Just had the worst Cappuccino ever, badly made and atrociously presented. Staff clearly need retraining as this was an appalling example of how to get something so simple so wrong. What a waste of money, sadly back in car before lid came off to reveal the disaster.

I find this cafe a little expensive, but it is convenient and great for a little treat. I took my three-year-old and we had a good snack break. I highly recommend the real cheese toasty. Little one had a sandwich and decorated her own gingerbread man. Always busy here so get in early. Comfy seats plenty of highchairs if you need them. Good for families before or after doing your tesco shop.

Had a very nice coffee at the Harris and Hoole coffee shop in the Tesco Extra superstore in Watford. However my toasted Brie sandwich and cranberry was not so good: the Brie was not ripe and thus left a slightly unpleasant aftertaste.

Have been here quite a few times since it opened and found the staff working here pleasant and friendly. Today was no exception. I accidentally broke a cup and their response was both professional and considerate (e.g. a young man). I was very impressed. Thanks, Harris and Hoole ...... and sorry! Despite being in a busy shop, I generally find the cafe quite a relaxing place to stop for a while. And it's a good place to visit when shopping in Tesco, though mind you don't exceed the permitted parking time! I had a vegetarian flatbread, which was tasty, though a little hot/spicy. I would have it again. A wider choice of vegetarian food would be appreciated, if anyone's considering what to offer in future. (There have been different things available in the past here.) I also had rooibos (redbush) tea, which I enjoyed without milk.

Popped in for a quick drink and cake only to be told that they could only serve us if we paid by card as they ran out of change Scone was nice but no cream and jam in a tube Chai latte was so small and at £2.70 expected Bette than the size of a kids cup Tables filthy covered in food left over Never again Don't waste your time going much better coffee shops out there and they have change

I visited Harris & Hoole today with family for a quick coffee stop. We used to regularly visit the Rickmansworth branch, but it sadly closed down some time ago. Our visit was a big let down. We tried asking the lady serving behind the till if she had any other vegetarian sandwiches but she seemed unsure of what we were really asking!! We gave up and simply ordered a couple of cakes instead. We also ordered one hot chocolate, a caramel latte and a cup of tea. When the hot chocolate/latte were finally ready, we were almost finished our cakes. They then arrived cold! I know Harris and Hoole don't serve their coffees as hot as some but these weren't even Luke warm! We sent them back to the very stressed/miserable lady serving coffee (clearly unable to cope with the workload!) A second batch arrived some time later which was marginally better, but the hot chocolate was very watery (not quite sure why it's so difficult to get a hot Chocolate right!) Safe to say we won't be returning again. We'll stick with Starbucks or Costa!

Further review! The service has improved although still they don't seem to have enough staff working and waiting for coffees can take quite a while. The quality of drinks is superb and the atmosphere is relaxing, this is by far my favourite coffee shop in Watford, the staff are always friendly and cheerful which must be difficult at times as this branch can get very busy. The hot food is lovely especially the flatbreads and sausage rolls on offer, these are not cheap but exceptional quality and will fill you up. You see many customers eating food here this is due to the quality, compared with other coffee shops. Personally I wouldn't buy the cakes on show as they are not shielded and often seen customers talking directly over them, a few times even noticed customers sneeze over the cakes and kids prodding them while waiting to get served. They do need to either put a sheet over them or invest in a protective cabinet. I would highly recommend all hot drinks and hot food but stay away from the cakes until they protect them properly. Also can you please open another branch in the town centre you would do a roaring trade!

Having noticed the huge sign on the side of Tesco I realised as I entered here that I had never turned eyes right as I walked into the Superstore. Additionally I naively presumed as a non-coffee drinker that this was just another Coffee Joint. But it offers so much more and with comfy sofas too. The hog roast sausage roll was just what I fancied snacking on, heated to perfection and served by polite Staff. A good choice too of other savoury delights and drinks. Most pleasing for a quick rest stop whilst Xmas consumering.

I love Harris & Hoole! We often come here at the weekend for a chai latte, hot chocolate or a jam/fruit scone. Honestly the best chai latte's and scones I've ever had in my life. Always craving them! And lucky that it's a 5 minute drive away.

We've been before and enjoyed our coffee, tea, pastries and sandwiches. (The counter sign said halloumi and aubergine. See photo, small print has chilli jam).Today the sandwiches were full of chillis. When I said something to the assistant she said 'it doesn't contain chillis it's jam'. I showed her the pieces I'd scraped off and she shrugged. I felt unwell as it was burning my stomach, throats and mouth. My husband loves chilli and he said it was unbearable. We thought someone was playing a joke. Then we are the chocolate brownie thinking it would help only to encounter a dry crumbling poor excuse for a brownie. Not for us - we will go elsewhere to somewhere like Gail's or Paul's where the standard is higher.

This is set inside Tescos but I often come here when I want a decent coffee. Regardless of having caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee the taste is excellent. Only complaint is I wish they did a larger cup for iced latte.

