us, who some of the waiting staff appeared to know well, got plenty of attention and didn’t have to wait for anything. I don’t mind any of that but when it meant we were left waiting for ages it’s just a bit rubbish. We had such a great lunch here before and went back with family on this occasion only to look like fools because the service was so bad. Thankfully the food was ok but not a patch on our previous visit.

The loaded fries are gorgeous, and a great range of drinks on offer. It was very quiet on a weekday lunch and service was fast. Beer garden very nice and we sat in the sunshine and ate our lunches. Very nice and will return.

This was our first visit, and it certainly won’t be our last! The Harrows is a quiet village pub, with a large car park and outdoor seating (although the weather was too cold for that). Inside there are booths as well as table seating. The food was great – I was able to create my own pizza with a choice of three toppings, and the menu had a good range of vegetarian and vegan options. The other members of our party opted for the vegetarian version of bangers and mash, and the mushroom, lentil and spinach wellington, both of which they thoroughly recommend. Portions are generous, but I was given a box to take away the quarter of the 12” pizza that proved too much for me! Visitors should note that, at the time of writing (March 2023) the pub does not serve lunches on Mondays and Tuesdays (not just Mondays).

A very friendly welcome awaits you from the staff. We went for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing, my wife is gluten free and the staff were great in making sure her meal was spot on. Also the beer was perfect we will definitely be going back.

First time here as a group who meet up once a month for a catch up. Booking is a must for a Friday evening I would say, busy place. Very Helpful staff, shown to our table and given a couple of minutes to settle before we were asked which drinks we would like. A small menu - which is fine - quality over quantity is good. Between us we had five different meals - which were all absolutely amazing, good food and beautifully presented. If I had a criticism it would be that maybe tables are too close together, and as it is a small space then it can get quite loud, but this is not a bad thing, just a reflection. Nice large car park and outdoor seating area - which would be nice in the summer. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening and will definitely be going again.

The staff were fine.The menu offered was the wrong menu,plus my wife had put a ten pound deposit each for the three of us.The food was rubbish Steak pie little to no meat in the pie,the gammon ordered just too salty to finish and my daughters pasta meal dry as a bone.Won't be going there again.

Service was excellent and the response to the poor meal was very positive. I had ordered the Steak pie and it was literally empty, one lump of gristle and a slice of mushroom and that was it. They happily replaced it with bangers and mash. The bangers were good but sadly the mash, I'm pretty sure was made with powdered mash and the cabbage was raw, definitely not value for money. If you do visit, try a burger or pizza on a two for one night but I would advise avoiding the mains.

Absolutely fantastic! The food; starters, mains and desserts from their new menu were stunning. Great welcome, great service, atmosphere and to top it all reasonably priced too. What more could you ask for? Great work, we’ll be back again very soon.

Dear Tony,We attended the harrows today for lunch as a family of 3 + baby. I am vegan and was pleased to see there were plenty of vegan options on the menu. So I excitedly ordered the Popeye & Olive pizza. When the pizza came it looked amazing, and I took pictures in preparation to upload to my Vegan blog. As I tucked in, I was astounded that it was vegan, as the cheese was unlike any vegan substitute I had tried. We questioned it to the waitress and she asked the chef but assured us in the meantime it was vegan. It wasn't until a more thorough examination of the menu confirmed our doubts that Ve was labelled for all vegetarian options, not vegan (multiple sources site "My experience (as a British vegan of ~20 years) is that the most common is to use "V" for vegetarian, and "Ve" for Vegan. )". And although all pizzas were available with gluten free bases and with vegan cheese, the Ve labelled Popeye and olive pizza still had to be specified as such, even though it is not clearly stated as such in any of the menu wording. This needs to be clarified to prevent any instances of this happening again, as anyone with a more serious intolerance could have a serious issue. Unfortunately for me however, I now have the guilt and other side effects that eating dairy causes me, which I felt comfortable wouldn't be the case when ordering.

Recent renovation has reignited numerous aspects including spacious outdoor seating, beer garden and Children’s play area whilst also boasting a modern, cosy interior that isn’t too compact. At first glance the menu doesn’t look anything too special however don’t let that mislead you. The food is of excellent quality and generous portions to match. Highly recommend for all occasions.

The newly opened pub (after renovation) is really good. The food menu is mainly pies and pizzas but the Sunday lunch menu has all of the main roasts- and they were delicious. The staff have clearly been well trained with the customer focus being spot on. The outside area is good for families and has a small play area for children. Located on the A449 between Wolverhampton and Stafford. Totally recommend a visit.

Have been in here many times historically but not as it is now, it is an Ale haven not to be missed by the discerning Ale drinker. Looking at the Pull displays that cover the ceiling tells you that they know a thing or two about what the customer likes and wants.

From a distant this place looks like a new big house, not a pub, the sign is hard to spot clearly till you are by it.6 real ales on offer & when all ciders in stock, there are 21 varieties to try.Current Wolverhampton Cider pub of year.Cobs available are cheese & onion or plain beef.Like all the pumps clips on the ceilings, some good beer choice in there.Pictures & nice quotes adorn the walls.Car park entrance is on School Lane, & you enter the pub through the rear door, as you go through the beer garden at the back, small kids play area there too.Pool table & dart board in front right hand side of the pub.The place looks quite modern inside, magnolia walls & ceilings, light wooden floors.Impressed with the selection of crisps on offer.Owners here 6 yrs in Sept having taken on pub from Punch Taverns.There is also a decent selection of whiskey’s & gin’s available.Piano & flat screen tv in back room.The only let down was the annoyingly loud modern music which wound me up.

They don't do food here (although there are cobs on the bar that you can buy). It's a friendly boozer with ample parking so nice for a quiet drink.

He estado en los rastrillos antes en un número de ocasiones y es un pub encantador que sirve filetes fantástico. Por desgracia, me puse el pub recientemente reservar una mesa en el salón para una comida y me dijeron que los rastrillos ya no tienen una cocina! Como he dicho, esta es una pena, ya que la carne era una de las mejores que he comido y poner a Miller y Carter pena.Aún así vale la pena ir si sólo quieres una bebida como el pub es muy bonita.

En una entusiasta recomendación, cogí el autobús a los rastrillos (se detiene justo fuera) - ganas de una comida y a probar su amplia selección de cervezas y sidras.Por desgracia elegí un mal día - el chef estaba enfermo!Bueno, nosotros satisfechos con los panecillos y pastel de cerdo que estaba en oferta, y, en efecto, varias cervezas bien cuidados.Volveré de nuevo, pero pueden llamar con antelación para comprobar si el chef ha recuperado la primera :).

Elegí este lugar para disfrutar de una comida de cumpleaños para mi marido, ya que su país ha votado Pub de el año 2015 y no viven lejos. El menú y los precios parecían buenas y adecuada para nuestro grupo de 3 generaciones. Luego de haber leído algunos de los comentarios estaba preocupado de que me había hecho, sin embargo, una mala elección no podría haber estado más equivocados. Nuestro grupo incluía niños y el pub un menú para niños especiales, bocados ligeros, hamburguesas exóticas como menú principal así que hay un montón de opciones para todos los gustos. Hemos manejado pasado este pub miles de veces, pero nunca nos aventuramos dentro o comido allí. Así que decidimos rectificar que y fuimos el sábado por la noche para una cena con amigos. Era fácil reservar una mesa, yo lo hice por correo electrónico, lo cual fue genial, y me dieron una respuesta positiva a un par de horas en el restaurante, la mesa estaba configurado y listo para nosotros cuando llegamos. Había tres menú a elegir, una especial, un bocado ligero todavía disponibles en un sábado por la noche y un plato principal. Elegí un plato especial desde el menú ligero y una más pequeña 6 oz steak con todos los adornos para mi plato principal. Ambos estaban bien cocinada, bien presentado y generoso. Me gustó el hecho, podría elegir un plato pequeño así que pude disfrutar del aperitivo sin preocuparse no pude comer todo. Que empezamos a comer esperando el 4° comida y cuando no y que comentamos, la camarera no habíamos pedido. El chef rápidamente preparó, y llegaron, y fue ya que sabía y olía fatal aparentemente.Algo que notamos es que la carne lightbite 6 onzas era dos veces el tamaño de nuestras 8 plato principal de oz filetes ..............Todo 10 de nosotros por suerte era encontrar un episodio totalmente toda risa por ahora.El camarero volvimos y nos preguntamos sobre los budines, ¿hay cualquier queso? y hay un montón de tarta limón? Ah, sí, hay un montón de tarta limón fue su respuesta.En él hizo, sólo era su segundo día, así como su formación fue obviamente en la misma categoría que las camareras, inexistente.A su regreso, lo siento los proveedores han decepcionado y no queso. Visitamos este lugar después de ir pasando unas cuantas veces y lectura que ganó un premio local de CAMRA esperábamos impacientes. Fui a almorzar con mi esposa. Tiene infinidad de opciones de una amplia selección de cervezas. La camarera era sólo en su tercer turno pero era muy servicial y no podría haber sido más educado y servicial. La comida era rústico y tradicional estilo country pub y fuimos perfectamente con la cerveza. En vez de ir más allá, en el futuro, sin duda que volveré