Been using the coffee shop since it first opened, found the staff extremely polite and cheerful. The quality of food is great especially which include both deserts and savouries. I do prefer this coffee shop to the main ones on the high street. I also think the seating area is really relaxing especially the comfy seats. We tend to shop as Tesco for emergency items but the main reason for this is for Harris and Hoole. I do agree with the previous reviews though waiting a second time for the coffee to be prepared is a little daft especially during busy times. I preferred the old system with the little vibration machine to vibrate when the coffees are ready. Also reading another review about McDonalds coffee been instant, I'm not sure if this was some kind of silly joke. Harris and Hoole is a proper coffee shop with Baristas similar to Pret, Starbucks and Costa. In McDonalds the staff simply press a little button and the coffee comes out, in proper coffee shops like this it's done by hand and more effort is put into it by a human to have maximum taste and quality. With the popularity of Organic Milk these days it would be nice for the company to start using Organic Milk instead of the cheaper milk, the only Coffee shop I'm aware that insists on Organic Milk is AMT which I support due to it been better for consumers, animals and farmers. Anyway I would recommend this coffee shop.

This cafe is set inside Tesco Watford, they really should have not bothered,, and stayed with the Tesco cafe and the donut shop. The staff are differcult to understand, the tables were sticky, and man the prices are so expensive, when you get your drink its luke warm at best. Its so expensive we all shared a cake, and that didnt seem fresh, i have never been back.

I stopped for tea while shopping in Tesco. It is unusual to find even restaurants serving proper leaf tea ( the real deal, properly brewed black tea). I was impressed that they served leaf tea and it tasted great. Good for those who like black tea and not ruin it with milk. My wife loved the ginger cake and there is decent range of sandwiches. But to me the main selling point is their good quality leaf tea. They do good coffee as well, but nowadays nicely brewed leaf tea is on the verge of extinction and they have done a good job to serve that. Decent environment.

It is an OK place, trying not to be Tesco, in the middle of Tesco. Drinks were OK, about standard really, staff friendly and helpful. I just don't really like Tesco and I think it is making me think a bit the same way about this place

Went to Watford TESCO last week and we decided to have a coffee , found the service a bit differant to the normal ,ordered 2 coffees and 2 scones a little expensive but very nice , the service though is a bit messy , scones brought to table but the guy who took our order asked for a name and explained this would be called out and we could then collect our coffees from another counter ... to say the least unusual why does it take so long to make 2 coffees , in a Mc Donalds you order a coffee and its there for you also at a fraction of the cost of most places , its a shame I am not an avid Mc D burger eater !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I popped in to Tesco with my daughter and grandchild for a bit of shopping but my daughter suggested we stop for a coffee first. I told her to go and sit with the baby whilst I queued for the coffee and queue I did! There were 3 people ahead of me and only one person at the till with two people making coffee. It was approximately 5/6 minutes before I got to the till to be served and I gave my order of 2 coffees with one piece of banana loaf. The girl gave me a flapjack and I told her that was wrong. She then proceeded to give me 2 pieces of banana cake so I once again corrected her. I paid and then waited not realising that I had to go to around the other side of the counter to queue for the coffee but soon realised myself what I had to do, although it would have been nice to have been informed of what I should do. I then waited 10 minutes for the coffee. Although there was an apology from the staff member serving the coffee I think that they clearly did not have enough staff or just weren't quick enough as the cafe wasn't full by any means. Someone needs to get in there and sort out the problem as I think there were a few disgruntled customers - including myself!

Gone for a shop in tesco's and thought this would be a nice to have a break and collect thoughts, there was a good and different choice of sarnies and a really nice cup of coffee given. However, for me and the wife it was over £12 for 2 sandwiches a cup of tea and a cup of coffee so it's quite pricy but of decent quality. In conclusion, a good experience but could be should be more competitive .

This place is great you get excellent coffee great fresh cakes/biscuits and pastries served by friendly staff. I look forward to my weekly shop as this place is located inside the Tesco superstore in Watford and so provides a nice interruption to the mundane task of doing the weekly shop

A really nice place to visit, nice food and coffee, special mention to all the staff who were obviously well trained and professional, but were also very friendly and seemed happy to be there, which is nice for a change for this type of establishment

Loads of Tesco stores have Costa. Found this by accident while driving from Northampton to Ruislip. First time we have come across Harris + Hoole although there are a few branches in the South of England. Like the style. The service was prompt and friendly. Good range of drinks and food. Our lattes were perfect, brewed to 60 degrees. Bit to far to travel from Northampton but if they ever open a branch closer would definitely use again. It is a part of the Tesco superstore so there are people moving about but it still felt separate. Have visited again on a Saturday and still had good service. Equally the coffees were as good as our previous visit. Price wise compares favourably with the " Costa" type chain of coffee bars.

This place is set in cassiobury park it's extremely over priced its shocking, I paid £6.40 for a can of coke and a can of diet coke and 1 packet of crisps ,the girl on the till was so miserable aswell.