Hicimos unos padres comida en los Motobinadoras ( 'hermano' pub de la pantorrilla Heath Marina.) para 12 personas hace varios meses y tenía una llamada una semana antes para decir que no podían atender como 'la cocina cerraba ese día'. Resulta que no tenía un chef ya que al menos 6 de junio y no tienen decencia de decirnos hasta ahora. Ya que era sólo una semana naturalmente estaba muy enfadado y pedimos una llamada del dueño para explicar. 24 horas más tarde y después de que otro recordatorio llamó y negó que me hablaba unas cuantas semanas antes para confirmar los números. No podía ver lo que era el problema" y le pidieron que van a comer en el puerto deportivo en su lugar. Me fue entregado a la propietaria de Las Motobinadoras que dijo que 'también habían dejado de alto y seco como su chef había dejado'. No estoy sorprendido si esto es los modales que utilizan. Ni disculpas, nada. Tenía el teléfono poner en mí dos veces. Un Lucky escaparse? Creo que sí. No comimos en ninguno últimos lugares lugar si en la tierra. Reservamos en otro lugar un poco más alejado de la carretera y se le nuestra historia como lo que quieran escuchar.

Visité los Motobinadoras con mi marido en una noche de sábado hora del almuerzo, estaba bastante tranquilo a sólo un par de 2 pequeñitos comer.Había unas pocas lugareños en el bar contiguo.

Le Pedimos a la camarera pregunta sobre la comida y no sabía todas las respuestas- quedó allí- no encontrar todas las respuestas. Comida llegó después de más de una hora. Pequeñas comidas para adultos de la porción. El personal no es amable y acogedor.

Visited for evening meal. Food and service excellent as always. Good selection of real ales, cider and wine. Would recommend.

A very warm welcome every time we visit. The owner and his staff are very pleasant and welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble for them. The food is very good value for money. They sell five or six real ales that seem to change regularly, as well as an incredible range of draught cider which I have yet to try. They have swings and a play area outside for the children. The menu is small but very good value for money and if they have it, they will cook it for you.

We ordered spaghetti bolognaise, hardly warm, very small amount of the sauce. The spaghetti was very slimy. I ordered garlic bread, my wife asked for some crusty bread, and they said they only had sliced bread.For a Italian meal, no Parmesan cheese. We had to wait 40mins for our food. Will not be going again.

They did a wonderful 27 meals for my sons 21st birthday lunch and puddings!. All meals were hot and homemade. Service was brilliant.Also wheelchair friendly a big plus for us.

went to a 21st birthday lunch, very good food, great homemade chips, lovely tomato chutney. Wonderful play area, plenty of room to sit out side. very good value, really nice home made apple crumble.

Stopped for lunch. The pub is handy if travelling between Wolverhampton and Penkridge just by a set of lights on the left. The car park is a reasonable size and easy to get on. There is a small grass area at the back for kids seemed tidy but not that inviting. The pub had clearly been refurbished and was in good order but with limited atmosphere. The lunch we had was of a good quality, all homemade and have to say the chips were great. the drinks on offer were good with a good selection of real ale. The service was friendly and promptA decent pub and meal pity the character felt lacking.

Just stopped for a late lunch when traveling - avoiding motorway for to congestion. Clean surroundings and friendly helpful staff. We had fish finger butty, burger and club sandwich all at £5 each, and a side of chips. All were very good and excellent value for money. Would recommend the light bites menu.

Hot day at this pub so sat outside. Not many veggie choices so had the Cheese and potato pie from the specials board. It was huge but wasn't warned that it was the hottest thing on earth! Temperature wise! Burnt my osephagous so badly, that a week later it still hurts when I eat!! A small warning would of been helpful. My friend had the Italian white bread sandwich, and frankly we didn't understand what was Italian about this doorstop bread! Nice side salad but over peppered and we don't like pepper that much, sorry but it's true. Like how they have done up the inside of the pub, bet its nice in winter.

Half way between the M54 and the A5, we just stopped on a Saturday lunchtime for a snack and were more than pleasantly surprised. A tuna mayo sandwich on thick fresh granary bread and a superb fish finger sandwich with tartare sauce on doorstep white were well above expectations. Together with a good pint of draught bitter and a lime cordial for a total of just over £12, obliging service and clean toilets, what more could we have asked for?

Visited the Harrows as part of a large party. Service was slow and staff seemed untrained. My steak and that of my companion was thin and gristly and the replacement that was reluctantly offered was equally unappetising though I could not fault the salad, mushroom, tomatoes and onion rings that accompanied the meal. In the end we were not charged for the steak meals but there was some argument over the bill as two members had paid and left early and staff had forgotten to deduct this from our final bill. Won't go back.

Our daughter recommended the Harrow so we went for lunch. We were greeted by a very personable young man even before we entered the pleasant lounge with its big open fire. He was friendly without being over-familiar and left us to peruse the menus in our own time. There was a choice of half a dozen "real ales" on proper hand pumps, and at cellar temperature rather than chilled to death. Our young host invited me to try samples prior to choosing both of my pints. The range of real ales on draught is up on a blackboard since it varies - customers are invited to make suggestions of which beers to include in the range.We chose from the "light bites" menu, locally-sourced, fresh and excellent value at around a fiver. It was nice to have battered onion rings made from fresh onion instead of the soggy ones that many places drag out of a factory freezer bag and warm up.We asked casually about the history of the place - beams everywhere - and another member of staff was sent over to us after we'd finished eating, to tell us all he knew about the recent history of the place, bringing an old photograph to show us how the inn looked when the car park was a bowling green.The location is excellent, on the main A449 Wolverhampton to Stafford road, a few mils south of its intersection with the A5. The only drawback is requiring a non-drinking driver to get back home!We were very impressed.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover this gem. I have been there 3 times now, with and without my young child. We have experienced nice home cooked food, friendly helpful staff and a well kept, well stocked cellar. It's nicely decorated with really clean toilets too, which is something I wouldn't usually comment on. There is also a nice looking playground for when the weather improves too. Great local pub, well done!

First visit to the Harrows for a meal and the food was brilliant! We went for a Christmas lunch which was £16 for 3 courses. A good range of choices for each course and the staff were very friendly. Would return again for another meal!

This pub has had a serious transformation and bears little resemblance to the old place, there has been some real care and attention given. The lunch was excellent and ingredients were very fresh, they seem to have a deal with a well established local butcher (Roger Aston) with much of the meat sourced from there. There is an excellent child's menu and no problems with a High Chair, also (as it was a nice day) there was a good playground so the kids let off steam. The only one slight improvement I would suggest is to ensure the plates are hot as the food cooled off pretty quickly. Whilst I am not a Real Ale drinker it was evident there is a large selection of Ales (many from small breweries) and unusually a really large selection of ciders. My friends assure me the beer is of exceptional quality here, all in all a really pleasant afternoon.

I have eaten at this pub a few times and gets better each time. I love the range of ciders instead of the run of the mill strongbow etc. Good prices and friendly staff. If you want quickly churned out, vacuum packed food this isn't the place for you. However, if the love home cooked food using local suppliers then give it a try. The puddings are great too. Try the pavlova as it's home made and fluffy inside. Just how it should be. The Sunday roast is perfect. This place is fairly new and strives to look after it's customers. I wish it growing success in the future. If only there were more free houses like this!

The rantings of the previous lady should be taking very lightly. I eat and drink here regularly. I have never had a bad experience here. The landlord, his wife an staff are always very attentive. My two year grandson as well as my two daughters are also of the same opinion. The food and ales are excellent. The fact that the bar and restaurant always full supports my comments. I would not hesitate to recommend the Harrows Inn for a day/evening out.

Lea B's review is very dramatic. I actually came into the pub whilst she was complaining to the staff. I have no axe to grind but found this lady's behaviour to be be excessive, if not extraordinary. She was shouting at the top of her voice at the staff whilst holding her small child.I have eaten at this pub a couple of times and have found the food to be well above the quality of 'normal' pub food and have had no issues whatsoever. This lady may have had some issues of her own with her food or service but in 30 years of eating in restaurants and pubs I have never seen anyone complain in such an extreme manner. Just felt I should try to balance the record.

Disgusting service with staff that humiliate customers. Serving a 1yr old a burnt to charcoal burger after waiting a whole hour for a starter and a kids meal whilst 3 other couples that arrived after us ate first. Then tried to make me eat my meal and make the baby watch me while he was crying because he had waited an hour and couldn't eat it! Then when I offered to pay for my drink and leave (baby was screaming at this point) they tried to keep my £10, further humiliating me by calling me deranged. Then eventually I was offered a pile of 1p pieces whilst the staff sniggered. Eventually after making me wait 10 mins at the bar, I finally got £8 back. Totally stunned & shocked. I was almost in tears by the time I got to the car. So much for a nice treat out at welcoming restaurant!

This pub has gone through a major transformation and is very modern looking inside but it draws on the old ways too. it has its real ales with guest ales every week along with a large selection ciders. The menu is very good and there is also a comprehensive specials board. My husband loves a good steak and it is really difficult to find anywhere that cooks one the way he likes it, I let my son order one the first time we went to the pub and it was cooked to perfection so on the second visit my husband ordered his steak. Normally I would go into meltdown and try to talk him out of it, this time I didnt, I knew I was onto a winner, it came out and was cooked to perfection. The homemade chips are delicious too. They couldnt do enough to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Liked it that much we are going to try the sunday lunch this weekend. I would definately recommend it
